Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 43 | Polo Jones | American Bassist. Most notably, long time bassist for [a=Zucchero]. Polo Jones has been a bass player since the age of ten and a musician nearly his entire life. His first band experience was in support of his parents, Paul Sr., who blew a mean saxophone and Inez, a legendary pianist and singer in her own right. At the age of 14, Polo was asked to go on tour with Blues legend [a=John Lee Hooker]. His love for music drove him to expand his abilities to include Rock, Funk and Jazz as well as Blues. A versatile and talented musician by the early seventies, Polo was working with [a=Larry Graham], “Hot Chocolate,” Walter Hawkins and Sly Stone. After touring through the seventies and into the early eighties, Polo pursued a short solo career. In 1985, he received a call from producer-guitarist [a=Corrado Rustici], (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Zucchero, Andrea Bocelli, Ligabue, Elisa, etc.) to join “Holiday of Hands”, a San Francisco bay area fusion pop band. Shortly thereafter Polo began recording albums in Europe. Now with many multi-platinum recordings under his belt Polo is again reinventing himself. Polo’s Bass style is both solid and expressive, which has made him an asset to the many rhythm sections he has been a part of. Other instruments include Bass synthesizer, Guitar, Drums and Keyboards. But a world class entertainer is only the beginning for Polo. Polo has produced some varied and innovative projects, from language tapes to Movie Soundtracks, and from Rock n’ Roll to Country. Constantly updating and improving his skills, producing, arranging and songwriting as well as improving and expanding his playing abilities. Polo has kept himself entrenched in the music industry as a Producer, Entreprenuer & Executive Director of a number of non-profit as well as for-profit organizations when he’s not recording or touring.

Search | Add | 43 | Canty, O Cantinflas Português | José Gardão Branco Alcobia | Portuguese joke teller and singer, famous for his anecdotes full of swearing in the late 80's. Got his nickname of "Portuguese Cantinflas" from his physical similarities with the mexican actor and humorist Cantinflas. Canty recorded at least 50 cassetes in his carreer, all of them in front of a live audience. Some of his works are still very rare nowadays, there's not much information about them, so it's almost impossible to own all them. He stopped recording cassetes with jokes in the late 90's and presumably died in the early 2000's. In 2009, Espacial released a collection of 9 CD's, each of them with the content of 2 of his cassetes, some of them with slightly enhanced audio and stereo correction. |

Search | Add | 43 | Les Alcarson | Juanito (born Jean Claude Safrana; 1936 in Tunisia) is a French singer of Algerian descent who was popular in Turkey during the 1960s. Juanito went to Turkey with his orchestra "Los Alcarson" in 1965. His orchestra left three months later, but Juanito chose to stay in Turkey. During those years, translations of French songs called "arrangements" (aranjman) were very popular in Turkey. He gained popularity with "Arkadaşımın Aşkısın" (English: You're the love of my friend), which was a Turkish version of Enrico Macias's "La Femme de Mon Ami". Later, he sang several Turkish versions of popular French songs, mostly translated by Fecri Ebcioğlu and Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan. He released several vinyl singles from Odeon. He left Turkey in 1971, after arrangements lost their popularity. In 2000, his vinyl recordings were released in an album titled Canım Vatanım (English: My Dear Country). He also acted in the 1969 movie Tatlı Günler (English: Sweet days).

Search | Add | 43 | Marçal Prats | Marçal Prats | In 2002, Marçal Prats released his first techno-house remix of London-based singer and actress Linda John Pierre's song 'Night People' by The Cat & Mr. Cool. During the mixing and mastering process, he meets the prestigious Dj and producer David Gausa; Gausa is also the successful radio host of the EDM radio station FlaixFM, Barcelona (www.flaixfm.cat). He began a long collaboration for more than ten years as a graphic designer for Gausa's brand-new house music label, Sutil Records. Twenty years later, Marçal continues combining his role as a graphic designer, art director, and enthusiast photographer with his exciting work in music production. Marçal started his interest in electronic music in the 80s, fascinated by High-Energy, Italo-Dance, and its hypnotic arpeggiated baselines. He was soon seduced by the birth of House Music and the crunchy 303 analog sounds of Acid-House. In the mid-90s, during his first visit to London, he was again seduced by Drum&Bass, Big Beat, and IDM. In the first half of the 2000s, Progressive House came to stay as his electronic choice style. |

Search | Add | 42 | Luijo | Luijo | Luijo is a DJ and record curator based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He has been delivering less commercial forms of house and techno since 2002. Luijo is the emblematical Deep Techno and Dub Techno artist in his country. Currently, he performs worldwide. He was the resident DJ of the now closed club “The Warehouse DR” the largest undeground house and techno venue in the Caribbean and home for more than 2000 dancers each weekend. The conceptual approach of his music concentrates on building atmospheres and creating plenty of space between sounds, constructing a very harmonious balance between sound and silence. He understands music and scenery as a whole. His insightful musical vision can drive from the most penetrating and perceptive deep techno sounds, to the warmest, soul touching house rhythms. The refined mysticism transmitted through his music is inspired from both visual and sensual aspects of nature. For him, music is the perfect linkage between the listener and his environments. He constructs a unique atmosphere that can be the perfect start off, as well as the peak time outbreak, envisioning a flawless combination between a core full of crispy dub sounds and smooth minimal touches around the edges. His powerful delivery of rare and elegant music is his well-known trademark. Luijo passed through various styles of music since an early age, such as Classical, Jazz, Baroque, Rock and Heavy Metal, receiving guitar lessons accordingly. For several years, he studied music composition and gained acceptance to the National Conservatory of Music. Collecting records, crate digging and learning about computer-based music became his prominent hobby. His record collection now holds more than a 3000 vinyl records, from house and techno to classical and piano solo. In the years 2003-2004 he collaborated as a volunteer with 97.5 FM Radio “Sonido Tribal” which earlier evolved as Visionario Radio Show, with guest mixes featuring underground house and techno. Luijo holds a residency at Mixcult, a Saint Petersburg based record label, radio channel and booking agency with a worldwide team of artists like: Kirill Matveev, Andrey Pushkarev, Anton Lanksi, Lola Palmer, Havantepe, Idealist, Vasili Borisov, Kammerton, Alex Humann, Captain Ulitka. It presents carefully selected Deep, Minimal, Dub Techno and House music on vinyl and digital. MixCult also serves as the parent label for “Spitzer Records”, an ambient/drone inclined subdivision with fresh experiments from artists from around the globe. He is also part of Sub.Spiele Records, a label from Cologne, Germany, that combines both aesthetics and deep music. He has collaborated with several groups: Arcticgrooves, a non profit project that remains advertising free, by broadcasting sets online as well as live shows, Robotmusik, an international underground DJ collective and booking agency, Fuzion Mix Radio, Buenos Aires, an Argentinian based underground electronic music radio station, Modulate FM, London, another underground electronic music radio station, Dewtone Recordings, Canada, another deep and dub techno label that features artists from all around the globe, Deep Mix Bucharest in Romania, a radio station that features carefully selected DJ sets around Europe, Deeptakt Records, a German based label with selected dub techno music, Frisky Radio, a groundbreaking electronic music internet radio and DJ mix subscription service with the largest collection of exclusive, human-curated electronic music and Cyclic Records, owned by Mihai Popoviciu in Bucharest, Romania. In 2016 he joins the Northern Lights Tour by Andrey Pushkarev with some of the brightest stars of the electronic music including Dana Ruh, Varhat, Cab Drivers, Nima Gorji, tiNI, Mihai Popoviciu and many more. His touring has included cities like Santo Domingo, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto, Trakai, Barcelona and Madrid. |

Search | Add | 42 | All Out Project | A. Out stand at the forefront of well-crafted heavy music: Folding cinematic sound design and towering bass around aggressive beats informed by breakbeat and dark Drum n Bass. Layered distorted leads and filtered reeses are immaculately placed between flurries of staggering rhythms, evoking auditory hallucinations and manifesting a deeply detailed sonic landscape. Their incredibly tight flow carries each weighty piece upon a platter of perfectly syncopated beats through beautifully decaying breakdowns with an underlying sense of dark nostalgia. Seamlessly shifting between tempos, they draw from the bleak sonic aesthetics of the Industrial landscape to deliver astonishing heaviness that’s as razor sharp at clubs and festivals as it is in the vast, dilapidated warehouses of the underground.

Since his father was a traveling minister, it only seems natural that the earlies experiences of Ken performing and singing were at those churches. He accompanied himself on the guitar. He was determined to make music and song writing a part of his life. In 1951, while just 17 years old, he moved to Hemet, California where he became a horticulturist at teh Howard Rose Company. That gave him the opportunity to start picking and singing at the country night spots that dotted the landscape in southern California. The audiences seemed to like his style, so he continued his musical journey. By 1967, he had appeared in venues in Las Vegas such as the Ares Club, Arthur's Club and the Blue Room. In the Los Angeles area, he was a guest many times on the Squeakin' Deacon's show that was heard over radio station KFOX. He also appeared on Cal's Corral show that aired over KTLA. He entertained the radio audiences for a year with his band over radio station KHSJ in Hemet.

There were several 70-key organs with a nearly identical façade. For these recordings, the organ was brought to the Decca/Fonior-studio in Brussels in 1954, where most of the repertoire arranged by August Schollaert was recorded. The first recordings brought onto the market were 78rpm-records, of which some contain small medleys which are actually a selection from larger ones (as appears from books still in the collection of the Rorive family). On some of the recordings, a bassdrum- and woodblock-player can be heard, probably to add some dynamics and more rhythm. There were eight of these records.

Search | Add | 41 | Porter Heaps | Porter Warrington Heaps | American organist and composer. Born 27 May 1906 Cicero, Illinois USA Died 3 May 1999 Palo Alto, California USA (age of 92). Born in Illinois, he lived most of his life in Evanston on Lake Michigan. He showed an early talent for playing the piano and organ and was hired as church organist at the local church while still a student at grammar school. He graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's and then with a master's degree in music. His summers were spent in Paris, studying organ under the French organist and composer Marcel Dupré. He was commonly referred to as "Mr. Hammond Organ". He made history on June 23, 1935 in the first public performance of a Hammond organ, an improved organ that made sounds that were richer and more realistic. He is responsible for popularizing organ music around the world by bringing the organ into smaller venues. His organ recordings were used in countless funeral homes across the U.S. Heaps toured the United States for the Hammond company, giving seminars and concerts to demonstrate the newly created organ. He founded his own company, Keyboard Publications, which published compositions, arrangements and learning materials. He was associated with the Hammond Organ Company for over 40 years, bringing their instruments an aura of respectability that they lacked when they were introduced in the 1930s. Heaps also produced background music for film and television and also had international performances as an organist. After retiring from Hammond in 1970, Heaps relocated from his home state to Palo Alto, California, where he settled and continued his organist career, giving lectures and demonstrations on both electronic and pipe organs. |

Search | Add | 40 | S. Sunny | Pashto music composer S.T. Sunny was born in Peshawar in a Christian family in 1950. He obtained a BA degree from the prestigious Edwards College, Peshawar. Later on he went to the United Kingdom to get certificate courses in Music. Unlike typical Edwardians who take pride in being fluent and well conversed in English, S.T. Sunny stands out as one who adored pashto music and elevated it to positions at par with quality music of Indian Sub-Continent. When pashto movie production started in the late 1960s, it provided Sunny the opportunity to showcase his talents. His first music composition project was pashto movie ZAMA BADAL. In this movie, he composed music for Khyal Muhammad, Kishwar Sultan and Hedayatullah. The songs were written by pashto poet Younas Qiyasi of Peshawar who is currently Editor of Daily "AAJ". While the movie did not do well at the box office, it made S.T.Sunny as one of the sought after composer because all the songs scored top on the list. Afterward, S.T. Sunny composed music for pashto movie "Baz aw Shahbaz", Makhrur, Tarbur, Da Ghaz aw da Maidan, Qesmat, Da Marg Saudagar, Jwand Ya Marg, and many others that continue to enchant Pukhtuns in Pukhtunkhwa and Afghanistan. The current song taken from pashto movie "Baz aw Shahbaz" speaks volumes of Sunny's capabilities and contributions to pashto music. Just like this song, he has hundreds of other pashto songs to his credit. His contributions to pashto music despite having born in a Hindko speaking household has immortalized Sunny in the minds and souls of Pukhtuns. As one of the original and talented pashto music composer, S.T. Sunny will have a distinguished place in pashto music history. Sunny is a pillar of pashto music and of the calibre no less than other iconic personalities including Munir Sarhadi, Sabz Ali Khan, SherAfghan, Rahadat Hussain, and Muhammad Rafeeq Shinwari.

Search | Add | 40 | Dennis De Souza | (born 1935, British Guiana; died 7 April 2012, Toronto, Canada) Pianist based in Trinidad, well known there for performing and recording popular music. Originally from Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, British Guiana (now Guyana), De Souza began playing the piano at age 9. "I finished a 3-year course in seven months and then went to a piano teacher, Mr Herman Faria. I loved to play popular music by Pat Boone, Jim Reeves, Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Dick Hayes and whatever I heard on the radio," he later told Indo Caribbean World. At age 20, he was booked to sail to England via Trinidad to study music composition. But Dennis had another interest also – cricket. He later recounted: "I fell in love with T&T and the ship sailed without me. I played cricket with Harvard and with Queen’s Park C.C.” One night after "a big victory," Dennis and his cricketing pals went to the Penthouse in Port of Spain to celebrate. "The resident band leader, Choy Aming, invited me to play the piano with his band. Because of the constant encores, people would not let me leave until 5:00 a.m.," he recalled. Among De Souza's later gigs was a 3-year contract at the Hilton Hotel in Port of Spain. He spent his final years with his family in Canada and last performed publicly in 2010.

Digital Dreams is a silly, playful song mocking our current obsessions with social media, streaming and going live. On the other hand, "#1" portrays a different facet of Melotika's artistry. This electropop retro pop ballad, peppered with R&B undertones, serves as an anthem to celebrate her musical odyssey. The song not only embraces the theme of love but also commemorates her burgeoning online community and fandom, The Rebelz. Melotika, known for her distinctive blend of pop and dance music, recently released two singles that harken back to the recession pop era of 2008-2012. The tracks, "Pressure feat. Krosst Out" and "Party Like 2009," capture the essence of that era while infusing a contemporary twist. "Pressure feat. Krosst Out" delves into the theme of feeling pressured to engage in activities that may not align with one's true desires in pursuit of success. In an age where the quest for online fame and virality can feel all-consuming, the song serves as an empowering anthem, urging listeners to prioritize their authentic goals and persevere in the face of external pressures. Conversely, "Party Like 2009" embodies the spirit of nostalgia, invoking the carefree and vibrant atmosphere of the late 2000s. With its infectious beats and energetic vibe, the track invites audiences to reminisce and celebrate the spirited nature of that bygone era. (An era before cell phones dominated the part scenes). Melotika's shrewd ability to encapsulate the essence of a pivotal time in musical history while infusing her own unique perspective sets these singles apart. Her music continues to resonate with fans, offering a compelling blend of introspection, empowerment, and unbridled energy. As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming album release Ultra Butterfly, Melotika's new singles are poised to captivate audiences and solidify her status as a trailblazer in the pop and dance music scene. Melotika's commitment to her unique artistry is unwavering. She remains steadfast in cultivating a musical space that is distinctly her own, refusing to conform to conventional genre boundaries. With unyielding determination, she embraces her individuality and remains faithful to her creative vision. It is this resolute dedication that sets Melotika apart, as she fearlessly charts her own path in the pursuit of authentic expression as an independent artist. Melotika humbly acknowledges to her fans on social media that she doesn't perceive herself as the most seasoned or gifted vocalist, but rather as an artist. She openly shares her journey, going live on TikTok to rehearse and overcome her stage fright by performing her original songs and covers. Since 2017, she has graced local stages in Toronto, including The Piston and The Mod Club, captivating audiences with her raw, autotune-free performances alongside DJs or bands. Known for her dynamic stage presence, engaging with fans, and exuberant quirky dancing, Melotika's future holds promise for even larger venue sell-outs as she continues to build momentum. Melotika has carved out her own unique niche, and her fans absolutely adore it. Since 2018, Melotika has independently released a multitude of music videos, each one a vibrant display of her distinctive style, charisma, and personality. These videos serve as her medium for conveying the messages embedded within her songs, weaving narratives, and deepening connections with her fans while also expanding her reach and visibility. Another outlet for Melotika's creativity lies in her hands-on approach to designing and styling her costumes and outfits, as well as directing her own music videos. Immersing oneself in Melotika's creative universe offers a captivating form of escapism. Melotika fearlessly embraces a myriad of eccentric scenarios, from dashing barefoot down the street in a prom dress to solo rooftop parties surrounded by inflatable companions. With multiple alter egos and covered in silver body paint, she struts confidently along train tracks in high heels or seeking revenge on a former flame. Even amid the pandemic, she fearlessly belts out tunes in the midst of a curious crowd with pink blood dripping down from her nose. Melotika has ingeniously crafted her own virtual realm, complete with animated renditions of herself, adding a whimsical and captivating dimension to her persona. Melotika is unapologetically herself in every situation. During the pandemic, Melotika ingeniously engaged her fans from Instagram by inviting them to film themselves dancing to her single "Dancing Without You," culminating in a heartwarming montage composed of these homemade videos. Melotika's latest production, the music video for "Party Like 2009," marked her most ambitious venture yet. Leveraging social media, she enticed strangers, models, and actors with the promise of free pizza and snacks, successfully recruiting volunteers for cameo appearances. Renting out a retro-inspired space adorned with vintage boudoir décor and a diner-esque kitchen aesthetic, she curated an atmosphere reminiscent of an indie sleaze house party—a nod to what she affectionately dubs the golden age of dance-pop: 2009. Diverse individuals from all walks of life came together to participate in this music video, celebrating unity and togetherness. |
