Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 Geoff Wichmann Geoff Wichmann A DJ for over 25 years, Geoff Wichmann possesses a striking blend of experience and childlike optimism in his approach to music. Like a therapist in practice, he facilitates the experience on the dancefloor, creating a space to evacuate the mind and nurture the self. Not one for self-promotion, he is beloved not only for his expertly crafted sets but also for his humility and dedication to the scene. Geoff has been producing and playing minimal house long before the hype of the aughts. After running his own record shop outside of Lille in the late nineties, he returned to his birthplace of Brussels, where he has been a fixture in the local dance music community. It’s safe to say that if you’re a Brusseleir; you’ve enjoyed dancing to one of Geoff’s sets before (many of them, more likely). He continues to play regularly at venues like Fuse, C12, Zodiak and more. He is a resident at Ojoo Music in Ghent, the home of local Belgian talent flying under the radar, and his productions have surfaced on labels such as Lessizmore, Mindhouse & Rationalism.

Search Add 7 Александр Сулимов Александр Васильевич Сулимов Alexander Sulimov is a Russian conductor, director of the Horn Players Ensemble = [a13907089]. Sulimov was born in the Vladimir region, Suzdal region, the village of Vysheslavsky in 1899. At the age of 10, he went to shepherd Nikita Kamyshenkov, who was known as the most skillful horn player. Sulimov turned out to be a capable student, quickly learned several songs and began to echo the teacher. For about 20 years, A.V. Sulimov in Suzdal and Nebylovsky districts. In 1935, being a family man, he moved to the village of Zhabrikha, Savinsky district, Ivanovo region. In August 1936, an event occurred that changed the fate of Alexander Vasilyevich. A representative of the Red Army arrived in Zhabrikha. In one of the camps, a group of horn players had gathered; the command was looking for a leader. Sulimov accepted the offer and was enrolled in long-term service in the Red Army as the leader of an ensemble of horn players. A year later, Sulimov’s choir performed at the district review of Red Army amateur performances. The success exceeded all expectations; all members of the choir were enrolled in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Moscow Military District. The repertoire of the horn players' choir consisted mainly of Russian folk songs, as well as new items with revolutionary and military-patriotic content (for example, “Katyusha”). In the 30s, works performed by this group were broadcast throughout the Union and recorded on gramophone records. One of them contains folk songs “Oh, you’re Kalinushka”, “In the forge”, which were performed by Lidia Andreevna Ruslanova with a choir of horn players. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the ensemble performed in military units. In the difficult year of 1942, the horn players went to the front.

Tokom *93. Johanbeen snima tri albuma "Sam u borbi protiv dosade, What seems to be trouble, gentleman i Chaossex in monkey division".Te godine se i ustaljuje postava od tri verna člana, tri Johanbeen-a (Kita, Krcko, Fritz). Johanbeen zauzima kurs od kojeg nema odstupanja. Slede godine zeza, svirki i Johanbeenovanja. Sve albume izdaju samostalno u produkciji Siphilis tapes-a. RIP Kita

Working together in mid 2008 they immediately created a prolific partnership based on their shared music styles and DJ experience. After a few years together they moved into production with a unique sound which can be described as melting pot of varied underground House styles encompassing deep melodic baselines and techy percussion with 80's electronic textures. Their production like their DJ sets are exciting and interesting, giving the audience something different each time you hear them play. With a bag of successful releases, most recently on Seamless Records, King Street Sounds, Nervous, Maquina, & Stealth Records. These guys aren't just your average DJs, but deliver on the dance floor both in terms of technique and concept of sound in a way that few DJs do. You may think you love House music; but 2 Good Souls are an outfit that live, breath and perform their craft with passion and soul like no other and are certainly ones to watch out for.

Search Add 7 Rat Section Experimental electronic project. Currently based in London, UK. Formed by Ratty Sleigh Johnny and Soopi aka Soops. Active since 2021. Official bio (supposedly fake) (according to it formed in 1989, disappeared in late 1990s): "A chance meeting in Bucharest two summers ago saw Ratty Slay Johnson and Soopie reunite. It has been a much discussed topic amongst art and music circles as to how and why Rat Section abruptly fell into obscurity in the late 90s and up to this point their sudden disappearance remains a mystery. Their sparse back catalogue seems inaccessible now. A dedicated collecting community known as ‘Club Rodentia’ sought to preserve their tape and vinyl output, amassing releases from Ratty Slay Johnnie’s sophomore release ‘Tails from Estonia’ to Soopi and Slay John’s last known excursion ‘Tashkent Knights’. An unfortunate occurrence led to the destruction of this archive in 2005. Member of Club Rodentia Carlos Moscato was quoted in an article of NME magazine saying “In the dark of night, a fire emerged, I was responsible at the time for the care of the archive, as standard Rodentia protocol we would move the collection every 3 months, for both preservation and for local access to Rat Sections catalogue. On the final night of my duty I heard footsteps, a crash, and before my eyes years of hard work erupted in flames. Since this incident I haven’t found even a crumb of Rat Sections body of work and people say we will never see them again." Carlos Moscato was correct, until now. Rat Section have been active for the last two years with appearances in London, Berlin, Malmö, Melbourne, Paris and Los Angeles, it looks like we are finally going to hear Rat Section again. They have found a home for their debut album on Halcyon Veil. Rat Section are back in the spotlight." "After a long hiatus, World Based Rat Section are back on the road. With a sparse and broad back catalogue dating back to the 80s, these sonic experimentalists have become renowned and sought after amongst a community of dedicated tape collectors. Finally, they return to London once again. "You try to put your finger on what Rat Section is and before you get close to this elusive Rodent, it scuttles back into the darkness.""

Search Add 7 Chœur de Femmes Calliope The name of Calliope, one of the very few exclusively female French choirs, refers to the muse of eloquence. This relationship between text and music is at the heart of this ensemble founded in 1997 by Régine Théodoresco. "By choosing a female choir, I knew that I was tackling a demanding repertoire and that I would have to fight against the clichés that confine us to the voices of angels, ethereal stuff... everything that I hate. I prefer maturity, violence, human feelings, such as women experience them in life. With a hard core of six voices (soprano, mezzo and alto, in pairs) Calliope tackles "little jewels, preferably taken from the French repertoire, little known or little played". Six programs and 25 to 30 concerts per year, the choir is recognized. “We are still struggling to pass the bar of major festivals where a male choir sells better to the public.

Most of their material is original but in live performances they often performed cover songs too. After a demo release (“Gasp!”) in 1995 and another in 1997 (“FlockHauS”, circulating in more than 500 copies) they got signed to Toast Records and released the CD EP “Surfin’Ska”. Later collaborated with Kutmusic first on the 2002 Paco Dj release “…Any Doubt Funk?” (for the track “Azulene 300”) and then creating the new sublabel FlockHauS and releasing the singles “Fuori Controllo” (2003) and “Rumore” (2004), followed by the album "Clackson" in 2006, containing 14 tracks of both new compositions and reworkings of previously released songs. The collaboration with Kutmusic continued with a series of maxi singles, a remix album and the maxi single "Sbando" with licensed samples from tv series "L'Ispettore Coliandro".

Search Add 7 3:6 Philly "3:6 Philly was originally formed around 1987, their first release came out via Camden based label Zoom Records in 1992. The band line up was Jase (Chris Fairman) vocals, Gea (Gea Russell) vocals & production and DJ Delite (Ray Francis) DJ & production. The Nottingham based trio was often described as an experimental hip hop band for that period, choosing to sample obscure jazz and rare ska records as a base for their tracks. Their (US style, shrink wrapped) debut promo E.P included tracks 'Those Flags Offend Me' and 'Three kryed Rape' with alternative mixes, instrumentals and a dub track entitled 'Kingston 12'. This began an underground buzz that steadily grew following the bands first official release of 'Those Flags Offend Me' 12". Critically acclaimed for its infectious jazz break, fronted with some socially conscious yet poignant lyrics. The follow up 12" 'Funky Alcohol' b/w 'The World Still Turns' also became a minor classic and was lorded by prominent DJs and the press alike. Notorious for giving outstanding live performances sometimes with the aid of a full backing band, which was quite rare on the UK hip hop scene at that time, they were also as impressive with just two MC's and a DJ which was the lineup that played the opening night of 'The Alley' underneath the Rock Garden in Covent Garden, London hosted by Jerry Dammers and Dermot Smyth. This became a seminal venue for cutting edge hip hop acts around 92 & 93. 3:6 Philly toured the UK sharing stages with acts such as Blade, Hijack and US bands Spearhead and Tim Dog. Their schedule also included the odd TV appearance like their slot on Channel 4's 'Naked City' performing 'Grave Digger' a track that was scheduled to be the next single but was subsequently never released. During the following period the band worked at completing their album. They were granted development time at Island studios and had sessions with among others producer Howie B. However by this time the core element that made the sound of 3:6 Philly so original was being pulled in too many directions. The album was never completed, leaving a reasonable body of work that still remains unreleased." - from bands myspace site.

Search Add 7 Schlangengeist Matt Bonk One-man experimental industrial black metal / symphonic project created by Noise Nazi originally in 2017. Originally the demo "Nocturnal Feast" was recorded in summer of 2017. It featured nothing but electronic noise & dark ambiance with an emphasis on distorted & tortured vocal FX. "Immortal Beast" was recorded in 2018 & went toward a more conventional black metal style. Both demos were shelved & unknown to the public until a re-release of "Nocturnal Feast" was featured on Narkotik Analog Recordings in 2021. Since then, Schlangengeist has made a total of 3 demos, 1 rehearsal, a compilation tape & 1 split. The project went on to mix industrial, noise & power electronics with simplistic bass, guitar riffs & synth melodies. Forming "black metal" in a much more unconventional sense, with elements of grindcore, death metal, war metal & more. This project does not care about 'talent'.

There has been a consistent tradition of musicians coming from the CSULA program who have worked with major musical acts, on major studio and movie projects, and hold positions in higher education in music. We landed a 5 year 3 album with Milestone music entertainment group in Germany in 95/96 and our Debut label release was released in early 97 with outstanding reviews and responce from some of the top magazines and radio stations throughout Europe. Sales of this CD are still unknown as just when everything was starting to snow ball when Milestone announced they were going bankruppt(pun intended).During the period prior to this we made some great accomplishments, such as:Named in the top 10 bands of the year from one of the biggest radio stations in Europe, Headlined The Whiskey, did a 4 week promo tour in Europe, beat out bands such as Testament and Megadeth in points scored for CD in The AArdshook Magazine just to name a few. With the record deal and European tour up in smoke the band took a few year hiatus and reformed in 2000 and moved the band to the Reno NV area. In 2001 a new vocalist was added to our new sound geared more towards marketability and we began writing, recording and playing live and are once again fixed and ready to be a contender.
