Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Camerton ᠺᠠᠮᠡᠷᠲᠤᠨ Camerton (Mongolian: Камертон, after the Russian word for tuning fork) are a Mongolian vocal group. They independently formed on June 24, 1995. The same year they won "Best Debut Group" at the Pentatonic Award, the biggest music awards in Mongolia. Widely considered as the first and the most successful pop/boy band in Mongolia, Camerton have released a total of ten albums and EPs between 1996 and 2004. All four of the band's members were classmates since they were 6 years old at the Mongolian Music and Dance academy. And the band was born by the time they were 15 years old. At the peak of their success, the band's popularity spanned throughout East Asia, most notably in Taiwan, where they have exclusively released a "best of" compilation. Their song "Don't I think About You" has been included in an Asian All Stars' CD, named "Love is The Answer". Following the release of "Celebration" EP in 2004, Camerton announced their hiatus. All four members of the group immediately went on to launch solo careers, most prominently Bold, who released several solo albums since 2005 and started a musical project named "Mongol Pop". The band occasionally reunites for one-time concerts and performances, most notable ones include their tenth and twentieth anniversary concerts in 2005 and 2015 respectively. In January 2015, they released a brand new song called "Асах Гэрэл" (Asakh Gerel), a soundtrack for the film "Давхар Цохилт" (Davkhar Tsohilt), with a new music video. In November 2015, the band played another sold-out concert in Ulaanbaatar. The concert named '18 Years' (the original title of their debut concert in 1996) consisted of 40 songs. Following their hugely successful concert, Bold announced via his Facebook page that Camerton would be releasing a new album in 2016, the band's first release in more than a decade.

Search Add 2 GODSiC Godsic was formed in 2000 as the solo project of Peter Tuthill, former bass player of Dog Faced Gods and current lead singer of Swedish rockers Construcdead. By early 2003, Peter had recorded all of the songs in his living room in Stockholm, Sweden. However, in early 2003, he decided to take the project further and move it into a new phase. Teaming up with Niklas Matsson, drummer of Backdraft, the two began searching for members to complete a full lineup. They found Gebba—also a member of Wounded—who turned out to be the perfect fit to handle one of the guitar duties. The band is now rehearsing the material and is currently looking for an additional guitarist and a bassist. Band Members: Peter Tuthill – Vocals Gebba – Guitar Niklas Matsson – Drums

Search Add 2 Bracode Bracode were pioneers of Sydney, Australia's inner west feminist punk scene. They were fronted on vocals by [a=Zec Zechner], with [a=Rebecca Mayhew] on guitar, [a=Jacquie Besgrove] on bass and Erica Lewis on drums. Active from 1999 to 2009, Bracode were arguably Australia's most fierce all grrrl bands. They issued three releases with 'The Sound of Bracode', a 4-track demo, being their first. Their debut full-length LP '[r=11097313]' was infamously posted to the music industry as 1.5kg of frock wrapped in a 'vegan meat tray', with their final album '[r=11924293]' released in 2006. They shared stages with international artists: [a=Sleater Kinney], [a=The Dresden Dolls], [a=Partyline] (US) feat. seminal riot grrrl pioneer Allison Wolf, and [a=Belters] (Japan), plus riot grrrl band [a=The Haggard] (US). Tipping their fascinators Zec is now in seminal Melbourne post punk favs [a=Plaster of Paris] and a new wave synth band [a=Double Vanity]. Bec Mayhew and Jacqui Besgrove are with legendary rock band [a=Babymachine] ft. Kristy on bass and Trina on drums. Erica is a former drummer for [a=Chicks On Speed] (Germany).

Search Add 2 Nicolo Amati Nicolò Amati Nicolò Amati (3 December 1596, Cremona — 12 April 1684, Ibid.) was a renowned Italian luthier hailed as the founder of the Cremonese luthiery school and arguably one of the greatest violin-makers in history, alongside [a=Antonio Stradivari] (1644—1737) and Giuseppe "del Gesù" Guarneri (1698—1744). Son of [a=Girolamo Amati] (1561—1630) and grandson of Andrea Amati (ca.1505—1577), he was the most talented and prolific maker in the celebrated dynasty. Most notably, Nicolo solidified and coined the immensely popular "Grand Pattern" — slightly enlarged dimensions that significantly increased the violin projection; also known as the "Amati school" or "canon," it was subsequently copied and used as a blueprint by many generations of Italian and European makers. Name variations: Nicola, Niccolo, Nicolao, Nicolaus Amatus, N. Amati Born in Gerolamo's second marriage, Nicolo was the fifth of nine children; most likely, he apprenticed at the family workshop with his father and uncle, and began assisting as early as 1610, when Nicolo was only 14. (His exact birthdate, given as "3rd September" in most online sources, is erroneous and contradicted by Nicolo's baptismal record from the 6th December 1596, which reads: "born on the 3rd of the 〈aforementioned〉 month.") In November 1630, Nicolo's parents and two sisters died in a short succession, succumbing to a devastating Great Plague of Milan — one of the largest 17th-century outbreaks in Italy that heavily affected northeastern and central regions. The plague nearly halved the population of Cremona and Brescia, with approximately 45-46% of citizens dying, including renowned luthier [a=Giovanni Paolo Maggini] (1580—1630). After reopening his workshop, Nicolò Amati became the sole active violin-maker in the vicinity by a giant stretch. Naturally, the utter lack of competition helped Amati to grow his business rapidly and further strengthen the dynastic brand. For several years, Nicolo continued using Antonius & Hieronymus Fr.〈atelli〉 Amati luthier's labels (which Girolamo, in turn, preserved long after the retirement and death of his older brother, Antonio). By the 1640s, Amati began struggling with unprecedented demand, which likely prompted him to hire apprentices and assistants so actively in the following years — most notably, [a=Andrea Guarneri] (1626—1698), a future patriarch of the "Guarnerius" dynasty. He was, undoubtedly, Nicolo's favorite pupil and lived at Casa Amati between 1641 and 1646. As evidenced by the archival marriage certificate, Andrea was the best man and signing witness at his mentor's May 1645 wedding with Lucretia Pagliari (ca.1619/21—1703). Nicolo and Lucrezia had five sons and four daughters: Girolamo Francesco (1646—48), Teresa Francesca (1647—??), Hieronymus (1649—1740), Teresa (1650—1733), Gian Battista (1653—54), Anna Maria (1655—1685), Giovanni Battista (1657—1718), Giuseppe (1659—??), and Eufrasia Scolastica (1661—??). His third son, subsequently known as "Girolamo II," was the sole successor, apprenticing with Nicola in early childhood and presumably already assisting at the workshop since 1660. Following his father's retirement circa 1670 and death in April 1684, Gerolamo "Hieronymus" II took over Casa Amati, representing the fourth and final generation of the great family. Starting from the earliest 19th-century scholars, generations of musicologists, organologists, violin experts, and art historians have strived to establish direct connections between Nicolo Amati and other prominent Cremonese violin-makers. Presumably, Amati had several "non-boarding" students, who didn't reside at his household full-time, which explains their absence in Casa Amati census records. Typically, the proposed relationship is based on "alumni" references on the instrument labels. However, it was not unprecedented and even fairly common for luthiers to include similar homages figuratively — i.e., as a claim that makers were Amati disciples "in spirit," indirectly, by following the Grand Pattern. Most commonly cited purported apprentices of Nicolo Amati include: ☞ Francesco Ruggeri (ca.1628—1698) Besides occasionally using "Alumnus Nicolai Amati" labels, Ruggeri invited Amati to be a godfather at the baptism of his son, Giacinto (1661–1697) ☞ [a=Giovanni Battista Rogeri] (ca.1642—ca.1710) Kept the honorary mention in his labels for the entire career: Nicolai Amati de Cremona alumnus Brixiae fecit ("Pupil of Nicolas Amati of Cremona who made it to Brixen") ☞ [a=Antonio Stradivari] (1644—1737) One of his earliest known violins carried the label "Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonenſis Alumnus | Nicolaij Amati, Faciebat Anno 1666" — however, no other examples had been documented; moreover, the instrument doesn't strongly resemble Amati's work, showcasing Stradivari's early proclivity towards experimenting and his ambitions to develop an original style. In August 2022, an article in the Dendrochronologia journal (Vol 74) claimed the soundboard of Stradivarius 1681 harp was made from the same piece of wood as one of Amati's 1679 cellos. (A circumstantial evidence, at best, which only indicates that Amati and Stradivari might've purchased wood at the same sawmill.) ☞ Jacob Stainer (1619—1683) Purportedly, served as an assistant and journeyman at Amati's workshop circa 1644; no robust evidence besides the stylistical influence has been discovered. ☞ [a=Bartolomeo Cristofori] (1655—1731) According to this particularly exotic bogus claim, a renowned harpsichord-maker and inventor of the piano's hammer action, Cristofori, purportedly studied luthiery in his early youth — based on the 1680 census that listed "Christofaro Bartolomei, 13y.o." among Casa Amati residents. As [a=Stewart Pollens] pointed out in his 1995 book, The Early Pianoforte, Bartolomeo Cristofori was 25-year-old in 1680 (his birthdate is known and verified by extant baptismal records); moreover, all records in the census followed a conventional "Name-Surname" pattern — i.e., the entry read Christopher Bartholomew, not "Christofaro, Bartolomei," and this unidentified Casa Amati resident wasn't even Bartolomeo's namesake. ☛ [a=Gioffredo Cappa] (1644/53—1717) ☛ Mathias Klotz (1653—1743) ☛ Giacomo Gennaro (ca.1627—1701) ☛ Bartolomeo Pasta (ca.1638—ca.1700)

They have survived many lifetimes of epic obscurity and, frankly, would be content to continue thus, apart from a driving desire to write and perform songs, thereby creating a creative necessity for the songs to be heard and the band to be seen. Search Add 2 Randay Randy Roopnarine Biography With roots in the style of Pop and Dance traditions of songwriting. Randy Roopnarine (ROOP-na-reen) manages to have a flavourable style of lyricism while staying true to the heart and soul of a beat. 'Heatseeker' is the type of track that gives multiple listeners a combination of new-age Electro-pop and Dance music taken to a new level of musical pleasure. The first thing you will notice about Randy is his unique style of songwriting and his voice. His lyrical Rhythm can make you rise and shake your soul, all in a heartbeat. Then he captures you with the way his melodies flow together, and leave you wanting more. Beautiful, sentimental, energetic, but mostly fun, Randy writes songs that are noticeably personal. You will want to dance- volume up, on a dancefloor- and simply listen. But that doesn't mean he won't emotionally capture you. Because he will. Since the release of Randy's first single 'Heatseeker' in September 2012. Randy has been working very hard on his debut album. He has played shows in local bars of Montreal, a charity event for the lost ones of the Tsunami, in the span of less than a year. From the downtown city lights of Montreal, Randy has been receiving praise for his upbeat, fun lyrical prowess, and powerhouse pop vocals. Randy currently resides in Montreal, Quebec working on his debut album entitled 'Renaissance'. The album is set to feature the fiery-energetic 'Heatseeker', along with songs that include positive, upbeat, catchy dance-pop productions from producers in Montreal. "I want this album to be a reflection of things that I've been through in my life. Hopefully people can connect to the messages that I've written in these lyrics, but at the same time, smile, and dance. I want this record to be a fun, emotional dancefloor, whether you're happy, sad, angry, or in love, to just let it all out, be yourself, and always know in the end, you got you."- Randy

Search Add 2 Lost Fairy Realm Born in 2015 as a side project to Black Mountains Chronicles, deals with ambient atmospheres and titles about the world of fairies. Originally the first compositions were thought to be parts for a new B.M.C.'s album, but the soundscapes of the full length were very far away from the B.M.C. tracks, so a new name has been thought. For L.F.R. sounds are more liquid and romantic, quiet reigns without noise attacks ... Also, some tracks are not as dark as usually you can expect from the creator. It is not clear if other albums shall see the light in the future.
