Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Tito Haensel | Its musical history begins as a result of the theft of a guitar at 6 or 7 years. Yes, as he reads it, a robbery. Heansel felt a special attraction - and uncontrollable - for the ropes: "I was with my dad at the Yaguachi festivities (when these were an apotheosis thing) and I saw a guitar in one of the stalls, I asked him to buy it and he refused , but I did not stay with the pike, I reached for it and I ran. " When "doing that little prank", the owners of the place persecuted him and his father had to pay for the instrument. When he tells this story he lets out a knowing smile: "I took the guitar to the house and that's where everything started". At age 12, he met the musician Joaquín Naranjo in his neighborhood (in all of Pedro Moncayo and Padre Solano). He confesses: "When I saw him play, my fascination for music grew even more". With Naranjo he learned to sing the chords. Already "with a bigger and more professional guitar", he began to "take out" songs that he played with his "gallada". "I remember that I put a group of outlaws into the home of my poor parents (that's how he calls his musical friends) and made a scandal that you can not imagine," he laughs. "That was a time when the electric guitar was a myth, a novelty, not to mention the bass, that nobody had," says this before commenting that to facilitate the scenario, ingenuity is always appropriate: "We used to take a guitar and we put four strings. " Remember that, before, being a musician was playing for the love of the shirt, the difficulty of practicing this activity was not only limited by the economic aspect, but by the social stigma that existed: "Living from music was frowned upon, that is to say that you were drunk, drug addict and parrandero ". Already at age 17, "and more knowledgeable (experienced) in this art" recognizes that he began to "work in music and fail in studies" -he made his high school at the National Institute-. One of the stories he remembers most of that time is the occasion when he participated in an intercollegiate contest of musical bands where he won first place and "other things". "I played with my teeth. I arrived with the prize to the school and the rector told me: 'Pay the fees you owe for a pension and consider yourself a graduate' ". In addition to these 'recognitions', and after the presentation the afternoon of the contest, Josefina de Vallarino contacted him to make a suggestion: "Come to Los Corvets". He also joined groups such as Marfil and Canela, and accompanied on stage national artists Lucho Silva and Enrique González and international Leo Dan, Alberto Cortez and others, he was also a musician at the Fediscos label. Currently belongs to the Pyramide group and has its own studio. He declares that the guitar is his spoon, part of his body, and that he will continue to make music long, because despite the difficult moments, "which never fail", he always looks at things from a positive point.

Search | Add | 4 | Matteo Candura | Matteo Candura | Matteo Candura is a (musician-producer-songwriter-remixer-artist-dj-engineer-mixer) born and raised in Sicily, Italy. He has a Conservatory Diploma (old system) in Piano, a Second Level Academic Diploma (Master’s Degree) in Musical Disciplines - Music Applied To Multimedia Contexts (Department of New Technologies and Musical Languages), both obtained after many years of study in various Conservatories of Music and a First-Level Specializing University Master Degree in Audio and Entertainment Engineering, he also plays the saxophone. Now he has recently achieved the status of Apple Certified Pro - Logic Pro X, AVID Certified Operator Pro Tools | Music and AVID Certified Operator Pro Tools | Post. He has also successfully obtained a B2 Level in English. His journey towards the world of House music began when he first started DJing at the age of 14, taking his cues from the golden age of turntablism and associated culture in the late '80s and early '90s. His attentions were led towards other sounds of the era, at the same time, enjoying their first heyday. His infatuation with those classic 4/4 club sounds is something that lives and breathes vividly in his music today. He has no lofty aspirations to play arena shows or break through into the mainstream of electronic music. He'd rather stay true to the scene and surroundings he loves and develop and grow therein. "I think the most important thing for me is that people take my music as a part of me, so I don't need to play for the biggest fees in the biggest clubs, I am mainly interested in the underground scene itself and being an active and creative part of it”, he says. He enjoys creating music from different styles like House (Deep, Classic, Soulful), Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Funk and more. Across the room, his eyes are closed as he is arranging the mix with perfect detail. It is amazing just to watch, as his mind and body are one with the music. His talent was soon recognized by people like Steve “Silk” Hurley (4-Time GRAMMY® Nominated Remixer) and Joe Smooth (House music legend). They welcomed him into their record labels (Steve “Silk” Hurley and Shannon Syas owners of S&S Records Inc., and Joe Smooth owner of Obelisk Production Multimedia and Indie Art Music) both in Chicago. The legend of House music, Joe Smooth, says, “Matteo is a fantastic talent and the sound of his productions are warm, soulful and contemporary”. Matteo got an exclusive interview of the legend of House Music, Joe Smooth, from Chicago. Recently, Joe Smooth also remixed and sang a new track by Matteo Candura (Analog Mood)! Soon, other legends of House Music will collaborate with Matteo on his next tracks as producers/singers/remixers! To date, he has worked with such great artists as Faith Evans, Bobby Jones, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Joe Smooth, Jamie Principle, Sterling Void, Jerry C. King, Kim Jay, Curtis McClain, Paris Brightledge, Superfunk, Jameisha Trice, Ron Louis Smith 2nd, Eddie Nicholas, Karina Chavez, Zachary Zamarripa, Somni, SNDSTRM, Cecy Santana, Rick Ross, Sarah Daye, Fatman Scoop, Sharon Pass, Monocles, Precious Maleho, Malisha Bleau, Eddie Cuesta, Tina Cox, Leon Monroe, Artispure, Fil Straughan, Camille Rodwell, S.E.L, Kandace Lindsey, Lauren Amaris, DJ Ross, Alessandro Viale, Elexis Ansley, etc. His music productions can be found on record labels as S&S Records Inc., Skalla Records, Undercool Production, Obelisk Production Multimedia, Kingdom D.M.G., Just4Funk, Indie Art Music, Sunpire Records,Tony Records, Docka, Pop Fidelity, Veksler Records, Cabana Recordings, Deep Strips, Quantize Recordings, Smile Creations, Armada Music, Bang Record, soon, also, in many other major/indie labels. Matteo works exclusively with analogue gear, high-end plug-ins and analogue mastering. His music goes from deep house to soulful and funky, combining old school references with brand new sounds. Combining his multifaceted skills with an ear towards House music's roots, Matteo Candura is a name to watch out for! Search | Add | 4 | Downbeat Switch | Formed in 2002, disbanded in 2017. Downbeat Switch is a band of friends with a passion for music, life, and positivity. The group was founded in the Summer of 2002 in Mathews, VA by Wayne (bass) and Meredith (guitar, vocals). They moved to Richmond, VA for college that Summer and began playing with another Mathews High School friend, Michael Register (drums), who had also moved to Richmond for school. They began jamming and recording in Meredith's basement beneath his apartment in the Fan district of downtown Richmond. They soon met Bryan Clark (vocals), a Richmond-born vocalist whom they met through Meredith's sister. The band recorded and mixed their first L.P. entitled "Funk Shui", that was comprised of raw demo songs compiled on one disk which they released on June 29th, 2004. Blending rock, funk, reggae, jazz, hip hop, and folk in an eclectic ensemble of riffs, melodies, and grooves. With rhythms from the Caribbean, to Southern rock break downs, Downbeat Switch became known for their quick changes, tight rhythmic melodies, scat-like vocal harmonies, and high-energy live shows around Virginia. In 2005, Doug DeForge (keyboard, turntables), another Mathews, VA native joined the band and the band recorded a follow-up album entitled: "Seconds", which they released on July 6th of 2005. Downbeat Switch continued to tour around Virginia and North Carolina for the following three years until Doug left the band in the Fall of 2008. Tommy Vinson (keyboard), another Richmond-born musician and friend of Meredith's joined the group in the Winter of 2008. They began writing and recording in their new studio they had built in the West End of Richmond at Wayne and Meredith's house. Downbeat Switch released their third self-produced album entitled: "Run from the Sun" on June 5th, 2009. During the recording sessions of "Run from the Sun", the band brought in a talented female guest vocalist named Jenna Bayly, to add backup vocals to a few tracks on the album. She worked out beautifully in the songs she was on, and the band asked her to start performing shows with the group full time. In the Winter of 2010, Bryan left the group after 7 years as the frontman, and Jenna stepped up to become the lead vocalist with Meredith and Tommy singing backup. She brought a whole new sound and image to the band, and inspired the group to embark on a different level of musicianship. Jenna strived to diversify the sound and lyrics on new songs, while also staying true to the rich harmonies with Meredith that the band had always been known for. On October 1st, 2010, the band released an EP entitled: "The Red Door Sessions" that featured Jenna on lead vocals on 8 previously recorded and released songs from "Run from the Sun", as well as minor mixing and mastering adjustments were done. The EP was released for free at live shows and as a free download on several of the band's websites. "The Red Door Sessions" was very well received and the group was able to distribute hundreds of physical copies just within a few months. In the Winter of 2011, after 9 years as the co-founder and drummer for the group, Michael parted ways with DbS to pursue his career in marketing and embarked on an extensive U.S. tour with a promotion company. But with his recommendation and wholehearted support, the band asked their long-time friend and supporter, Rob Reardon to pick up the drumsticks. With Rob's diverse drum styles and seasoned skills, he was the perfect fit for Downbeat Switch. Shortly after Rob joined the group, Tommy stepped down as the keyboardist and was replaced by Sean Reese. A local Richmond musician who was eager to add his own flavor to the groups already diverse sound. Since then, the band continues to write, record, and perform their music for their fans all over.

Search | Add | 4 | Cubique DJ Cb | Thulani Mabena | Thulani Mabena aka “[a=Cubique DJ CB]” an African Deep, Soulful House, Hip Hop producer and DJ, hailing from a musical family. Thulani is highly influenced by his cousins Nathan Xulu "[a=Nathan X]", Mteya Xulu "Mteya" and father Calvin Xulu. Born and raised in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa. From his youth playing basketball for the national South African team for two years, Thulani’s music career began in the mid year 2005 at the age of 13, when Hip Hop was still a big part of Middelburg’s music scene. Recorded music for fun with artist like “Vague Rizemblenze, Osifiz Aeschylus”. With no success in the making of Hip Hop, Thulani had to depart from his deep art. Two years later he began doing his own music production, both Hip Hop & Dance Music. The Hip Hop lessened when the dance scene erupted at his hometown, that’s when his DJ career took place. In those days, if you were not a vinyl DJ it wasn’t easy to get into a DJ line up, let alone get paid for being a DJ. Met Nicholas Mboweni “[a=Cuebur]” who taught him more about music than anyone else could ever have. Vinyl DJ skills were self-taught when an influential DJ Ndaba Maseko “DJ Ndaba” gave him turntables as a gift for his birthday. Thulani has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career remixing songs for artists locally and internationally. Released music with labels such as Peng Music, Cabana Recordings by [a=Justin Imperiale], Nulu Recordings by [a=Antonello Coghe], Soul Candi, Melomania & artists like [a=Aphreme] & [a=Cei Bei] To Name A Few. Thulani is still doing a lot of remixing as it helps build and architect his production skills. Thulani is one of the artists doing music production for artists like [a=Troy Denari], [a=Amera Light] which are big names in the dance music scene, also doing Hip Hop production for artists like Golden Shovel of “Optical Illusion. 2011 Thulani then met a label owner “Jaguar Paw” who runs the label [l=DeepForestSA] which pushes artists like [a=Darque], [a=McGee Keys], [a=Garth & G-rel], Wishingsoul, [a=Floss], Musskid, [a=Kaylow] to name a few. Signed under the label and got recognized by other labels. |

Search | Add | 4 | Tàlveg | [a=Ferran Fages] - electric guitar [a=Marcellí Bayer] - baritone and alto saxophone [a=Oriol Roca] - drums Tàlveg. Behind this enigmatic name, we find three of the most experienced musicians of the Barcelona scene who, with only three years of work together, have managed to materialise a very personal way of facing improvisation and even transcending it. A very efficient mixture of individuality and common understanding. The method is scrupulous, the forms precise, and the sound generous. They know how to build sonic architectures that go beyond genres and get rid of the need for classification. Sound in its most direct, concise and at the same time, essential sense. But, if we talk about a method, it is precisely because procedure is the cornerstone of this whole building; with implicit boundaries that are never guessed, but which support each gesture and each intervention. The sound circulates as a single flow made of intriguing and captivating textures. The compositions or, perhaps it is better to say, guided improvisations are generated with a careful concentration and a limpid vision of a global sound, which allows room for the interventions and leaves more space for the listener’s interpretation. To allow them to participate fully in the experience. And "space" is the word that curiously comes to mind when listening to this music; and then the word "arid". Although sometimes the space is saturated, we sense that it is with full consciousness; in the same way that this imaginative aridity, sometimes reduced to a few harmonics, is expanded with grunts and bursts that end up flooding the space with sound. The work on listening is absolutely fundamental in this trio. To better distribute energy, each contribution is strategically dispensed; close to the form of an oratorio, but without the solemnity or religiousness that characterises it, each piece alternates possible combinations, not only to better highlight and expand the timbres and atmospheres, but also to not exhaust the global form. This alternation opens up the listening, eliminates expectation and ensures that our attention never lowers its guard. When the storm arrives, it is both beneficial and brutal at the same time; and soon, it becomes a catharsis. Tàlveg possesses the energy of the power trio and, in addition, the intelligence of proportion; each instrument has the necessary space to be able to affirm itself without having to make a place among the others; as if they all had their doors open to manifest themselves, but only at very specific moments. And every time they appear alone, their presence seems unconditional and we never miss the others. Here, structural rigour exceeds the most visceral spirit, without any ostentation; but, even so, there is an organic strength in this structure. An emotionally intense journey on course to discovery, which undoubtedly activates the imagination. Alfredo Costa Monteiro, December 2021

A dark warehouse, a distant strobe light and unrepentant dancing by people from all walks of life with an affinity toward the darkness of repetitive delayed out reverberating basslines and drum beats. This is what I recall of my first underground party under the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, circa 2001. This experience spoke to me. In fact, this event set the stage for what has been 20 years of musical cultivation and growth. Many life detours have taken place along the way, but techno has been a constant through it all. |

Search | Add | 4 | Pat Fontes | Patrick Fontes | Being quoted by his peers as "Mr. Techno" this humble encyclopedia of electronic music knowledge has been there, and done that, and is still finding ways to capture the imagination of others through his music! Pat Fontes' love affair with music began at the tender age of 11 during the early 90s- collecting mix tapes he’d purchased at the local Portuguese market. As a teen he quickly progressed to buying records en mass of garage and house vinyl. By 16 Pat started DJing throughout Boston, and by the early 2000s was managing and later became owner of Satellite Records. During this time Pat was also a resident DJ and manager of the long standing often heralded, Midweek Techno in Cambridge with buddies Soul Clap. As a 22-year industry veteran and local hero Pat Fontes has shared the stage with the likes of Martin Buttrich, Paco Osuna, Timo Maas, Cassy, Pan Pot, The Orb, and Patrice Bamel. Pat’s production style is uniquely his own ranging from upbeat tech house to deep melancholic techno and house. His discography includes releases with Slumber (Amber Cox & Oona Dahl), Martin Eyer, and Derek Marin. In 2017, after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) Pat began focusing all of his energies towards his love of music and sharing that passion with others. “My emotions run much deeper than I could imagine and I’ve been learning how to leverage this creatively. I haven’t stopped doing what I love for 21 years- and will continue ‘til I physically can’t, and have since left my mark on this world of music and beyond.” Fontes is excited to share his upcoming release on Re.tune and Future is Now Recordings with the world, as well as some gems from techno’s past, present, and future |

Search | Add | 4 | Port Talbot Cymric Male Choir | The Cymric as it is affectionately known is one of the oldest choirs in Wales having been established in 1911 by Mr John Bowen Davies. During the 1920’s and 30’s it competed regularly in local Eisteddfodau and during this period it sang at some unusual and interesting venues. In 1927 it fulfilled a week’s booking at The Palace Theatre Blackpool for the princely fee of £75.00, and in 1935 was invited by Randolph Hearst the newspaper magnate to sing at St Donat’s Castle in South Wales for celebrities of the film and newspaper world. The choir has had the privilege of appearing at The Royal Albert Hall in London in the presence of the Queen and HRH Prince Phillip and is extremely proud of the fact that during a concert tour of Deeside Aberdeenshire in 1990 the choir was invited to sing at Crathie Church Balmoral when both the Queen and HRH Prince Edward were in attendance. The Queen expressed her delight at the choirs singing and subsequently invited Choristers to Balmoral Castle. In May 1991 Rita Macneil , made a concert tour of the UK and during her appearance at St David’s Hall Cardiff she invited the Cymric on stage where she expressed her delight at the ‘Cymric’s rendition of her song ‘The Working Man’ and subsequently graciously allowed the choir to perform additional items. Since its inception the choir has had Six Musical Directors, On the death of John Bowen Davies in 1957 , the baton was handed over to Mrs Iris Evans Thomas who had been the Choir’s Accompanist since 1927. She remained the Musical Director until her death in 1973 when Roger Chicott who directed the Choir up until his regrettable passing in 2001 succeeded her. Mr Gareth Sims held the position until 2005, when he was succeeded Mrs Mair Jones who retired from the Choir in 2015. Matthew Lewis was appointed as the Choir’s Musical Director in October 2015

Search | Add | 4 | Feral is the Kid | Jake Zimkiewicz | On his debut album, Feral is the Kid confronts themes of darkness, grief, loss, and death - all themes that have surrounded the human condition in some way, shape, or form. Though an exaggeration of real life events, the record is rooted in realism in some way. The 48 minute concept record follows the likes of it's titular character, Kid Vicious. Real life situations inspired the 11 tracks on the record. From the death of family members to the loss of friendships. From the feeling of self hate to the confusion of religion and spiritualism. While the record might have an unfortunate ending, this is just the beginning of a story years in the making for Feral is the Kid. Born Jake Zimkiewicz in Massachusetts, Zimkiewicz wasn't brought into a musical family. It was only when he showed interest at a young age that he was placed in voice lessons from the local church choir director. After singing in church and seeming to grow musically, Zimkiewicz moved to Florida with his family. At the age of fourteen, he composed his own tracks in his bedroom. He created some of his first songs (some of which you may be able to find online still) and began what would eventually become the Feral is the Kid project. "Music is something I'll always have. It's always something I'll be involved in. Once I start, I can't stop. This is only the beginning." |
