Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 La Famille Gilles Vincent In 1972, Gilles Vincent introduced his children early to the world of music and entertainment. Katie (Katy) 10 years old then played drums and sang. Steve 9 years old played guitar and Joanne (Joan) 6 years old did comedy and sang with her father. For about ten years, they performed on the Côte Nord and in the Gaspé Peninsula. There was even a fan club. In Montreal they obtained contracts and worked for Mr. Richer, Mr. Tremble and Mr. Grimaldi's wife, who at the time owned a theatre agency. It was from 1984 that the family stopped performing in shows. Mr. Vincent continued alone or with one of his daughters, performing in telethons and volunteering time to help the sick and disabled.

Search Add 2 Mr Mora Mr Mora Born in 1974 in Rabat (capital of Morocco). DJ Mora, grew up in Marrakech, city where the worldwide cultures mix with the Moroccan traditions giving it a worldwide single character. In 1991, Mr Mora obtains his Bachelor diploma and 10 years afterwards, he obtains his PhD in environmental sciences. Since he was a youngster, Mr Mora listened to all kinds of music, from classical ones to the darkest passing through the Blues, Jazz, R'n'B, Pop, Funky, Rap, Hip Hop, Arabic. His passion for music pushes him to organize and plays in parties where he could bewith his friends, and it is there that he discovers his talent of being a producer. To make his friends feel the tracks differently, Mora, still amateur DJ, acquired a computer, dating from prehistory and some audio softwares to be able to compile his tracks. And there, it happens! The desire for producing his own tracks took possession of Mora. Y2K! An era where things are moving fastly, new technologies are developed and EDM takes seat among the music of rising generation. Thus Mr Mora falls in love with EDM. Being of nature independent, he wants to be identified with a kind of music which shows at the same time his origins and involves them in this new era where we live.

Search Add 2 Born With a Basic Goodness Born With a Bbasic Goodness is a metal-hardcore project, born roughly three years ago. After one year spent finding a personal sound, that included anger and frustration - of course - but also some smiles, the band signed with Overdub Recordings. “Based on your preferences”, the band’s first full-length album, was produced at Monolith Recording Studio by Filippo Buono. It is somewhat of a concept album that talks about our alternative lives, the ones we all live on Social Networks; about the issues and the horrors created there. And also about all those things that frankly make us laugh preeetty hard.

Search Add 2 Skulpey In 1993 Heather Mount and Matthew Covey decamped from the indie-rock crucible of Oberlin College. They then relocated to Trencin, Slovakia, and took up with an emerging local scene with prodigious drummer Palo Chalupka, and formed Skulpey. Infusing the jagged pop of Helium and Rodan with the polyrhythmic churning sound of local bands like Dunaj and Psi Vojaci, the band spent a year gigging around Slovakia and Czech Republic, including and early show at the Pohoda Festival. The band completed one U.S. tour and a SXSW showcase before going on what proved to be a more or less permanent hiatus in 1999. Covey and Mount continued to play into the aughts, doing limited European dates as “Schooner,” including the Sziget Festival in 2001.

Search Add 2 Ernie Terrell Ernest "Ernie" Terrell Ernei Terrell (April 4, 1939 – December 16, 2014) in Belzoni, Mississippi, was a 20th century American professional boxer who competed from 1957 to 1973. Terrell began boxing professionally in 1957 and simultaneously launched a popular singing group in Chicago with his sister, [a763718], who later replaced Diana Ross with the Supremes. During his first year of boxing, he won all five of his fights, knocking out three of his opponents. He continued to excel, winning fight after fight over the next several years. Terrell also continued to perform with his musical group, Ernie Terrell and the Heavyweights. After the World Boxing Association stripped Muhammad Ali of his title as heavyweight champion in 1965, Terrell finally got a chance for the label. He defeated Eddie Machen for the vacant title and retained it until February 6, 1967. That day, he fought in his most famous match against [a669210] in Houston, Texas and lost after 15 grueling rounds. Ali, who had changed his name from Cassius Clay after converting to Islam, took offense to Terrell using his "slave name" and repeatedly shouted, "What's my name?" throughout the match. Terrell lost his two remaining fights that year and announced his retirement in December. However, he returned to the ring two years later, beating Sonny Moore on December 15 in 10 rounds. Terrell continued to win his matches, and on June 23, 1973, he earned another shot at becoming a heavyweight champion. However, Chuck Wepner defeated him in 12 rounds in an extremely controversial decision. Terrell boxed in his last fight on September 23 of that year. After retiring permanently from boxing, Terrell became a music producer in Chicago. Terrell also had a brief stint in politics when he lost the 1987 election for alderman of Chicago's 34th ward. In October of 2004, he was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.

Search Add 2 להקת הפסגות The Psagot Band is a band that mainly performs at parties, it was founded with David Kribushi as a singer in 1975 and later was replaced with Itzik Zamir. In 1994, it released an album called "We Came to Make Joy", which was a great success mainly due to the song "Zingerla", the Hebrew words of which were written by Sharit Barness based on a gypsy tune by Burda Novkovic. "Zingerla" became a big hit in Israel and following the The Psagot Band it was recorded by other artists including Enrico Macias, who recorded it in French for his performances in Israel that year... Miri Mor, the band's singer, is a native of Eilat, who was first discovered in Shalom Hanoch's "White Wedding" show where she appeared as one of the backing singers.
