Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Els Xipis Mireia, Marta, Mercè, Elena, Cecília, Josep Maria i Xavier In the 60s the "Nova Cançó" had managed to appear groups and performers who sing pop songs in Catalan. But a missing children's group that brings music to children at the time, the act could see in theaters, fairs and festivals, which could ask for autographs or who heard on the radio. Thus were born Xipis, the hand of Concèntric, Josep Maria Espinás, Laura Almerich, Montserrat Angulo, Enric Frigola and Lluís Llach: children who sang for children in Catalan songs always present and, even, created especially for them. Between 1970 and 1974 made several concerts, recorded four records and left their small footprint.

Search Add 4 Valentin Rocher Fascinated by the hypnotic power and physicality of the sound they produce, Valentin Rocher plays electronic music on modular synths. Parallel to the live project Silicon Vallée with Fausto, he explores his instrument in search of the accident, playing with the digressions it allows. He distorts the sound by hand with sensitivity. Surprises and the unexpected are the driving force behind his playing and compositions. He takes us with generosity in his soundscapes where we walk with curiosity.

Search Add 4 Badge 212 Badge 212 Badge 212 consists of Adam Kowalski and Sean Rowader. Their music is often referred to as 'Scrum Rock', which blends the heartbreak of the blues, the angst of punk, and the tour de force of grunge. The guitar/drum outfit features a carousel-like process in which Adam and Sean switch off playing drums and guitar. Their beginnings date back to heisting power from an outlet in the back of, superstore giant, Meijer (Rolling Meadows, Illinois). This specific geographic location allowed anonymity thanks to the adjacent highway (Interstate 90) and the apathy of the nightshift. This spot remains a regular practice space for the band through all seasons of the year. Badge 212 opened for The Sturdy Beggars at Hong Manner in Champaign, Illinois in commemoration of New Year's Eve 2013/2014. Their setlist featured released and unreleased original songs. As of March 2014, the band has been recording their Double Debut Albums to be released in conjunction, Revenge of the Style, and BYC.

Search Add 4 Lord Daelith A small provincial town or huge capital of the state - Music can born everywhere. But influence of the environment affects composer and his music strongly. Lack of quality musical instruments but desire to create have made MUSIC from broken electric guitar and old soviet analog effects rack with using of computer as a mixer and synthesizer and drum machine. So the will of one man have became a beginning of the great way of group "Lord Daelith". Music of "Lord Daelith" is not usual type of rock/metal. This music is soul reflection of its composer, "cri de coeur".

Search Add 4 goodbyemotel goodbyemotel, purposely written with a lower-case "g", is a rock band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008. They are currently based out of Brooklyn, New York. The band attracted attention after live performances at several CMJ music festivals, and after their music was used on television. Several high profile music industry veterans contributed to the recording of their 2014 album If. goodbyemotel is best known for their 4D Live Music Experience." The band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008 and later moved to Brooklyn, New York.[3] They attracted considerable attention after their song "Set it Off" from their People EP was featured in a Chrysler Australia advertisement and then went into heavy rotation on several Australian radio stations. Their song "Last Flight of The Bat" was featured on the television show Gossip Girl. After landing a showcase performance at CMJ in 2011, the band lost their drummer two weeks prior to departure for the United States. Despite having to fill in performances with session drummers on short notice, the event was a success and goodbyemotel was invited back to perform at CMJ's 2012 and 2013 festivals.

Search Add 4 Trans/Human Adam Denton and Luke Twyman began collaborating under the name Trans/Human at The Audacious Art Experiment HQ in Sheffield during 2011. Employing several noise making devices and techniques in their performances, including mobile phones, radio, cassette tape, prepared electric guitar, processed drums, strobe lighting, contact microphones, field recordings and feedback systems, Trans/Human’s concerns lie within the physical act of music making and its relationship to environment and audience. Through their collaboration the duo sought to reflect their inclination towards creating ritualized sonic and visual experiences via a series of improvised performances, resulting in the cassette release, The 8 Hour Dance (2011). A further release on Blackest Rainbow, The Wider, was recorded in early 2012. Trans/Human’s improvised performances led to important collaborations with New Aktionist artists Nick Kilby and Kris Kanavan. Throughout 2012 Trans/Human have developed their performances to use the artist’s body as a conduit between noise and audience. By amplifying objects used by Kilby or Canavan during these performances, Trans/Human have added to their repository of noise making devices, bringing together performance and sound art in an innovative and engaging way.

For one concert in April 14th, 1973, Mathewson wasn't available and Richard Sinclair was asked to stand in for the bass player - this concert was still billed as WMWM, which is reflected in the crediting on bootlegs, but an official release in 2015 retroactively christened the resulting ensemble as WMWS.
