Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | Strip The Threads | Strip The Thread’s short existence in 2001, which only lasted for a year, left a memorable impact upon the Dutch Straight Edge hardcore scene. At the time, there were very few European bands who played straight forward clean-cut hardcore, inspired by the ones from a recent past such as Chain of Strenght, Hands Tied, Mouthpiece and Over The Line. On top of that: Strip The Threads consisted of members who were committed to the Straight Edge, (formerly) being part of bands like Reaching Forward, Know Your Enemy, Abusive Action, Product X and One Day Closer. With a budget of no more than just a couple of euros, the band released a limited edition 6 song demo-tape that was recorded in someone’s basement within a day. It sold out immediately and has never been re-released ever since, not until the songs were re-recorded and released as the "Won't hold back" EP by NOT JUST WORDS records not until 2010, but including two new songs. A year after their last show Strip The Threads made a guest appearance at the final show of fellow band Reaching Forward in 2002, the last time that all of the original members got together to play for a completely packed Goudvishal (Arnhem/Holland). A demo, some shirts, a handfull of shows and an amazing EP is what's left of Strip The Thread's legacy. Strip The Threads was: Johan - vocals Arthur - guitar Harm / Arold - bass Daan - drums Strip The Threads on the EP-recording: Johan - vocals / guitar Ries - drums Arthur - guitar / bass

Search | Add | 6 | Syncretism | Syncretism, NOUN : the amalgamation of different religions, cultures or schools of thought. Dave Scotland and Peter Koppes first met in a different time as musical partner guitarists in a Glam Rock band called Baby Grande. Achieving some notoriety and success, the band ran its fiery course but ultimately fell apart. Peter soon after became one of the founding members of The Church which has become one of the enduring Australian acts able to achieve world wide success. Meanwhile, Dave kept away from the spotlight after an unproductive solo recording career with Wizard Records, at the time a part of EMI. But he kept songwriting and recording because the flame wouldn't go out. Recently, an opportunity arose for Peter and Dave to revive their musical co-writing and performing friendship. The music flowed from this and suddenly a first album was born with all instruments played by Peter and Dave. Peter wrote wonderful story-telling lyrics that allowed Dave to record vocals on the songs. The resulting record is very much a collaborative effort. This is and we are Syncretism.

Search | Add | 6 | Draaiorgel de Vijfbeelden | Draaiorgel De Vijf Beelden | Dutch barrel organ (street organ) "De Vijf Beelden" (The Five Figures). Originally build before 1910 in Paris by the Gasparini company and named after the five figures at its front, one conductor, two calling ladies and two rigid (not moving) ladies in dance posture. In 1926, when it belonged to Louis Holvoet, completely remodeled by the Carl Frei company in Breda, which removed the figures in the front and added two side panels with fashionably dressed ladies. After it was acquired by Henk Möhlmann from Amsterdam, the organ's front received three new figures, in addition to the side panels, so that it again deserved its original name, "De Vijf Beelden." |

Search | Add | 6 | Amor A Traición | Spanish pop-rock group from San Sebastian (1983-1997), until 1994 they didn't released their first LP. First line-up: Rafael Berrio (vocals, composer), José Manuel Puerto (guitar), Enrique “Endika” Cámara (bass) and José López (drums). Their first gig was in December 31th of 1983, becoming the opening act for Spear Of Destiny concert. They even performed on a couple of occasions at the Ekaitz Pub in Lequeitio, Vizcaya. They would record in the Tsunami studios a total of six cuts waiting to be laminated, 'November', 'Bad winks',' Betrayal love ',' Hero of the Baltic ',' Candy usually says' and 'Through the night ', but his opportunity to press his first album was, for the moment, in borage waters. Already in the second half of the eighties, the group disappeared into the shadow zone. For long years, they secluded themselves in the rehearsal rooms, acting sporadically, until, again, for Shanti Records they recorded in 1991, their first LP at the Du Manoir studios (Landes, France) but unfortunately, the album would remain unpublished because of the subsequent bankruptcy of the record label. Second failed record attempt. After a time, they created, with the collaboration of the writer Iñaki Berrio (Rafael's brother), a new repertoire that interested the multinational Warner, which finally produced in early 1994 at Estudios IZ from Amasa (Guipúzcoa), what It would be his first LP, known as "black disc". It had an excellent critical reception, although not so good promotion, which had a negative impact on its sales ratio. In 1996, José Manuel Puerto (guitar) and José López (drums) left the band and José Luis “Cheli” Lanzagorta joined the keyboards (Orquesta Mondragón, Puskarra, La Buena Vida), Paúl Zubillaga (guitar) and Iñaki de Lucas on drums (La Buena Vida and producer of Estudio De Lucas). As a result of false expectations, they soon manage to disassociate themselves from the multinational company, which allowed them to prepare in 1997 and in the recently inaugurated Estudio De Lucas (San Sebastián), their second and last work, a new limited edition Lp titled "Una canción de mala muerte". They had the executive production of Diego Vasallo. In the promotional part they had to face a self-managed tour with some critical and public success. Soon after, the group would eventually dissolve.

Search | Add | 6 | Carl Thien | Grew up in Long Island a little too young to be fully part of the first wave NYC CBGB/Max's scenes, but nonetheless able to get into shows, which became a huge influence on future endeavors. Enjoyed music discussions with Jimi LaLumia, who worked in a local Sam Goody's and guided me to my first independent record store, Norlee's in Ronkonkoma. First studio recordings were with Vial Of Life, all friends and from the same area. Moved to Boston in 1983 and played in Sinn Fein, then fell in love with the Paisley Underground sound. Moved to Los Angeles by invite of David Roback to play in post-Clay Allison band, which didn't quite work out. Fell in love with the Nardcore and skate scene in LA and super fast hardcore with Ill Repute as favorite band. Jammed several times with Sylvia Juncosa. Moved to Santa Cruz. Moved back to Boston and joined GingerBread Men, bringing the NYC/Paisley/HC unlikely blend into songs. Started Gull Records and put out a GBM 7" (another came out on Arf Arf). More studio recordings were made at the time which have become a new Gull Records release. Became a College radio DJ, first at Harvard's WHRB, then Boston College's WZBC (Gulls Window Circus still airs every Tuesday 5-7pm EST). Formed Turkish Delight after seeing Kudgel at a Billy Ruane Birthday show, blending that sound with west coast bands such as Oiler, and the Atlanta band Pineal Ventana. In 2017 started the art punk band Gull Boy, currently in its fifth lineup and going strong.

Search | Add | 6 | Wasafiri | The jazz fusion group Wasafiri began with the memory of a feeling. Eastwood Music Group co-founders Luke Sardello and Skin Wade wanted to release a project that evoked the feelings they had when they first discovered the 70’s era fusion works of Herbie Hancock and Weather Report and Return to Forever. Upon linking with fellow Dallas native Max Gerl (bassist/composer), an alum of Berklee College of Music and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts, they knew they’d found someone to bring their concept to life. A well-studied musician/producer and mentee of jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke, Gerl understood the particular feeling Wade and Sardello sought to recreate.

Search | Add | 6 | Neon Voyagers | In 2021, NEON VOYAGERS were born in Patras Greece . They consist of Alexandros Tzamalis and Tryfonas Tryfonopoulos and aim to bring 80's sounds full of analog synthesizers and Neon lights to today. The creative duo grew up in the age of Neon light. They were experientially nourished by music from John Carpender's films. Grew up with tv shows like the Voyagers, Knight Rider, Doctor Who, Tales from the crypt. When games were 8bit and movies in VHS.The sounds of NEON VOYAGERS are captured by analog synthesizers and drum machines. This neon voyagers 2023 self-titled debut album is the first full length completed work. It is undeniably a genuine example of synthwave. The cinematic approach as the 10 tracks unfolds in a selected order is a composed transition from dark post apocalyptic to neo-romantic feelings of a first date at a drive inn.As they characteristically note, "we are space-time travelers in a musical Neon universe. We live in the present, the future, the past at all times. Bean me up Scotty. We are the Neon Voyagers."

Search | Add | 6 | Dimitry Liss | Dimitry Lisionok | Dimitry Liss, was born on the 18th day of December 1985 in the city of Vladivostok, Russia. Soon after he relocated to Tyumen, Siberian City where he spend the first 15 years of his life. Music and sports were the only activities that kept him going in the oil- rigged city. At home his father was his main influence and shaped his perception of music. Dad was deeply rooted in good old school rock, in the likes of Beatles, Nazareth, CCR, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne. Didn’t take long for Dimitry to pick up the tennis racket and rock on at the tender age of 4. In addition, his mother's friend was a piano teacher who started tutoring young Dimitry from an early age, which initially was perceived as hardworking and difficult - became easy and interesting. Sports was his little sanctuary, where the body exercised and the mind relaxed, composing a flow of ideas that later on grew more complex. The year was 2002, Dubai was the new city that would in turn add to his aural perception. In the United Arab Emirates he completed high school; in a poly-cultural environment were music, culture and technology coincide hand in hand. His younger brother formed a metal-band soon after Dimitry joined him to express their ideas, in a more sophisticated level. Rhythm guitar intrigued Dimitry and still does to this day. The band has composed over 20 original pieces over the last years, with tastes of heavy metal, brutal death, melodic and the like and now more diverse and stronger than ever. After school Dimitry set off to Prague to study business, however his journey was cut short. Within a year his passion guided him to follow another path. In 2006, back to square one, he joined an audio engineering school in Dubai. Where he successfully completing his audio engineering degree in 2007 and was honored with a bachelor’s degree in Arts. The educational experience equipped him with several valuable tools; and his perception of music grew immensely. Now being able to put each and every one of his ideas on canvas. In this educational journey, he met his co-producer artist, Costas Papa. Although Costas was heavily influenced from house, trance and techno; at some level they had similar visions. This gave birth to the Dimitry Liss & Costas Papa "coalition", formed in 2007 to serve the global community with quality electronic music. Although the project is like a new born baby, it has crawled into several leading indie labels such as Bit Records Mexico, Xela Recordings, Stranamente Records, Total Wipes, Reticent Recordings to name a few. However, Dimitry did not stop there as in early 2009 he ventured to explore the music world in his solo career by signing with few more major underground labels like Frisky Records and Balkan Connection South America Records. Currently Dimitry Liss supports electronic music, he is heavily involved with Dimitry Liss & Costas Papa duo project and his own work as a producer and a DJ, crafting brand new progressive, tech, deep, minimal house tracks for your enjoyment. |

Search | Add | 6 | Earth-Wheel-Sky-Band | Earth-Wheel-Sky Band | After almost 40 years on stage, legendary figure of musical scene in Novi Sad, Olah Vince is stepping big step forward, with his band. Basic instrumentation, guitar, violin, cymbalom, doublebass, percussions, voice, no electronic gadgets or keyboards, simple, but pleasurable indeed. Even "India" is involved. Or the old song from Southern Serbia, re-arranged, but with maestro Boban Markovic on trumpet. Expression is everything, they know how to slow down or lift you up. While Vince had his own bands for ages or collaborated with many local musicians (currently he is a member of Boris Kovac's LaDaABa Orchest), some of his band members performed with Lajko Felix and some also with their own bands. Region of Serbia where they are living, called Vojvodina is part of Panonia, where influences are so mixed, and them, being Gypsies can make something creative out of that. Olah Vince, the Gypsy activist, is not satisfied to live one life, he is helping others, trying to establish Gypsy radio in Novi Sad, but he cannot live without playing music. Are we not all Gypsies? Listen to this music, dance, shout be Gypsy, be free. |
