Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

These publications have been released all over the globe, and emphasize her talent in photography, manual double exposure/manipulated photography, graphic design, writing, acrylic and oil painting, paper collage, Prisma pencil drawing, ink experiments, and watercolor painting. Her most recent publication was released after spending over a year collaborating and gathering inspiration in Germany. Currently, Clees’ primary focuses are photography and collage, though her style and media are constantly evolving. After a hiatus of several years following the birth of her son in 2003, she publishes a retrospective collection of private work spanning nearly two decades. This collection will highlight some of the artist’s new offerings including recent experiments in water photography and hand-made collage for a fresh and intriguing mix.

Search Add 2 Gladys Watkins Gladys Watkins was the first woman carillonist in Australasia and the first woman in the world to record a carillon album. She was the eleventh child born to her parents in Akaroa, New Zealand, and attended Miss Freeman's Ladies' School in Wellington. She remained active in multiple groups in Wellington during and after her years in school, volunteering to be an accompanist and teaching music when she was as young as 17 years old. She was also a member of the Royal Wellington Choral Union and choir at St. Mark's Church where her brother played organ. In the 1920's, Gladys thought about learning to play the carillon with the intent of becoming the official carillonist of the National War Memorial (Te Maharatanga Pakanga o Te Motu), which was in planning stages at the time. In 1929, she received financial support from the Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society to study with Jef Denyn at the Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium for eighteen months, where she also studied with Victor van Geyseghem. She was the first British woman to graduate from the school with distinction, and gave recital tours in Belgium, France, and Holland. In one Dutch town, she became the first woman to ever play the carillon. Her composition "Prelude for Bells" was published by the Dutch Carillon Guild in Vijf Composities voor den Beiaard in 1934, making her the second women to ever publish a carillon score. The newly cast bells for Wellington were set up in Hyde Park, London, for nine months, and during this time, Watkins gave multiple performances that proved "even more popular than the military bands," attracting thousands of listeners. She also recorded four carillon arrangements for His Master's Voice, released in 1930. The HMV Recording Ledgers note that she also recorded "Londonderry air" and "Caller Herrin'" as unreleased test tracks (Downes, 17). The first Bulletin of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America announced the recordings, which were also reviewed in Gramophone. In addition, she gave recitals and teaching at the University of Sydney War Memorial Carillon in December 1930 and approved the advancement of Enid Carpenter as the first woman to serve as Assistant Honorary Carillonist for the university. When the New Zealand War Memorial Carillon was opened on Anzac Day in 1932, she performed at its inauguration with Englishman Clifford Ball. After his departure, she became the first official National Carillonist. She gave a total of 307 recitals from 1932 to 1936 (or over 500 recitals, according to Downes), playing for thousands of people who listened in person and over the radio. She also created many of the arrangements for the automatic mechanism, and a "recital, by automatic player" of those arrangements was held in her memory on Nov. 5, 1939. Along with being a great performer, she was also an avid promoter of the instrument, writing articles and giving talks and interviews. In addition, she composed at least eleven works for carillon, and the National War Memorial Carillon Archives were formed from her collection of press clippings and music manuscripts. Gladys was described as "quiet and unassuming." Don't let this take away from her strongly-held opinions on the carillon. She thought that audiences should listen "not nearer than 200 yards" and in "positions in which [there] is the least traffic" (The NZ Radio Record, Apr. 29, 1932). To her, the carillon was unique in its expression of patriotism and loyalty. Author: Emmet Lewis The above text is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

A while later, with barely the Vader Jacob repertoire in the pocket, he decided to apply for a job with a band. Actually was hired, but almost immediately “fired” again, after which he founded the band The [a=Irish Wolfhounds] together with his later band colleague [a=Sjoerd van Ravenzwaaij]. During that time learned to play various instruments and expanded the repertoire considerably.

Search Add 2 Chorus1986 Chorus1986's music inspired by the 1980's and 1990's is often referred to as nostalgia music in the Synthwave genre, bringing people back to a time in their lives when they experienced unique emotions and growth. Whether it's a fond memory or bittersweet feeling of loss, his genre of music often triggers strong emotions related to growing up in this era. The sound of Chorus1986 draws from the many styles of the decade that defined it – rock, pop, new wave, synth, soul and hip-hop. No matter how old listeners are today or where life has taken them since those early days, Chorus1986's music helps remind listeners why those moments were so important and special in their lives, for better or worse, no matter how much time has passed by.

Search Add 2 Grupa W Składzie The ephemeral group of the Polish experimental music scene. It is known as one of the first hippie bands in Poland, but it should rather be appreciated for the role it played on the Polish art scene during the 70s. Founded ca. 1970/71 in Warsaw, the group was associated with conceptual art and the neo avant-garde; they were residents at several important and independent art galleries: Sigma, Repassage, Galeria El (El Gallery). Grupa w Składzie also participated in other artists’ activities, they cooperated with KwieKulik duo, Paweł Freisler, Krzysztof Zarębski, Jan Wojciechowski and Jerzy Kalina amongst others. They functioned in circulations of musicians who were searching a new artistic language, and who also took part in lots of artistic events like Helmut Nadolski, Andrzej Bieżan, Władysław Jagiełło, Andrzej Przybielski etc. The strength of this music was and still is its lack of boundaries, its creative eclecticism and the openness to artistic exchange and collaborations. They were the precursors of intuitive, experimental music created from the position of non-academics, at the same time reacting vividly to the trends in contemporary music of that time. Just the same name [“Composition of the group”] which was used by them to define their music brings into mind the theory of Karlheinz Stockhausen and his manifesto from 1971. Grupa w Skladzie reformed in 2008, and in 2013 an archive recording saw the light of day. A record prepared by small label Trzecia Fala contains the archival recording from Młodzieżowy Festival Muzyki Współczesnej (Youth Festival of Contemporary Music in Kalisz) from 1972, and several miniatures from years 1973 to 1975.
