Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Forest New Orleans Jazz Band The Forest Jazz Band can trace its beginnings back to 1984 when Jack Moore and Keith Simkin watched and enjoyed traditional jazz played by the Riverside Jazz Band at The Wagoners, Burnley. Jack got himself a trombone and together with Keith on banjo, began to practise at each others homes. Eventually they found other enthusiasts willing to play drums, clarinet, bass and trumpet. Before long they had regular practice sessions every Sunday morning at The Pendle Forest Sports Club in Fence near Burnley. One day a singer, Gloria joined in and the band was formed. They wanted to name the band after The Pendle Forest, but as there was already a Pendle JazzMen, they settled on the name The Forest Jazz Band

Search Add 2 Anal Aids Anal Aids formed in 2009 in Västervik, Sweden by the two friends Gustav 'Gürk' Pettersson and Max 'MX' Jonsson. Gürk had played guitar for some years, but had not been in any noteworthy projects. Drum machine software was discovered by MX, who prior to this had not played any instrument, but taught himself how to play bass. Upon this foundation the band set out to create grind which they deemed fun. By the start of 2011 the first EP [r17573851] was self produced and self released. The majority of copies sold through direct contact with the band.

Search Add 2 Skalibur (2) Heavy Metal Group that was formed in 1982. Its founders are Guillermo Valverde and Carlos Illescas, who met at the Cdla. October 9 The first trials were with the sporadic tutelage of the ABRAXAS. Months later, Carlos, who played as bassist, suffered a traffic accident that would deny his existence. More the band decides to desist from the rock scene. The desire to play Metal and honor Carlos, unites them this time with Iván Illescas (Brother of Carlos). Among its members were Juan Carranza (Voz) and Miguel Viteri (Guitar), who were in musical dilemmas since their artistic differences were noticeable, all this due to the TRASH METAL, Reigning style of the Epoch (brought by bassist J. Alza of the United States). M. Viteri is the one that separates from Demolición, to form along with L. Cotto, X. Cornejo, I. Wong the band SKULL, which composed basic themes for what later would be Skalibur. J. Carranza also leaves Demolición and comes in contact with I. Illescas, Valverde and V. Chiriboga. Although according to their musical tendencies they lacked another guitarist, this vacancy would be filled by M. Viteri (Suggestion by J. Carranza). They started playing covers and managed to break out quickly. It should be noted that Valverde ventures into the double bass influenced by groups such as Queensrÿche, Illescas by its side influenced by Iron Maiden, this basis of their live performances that marked a separate point of Latin Rock widespread in universities and festivals. We emphasize the support in those times of Dante López, who was also manager of BLAZE, facilitated the facilities of the Santa Fe School, Skalibur's concentration place. Another rocker, Fernando Navarrete, Animator of the High Voltage Program also gave logistical support to the band and the rock scene in general. Already in the 90's gears would be lost; giving his collaboration R. Gómezcuello (guitarist) and X. Román (drums). With this training he recorded the song Seekin Blood. Then he was separated from the Iván Illescas group, from here the Calvary Era with the Bass players began, collaborating with X. Guerra (ex_ Abraxas), Luis Quiroga (ex_ Spectrum Line). In addition Daniel Vargas (Guitar) joins the group. Daniel and Luis were fundamental musicians, even composing "El Vuelo del Dragón" and "Provocación". Guitars being a great duo. Soon Xavier Román leaves the band and enters a very well recommended by L. Piedra (Demolición), Marcelo Wilkins. But then he decides to join the Civil Pilots. Then re-enters G. Valverde and commit to record the Demo _ tape, which contained topics such as Skalibur, The Flight of the Dragon, Fatal Destiny, Provocation, Andromeda, etc .. But before Daniel Vargas would undertake a trip to Chile due to his studies In addition, Luis Quiroga travels to Miami. His replacements were Francisco Aguirre and Fabricio Chevasco.

Search Add 2 Maulwerker The Maulwerker (often appears as Die Maulwerker, please use ANV for that) is a vocal ensemble and collective of composers, music performers and theater makers, founded in 1977. They've been active in subsequent years with a changing array of members: 1977-1988, 1989-2001 and current group, working since 2001. Members of the ensemble came from diverse artistic backgrounds such as singing, composition, performance, intermedia arts, instrumental music, acting and directing. They work at the intersection of music, space, sound and silence with theater and language. The ensemble premiered Schnebel's most important works for music theater, created either during the rehearsal process with the Maulwerker or composed specifically for the group, like Schau-Stücke and the Kafka-Dramolette. Schnebel's fundamental work of modern vocal music, the open score Maulwerke, has been realized by the ensemble in a variety of versions and on different stages. In addition to the classics of new vocal music and experimental music theater, the Maulwerker repertoire focuses on more recent trends through active collaboration with composers, radio dramatists, sound artists and directors. Besides their activities in the ensemble, each artist is also active as a soloist, and the group often realizes works by individual members. Search Add 2 Kurt Rasquin Kurt Billig German American opera singer (born May 13, 1890 Hamburg, Germany - died November 14, 1940 in Hamburg, Germany) Born Curt Carl Hermann Billig, Rasquin spent some time in Manchester, England. In February 1915, he arrived in the United States, where he worked as an actor and singer. In 1917, he performed at New York's Yorkville Theatre as a member of Adolf Philipp's stock theater company. In February 1921, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen and used the opportunity to adopt his stage name, Kurt Rasquin, as his new legal name. Between 1920 and 1921, Rasquin made numerous recordings of German songs for [l=Columbia], which billed him as a tenor. In the summer of 1922, he also cut 8 sides for the German [l=Vox (3)] label in Berlin; Vox promoted him as a baritone. At the same time, Rasquin increasingly worked as a merchant, traveling back and forth between Germany and the United States. In 1923, he married the widow of a Hamburg merchant, Antonie Mayr-Bertheau, née Fieke, and settled in Hamburg. Between 1931 and 1938, Rasquin lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg, again as a merchant, but then he seems to have moved back once more to Hamburg, where he died of a heart condition in 1940.

Search Add 2 Сгоревший холодильник Max Kotenkov, Alex Tokko A mythical Russian band whose name means "Burned-Out Refrigerator" (pronounced as "Sgorevshyi Kholodilnik"). Having roamed the vast country for years, band members finally settled in Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg) on the western outskirts of Russia. The band consists of Max Kotenkov (guitar, vocals) and Alex Tokko (guitar, vocals). Band members insist that "Sgorevshyi Kholodilnik" is much rather a philosophical concept than just a musical outfit. Being a self-contained musical entity, "Sgorevshyi Kholodilnik" is closely related to a semi-pirate Kaliningrad formation of music enthusiasts called "Radio Einfall".
