Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Saint Jude's Day | Saint Jude's Day formed in 1996 when [a=John Mulhouse], drummer for [a=Bombsite] and the [a=Kung Fools], and [a=Kris Anderson], bassist of [a=The Strike (2)], began playing after their respective bands broke up. [a=Zak Boerger] joined on guitar and vocals and the trio started writing and practicing in earnest. This full-band version of Saint Jude's Day proved to be short-lived, however, when Kris left to pursue other endeavors. Zak and John continued, rehearsing a variety of originals, as well as covers by Gang of Four, the Rolling Stones, and The Who. After unsuccessful attempts to find a full-time bassist or second guitarist, it was decided in late 1997 to disband Saint Jude's Day after recording the completed originals. For the recording, [a=Mark Wilcox] of [a=Destroy!], [a=Impetus Inter], and [a=No Statik], amongst others, played bass. In 2004, Saint Jude's Day reconvened to record new material and play two shows. For this recording, in addition to Zak and John, [a=Scott Cook] of [a=Porcelain Boys], [a=Bombsite], and [a=The Ronnie Buxtons] played bass. Zak would go on to play in psyche-folk project [a=These Wonderful Evils].

Search | Add | 2 | The Skalps | The Skalps started in 2016 as something of a vanity project for Dublin'er Tommy Byrne formerly of Present Arms fame who, upon approaching a significant birthday (not his 21st!), decided he wanted to “scalp” a few of his favorite musicians from the Ska scene to record some of his original tunes for posterity. Seven people eventually signed up for Tommy’s pet project the rest is history.

Search | Add | 2 | The Lenzmen | Lenzmen are a four-man New York based rap group. The Lenzmen have been making songs together for nearly a decade. The name Lenzmen is structured from Lyrically Enhanced Scientists and expresses the creative slant their version of Hip Hop is geared to. Each Lenzmen is designated with a number and a sight description based on his order of origin (when he joined the group) and personality. The Animal/ Insect Totem, among other things like The Alphabet Symbol Chart and The Planetary Alignment Map further establish the Conceptual Square each Lenzmen develops in. They are That Next Thing to inject a whole new sound into the under nourished music industry. The Lenzmen concept is complete in all angles and has far reaching goals beyond the immediate struggle for survival. The industry needs to awaken from its' hibernation and embrace the aLiENZ.

Jak's audio recordings are mostly intimate solo efforts and sporadic collaborations with various friends and anyone else present at the time who Jak had persuaded to take part. He collaborated with two close friends, Michael Gillham and Conny Plankton, to continue to develop and mix his recordings, and worked further with Kommissar Hjuler Und Frau and other new collaborators. The self-titled album on Vampire Records is the result and is the first in a series of releases.

Singer/Songwriter Dave Cassell and Drummer Oscar Hermosillo are first cousins and have been playing music together since the age of 13. They played in a band together throughout high school. After High School, Oscar went to the University of California Santa Barbara where he met and lived with Guitarist/Producer and Mix Master Harold Lee and Bass Player/Player Chris Ohno for over 7 years. Dave continued playing and touring with a band called Applekore. In about May of 1993, Dave's band broke up and so did Harold's infamous Los Guys, another band that toured and played for several years here and even in China. Chris and Oscar were practicing riffs in -the garage- Santa Barbara for Santa Mierda, a band that had members of every band within a 12 mile radius and no songs. Chris and Oscar thought it would be a good idea to start playing actual songs and decided to call Dave and talk to Harold about starting a band. Within a few days, Dave packed his stuff, moved to Santa Barbara and Rice N Beans was created. Rice N Beans played in the Santa Barbara area and traveled whenever possible for about 3 years. In the Santa Barbara area, Rice N Beans shared the stage with Snot, Dishwalla, Nutmeg, and many other great acts. In 1996, Oscar, the drummer, decided that L.A. was the place to be and moved to the City of Highland Park in Los Angeles. He started hanging out at a place called the Peace and Justice Center in Downtown L.A. and several other warehouses occupied by active artists, musicians and others involved with the advancement of the arts and its people. At these warehouses, the following bands were created and/or performed: Blues Experiment, Ozomatli, Aztlan Underground, Quetzal, Ollin, Very Be Careful, Quinto Sol, and many others. Performers such as HR from the Bad Brains, Zack De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine, members of the Watts Prophets and many other artists residing in L.A. often did spoken word or played with projects they were participating in. Rice N Beans started playing L.A. on a regular basis and released their first full length CD called POLVO. It was self-produced under the Rice N Beans record label called Chupa Cabra Records. The other three members of Rice N Beans Living in Santa Barbara eventually moved to Los Angeles.

First organized in early 1953 with Herb Fane on tenor, Bob Dykstra on lead, Bob Moksnes on baritone, and John Hansen on bass. They were all in the US Army at the time and the name “Hut-Four” came from the Army. During their two years in the army, they would sing around base at Fort Riley and around Kansas. They performed on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout, and an Army talent show hosted by Arlene Francis. After the guys got out of the Army in late 1954, the quartet temporarily broke up. In early 1955, the quartet got back together with Johnny Wheeler on tenor and Don Sundt on baritone. Johnny left the quartet after a very short time singing with them to pursue a career in acting and was replaced by Bob Spong as tenor. They started competing and won the Land O’ Lakes District Championship in 1958. They placed as high as 11th in the SPEBSQSA International Quartet Contest. In 1962, Dan Howard replaced Don Sundt as baritone. They sang on a few USO tours between 1968 and 1970 entertaining hospitalized soldiers in Japan, Okinawa, and the Philippines who were injured in Vietnam. The Hut-Four retired in 1972 after nearly 20 years of singing together. They sang over 1,400 performances, traveled nearly 400,00 miles, sang all throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Okinawa, and the Philippines, and sang as semi-finalists in the SPEBSQSA International contest seven times. Bob Spong went on to win the 1975 SPEBSQSA International Championship as the baritone of the Happiness Emporium. Bob Dykstra and John Hansen went on to sing together again for another 17 years in the “Salty Dogs” quartet. Today only Bob Dykstra and Dan Howard survive. Don Sundt died in 1999, John Hansen in 2019, and both Bob Spong and Herb Fane in 2021.

Search | Add | 2 | The Pacificaires | The Pacificaires are the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 1969 Far Western District Champions. They first formed in 1966 and won the FWD championship in 1969. The original group consisted of Mike Hemphill on tenor, Rudy Wissler on lead, Fred Drenge on baritone, and Al Huebner on bass. Bill Fritz replaced Al in 1968 and he passed away soon after. They placed 8th in their first international contest in 1969 and won the 1969 fall Far Western District Contest. They rose to third place bronze medalists in 1970. They placed 4th in the 1971 and they earned their first second place silver medal in 1972. In early 1973, Mike had to take a leave of absence from the quartet and he was replaced Al Mau, tenor of the Western Continentals. They placed second again in 1973 and released their one and only LP that same year entitled, “A Good Day.” They placed second for a third time in 1974. Following that contest, they stopped competing and decided to retire from the show circuit in 1975. In October of 1980, the Pacificaires reunited on the Napa Chapter Show with Mike Hemphill back in the tenor slot. This would be the final performance of the original Pacificaires as Fred Dregne died in 1988. They sang their last show to date in the early 1990’s with Chuck Brooks, lead of the Colonials, filling in on baritone. There is a CD of these two shows. Today only Mike Hemphill and Al Mau survive. Bill Fritz died in 1996 and Rudy Wissler died in 2007.
