Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Sistanagila The Israeli and Iranian musicians living in Berlin are seeking dialogue with their project. The musicians demonstrate this dialogue in Sistanagila by approaching each other, listening to each other with curiosity and playing together. Carried by centuries-old Jewish and Iranian musical traditions, the musicians embark on a journey that ultimately leads them to themselves They make use of folkloristic and religious melodies from klezmer, Sephardic and traditional Persian music as well as modern and classical compositions. The different melodies and motifs, rearranged with influences ranging from flamenco and jazz to progressive metal, merge into music that creates something completely new and builds a bridge between two worlds.

Организатор и художественный руководитель: [a3815478] -------------------------------------- The ethnosphere project brings together outstanding musicians, composers, and folklorists whose work is connected with the ethnic culture of the peoples of Russia. This is not just a Union of famous creative personalities, but a rapidly developing cultural movement that aims to attract the attention of professional musicians, creative youth and all those who care about the fate of Russian culture to the problem of preserving and developing the Russian tradition in new forms of modern music. The genre palette of the project "ethnosphere" is extremely diverse: from acoustic solo instruments, bells and old Russian choral singing to jazz, fusion, pop and electronic compositions. The composition of virtuoso musicians performing within the project is no less diverse.

She returned to the United States in the early 1950s and her transformation was the subject of a New York Daily News front page story. She became an instant celebrity, using the platform to advocate for transgender people and became known for her directness and polished wit. She also worked as an actress and nightclub entertainer and recorded several songs

Search Add 2 Ilja De Neve Band Ilja De Neve aka Ilias Scotch is a singer and keyboard player who lives for his music and whose roots lie deep down in blues and boogie-woogie piano. His singing and playing remind us of the great blues artists of the previous century. However, in his shows, Ilja combines various styles easily and always uses his original 'twist', playing both original songs and well-chosen covers. Gigging regularly since the age of sixteen, Ilja De Neve now has a proven track record performing many shows in Belgium and Europe.

Search Add 2 Adolfo Doring Adolfo Doring is an award-winning American documentary filmmaker and director of music videos. Doring came to New York City in the mid-eighties to study Sociology at Columbia University, then interned for Rock and Roll photographer Joel Brodsky. Doring began his film career in middle school when he started using Super 8 film to make small documentaries as a way to avoid term papers. The combination of his photographic skills and well-developed understanding of cinematic language led him to an early career in cinematography. Adolfo was Director of Photography for the classic grunge music videos for Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Republic of Loose, Screaming Trees, Stone Temple Pilots, while also flying back east to work in the hip hop world (Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Naz, Redman). Doring's first directing job for Atlantic Records was for heavy metal group Testament. It led to direct music videos for artists including Sting, Savage Garden, Bon Jovi, Vanessa Mae, Hootie and the Blowfish, Gin Blossoms, The Dixie Chicks, Diana Krall and Del Amitri amongst others. In 1994 Doring won an MTV Video Music Award for the Hootie and the Blowfish single, "Hold My Hand", and directed the video for the band's next single, "Let Her Cry", which was that year's most played video. He was nominated by the MVPA for Best Country Video for The Dixie Chicks' "You Were Mine".

Nach einer ersten Zusammenarbeit entstand die erste Veröffentlichung „The Annerly EP“ mit den Titeln „Be my Baby“, „Summer in your eyes“, „Take me to your heaven“ und „Maybe Maybe Maybe“.

His debut EP Vinceremo ancora was released on June 20, 2016, a record full of sounds ranging from folk rock, to alternative up to 60s & 70s rock, with lyrics with strong songwriting connotations, but with the cutting immediacy of indie. Subsequently, on June 30, the music video of Scintille was released, directed by Low Party Prod. on a conceptual idea of Alberto himself. The video, with dark and dreamlike features, also made with the use of vintage films, creates a sort of inner chaos by depicting the words of the lyrics, touching on themes such as nostalgia, lack and pain. Alberto grew up listening to Bob Dylan. One of the first albums he listened to was Blonde On Blonde (1966). He also cites John Lennon, The Beatles, Tame Impala, Timber Timbre and Verdena as influences.

Come artisti italiani i primi furono i vecchi Articolo 31 , Neffa e i messaggeri e 99 Posse. Search Add 2 Mark R Taylor Mark Richard Bush Taylor From the composer: I was born in the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, on 7th October 1961, to a working family with roots in rural Essex (NE of London, England), where I still reside. My maternal great-grandfather led the town band on the penny whistle; in 1904, Vaughan Williams collected folk-songs in the road where he lived, though I've no evidence Charles sang to VW! Electrified as a boy of 4 by the sound of my mother playing the piano at home, I demanded she teach me, made precocious progress, and almost at once commenced writing my own little pieces. Very lucky with early teachers, I progressed with scholarships to Brentwood School, where such music as there was remained largely extra-curricular (though Art and Languages were strong). I was chosen to play to Dame Fanny Waterman at a young pianists' masterclass at the 1975 Aldeburgh Festival; after lessons at the Royal Academy of Music with Alexander Kelly (later Head of Keyboard there), in 1978 I gained the ARCM Performer's Diploma, and was Regional Finalist in the BBC 'Young Musician Of The Year' Competition. I was by this time playing concertos with orchestras, including as rehearsal-pianist to the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, having been noticed by their Musical Director when she was adjudicating locally. I'd become a voracious devotee of the BBC's new-music output, and had, furthermore, discovered for myself such seminal books as Michael Nyman's 'Experimental Music: Cage And Beyond', and had now already produced compositions I continue to acknowledge. In 1979 I gained an Open Scholarship to read Classics & Modern Languages at the University of Oxford; before taking it up, in 1980, I played to Jorge Bolet at a week of masterclasses at the Edinburgh Festival. Once at Oxford, I changed subject to read Music; I performed (studying now with Susan Bradshaw), wrote music-criticism for undergraduate publications, ran the University Contemporary Music Group, and joined the (non-University) composers' collective 'Soundpool'. Accepted for Post-Graduate study, but denied a grant by the policies of the Thatcher government, I worked, being asked to teach in the Music Department of Royal Holloway, University of London, from 1986, and subsequently at King's College, London, and in the Music Faculty at Oxford (this latter leading in due course to Lectureships, at Lincoln College, Lady Margaret Hall, and Oriel), whilst also giving pre-concert talks at the Wigmore Hall, and tutoring for the Workers' Educational Association. I had sought out first Howard Skempton and subsequently Horatiu Radulescu for guidance on composition; hailed as 'very different and quite remarkable' (Richard Barrett, in 'Tempo', 1988), and as an early avatar of what would come to be dubbed 'The New Complicity' (Geoff Hannan and others' term, to connote that particularly 1990's aesthetic convergence of the European avant-garde with American Experimentalism), my music -- solo and chamber -- was to be taken up by such distinguished interpreters as John Tilbury, Julian Jacobson, Ian Pace, Carl Rosman, Darragh Morgan, and Michael Finnissy; increasing exposure, nationally and internationally, saw it released on CD on the French 'Do' label in 1992, as well as being broadcast and published. I was also Featured Composer at new music festivals in Oxford (1992), Cardiff ('Explorations', 1999), and London (2000). My close involvement with artists working in visual media has led to invitations to exhibit in my own right, in London and in Amsterdam (this latter, in 2002, under the aegis of the British Council). The recent enthusiasm of New York-based pianist Teodora Stepančić has resulted in her releasing an entire album of my music, on the 'Another Timbre' label (2018).
