Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 5 | Anton Mervar | Born in Slovenia in 1885, where he learned the art of accordion making. He completed his apprenticeship at Lubas & Sohn in 1912 and immigrated to Cleveland where he worked as a laborer while manufacturing and repairing chromatic and diatonic button accordions in his spare time. He saved his money and by 1921 was able to build a shop on St. Clair Avenue. Besides housing his accordion business, the building served as a retail music store where he sold phonographs, records, and other musical instruments. In addition, Mervar acted as a consultant and talent scout for the record companies—[l61808], [l1866], [l62753], and later [l93681]. Among those he recommended were the [a6964156], the [a8400237] duet, [a6359617], and Anton Štrukelj. The Hoyer Trio’s earliest OKeh recordings (made under the name [a6449604]) and the Columbia reissues of them include on the labels the words “Harmonica izdelal A. Mervar” (Accordion made by A. Mervar). One of the Hoyer Trio’s recordings—“Samo da bo likof ” (Everything for a Bargain)—is a comedy sketch which describes a visit by [a2399990] to Mervar’s Music Store for the purchase of an accordion. In it, members of Chicago’s [a6936342] act the parts of Mr. and Mrs. Mervar. Application of techniques he learned in Europe gave Mervar’s accordions a distinct and unique sound which has not been duplicated. He and his wife died in an automobile accident in 1942. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | John Fesperman | John Thomas Fesperman, Jr. | John T. Fesperman (12 January 1925, Charlotte, North Carolina — 2 June 2001, Mitchellville, Maryland) was an American organist, conductor, musicologist, and distinguished organ researcher and scholar. He served as the long-running curator of the Smithsonian's [l=National Museum Of American History] (1965 to 1995) and published several influential books on the history and art of organ building. Fesperman grew up in Kannapolis, a small town in the suburbs of Charlotte, developing a passion and curiosity for organs, their history, and repertoire, particularly North European Baroque tradition, from his early childhood. John's undergraduate studies at the [l=University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill] were interrupted during WWII, as he served in the US Navy between 1943 and 1946. Fesperman resumed his education at [l=Davidson College] in North Carolina, earning a Bachelor's degree in 1948, followed by his second Bachelor's in Musicology in 1951 from the [l=Yale University School Of Music] in Connecticut; the same year, he undertook extra studies at [l=Universität Mozarteum Salzburg] in Austria. In 1955, Fesperman again went to Europe on a Fulbright Scholarship to study under [a=Gustav Leonhardt] in Amsterdam. During his Dutch tenure, John met and befriended [a=D. A. Flentrop] (1910—2003), a renowned organ builder and [a=Flentrop Orgelbouw] director. They remained close and regularly worked together for many years. (In 1982, Fesperman published Flentrop in America, a book documenting his friend's extensive work in the USA and South America between 1939 and 1977 and his long-lasting impact and legacy overseas.) After returning to the United States, John T. Fesperman briefly taught at the Alabama College in Montevallo, eventually settling in Boston, where he taught organ at the [l=New England Conservatory Of Music]. He became a music director at Boston's historic Old North Church, establishing and directing its resident choir, the [a=Old North Singers]. Thanks to his friendship with Charles P. Fisher (1921—2012), president of [l=Cambridge Records], John organized recording sessions for a few LP albums by the choir, featuring vocal works by Gibbons, Monteverdi, and J.S. Bach, as well as [a=François Couperin]'s organ masses. While residing in Massachusetts, Fesperman befriended some of the most prominent New England instrument designers of the time, such as harpsichord makers [a=Frank Hubbard] and [a=William Dowd], and organ builders C. B. Fisk and [a=Fritz Noack] — all key proponents and fervent advocates of the "reformation" movement in North America. (This approach arose in Europe in the early 1920s, strictly defining organs and harpsichords as "historic" period instruments, akin to violas da gamba or crumhorns, and rejecting modernity and technological innovation in favor of authenticity and faithful reproduction of extinct "canonical" builds from the great masters of the 17th-18th century.) Based on these discussions and mutual work, Fesperman published his critically acclaimed book, The Organ as Musical Medium (Coleman-Ross Co., 1962). In 1965, John moved to Washington, D.C., as he accepted the [l=Smithsonian Institution]'s offer and became a concert director for the Division of Musical Instruments of the National Museum of History and Technology; subsequently, Fesperman served as the Division's head. The most notable endeavor during his 30-year Smithsonian tenure was an extensive investigation and field research of two unique historic organs at the Cathedral of Mexico City in the mid-1970s, in collaboration with [a=Charles Fisk], Dirk Flentrop, and Smithsonian conservator [a=Scott Odell]. Their inquiry and publications resulted in a detailed restoration plan for Mexico City's church, which Flentrop successfully conducted. John T. Fesperman detailed their joint venture in his Organs in Mexico book (Sunbury Press, 1980). He also worked on several projects with a researcher and the [l=Organ Historical Society] founder, [a=Barbara Owen] (1933—2024), including the "Unchanging Crafts of Organbuilding" exhibition at the [l=Festival of American Folklife] in 1978. |

When HRH the Prince of Wales visited Liverpool, the Blue Mags were invited to play for him. The chaps are, of course, widely travelled throughout the UK and Europe. At the Den Bosch festival in Holland, they won the prestigious Band of the Year award in the face of competition from 100 bands all over the world. What makes the Blue Mags so popular is that their style of playing and their uninhibited approach fits in, whatever the occasion. They are constantly in demand for University balls, dinner dances, sports clubs, jazz festivals, weddings, because they are masters at appealing to all age groups. The line up consists of clarinet, trumpet, saxophone and trombone. The rhythm section has drums, piano, banjo and double bass. The chaps will tell you that they are entertainers rather than a 'serious' jazz band and their repertoire supports this view. They claim that jazz is an entertaining and enjoyable music that can be appreciated by everybody. However, let's not underestimate the Blue Mags. You don't win Band of the Year awards and get asked to play at all the major jazz festivals year after year just by producing a happy sound. Nor are recreations of the Morton Hot Peppers and King Oliver classics possible by other than skilled musicians. | |

Kedash is stepping out of the recording studio and into the real world of music entertainment with her debut album Real Life Situations. The Re-Release of her new album is in stores now and her single, Love Can be Funny Sometimes will be on the store shelves in July of 2001. She is presently working on the video for the single and it should be airing on mainstream music video channels in September of 2001. Kedash started singing at the age of 7 and her father recognized at that time that she had a talent for singing. He then started taking her to his studio to watch him record and arrange his music. When Kedash was 12 she recorded her first background vocals. She said she was so afraid at the time thinking that she would mess up and waist those people's studio time. However, she reports that everything went great and that she even got paid a little money for her work. A lot of studios started calling her after that to do background vocals for various artists. She says that it was a great feeling and that at that time she felt that she could be successful as a singer. Kedash's father Carter Cornileus gained musical fame in his own right with the group The Cornileus Brothers and Sister Rose. Some of their more successful songs include Treat Her Like a Lady and Too Late to Turn Back Now which went to number 3 and number 2 respectively on the billboard charts. Kedash also started working with various family members in the music business such as her uncle Frank and his son Frank Cornileus jr. separately and on various projects. Those projects taught Kedash even more about the music business and what was involved putting an album together. During these tender years her own unique style was forming. Kedash reports that she would listen to and study various artists such as Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Whitney Houston. People would tell her that she sounded like various artists throughout the years. Then at about the age of sixteen her very own unique vocal style had emerged. Kedash was an artist with Big Ballers Entertainment for a short time. During this time Kedash recorded various songs on their compilations and soundtrack. The relationship with Big Ballers did not work out and she decided to go her own separate way. She has appeared on other works such as Kinsu's Consensual Sex, F.C.J.'s Southside and M?T's self titled album. Meanwhile Kedash is lining up tour dates and other local appearances around the country. So be on the lookout for this very talented artist as she makes her mark on the music world. |

| Search | Add | 5 | Croskill | Brazilian Heavy Metal Band. Croskill is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1989 and was active until 1998. During the years of activity the band recorded two songs on the compilation Whiplash Attack Vol. 1 and an album entitled Escape into Fantasies, considered the first heavy metal concept album in Brazil, released on vinyl in 1991 by the Rock Brigade Records label. Croskill's music during this period reveals striking nuances and rhythmic variations, showing the musical and timeless quality of his work. Bringing influences ranging from 80's heavy metal to 70's progressive rock. Easily identifiable, its sound immediately takes us to the contemporaneity of these musical styles. In 2013, the band got together for a single performance at the renowned Festival DoSol in Natal, in the Northeast of Brazil. This show ended up making the founding members Eri Soares (bass) and Jucian Lima (vocals and drums) feel the impetus to return to activities that ended early. After a few years, more specifically in 2021, during the period of the covid pandemic, the two teamed up again and started composing new songs. This work brings a more avant-garde approach than the music practiced previously, thus presenting a natural maturation in his work, already rich in details and with very elaborate lyrics, a characteristic that is also remarkable in his work. Currently Croskill has Jucian Lima (vocals and drums), Eri Soares (bass), Karim Serri (guitar) and Denilton Falcão (guitar), and is preparing to release new material in 2023, songs with a current footprint , mixing new trends like psychedelic space rock and stoner rock to their progressive metal. Check out Croskill's unique and original work and stay tuned for new releases coming soon and see Croskill at the forefront of Brazilian metal. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | Rebelhot | rebelHot is a 4 piece band absolutely soaked in rootsy 70’s Rock influences. A mix of rock, blues, and funk you can’t miss. Since releasing their debut album back in 2016, featuring Jason Patterson from Cry of Love as special guest and mastered by Alessadro Del Vecchio, rebelHot have already toured and also played at festivals around Europe with artists like Y&T, The Darkness, Joe Lynn Turner, The Quireboys, Autograph, Skinny molly and many others. Their long awaited new album “Uncomfortableness” will be released worldwide on October the 12th 2018 via Metalapolis records and will feature 10 brand new songs plus an exclusive bonus track on the Vinyl edition. “Uncomfortableness” has been produced by rebelHot, recorded, mixed and mastered at their own P-Rose Studio by guitarist Paul Mainetti. The band recorded the majority of the album live directly in the studio mixing console and they’re very proud of this rough old style result. No digital effects or overdubs were used and it sounds live just like the 70s albums you're used to. The new album has been enriched with some bluesy sounds like harmonica and female choirs in a few songs, while still maintaining that funky power and those Southern sounds typical of the band. | |

| Search | Add | 5 | William Finzel | William Finzel, a trumpeter, led a popular Detroit dance band during the '20s known variably as Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra of Detroit or more briefly Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra. The group's recordings for labels such as Okeh and Paramount include the 1923 "Animal Fair," made considerably lively with livestock sound effects, as well as a pair of ditties for the motion-happy, "I'm Going to Wander (Back Over Yonder)" and "Keep A' Goin'." While the creative philosophy of some ensembles can be gleaned simply by looking at the titles of recorded tracks, the repertoire played by Finzel's ensemble in the recording studio was less a matter of personal taste than simply keeping up with popular sheet-music titles. | |

Sven Erik Mörtsjö) | Swedish singer, band leader, and guitarist, born on May 21, 1946 in Hudiksvalls församling, Hudiksvall, Hälsingland. Sven-Eric Mörtsjö experienced for the first time the feeling that this was something he wanted more of at the age of six. At that time, he had interrupted his play, stepped onto a mound of earth, and sung for a delighted audience who applauded and praised him. After his singing debut on a mound of earth, a few years followed during which Sven-Eric was shuttled across the country to various competitions and performances. At the age of 11, he performed at [l337454] in Stockholm, where he received praise and was even lifted into the arms of record company director and orchestra leader [a320176]. That same year, he won the Norrland Championships, competing against 23 other boys. At the age of 16, Sven-Eric joined a band that primarily played instrumental pieces. Several times a week, he would take his guitar and amplifier and catch the bus to the rehearsal room in the church's assembly hall in Njutånger. During this period, he also went out every weekend to dance, often at the legendary dance palace Högliden in Hudiksvall. Around this time, Sven-Eric also received an offer from the local Anders Erikssons Orkester (Anders Eriksson Orchestra). Their singer was pregnant – would Sven-Eric step in for her? The band's first performance with Sven-Eric Mörtsjö as the vocalist took place in Delsbo. Quite soon thereafter, the band was performing several times a week. However, late nights with the orchestra were incompatible with Sven-Eric's early mornings as a construction worker, and the same applied to the other band members. Therefore, in 1966, they decided to become professional musicians full-time. The 1970s was the golden era of Swedish dance bands. At that time, there was dancing everywhere, just before discos emerged and transformed the music scene. There were eight dance halls in Hälsingland alone. Back then, Sven-Eric and the rest of the dance band could stay in one place for two weeks; there was dancing from Monday to Saturday and people attending every evening. In 1973, it was time for Sven-Eric to assume the role of bandleader for his own dance band, with a new lineup and under his own name. [a855852] was formed with musicians from the band [a7079540] from Härnösand. Six evenings a week, Sven-Eric and his musicians performed on one of Sweden's dance stages—a life he absolutely loved. However, as a solo singer, his vocal cords suffered. On Sunday mornings, he was so exhausted that he could not even speak. Therefore, it was a great relief when [a803688] joined the band, allowing him to take over half of the songs. Their voices also complemented each other well. [a803688] had more of a pop style, while Sven-Eric performed the more romantic songs. The year was 1976, a year when [a855852] became known to Swedish television audiences through a performance on the popular show 'Nygammalt' (New yet old). That same week, the band had a full-page feature in the Swedish newspaper [l574460] promoting their new album, [m1846285]. It was fortunate that these events coincided. The album sold a gold record – 72,000 copies. The band could hardly believe it. Their next LP, [m2177044], also went gold, and the two subsequent albums achieved silver status. Gold records, television appearances, and a packed tour schedule were complemented by 'Svensktoppen', the Swedish music singles chart, which at that time had an incredible impact in the country. Sven-Eric has had three songs on 'Svensktoppen', together with his band the two songs: The first track, 'Ta Min Hand' (Take My Hand), of the LP [m2907721] and the single [r12725308] (A Little Angel Passed By); and as a solo artist, he spent 11 weeks on the chart with the single [r7074438] (The Night Has Its Own Tale). Sven-Eric Mörtsjö, [a803688], and the band's booking manager Bengt-Arne Pettersson purchased the dance hall Högliden in Hudiksvall in 1980. They owned it jointly until 1986, when Pettersson took over sole ownership. In the late 1980s, Sven-Eric's vocal cords began to act up again. His voice faltered and sounded harsh, and as a result, he did not sing for seven years. For someone who had always loved singing and whose life revolved around performing on stage, this was a dreadful period. Eventually, Sven-Eric underwent surgery when a diaphragmatic hernia was discovered, which was believed to be the cause. However, it proved ineffective, and he remained voiceless on stage—until that performance at a pub in Sandviken. He asked the others if he could at least try a single song. They were skeptical, but that evening he sang 13 songs! It was extraordinary, comparable to receiving a new car as a Christmas gift, he has recounted afterward. When his singing is present, Sven-Eric feels well; it is as simple as that. And although he stopped performing with [a855852] in 1999, he has continued to sing. Moreover, he has continued to perform on stage—first as a duo with [a7581855], and more recently with the SPF Seniorerna orchestra on Öland, where he now resides in 2025. |
