Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

-------------------------------------------------------- Nasr is the son of Hassan Mégri - lyricist and composer of the legendary Mégri quartet -. He was born surrounded by instruments and considered them as his toys, lived to the frantic pace of the success experienced by his father, his uncles and his aunt. He grows up with a guitar in his hand, and refines the flexibility of his fingers as he laps into the living room piano. Later, he will study music theory, and will master the knowledge taught by the Music Conservatory of Rabat. From his toys, he will make them his working tools. Like a fate drawn, Nasr will follow in his father's footsteps. Cradled by the movement created by the Megri Brothers in Morocco, and surrounded by the microcosm of the few musicians of that time, this is naturally what predisposes him to become what he always wanted to be : a lyricist and composer. In 2012, he will share his first stage at Mawazine Festival, that brought together the big names of Music in Morocco. It was also the last concert given by his father. A sort of handover, symbolic of an another wave of the Megri movement that Nasr has continued to instill ever since. An undeniably emotional moment since Nasr has continued to perpetuate the traditional back and forth that his parents knew, going from concerts to concerts and locking himself in the recording studios as soon as the opportunity arises. Nasr produces 4 albums and a single on the legendary Ouhmane label, and records his name - and first name - in a catalog which includes practically all the big names in Moroccan Music - all genres and styles combined - - "Fyoum Lefrah" (2011) - "Winek" (2014) - "Baghi Nfhem" (2015) - "Sa3a Dour" (2016) - "Machaal" (2019) This latest wave of the Megri movement is meticulously respected by Nasr. In 2017, like the Megri Brothers, he will begin a Maghrebin tour. In 2018, like the Megri Brothers, he will continue with a European tour. Just a few months before the death of his father, the late Hassan. He went to India to promote Moroccan Music where he gave a concert, and coincidence or not, they were both 27 years old for their respective trips. The numerous distinctions and prizes received from all over the world by Nasr, make him an ambassador of Moroccan Music. But Nasr does not let the light dazzle him, and never ceases to follow in the footsteps of his father Hassan Megri. Surprising, and different. |

Search | Add | 7 | M(69)n | M(69)n (pronounced "Moon") was birthed in darkness by Blackest Lord Mehfistaw’fulees and The Beast Most Grymm in the Year of Our Lord 2009. Choosing to remain forever true to the True Kult Ideals of True Kult Black Metal, Mehf and Grymm refused to rehearse, perform, record, or even ever speak of it again. Demonseed Nightgaunt joined soon thereafter because he had a Pit of Evil under his stairs. Two years of blackness later, Mehf serendipitously met with The Godking Pontius Pilates who - in an act of auto-da-fé - agreed to perform chthonic vocal stylings for the powerful and completely obscure group.

Tokom *93. Johanbeen snima tri albuma "Sam u borbi protiv dosade, What seems to be trouble, gentleman i Chaossex in monkey division".Te godine se i ustaljuje postava od tri verna člana, tri Johanbeen-a (Kita, Krcko, Fritz). Johanbeen zauzima kurs od kojeg nema odstupanja. Slede godine zeza, svirki i Johanbeenovanja. Sve albume izdaju samostalno u produkciji Siphilis tapes-a. RIP Kita

Search | Add | 7 | Scott Nussman | "The context of all art and sound I create is based on my beliefs, feelings, and visual perceptions at the moment it was created. The modern world is filled with too many people who take a variety of things at face value or interpret it in opposition for the sake of attention or a desire to control. Growing up in the 90s and seeing people holding demonstrations calling for the censorship of music during the same time as the Watts riots and Rodney King beating, I was dramatically impacted in regards to my feelings on censorship in general. Creative freedom through sound is one of the last bastions of free speech. Instead of placing blame on the influence of personal or group creative expression, the sickness in our society is what needs to be addressed. Much of my noise and music unapologetically puts forth the darkest aspects of society's underbelly and the impact it has had on me in order to both vent and express my disgust and disappointment. I especially use noise as my outlet for negativity so that I can go throughout life without reflecting that negativity on others or becoming a miserable person. I appreciate everyone who continues to support me. I realize how fortunate and blessed I am every single day. I have so much past and present music I will make available very soon. The newer music and noise that I have started making and have planned ranges in the type of sound. I am in the best place I have ever been in my life. Finally, my dreams are backed with the actions and plans to make them a reality. Sometimes, realizations and changes in habits take years as they did in my case. Every day I am grateful for the events, people, authors, and musicians who continue to inspire me to be better every day. I hope that the newer music I will be releasing later this year will be something that more people can relate to. My music has never had aspects of selflessness until this year. I have never felt the amount of joy and the chills from songwriting that I have experienced in just the past month." - Scott Nussman - 2/18/2022

His debut release was 2003’s “Psik Theme/Flaccid Acid”, and he can regularly be found manning the decks in a variety of clubs. Search | Add | 7 | Analogue Dream | Massimo Santucci | Progressive psychedelic trance solo project based in Ludwigshafen, Germany 'Analogue Dream' was the very first Electronic Music project of “full-blood musician”, visionary, rebel and music producer 'Massimo Santucci'. The project was born back in 1996 together with his brother Tony Santucci after a few visits in the legendary Grube, Tara & Zero Club’s in the Sauerland area.Between 1997 and 2000 Analogue Dream played hundreds of Live acts without have released any record. In February 2000, during a show, they meet Shiva Shidapu (aka Jörg Kessler) from Shiva Space Technology -one of the most respected Record company at that time-. Jörg was impressed from the Analogue Dream sound and signed one of the tunes called “Euphemistic Visions” for his Album/ Compilation “The Call of Shiva”. In 2000 another signing follows on the label Nephilim Records with the track “Tribal Dance & Go On” where Massimo used live recorded percussions and some Voice samples of his 2 Years old son. 2002 and 2003 was very successful years with a schedule full packed of show’s but in this time the most of the Psy- and Progressive-Trance Record companies in Germany and Europe closed they doors so the follow ups albums of Massimo Santucci - Al Dente, Prototyp - Phantom or the first Analogue Dream album has never been released. From 2004 on he concentrated himself on music production and started on the Record Company OpaqueMusic as a Producer and Sound Engineer. There he worked on many multi genre projects that were not only played on heat rotation in worldwide music club's but and also the way in the European Dance or Pop charts. Now, many years after Analogue Dream, Massimo is producing a bunch of new Psy- and Progressive-Trance tunes to strike the success of old days. With releases between 2018 and 2020 on Nutek America, Pharmacy Music and his own Label Global Trance LTD and some unforgettable live act on Festivals like Nature One, Ruhr in Love or in legendary clubs such as Butan Club, U-Club or Matrix he already showed that psy-trance is still owing through his blood. Search | Add | 7 | Gilbert Neal | Gilbert George Neal | The eclecticism of Gilbert Neal might suggest a changeling, or a dilettante, or maybe a jack of all trades. But such a characterization would miss the mark. Neal is more curious than distracted, more inquisitive than restless. In his mastery of rock, funk, folk, blues, jazz, and even musical theatre, he embodies the modern pop artist: an intrepid tourist of styles. After releasing four albums independently, Neal created his 2016 Wampus debut, The Mayor of Estes Park, by raising every bar, from songwriting to performance to arrangements. From existential funk to plaintive wit to loopy joy, he grabbed with hooks and grooves, pranks and koans. Swinging from the mainstream to the fringe, he was earnestly sincere one minute and brutally sardonic the next. Then, in an epoch of budding cultural collapse, he issued the bittersweet and unsparing follow-up, Mistakes of Memory. Relying on his mastery of musical theatre and zeal for classic prog, Neal crafted a narrative of longing and disconnection, a timeless pop curio that recalled nothing so much as the adventurousness of ‘70s rock. Yet the funky and mordant “Claudius,” a parable of American leadership circa 2020, placed Mistakes firmly in the glare of its moment and positioned Neal as an artist to watch amid chaos and change. Now, in the wake of a pandemic that waxes and wanes but never quite vacates, Neal delivers the provocative and bitingly personal I’ll See You When I See You, an obliquely passionate salvo that feels alien yet warmly familiar. On one level, it maps the dissolution of a (virtual? long-distance?) romantic entanglement. On another, it explores the mystery and dread framing the global perception of Russian culture. As always, Neal refracts the depth and diversity of his influences: Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, ELO, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, and Stephen Sondheim. “All my albums touch on religion, sex, age, and hope,” he says. “I treat them all like musicals.” I’ll See You When I See You comes out May 20, 2022. |

He also enjoyed a degree of success on the theatre front, writing a musical and a couple of plays, one of which was serialized on regional BBC radio. 1998 also saw the release of his solo debut album, Spirit Within, on the Luton-based 33 Records for whom he still records, followed, in 2006, by the stripped down acoustic Roll Back the Years.

Search | Add | 7 | Nitewreckage | CELINE HISPICHE (vocals) mixes bawdy music hall and ballsy punk rock in one explosive package. Born in Paris and raised on her parents’ record collections – an unlikely blend of punk rock and music hall - she began her career as a featured writer at London’s Royal Court Theatre, creating a unique act that combined music, history and comic monologues. She has also performed on Broadway and toured with cast members of Saturday Night Live. One of her oddest and most enjoyable assignments was to perform for the artist Louise Bourgeois at her New York salon. Back home in London, she has opened for Harry Hill and Marc Almond, performed at the Royal Festival Hall, and won rave reviews for her 2007 cabaret show at the Edinburgh Festival. DAVE BALL (programming) needs little introduction. He formed Soft Cell with Marc Almond in 1979, while they were studying art together at college in Leeds. Together they wrote and performed countless Eighties hits, starting with 1981 UK chart-topper Tainted Love. In the Nineties he notched up another run of hits as half of a second duo, The Grid, with Richard Norris. Dave has also produced and collaborated with artistes as diverse as Kylie Minogue, The Virgin Prunes, Earl Brutus and Billie Ray Martin, and remixed many more, including David Bowie, The Happy Mondays, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Boy George and The Pet Shop Boys. In addition, he has performed live with artistes such as Cabaret Voltaire, Psychic TV and krautrock pioneers Faust. RICK MULHALL (programming) started in the music industry in 1979 – the same year as Dave Ball – in the band English Evenings, before turning solo under the wing of Pete Waterman and his PWL team. In 1987 he formed Kick Production with Terry Neale, writing and producing for an array of artistes, ranging from Rolf Harris to Jeff Beck. He performed with the band Ultrasonic before forming his own label Dufflecoat Records. Rick began collaborating with Dave Ball on remixes two years ago under the Nitewreckers banner. He is currently working on a variety of music projects for the BBC and writing and producing for the Skull Bandits, as well as running the Richmond recording studios of Kick Production, where Celine & Nite Wreckage record. TERRY NEALE (drums) studied clarinet at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, before studying composition and arranging at Leeds College of Music. Drums and percussion then became his main instrument as he began writing, recording and working as a session musician. After forming Kick Production with Rick Mulhall, Terry began a 20-year career composing music for film and television at their Soho studios. He has played live with Transglobal Underground and Temple of Sound, and currently combines writing for Lovelabltd.com, touring with the band Loungeclash and playing with Celine And Nite Wreckage.

Search | Add | 7 | Arthur Custer | Arthur Russell Custer | American composer born in Manchester, Connecticut on April 21, 1923. BIOGRAPHY University of Rhode Island Library Special Collections and Archives Guide to the Arthur Russell Custer Papers 1940-1997 Arthur Russell Custer was born in Manchester, Connecticut on April 21, 1923. Custer demonstrated an early interest in music, playing on a piano in the family home as a child. In fifth grade he joined the Manchester Green Grammar School Band as a drummer. At Manchester High School, Custer continued playing drums for the school band, as well as playing in jazz dance bands, an activity he continued throughout his high school and undergraduate years. Custer graduated from Manchester High School in 1940, and began studying engineering at Hillyer Junior College in Hartford , Connecticut. Around that time he began spending time in Greenwich Village jazz clubs, listening to the music, and picking up several new instruments, including trombone, bass, and saxophone. He also began writing pop songs during this period. In 1942 he graduated Hillyer with an Associate’s degree in Science. World War II temporarily interrupted Custer’s studies, and from 1942 until 1946 he served in the U.S. Navy as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific, attaining the rank of lieutenant junior grade. After leaving the Navy, Custer returned to college, this time taking up the study of music. He graduated from the University of Connecticut at Storrs in 1949, with a major in music education. Custer worked his way through college by playing in a jazz band which, after he graduated, continued playing together once a year until the 1990s. In 1947, while still at Storrs, he married Marilyn Emmons. After graduation, rather than pursuing a career in music education, Custer began studying composition at the University of Redlands in California. He studied under Paul Pisk at Redlands, and was instructed in the twelve-tone technique of composition. During this period he wrote the score for a University stage production of Moliere’s “The Doctor in Spite of Himself.” He graduated from Redlands in 1951 with a Master’s degree in Music. In 1952, Custer took a position as Assistant Professor of Music at Kansas Wesleyan University, becoming the head of the Department of Fine Arts in 1954. He left Kansas Wesleyan in 1955 for a position as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Omaha, where he acted as Director of Bands, and also taught a course on classical music and composers for the University's pioneer program, "The TV Classroom." This television series offered college credit through broadcast lectures. While at Omaha, he organized a small jazz band, and was a member of the Omaha Composers Group. Custer began working on his PhD at the University of Iowa in 1956, studying under Philip Bezanson. While a PhD candidate Custer reevaluated his old works, discarding all of his early compositions. He began writing what he considered more serious works, completing several in that year. He finished his dissertation, “Concert Piece for Orchestra and Sextet for Woodwinds and Piano,” in 1959, and was granted his PhD in August of that year. Upon receiving his PhD, Custer took a position as the Director of the Music Section of the American School in Seville, Spain. While in Spain, he became involved with the community of Spanish composers, becoming a member of the Sociedad General de Autores de Espana, and eventually having several of his compositions, including his “Symphony No. 1” and “Concert Piece for Orchestra,” performed by the Madrid Philharmonic. He also continued his study of composition with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and Fontainebleau. He moved to Madrid in 1960 when he was given the position of Supervisor of Music for the U.S. Air Force Dependent Schools in Spain. During his time in Spain, 1960-61, he hosted a Sunday morning program, “Music for Music’s Sake,” on Armed Forces radio. Working with the United States Information Service as the music consultant to Casa Americana, he lectured, conducted, and helped to organize a series of concerts of American music, which included a visit by the composer Aaron Copland in June of 1961. Custer returned to the United States in 1962, becoming the Assistant Dean for Fine Arts at the University of Rhode Island. While in this position, he helped organize the Festival of Contemporary Art at URI in 1963. Custer was also active in the arts community at the state level, holding positions as President of the Rhode Island Music Teacher Association, the Vice-President of the Rhode Island Fine Arts Council, and the Vice-President of the Eastern Division of the Music Teachers National Association. Custer left the University of Rhode Island in 1965 to become the Dean of the Philadelphia Musical Academy. While in Philadelphia, he also held the position of Vice-President of the Philadelphia Composers Forum. In 1967, he married Delores Borgaard, and they moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where Custer became the Director of a U.S. Office of Education project, the Metropolitan Educational Center in the Arts, that developed arts centers and programs for children in public schools. He also wrote the program notes for the St. Louis Symphony during his time there. He remained in St. Louis until 1970, when he returned to Rhode Island to become the Director of The Arts in Education Project for the Rhode Island Council of the Arts. In 1973 he was named Composer-in-residence for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Custer gave frequent lectures, wrote many journal articles, and was the visiting composer and guest professor on many college campuses, including the Manhattan School of Music in 1973, Lesley College Graduate School in 1975, and the College of DuPage in 1976. He also developed an arts education workshop, “Explorations,” with pianist Dwight Peltzer. Custer’s compositions were frequently abstract works that used the serially ordered 12-tone techniques he had learned at the University of Redlands, and also incorporated improvisation and humor. His pieces often used electronic sounds, particularly pre-recorded tape that was integrated into, and sometimes influenced, the performance of the pieces. Custer also incorporated other artistic media into the performance of his compositions. His works were sometimes performed in museums and galleries, and used paintings or sculptures as objects to be expressed as music. Audiences were sometimes asked to assist in his performances by creating artworks, such as Styrofoam forms or painted images on slides, which were then displayed and used as the basis for improvisation by the musicians. Custer had many of his scores published as sheet music, and a number of his compositions were released as LP records. In the 1970s and 80s, Custer began contracting to publishing and video production companies, writing scores to accompany documentary and dramatic productions for both television and film. Most of these film scores were written for children’s productions, a number of which went on to win awards, including Parent's Choice Awards, Video Magazine Awards, several awards from film festivals, and nominations for Emmy Awards. He also composed music for advertisements and several commercial jingles during this time. Custer wrote and performed educational songs for children in the 1990s. The songs, which he recorded under the name “Grandpa Art,” were generally about animals and nature, and presented factual information about their topics with an entertaining, jazzy rhythm for children. Custer performed as "Grandpa Art" several times, both in live performances and on television broadcasts. Arthur Custer died on September 17, 1998 at the age of 75. |
