Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Erland Yildiz | Erland Yildiz | Erland Yildiz as his earthly name is was born December 22nd 1970 in Norway. He grew up in the heavier artistic circles of Oslo and from a very young age he like so many expressive souls, started to play percussion drums which elevated into a life manifesting journey through all sorts of drums and whatever other musical instruments that he could get his hands on. Erland rapidly got a reputation and started jamming with the "big boys in town" where the styles of Jazz, Funk, Rock, Reggae, Ska, Fusion and Disco ruled the sonic motion. From there he also because of his near family heritage, became more and more drawn to the classical oriental side of the musical scale. In the 90-s he started to transform a strong music taste within the electronic realm where GOA was the most awe inspiring and personally heartfelt complex genre to reflect and express. Outside his love and growth within ,,real" music, Erland Yildiz through the 90-s did his share of Confusion and Club as well, and ventured into Techno and even House. As a part of an underground scene, he both produced and played at local raves. Already in '96 he was creating his own Oriental Techno Trance music. Erland "Material Music" Yildiz first got well into keyboards and piano at the age of 16, and studied the general art of Guitar at the age of 25. In his older days -now passed- he was loosely famous for owning a massive synthesizer and electronic music equipment collection in the infamous Hausmania building in Oslo where he lived since '98 as a resident squatter for many years. His collection was no joke. Material music absolutely fills his life, and has for the nerdy ones been doing HD Recordings with Midi's since 1987. Besides music he today has a renewed inspired life-force to live, love and enjoy a free and wonderful life, and is presently a proud Table-Tennis enthusiast & champion. And for those who get to know his Material Music, will hear that besides from a Psychedelic sense and respect, he also does Keysi Fighting Method which is much reflected in the energy he brings as a Goa/Psy-trance producer. On the personal question of life, he replies; "Life... parts of life. Seen it all and tasted it beyond, both in light and darkness. Or at least that's how it feels sometimes. My music inside should show structures and integrity that views how I personally enjoy to present and listen to Psychedelic Trance Music. Life's been hard, and good. Early rough start creates kind of diamond, and I hope my space and place in the music manages to create divine listening dance experiences that I've also experienced, and still love a lot to this day. Always having peace, love, understanding, unity and respect inside beyond the cheese" He also states that a Record release is static, while with a Live performance anything is possible. That's where his music truly comes to life, while performing it Live with equipment and a crowd creating those extra sonic waves and dance. For some reminiscing of band names that Erland has been a part of, he shares from the top of his head; "Protc" (drums, prog. rock) that he played in while he was 12, and the other members was around 18. Krymznylt (rock, drums), Collective Angels (Jam/Impro), Silly Trilly (Tabla, percussion).. plus a lot more bands that came and went, and a lot of ambiance experimental projects with attention to interaction and details. |

Search | Add | 2 | Julio Venegas | Julio Venegas (3 April 1972, El Paso, Texas — 15 February 1996, ibid.) was an American musician, bassist, visual artist, and illustrator, best known as the close friend and early collaborator of [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala] and [a=Omar Rodriguez-Lopez]. (See Julio (left) with Cedric in the 2nd photo). He committed suicide at 24, which profoundly impacted both artists. They dedicated most of the [a=At The Drive-In]'s 1997 album [m=45442], particularly the song "Ebroglio," as well as [a=The Mars Volta]'s [m=9308] (2002) and the critically acclaimed debut album, [m=9154] (2003), to the life and death of Venegas. Most recently, in August 2016, [a=Omar Rodriguez-Lopez] used one of his drawings as the front cover of his [m=1611296] album. Venegas was born to a single mother, Maria Guadalupe Venegas (1926—1989), and grew up in El Paso, Texas, leading a tumultuous lifestyle since childhood. When his mother died, 17-year-old Julio made his first suicide attempt by overdosing on morphine; Venegas went into a coma instead, with his right side paralyzed after he woke up. Julio re-learned how to walk during the lengthy recovery, later again incapacitating his arm by further attempts to inject various chemical mixtures; Omar and Cedric jokingly called their friend "Frankenstein" for multiple scars over his body. Venegas introduced them to other genres besides punk and hardcore, with bands and artists like [a=Fela Kuti], [a=Magma (6)], and [a=Can]; he played bass in Cedric Bixler's band [a=Dregtones] while the co-founder and core bassist [a=Jimmy Hernandez] was away at school. Julio Venegas also drew the artwork for the group's demo tape [r=9335229] in 1994. (Dregtones dissolved later the same year after Hernandez died of cancer.) The exact circumstances of Julio's suicide are unclear; many sources claimed he jumped off a freeway overpass into the busy afternoon traffic, while others report Venegas took his life at home. According to subsequent interviews with Cedric and Omar, one of the main reasons behind Julio's tragic decision was bullying and tormenting from [a=Ben Rodriguez], a temporary guitarist and backing vocalist with [a=At The Drive-In] in 1996–97 (who briefly replaced [a=Jim Ward] on [r=1332686] EP, the first record where [a=Omar Rodriguez-Lopez] switched to guitar and new members [a=Paul Hinojos] and [a=Tony Hajjar] joined). Bixler-Zavala and Omar-Rodriguez described Ben as a "sociopath," and he was kicked out of the band shortly after. In 2002, when Omar and Cedric released the [m=9308], a debut release by their new band [a=The Mars Volta], one of the songs, "Concertina," revisited these tragic events. The group's debut full-length album, [m=9154], which came out in June 2003, was based on a "Cerpin Taxt" short story by [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala] and Jeremy M. Ward — a fictionalized and dramatized version of Julio Venegas life and tragic demise. (Ward died from a heroin overdose in May 2003, weeks before the album's release.)

Search | Add | 2 | John Davidge | Reginald John Davidge | Comedian, singer and songwriter who hailed from south-west England. His lyrics and stand-up comedy act often dealt with subjects that were politically motivated or considered a little controversial for the time. Davidge began his career in the mid-'50s, using the moniker 'Reg Gray' (not to be confused with the Australian entertainer of the same name), performing in theatrical plays, musicals, and films alongside the likes of [a=Michael Caine] and [a=Sean Connery]. He appeared in the film 'Tom Thumb' (1958) and was in a West End production of 'Mr Pickwick'. In 1967, he came to the attention of the wider public when he won Granada TVs talent show, 'First Timers'. Part of the prize for winning was a contract with manager Harvey Lisberg, who was at the time mainly known for being the manager of [a=Herman's Hermits]. Though the association with Lisberg was short-lived, it wasn't fruitless, as it was through the Lisberg connection that Davidge co-wrote The Man From Nazareth with [a=Eric Stewart], [a=Kevin Godley], and [a=Lol Creme]. It got to no.25 in the UK singles chart in 1970 and was his only hit record. Maureen Prest became his manager and it was during this time that Davidge wrote a song supporting the miners' strike, simply called 'The Miners' Song'. The BBC deemed that giving it airtime would make it appear that they supported the strike, so chose to ban the record from their airwaves. In return, Prest declared that she had banned the BBC from playing it. In 1977, Davidge was involved in a car accident in Belfast that left him with injuries so serious that it effectively put an end to his career. He and Prest went their separate ways in 1978 and he settled down with a new partner who spent much of the early-'80s helping him recuperate and to recover his memory. He withdrew from public life and remained private until his death in 2011. Born: 1930 in Bath, Somerset, England. Died: 1st January 2011, in Bath, Somerset, England. |

Search | Add | 2 | Dave Handford | David Handford | Born in Torquay, Devon, sound artist Dave Handford has been producing organised sonic work since 1992. Through early experiments in electronic psychedelia with Vibe Tribe (1992-1993) and electronica/techno with Moduloss (1993-1995), his work now ranges from minimalist drone pieces to absurd rhythmic soundscapes. From an early interest in electronics he also constructs sound devices for recording and performance including analogue harmonic units and Theremin based machines. These have been used in Jo Shapland's performances Chrysalis (1998) and See the Woods Through the Trees (2000-2002), as well as site specific installation work such as Further Back and Faster (2001) and Radio St.Dogmaels #2 (2001) in Pembrokeshire as part of Ointment collaborative arts project. Other collaborative work has included a soundtrack for Jo Shapland's Zeitlupe (1999/2000), live and vinyl music for Continuous Sound Laboratory (2000-2001), and live soundtracking for Man Troi on Pedestal (2002) and Soluna (2002), in Ireland and Wales. Currently he is continuing his site specific, tone/harmonic Soundings throughout Wales and UK, in underground and other obtuse spaces. Since May 2001, his label [l62011] has been a vehicle for his and others experimental recordings. Under this he also records as DJ Methodist and Ministry Of Defiance. |

Search | Add | 2 | Whalephant | Whalephant was formed in 2009 in Moscow, Russia. Led by composer, synth player, and artistic director [a=Nikolay Inshakov], Whalephant offer a modern, contemporary take on traditional prog styles. Working with a diverse sonic palette, Whalephant have cited such influences as [a=Pink Floyd], [a=Bjork], [a=King Crimson], [a=Rush], [a=Emerson Lake & Palmer], [a=Sigur Ros] and [a=Yes]. While elements of each of these artists can be heard in their music, Whalephant take these influences and blends them into a fresh, unique sound. Whalephant strives to create sophisticated, intelligent music, with a degree of pop accessibility. The result is a soundtrack-like style of composing, with a dramatic flair and an intricate blend of electronic and acoustic textures.

Search | Add | 2 | LaQuinton Holliday | LaQuinton Holliday | LaQuinton Holliday, born September 8, 1995, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer. After the death of his father in 2002, Holliday would find what would become his new reality. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, his love from music developed at an early age, mocking the likeness of Michael Jackson, James Brown, Etc. He also dreamed of being a professional wrestler in the WWE. Described as a young man with an old soul, his inspiration comes from every chamber of music. Whether it’s funk, rock, or R&B, his inspiration will be shown in his music. Holliday would record his first song in December of 2007, along with his brother. In 2009, Holliday would go on to become a local Michael Jackson tribute artist. Holliday would end his run as a tribute artist in 2012, due to a more focused approach on his music. In 2011, Holliday began his acting career, thanks to his choir teacher. With multiple musicals coming in the forefront of his agenda, he wanted to get back on the stage to perform. Graduating high school in 2014, he would then attend Meridian Community College. From there, he joined the MCC Dimensions as a Bass/Tenor. Holliday would obtain an associates degree in theatre from MCC. Since leaving college, Holliday participated in multiple bands. In 2018, he joined, with his best friend & ex-dimensions member Aaliyah Lee; Image of Harmony as the male lead vocalist. The group performed both secular & contemporary music. Holliday left the group to pursue a more edgier image. In mid-2019, Holliday would join Aa'Keela & The Beats as a vocalist. Mixing different genres to fulfill the hearts of the local area. Holliday found his peace & freedom with this decision. Creatively, after his mother’s and grandmother’s passing, Holliday now dedicates every work of his art to them. |
