Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Nathalie Soles | The artistic richness and multicultural complexity of Nathalie Soles' singing impresses as much as her natural range (four and a half octaves) and her vocal ease (sings in five languages). Born in France to an Italian mother and a Togolese father, she spent most of her childhood in Morocco. It is in this colorful country, repository of a subtle oriental refinement, bathed in exhilarating scents, that she forges her first musical weapons. Jazz will quickly become her preference, offering her vocal palette a sufficiently vast field of exploration.

Search | Add | 3 | Les Masochats | Electronic project by French DJ, producer, and POF Music owner Fred Giteau and Serbian producer Dr. Vaki, active in 1998-99. Assisted by a guitarist and a percussionist, Les Masochats produced a full album in 1998, that was eventually released in 2023. The name "Les Masochats" is a French-Serbian word-play. Fred Giteau’s first wife and mother of his daughter Yelena was nicknamed "Maca" or "Maso" ("cat" in Serbian). Fred added the French equivalent "Chats" to form "Les Masochats" (cat-cat), a direct reference to the romantic musical film "Les Aristochats" (The Aristocats). The duo produced music with a simple keyboard and Cubase at Vaki’s room studio. Percussion and guitar were played and recorded live, and later technically processed. The style of Les Masochats is a mixture of techno, groovy and rhythmic claps that break and restart, bongos, and guitars reminiscent of S.U.N. Project. Some tracks incorporate riffs of traditional Serbian music.

Search | Add | 3 | Invaders From Sears | Invaders from Sears was originally conceived in 1986 as "a PIL-like synth duo" featuring local Westchester, NY freaks Bob of The Observation Deck Information and Adam of Thalidomide and the One-Armed Mongoloids. The pair produced three songs, now lost entirely, and that was almost it. Bob then holed himself away in his studio and churned out 2 full length solo albums, an ep and a rarities/greatest hits collection, all to be released on his small cassette label, odi, and picked up by famed Connecticut punk label [l=TPOS]. Fellow art students Elisa Flynn and Jeffre Dene joined in, and The Vaders became an actual live act, opening for hardcore bands in and around New England in the late 80s. Winning praise from Sonic Youth and Moby, The trio landed some choice gigs and had their tunes on the radio in several countries. Bob & Elisa then started a side project called [a=BunnyBrains] and the Vaders took a hiatus.

Search | Add | 3 | Mason Dixon Hobos | The band Mason Dixon Hobos was founded in 1989 by Markus Meggle, Holger Münch, Mathias Noll and Christian Pinter. The four had their first official gig on May 5, 1990. In 1991 Mathias Noll quit and replacement on double bass became Heiko "Mr. Slappin' Suspender" Albrecht. The first album, Messers, was produced and released by Andy Widder for Part Records. In early 1992, the lineup expanded and Oliver Heydenreich joined on second guitar. In March 1994, the band recorded their second record "Live at the Pool" live at the Schwimmbad Musikclub in Heidelberg. The bass player Heiko left the band for health reasons and from now on Karl Klee (later: Up To Vegas, Frantic Flintstones) stood at the double bass. Tours and gigs in Europe and abroad followed. From 1992 until the end of 1995 the "Hobos" played countless gigs, which finally led to the big quarrel and breakup of the band. The trigger for the comeback was the reunion at the Rockabilly Weekender Walldorf, which was actually planned for only one gig, as a thank you for Andy Widder. In the following years there were several reshuffles on the guitars, with the band always on tour and playing live concerts. In 2015 the band released their album "Big Thrill", which contains a mixture of original songs and cover versions.

Search | Add | 3 | Tiny Fires | Founded in Maine in late 2008, Tiny Fires is comprised of Guy Capecelatro III, Dylan Metrano (Tiger Saw), and Jeremy and Jerusha Robinson (South China / Brown Bird). Shimmery guitars, primal drumming, tap-dancing, and distorted calliope keyboards curiously blend underneath entrancing four-part harmonies, creating a brand new unique sound that is a bold beginning for the band. The group was originally called Paper Birds, and toured with the band Castanets in November 2008, and performed in a set they designed, including multi-tiered backdrops and hanging bird-printed book covers. They transformed the stage of each venue into their own little world, and let the stories in their songs unfold in a theater of their making. In 2009, they played shows with friends Phosphorescent, Jason Anderson, and Viking Moses. In April 2009, to avoid confusion with a similarly named band, they changed their name to Tiny Fires.

Search | Add | 3 | Max Lockwood | Max Lockwood lives in Grand Rapids, MI, and was raised in the town of Wayland, MI, where he first began studying music on cello and upright bass. He studied music at DePaul University in addition to studying poetry and literature at the University of Michigan. His first solo album, Outrider, doubled as his thesis project in poetry. It was produced by Seth Bernard and featured May Erlewine on keys and vocals, Joey Schultz on banjo, Dan Rickabus on drums, Brennan Andes on bass, Peter Felsman on percussion, and more. Max is also the bassist and vocalist for atmospheric folk/grunge band, Big Dudee Roo, and has performed and recorded with a litany of other Michigan bands and songwriters. His song "Burning it Down", recorded with Lindsay Lou and the Flatbellys, won the juror's prize in the folk genre of the 2015 Artprize competition. "'Outrider' is a beautifully crafted album with sonic depth and rich poetic focus. Alongside an all-star Michigan backing band, Max Lockwood channels the flair of Tom Petty, the twangy edge of early Wilco and the eloquence of the Beat Generation's finest. As a listener, I am swept into the raw musical element and the timely vision that Max has captured." -Brandon John Foote of Gifts or Creatures (October 2014). Kyle Austin of Revue Magazine writes, "Max Lockwood didn’t make his first solo record so much as he grew it. Instead of hiring studio musicians to execute a defined vision, the Big Dudee Roo bassist simply took the 12 original songs he’d written for his senior thesis project at the University of Michigan and sowed them throughout his circle of friends. And when your friends are some of the most luminary talents in Michigan’s thriving folk-rock scene, you’ve got some fertile soil to work with...Sonically, Outrider reflects the incredible breadth of musical knowledge and experience Lockwood and his friends posses. The record moves seamlessly between folk, rock, country and soul, featuring big, full arrangements that blend sounds wherever possible. Takes happened live and in the moment, with the entire band tracking in the same room, giving the finished product the feel of music made with passion in mind rather than perfection."

Search | Add | 3 | Aro Ora (AO) | In September 2013, Anthony Mateus, Quentin Regnault, Mathieu Wilmann, Florent Giudicelli and Baptiste Boudoux met and decided to form a band named Ao, meaning " World, Universe " in Maori language. With its self-produced EP Mahara (2015), the band delivers a modern metal, combining melodies, technical, rythmic intensity and efficiency, in line with influences such as Gojira, Lamb of God, Architects, Devildriver, Nevermore, or Chimaira. In the continuity of their journey of musical and personal reflexion, the band brings its music further, by developping a more personal style. From these introspections and the observation of our world, they're going to give life to their first full length release (2019). In this album, the band will take its inspiration from the cyclical relationship between the Universe, the Earth and the Individual. Through this new production, Ao will invite his auditors to a spiritual journey, in which the power of a modern metal, mixed with ambient and atmospheric colors, will carry an unfilled quest for wisdom and knowledge.

Ihre Debüt-Single I’m Gonna Make You Love Me beweist eindrucksvoll, welche grosse Musikalität in dieser Band ihnen steckt. Essential Fore is without a doubt THE melodic pop group from the alpine country; the Swiss artists who have been missing from the Swiss top league so far. With their honest manner they are cross-generational and reach old and young. Their songs are a mixture of ravishing uptemp numbers and beautiful ballads that almost compete with each other for the rank of potential single hits. Their debut single I'm Gonna Make You Love Me impressively proves the great musicality of this band. Their outstanding voices, so voluminous, sure and clear that they can playfully interpret any musical phrasing and their personalities, which couldn't be more inspiring: positive, cheerful, optimistic! |
