Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Succsexx | Succsexx is a Toronto based rock quintet that got their start on Halloween night in 1987 at the famed Toronto nightclub Heaven. The 1987 line-up featured members from Toronto bands [a816715], [a4829535] and [a503011]. Shortly after the inaugural performance the line-up evolved into their mainstay membership featuring Saxx Creed (vocals), Gypsy LaRose (guitar), Michael McV (guitar), Justin Zane (bass) and Johnny Rude (drums). As the group’s live stage show, equal parts camp-glam and zany matured, Succsexx built a loyal and strong following with headline engagements at Toronto venues El Mocambo, Lee’s Palace, Masonic Temple, The Diamond Club and Rock ‘N’ Roll Heaven.

Search | Add | 3 | Paramonic | Paramonic | Paramonic is a collaborative project between UK based musicians Kevin '33'(Cacophony'33') and Sean Mowle(CHROMATIKA) started during the Covid lockdown of 2020/21. The pair have been friends for a while and discussed the idea of collaborating by sending stems and ideas between themselves without ever being in the same room. Within a few weeks they had over 12 songs finished, surprising even themselves, and are continually building on their compositions for the near future and beyond. |

Search | Add | 3 | GemValleyMusiQ | GemValleyMusiQ, are considered with Toxicated Keys as pioneers of the Rough Amapiano genre. The three members of GemValleyMusiQ (22-yo Comfort Mphahlele aka Rushky D' MusiQ , 23-yo Phuti Makhafola aka Phuddy Jay and 18-yo Ofentse Mauwane aka Drumonade) kept some of the basic principles of classic Amapiano : mid-tempo BPMs, syncopated beats and energetic, party-oriented vocals. But they stripped out the warmth and sweetness of the original version and made room for robotic vibes an eerie feel of never-ending pressure. They produce mid-tempo house music, like regular Amapiano, but its swing sounds from another world : it's called the "clunk bass", and it's both dark and uplifting. Around it moves two-note motifs and drum patterns, with jazzy vamps and sunrise-ready synths. This is music you could almost chill to, but actually mental enough to make you go slowly crazy on the dancefloor. Recently, GemValleyMusiQ released the single Jozi Night which was considered as one of the hottest viral songs on TikTok last summer. And they remixed of the French pop band Phoenix. It's coming from the future, and this is now out on PSSNGR, a new label dedicated to emerging African electronic.

Search | Add | 3 | Ami Collé Dieng | Amy Collé Dieng | Amy Collé Dieng is part of a younger generation of female singers in Senegal. Born in the town of Thies, 70 km East of Dakar, she grew up in Dakar. Youssou N'Dour has seen her sing when she was young, and she remained in contact with him over the years. Since 2003, she has been part of Youssou's Super Etoile de Dakar as a backing vocal. Amy participated in international tours with the Super Etoile, also following the release of « Egypt », the Grammy Award-winning album with traditional musicians from Dakar as well as Egypt [1]. Amy also sang as backing vocal with Ndongo Lo and Kiné Lam [2]. In 2006, Amy Collé recorded her first album « Defar Ba Mou Baax » for the label Jololi, the label of Youssou N'Dour. The album was an instant success, and the title song is still a well-loved song in Senegal. The success seemed to have a side-effect as well, as in 2009, the singer started a legal procedure against a publicity company because of unauthorised use of the song in a TV ad for Rama butter in Senegal [3]. In 2011, she leaves Jololi and signs with the Dub Records label in the Netherlands. Amy Collé recorded with Dub Records her second album «Maturité » in 2013. With popular new songs such as « Naby », « Fans Yi » and « Sama Choix », several high-standard video clips were made, and plans were ready for an international tour. In 2019, she came back with a single « Muñel », again for Prince Arts. |

In the late 1970's Asbjørn Hollund and Roar Nordhagen joined, and the group changed name to To+To+To. For their recording debut three years later, they changed the name to 2+2+2 ("To" is Norwegian for the number 2, but the record company felt that spelling it with digits would be more "marketable"). Two years after that, Elisabeth Nordhagen left the group to focus on her family, and Tom Sennerud and Rune Rudberg joined the group. Appears to have been active till early 1985, after which the two Holm sisters and Rune Rudberg continued as the short-lived [a1459122].

They play original folkloric music, which takes its time and movement from the houses of prayer and the gospel, the trumpets of the saints, Chinese calligraphy, and as well as from the never-ending enchantment of the earth - grass, sea, rock, lightning, thunder, and morning stars. The band performs the compositions and songs of Nitay Kelly, the lead singer of the band. The songs are hymns, lamentations, and prayers to the mystery that may help carry the wounded to this miracle. |

Genre: World Music / Afro Manding / Gambian Afrobeat / Dance Music / Independend Music… According to critics, they are »one of the most influential bands in The Gambia«, but still mostly »[u]nknown to the Western listener. Active since the 1980s. Powered by the Jarju Brothers. Utilising electric guitar, drums, bass and keyboard to mix and adapt the different elements of traditional Gambian music and culture to create a new Gambian sound.« (Chicken Attack Records, G.B., that produced and distributes the before 2019 E.P. »Abarake Bake«.) »The band is named after a powerful historic village in The Gambia, where slaves were transported to America and Europe. This is the village where a brave slave called Kunta Kinteh was born. His name spread in most parts of the world. We named the band after this village to sustain the historic momentum and name of the village.« — »Juffureh Band is a long time band from the early nineteen-eighties. A lot of musicians passed through this band. We recorded few albums, and two among them, one was done with musicians from England, and another one with a saxophone player from Germany.« (Founding member A.S.J.) In the beginning the musicians were dependend to construct their own musical devices. Still they welcome technical support regarding musical instruments that are hard to obtain in The Gambia for them, further they need financial support of their musical work. Current line-up: Mamina Jarju electric guitar, Mafougi Jammeh (may he rest in peace!) vocal, Ebrima Jammeh vocal, Haruna Jassey vocal, Amadou Tailor keyboards, Ebou Jarju bass, Lamin Drammeh drums and percussion, Ansuman Saine percussion; founding member Abdou (Sam) Jarju kora, guitar, keyboard and sound engineering. Search | Add | 3 | Leonid Sabaneev | Леонид Леонидович Сабанеев [Leonid Leonidovich Sabaneyev] | Born: 1881-10-01 (Moscow, Russia) Died: June 03, 1968 (Antibes, France) Leonid Sabaneev was a Russian musicologist, music critic, composer and scientist. Leonid Sabaneev [preferable & more common form is 'Sabaneyev'] was a Russian composer, musicologist, music critic & scientist. Son of a prominent naturalist & hunting/fishing expert, he studied mathematics, physics & natural sciences at the Moscow University while additionally attending historical/philological courses. Also, he was able to receive a high-class musical education, with some of the best teachers around (e.g. [a= Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov], among others). By 1920s he became a famous – if rather scandalous & (self-)contradictory - music critic; as well as a music theorist, both highly innovative & inconsistent. A colourful & eccentric person, he was a close friend of [a= Alexander Scriabine] & a good acquaintance of many significant (musical or not) figures of the era, impressions of which relations later finding themselves in print in his highly acclaimed memoirs. However, almost throughout his life, regularly though not exactly prolifically, he has been writing his own music – beginning at the turn of the 20th century & ending (obviously/mostly) somewhere in 1940s. He finished orchestration score for a grandiose oratorio 'The Revelation of St. John' (aka simply 'Apocalypse'), high-demanding & time-devouring on the author's part, in 1940; still, according to reports, he continued working at the opus until his last years. The score is believed to be entombed up to this day in some US archives, unpublished. Yielding to looming shadows of dreadful changes, Sabaneyev left Russia in 1926 & relocated to Paris where he was still engaged in busy & diverse music-related activities (composed/staged a ballet; published a good book on history of Russian music; etc.). Subsequently he dwelled, for limited spells of time, in London & US. During all his time in emigration Sabaneyev never stopped working actively in many authoritative music periodicals; he also wrote music for films. He returned to France, a 'home regained' of Russian emigration, in 1933 where he died in Cap d'Antibes near Nice in October 1st, 1968. Sabaneyev's music – almost inevitably though never too heavily influenced by Scriabin & other late Romantics, was, as a matter of fact, [i]another[/i], divergent, going further & beyond the conventional music conceptions even of those revolutionary times; technically much complex yet unusually brittle in it’s moods, innately bearing some weird ‘romantic’ kind of darkness. It obviously hasn’t struck a chord with his contemporaries, either in Russia or in the West, & has mostly laid in obscurity for many decades, with only some broader-minded &/or rara-avis-catcher performers (like, e.g., [a= Marc-André Hamelin]) trying it out once in a while. In 2012, three daring & already well-experienced musicians has recorded two essential Sabaneyev’s 1920’s piano works - treated with all due care & exactness, rendered with inspirational sincerity, & recorded with top-notch modern quality - in Munich’s BR Studios. Accordingly, a CD (‘Piano Trios’) was issued on GENUIN label which has caused quite a stir & won much acclaim among music connoisseurs’ circles. Three years later a double CD, ‘The Complete Works for Piano Vol. 1’ came from GENUIN, containing a dozen small piano pieces performed by [a= Michael Schäfer (5)], the pianist from the previous recording; it equally & deservedly garnered most positive reviews. Sabaneyev’s one-year elder brother, Boris Sabaneyev ([a= Борис Сабанеев]), who hasn’t survived the Russian Red Revolution, was also a musician: classical organist, organ composer & theorist, and pedagogue. On the 3-figure photo (among those linked to on this page), left to right, are: L. Sabaneyev; A. Scriabin; Tatiana Schloezer (Scriabin's Muse, as also his common-law wife). |
