Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Alimori Mihail Simeonov Seeking creative freedom, Alimori is the pseudonym used by Mischa Blanos to shape new electronic territories for his compositions, be it progressive clubbing or ambient music. Born from the need to separate his acoustic-electronic music framed in the Neoclassical genre from other exploring genres, Alimori serves the artist in his endeavour to expand his travel on the pure electronic realm. He abandons the acoustic piano but transfers its soul by manipulating the machines as if they were acoustic instruments and infusing elusive yet deeply rooted classical structures. Back and forth through synths, drum machines, modulars and digital inputs, Alimori is set to voice out his appetite for jazz-driven techno club pieces and his attraction in creating sonic spheres of ambient music.

Search Add 2 Ludgero Rosas Pianist, singer-songwriter, LUD was born in Oporto on the 10th of June, 1981. He started playing piano at the age of 10. He took part of several bands while growing up which allowed him to develop his musical skills both during his studies in the classical music school and in the Rock and Blues bands where he played. A young man with a strong musical passion for bands such as Deep Purple, Yes, Led Zeppelin and with a strong admiration for Frank Zappa. At the age of 22, he had the opportunity to participate in a TV talents' show where he developed a great experience on live performing and singing. This also allowed him to show his originality as an artist. Since then has developed his work as a pianist, organist and singer both as a solo artist and accompanied by his trio. His musical influences have not stopped evolving and stretch from Jazz and artists such his personal favorite Ray Charles to Indian music where he is fascinated by the work of Ravi Shankar. His first album of original songs called “Horas Sem Dias” was released in October 2012. An album where Soul, Funk, Jazz and Blues come together with the Portuguese language. After two and a half years, the desire to create new songs and to tell new stories drove him to release his second album where the piano and the organ are the key musical instruments. In “Esboço de Mim”, LUD’s second album, he is not just the sole song and music writer but also the producer, and his blues and jazz influences become quite traceable throughout the entire album. LUD makes his own artistic mark when he plays some of the greatest internacional hits with his piano and his voice.

Search Add 2 Halfsilks Halfsilks is the result of bassist/ vocalist Karen (of Gym Tonic, The Anna Thompsons, Canyon Spree) and drummer/ vocalist Jana (of Point No Point, Soft Grid, Dropout Patrol) dragging synth player Marcia into the rehearsal room to find out what their shared musical influences from 60s girl groups to post-punk could convey. Initially more of a loose project, Halfsilks quickly became an actual band as the members’ professional and musical lives came to a halt over the last months. Instead they turned to writing synth-driven, angular pop songs about horses, outdated technologies and female role-models and recorded a first demo.

Title in Russian: Ансамбль древнерусской духовной музыки "Светилен" or Ансамбль "Светилен". Over the years, the group has been referred to in various publications under slightly different names. The ensemble of ancient Russian music Svetilen was formed in 1989 to preserve the old Russian vocal tradition. This style is reflected in two types of singing: church singing and secular singing. Both are marked by the meaning of the sacred word. This testifies to their common “starting point” and the same cultural and musical background. Musical compositions are usually performed a capella, but sometimes ancient Russian instruments such as gusli and koliosnaya lira are used giving a peculiar sound. The group has participated in numerous festival in Russia and abroad and has won several internal awards. Partial list of the team: - Дмитрий Гаркави = Dmitry Garkavi - founder and artistic Director of the ensemble, composer, multi-instrumentalist - Анастасия Овчинникова = Anastasia Ovchinnikova - vocals, percussion - Павел Любимый = Pavel Lyubimiy - vocals, guitar - Илья Саблин = Ilya Sablin - vocals, accordion - Валерия Кемаева = Valeria Kemaeva - vocals, percussion - Петр Козачук = Petr Kozachuk - vocals, double-bass

Search Add 2 Trattbandet Swedish jazz band, from the industrial centre of Sweden, Västerås. Originally concentrating on New Orleans Jazz, the band has gradually widened its selection of music to comprise even Dixieland, early swing, West Indian and rhythm & blues music. Trattbandet - "The Funnel Band" - or, as it is also called: The Aros Jazz and Blues Band, has reached a position close to indispensability when it comes to embellish all kinds of happy events, like festivals, jubilees, grand openings and parties. Trattbandet has participated some dozen of festivals like the ones in Askersund, Kungshamn, Stockholm and, of course, Västerås in Sweden, Pori in Finland and Eindhoven and Breda in Holland, the latter for the fourth time. They have also toured in Germany.
