Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Curbeaters | CURBEATERS are/were kind of like “the father you never saw and didn't know was there, but suddenly he knocks at your door“. At least that's kind of like the case to well-known German acts BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS, IRA , PLANKS and ULTHA. Band from Köln, Mannheim, Konstanz, Friedrichshafen, Germany The history: In 2002 all members of the project spent a lot of time on a German message board for underground DIY punk/hardcore/metal and they mutually knew each other from shows and festivals. Several ideas for projects were founded by members of that board – non ever really gave birth to a record. Tom, Andy and Geb met for one weekend to practice and record a few ideas. Ralph was supposed to play bass but couldn't make it to that weekend. So the remaining members recorded the three tracks on this very record. There was never another proper rehearsal or plans to commence the band, but the instrumental tracks made their way through various channels and always got great feedback. The originally intended singer never made it to record vocals, so the whole thing just kind of faded to a distant memory and all members went on to play in some of the most well-known acts in German DIY metal/doom. Fast forward to 2016: Andy and Ralph both ended up in Cologne, playing together in a black metal band called Ultha. Andy is a professional recording enginieer and always kept up hope to actually finish the songs at some point. After an intital push by Timo (Golden Antenna Records) a few years back, to have Ralph record the vocals, the idea popped back up in 2016. Andy just opened his Goblin Sound Studio and Ralph is fairly well known for his trademark lyrics and vocal performance in now defunct Golden Antenna Records act Planks. Ralph wrote some lyrics and tried out the vocals – it turned out to be a perfect match for the three doom laden sludgy rock songs. Now hell froze over and Andy's persistance paid off: 'Time Is Unforgiving', a three song EP and the result of more than 15 years in the making. Limited to 300 records on vinyl distributed by the label which played a major part in why this thing came together after all these years. CURBEATERS consisted of TOM (Ex-Ira, Ex-Blindspot aD.) ANDY (Ex-Ira, Ex-Blindspot aD, now Ultha) GEB (Ex-Black Shape Of Nexus) RALPH (Ex-Planks, now Ultha)

Search | Add | 2 | Amined | Amined, based out of Chicago, has broken through the barriers of good ol’ fashion rock and brought forth a new essence of musical talent. The band was formed by John Paulson (Guitar) and Keith Krass (Drums) in a small room in Beach Park Illinois. The two played for years as an opening act at local shows, performing cover songs for experience and fun. Keith and John searched for new members in an attempt to form a serious and solid band. Keith invited his friend Kyle Walton to come check out the band as a possible member. Kyle immediately took the position as lead singer. The band was being formed. Kyle, excited to complete the band, asked his friend from high school Billy Adams, who was rumored a guitar player, to come check out the band. Billy joined the band and took position as lead singer and guitarist. Kyle stepped up taking the slot of bass player and Amined was formed in the fall of 2000.

Search | Add | 2 | Crab Society North | The Crab Society was originally Craig Setari and Danny Lilker. It was just supposed to be extreme sounding, and they recorded it on a cheap tape deck with way too much input level so it sounded really distorted. It was called "Noise For Noise's Sake." Danny brought it to the S.O.D. recording session, the guys loved it and wanted to record some more like that, although Craig wasn't there. It was recorded in the lounge of Pyramid Sound with a similar recording technique and was called The Crab Society North 'cos it was done upstate compared to the original that Craig and Dan did in NYC."... "It was never officially released and it's supposed to sound like that."

Playing the accordion since age ten, Steve formed his first band in high school and, pursuing music full-time, came to dominate the Youngstown/Sharon polka scene. The Steve Garchar Orchestra recorded for Coral records, releasing hit singles including "Jolly Time Polka," "Blue Mountain Waltz," "Highland Polka" and "Bridge Street Waltz." Steve continued performing during his stint in the service and reorganized his band for a short time afterward during the 1950s. Active in the promotion of Cleveland-Style polkas ever since, Steve again regrouped his orchestra in 1991 and has returned to the recording studio.

Search | Add | 2 | Beat for sale | BEAT FOR SALE is half way between Kraut Pop and Analogical Electro. An unlikely musical recipe made of a spoonful of analogical synthesizer, a mixt of hip hop beat, a pinch of saturation, an aftertaste of cold wave. The whole spiced up with syncopated chanted words. It has to be tried and tasted; one has to grab hold of it, savour slowly its rhythm. This alchemy takes full power on stage. With its experience of sets, The Metz’s trio pretty appreciates this performance. BEAT FOR SALE is a hybrid recipe which comes directly from a diversified musical syncretism. It would be like mixing up Peached, DJ Premier and Krafwerk in a magic box and see what comes out. Long live the magic trio.

Search | Add | 2 | Keef Storm | Keith Robinson | Glasgow rave pioneer and leader of Desert Storm Soundsystem. HE was a mixed-race Celtic fan credited with founding the rave movement in Glasgow during the early 1990s. Keith Robinson was a leading member of the Desert Storm Soundsystem – a group of larger than life characters who organised free (and usually illegal) parties across the UK and Europe. Affectionately known as 'Keef', he led the charge as Desert Storm famously brought their beats to Bosnia as humanitarian relief during the Balkans conflict. At one party the front-line was a mere 10km away - they were asked to turn off their lights in case they attracted enemy fire. The group eventually becoming a significant pillar of the Teknival movement. After decades of championing the resistance against night-time curfews, a heavy-hearted post appeared on Desert Storm’s Facebook page announcing Keith’s death. The 48-year-old was said to have died taking his own life in the River Thames on September 18 last year. Desert Storm posted: “Tragically Keith Robinson ended his extraordinary and wonderful life in the River Thames on the afternoon of Sunday 18th September, apparently by choice. “His loving family needs time and space to grieve and come to terms with such a terrible and unexpected event. “They ask his many friends to share their sorrow and be patient for news until the circumstances have been better understood. The full account and funeral arrangements will be posted here as soon as possible. X” An inquest into his death will be held today at Poplar Coroner’s Court in London. Life of 'Keef' Albeit under a cloud of grief, Desert Storm celebrate 25 official years together this year. Their first rave – and Glasgow’s first illegal rave – is said to have taken place around 1991 in a disused warehouse near the docks. They said the event “was a great success with hundreds of people enjoying music late into the morning hours”. People were charged for entry, but “after some major trouble with local gangsters trying to control the door”, future events were made free. Followers will remember their continued defiance of the Conservative government’s legislative crackdown on raves, free parties and festivals throughout that decade. Acid house parties became the target of political repression in the early 90s, often taking residence in venues far away from residential areas such as squatted warehouses, empty military bases, beaches, forests or fields. This culminated in the 1994 the Criminal Justice Bill which outlawed such events, giving police new powers to stop them and seize equipment. The sound system delivered the soundtrack to a massive protest in London’s Trafalgar Square, which saw 10,000 people attend. During this event Desert Storm were approached by a member of Workers Aid for Bosnia, who asked if they would host a New Year’s Eve “morale boosting gig” in the war zone. Putting their own lives at risk they agreed, and set off that December with five aid convoy trucks, actually crossing the frontline as they travelled to Tuzla. The eventually arrived safely. During the gig itself, local police allowed the music to continue provided the lights were turned off, with soldiers dancing alongside local until the small hours. In a documentary tracking a journey to Sarajevo, Robinson said: “We don’t think that music is a luxury. We think it’s an essential. Yet it’s always one of the first casualties of war.” After Keith’s death, heartbroken tributes poured in for the resilient raver. |

The stand-in/fictional identity Sands Pleine is target/proxy for automatic, irrational compositional decision making. Search | Add | 2 | Laboratorio de Interpretación Musical | Laboratorio de Interpretación Musical | The LIM (Laboratory of Musical Interpretation) was created in November 1975 with the firm purpose of going to greater depth in the study and performance of contemporary music. Since the debut of its founder members (Esperanza Abad, Rafael Gómez Senosiain and Jesús Villa-Rojo) in Madrid before the public and the media, it has continually been improving its cultural work, whether in its concert, research or educational facets. As an organiser of established concert series, it is the oldest in Madrid, uninterrupted since that date in Bilbao (Festival de Música del siglo XX), Barcelona or Pamplona, among other extraordinary events; whether within our frontiers (with a regular presence in the International Festivals of Santander and Granada, the Quincena Musical Donostiarra, Salamanca, Sevilla, Málaga...), or beyond them, with frequent performance tours in festivals all over Europe (among others, Italy, France, Russia, Hungary…) and Latin America (especially Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico and Brazil). Its capacity to adapt to the ensembles demanded for contemporary chamber music under conditions of an optimum performance quality (Premio Nacional del Disco), have conferred it marked singularity for each one of its public performances. A formal singularity which has ranged from the musical ensemble of its first series, to the innovating clarinet quintet, collaborations with plastic or video artists, electro-acoustic music, soloists or regular chamber ensembles. The production of records (recordings for the following labels: RCA, CBS, Dial, Movieplay, RTVE, SGAE, LIM-BBK, besides the creation of its own label, LIM RECORDS) and books like LIM 75-85, LIM 85-95 and Lim2mil (A synthesis of contemporary music in Spain) have completed this determination to disseminate music. The natural pioneering characteristic of avant-garde music has brought about the obligation of presenting a few hundred premieres, debuts in Spain and abroad, of numerous scores, that in many cases, the authors wrote especially for this group.
