Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Tary Rebenar Tary Rebenar was born in Moline, Illinois on July 13, 1940. He moved to Chicago and joined with other musicians creating Barbarossa, a music room of folk songs where he and others performed. He sung the title song to H. G. Lewis's movie "Just For The Hell Of It" in 1968. The song is "Destruction, Inc.". The band that plays with him could be [a=The Faded Blue] according to some sources. The lyrics were written by H. G. Lewis himself. Rebenar released his song "Chicago" on a 1974 private pressing of an album titled "Just a Dream Ago" produced by his private label, Barbarossa. Featuring 12 songs in which Rebenar provided vocals and guitar, "Chicago" was featured as the last song on the A Side of the record. It became the jingle song for the CBS local news. Tary Rebenar died of AIDS from a bad blood transfusion he got when he had surgery for some really bad skin cancer at Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago on November 10, 1990 at the age of 50.

Search Add 2 SPK/PF(H) The foundation and development of the SPK (Socialist Patients' Collective) was started in 1968 by Dr. Huber at the Policlinic of the Psychiatric University Clinic, Heidelberg, Germany. After two troubled years including police raids, several arrests and confinements the SPK was strategically dissolved in 1971 in an attempt to prevent further harm to Huber and the patients. In 1972 Dr. Huber and his wife were sentenced to 4.5 years in prison. In 1973 while in solitary confinement in the Stammheim prison Huber proclaimed the Patientenfront (Patients' Front) as a continuation and back-to-the-roots of the SPK, from then on mostly referred to as SPK/PF(H). A full timeline of the SPK/PF can be found here: http://spkpfh.de/Timeline.htm

Search Add 2 Mateusz Merkel Mateusz Merkel also known as The Acolyte, born in 1990 in Poland started his EDM interest in the late 2002 stealing CD’s from his sister with some funky electro. He found out some harder genres back then such as hardstyle and hardtrance, but unfortunately he lost interest in modern music and went underground with raw industrial and broken beats. He bought his first CDJ’s and started to play with them. He found out mixing is not enough and wanted to mess a little with the sounds as well. His first productions came out in the late 2009 and are developing into any hardcore genre and experimental broken beats and dark atmosphere. He is a co-founder of the free experimental Polish netlabel called [l173813] along with [a1643690] and they both do their best to show not known, but talented producers to the scene and give them a little exposure so the real hardcore junkies would have a sneak peek into the music made by people, for people. He is now doing his best to have the most fun he can out of music along with his label crew, so they’d enjoy the parties they perform at the most.

Search Add 2 Statsradiofoniens Orkester Statsradiofoniens Orkester, also referred to as Radio-Orkestret, was the name of the first orchestra of [l=Den Danske Statsradiofoni], the Danish national broadcasting corporation, from 1925 to 1942. One of the world’s oldest radio orchestras, it debuted with 11 musicians on 28 October 1925 conducted by [a=Launy Grøndahl] in a studio concert transmitted nationwide in Denmark. During the first few years the orchestra gradually grew to over 30 permanent musicians. [a=Emil Reesen] was employed as conductor in 1927 and the orchestra performed in public for the first time the same year. In 1928 it began to play regular weekly radio concerts. [a=Nicolai Malko] was recruited in 1930 as a regular guest conductor, and by 1931 it employed 58 musicians. Early concerts took place in the Axelborg building in Copenhagen. In 1931 the orchestra began to perform at Stærekassen (later renamed to [l=Det Kongelige Teater, Nye Scene]). In 1933 the weekly radio concert was given the name "Torsdagskoncert", a name it has kept to current date. After going into exile from nazi-Germany in the 1930’s, [a=Fritz Busch] worked extensively as a conductor of the orchestra. In 1942 the orchestra evolved into [a=Statsradiofoniens Symfoniorkester] under the direction of [a=Erik Tuxen] (1936-57). The name of the orchestra has evolved over time as follows: - From 1925 to 1942: Statsradiofoniens Orkester - From 1942 to 1959: [a=Statsradiofoniens Symfoniorkester] - From 1959 to 1996: [a=Danmarks Radios Symfoniorkester] - From 1996 to 2008: [a=DR Radiosymfoniorkestret] - Since 2008: [a=DR SymfoniOrkestret]

Search Add 2 Heavier Than God Doom/Punk band from Athens, Greece. Strong elements of [a=Black Sabbath], [a=Black Flag], [a=EyeHateGod], [a=Entombed], [a=Converge], [a=Electric Wizard], [a=Raging Speedhorn], [a=Refused] and [a=Melvins] can be traced in their sound, among other things... Zak A. screams his guts out, Jim P. abuses the guitars, Aggelos P. rips the bass, Costas shows the drums a real good time... Heavier Than God were formed in 2003 by [a=Jim P. (3)] (Guitar - also member of [a=The Darkstar], Skindread, Devilworx), George Roulos (Bass), [a=Costas (2)] (Drums - also member of [a=Lord 13], [a=Space Slavery], [a=Mahakala]), [a=Big Badda] (Guitar - also member of [a=Mahakala]) and [a=Zak A.] (Vocals - also member of [a=One Block Society]). They soon launched into performing shows, sharing the stage with bands like [a=Misery Index], [a=Integrity (2)], [a=Nile (2)] and [a=Electric Wizard (2)]. Unfortunately the band came to an end in 2005 for unspecified reasons, despite the public's positive response. Six years later, in 2011, the band made the decision to regroup. With [a=Nikos Kollias] (also of [a=The Darkstar]) replacing George on the bass and [a=Big Badda] not interested in rejoining the band, Heavier Than God started performing live again as a four-piece alongside [a=Septic Flesh], [a=Dark Funeral], [a=Nightstalker (2)], [a=Cancer Bats] and [a=High On Fire]. In 2015 they self-released their first album, ridiculously entitled The Self-Titled Album, in digital format. Some time later [a=Nikos Kollias] (after playing the bass for quite some time - as well as producing, engineering & mixing the album) decided to leave the band and Aggelos P. from [a=Black Hat Bones] is the band's current bass player (also responsible for the album's cover artwork).
