Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Miss High Heel Miss High Heel was founded in Chicago, Illinois in late 1995 by James Marlon Magas, Tom Smith, and Christopher Walter ([a216186]). Joining the no-everything troika were Azita Youseffi, Jim O'Rourke, Jodie Baltazar (Jodie McCann, [a869858]), Chuck Falzone, and Bill Pisarri, Mike Green (Wyfe, Her Hair Jelly, etc.), and Nándor Névai. They recorded one radio session (at [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/596895-WZRD-FM-883-Chicago]WZRD-FM[/url]), performed one live performance (at the Magnatroid, New Year's Eve '95), and spent three months recording, mixing, and remixing "The Family's Hot Daughter", an album that was to have been issued by [l33275]. When that label lost an important domestic distribution deal, funding for the MHH collection vanished, and the project was shelved. Tiny noise indie [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/1707237-Billy-Sides]B.Sides[/url] (now known as No Sides) released a lone radio session, but the recordings ultimately displeased the group's principals. After 11 years, the original "The Family's Hot Daughter" mixes, long vouchsafed within Tom Smith's personal archive, were finally unearthed in 2006. [a319782] of Blossoming Noise heard five minutes of unedited roughs during a dinner party and quickly struck a deal. Upon release of the album, Miss High Heel clarified in a letter to the editor that the group was "designed to exist as a theoretical unit, and sunder at an appropriate moment. The only impediment to the completion of that goal was the collapse of the album release on Skin Graft." Performers: James Marlon Magas: voice Christopher Walter ([a216186]): drums, bass clarinet Azita Youseffi: synthesizer Jim O'Rourke: bass guitar, trumpet, synthesizer Jodie Baltazar (Jodie McCann, [a869858]): voice Chuck Falzone: bass guitar (live only) Bill Pisarri: clarinet, bass guitar (studio only) Nándor Névai: voice Mike Green: compere, hermeneutics Tom Smith: voice, black metal tape edits, mix, production

Search Add 3 Pitshu Alberto Matondo Manzambi Alberto Matondo Manzambi a.k.a. Pitshu migrated to São Paulo, Brazil from Luanda, Angola in 2005 at the age of 20. With him he brought a unique voice for a kind of music unknown to him at the time. His musical occupation back home was singing Kuduro, a genre of popular dance born in Angola at the end of the '80s that continues to evolve today. Still getting accustomed to the third-largest city in the world, he befriended Jimmy The Dancer, a well-known personality in the Centre. Jimmy introduced him to the Dubversão Sound System, led by DJ Fabinho Yellow P since 2001. Dubversão had a regular Friday party downtown, playing roots reggae and dub selections rarely heard in the city at that time. In 2006, Pitshu brought his unique voice to the party - not versed in Jamaican music, his sense of melody, phrasing and cadence was a fresh, new juxtaposition upon the heavier tempo of Jamaican reggae and the psychedelic sounds of dub version. The combination worked famously and Pitshubecame the official MC for the party. This association also resulted in his first CD, "Basoda", produced and released by Dubversão in 2008. Victor Rice was another regular at the party since 2002, discovering it soon after relocating to São Paulo from NYC. Already an 'honorary member' by 2007, Rice brought his Strikkly Vikkly Dubsystem to the party for a special performance. Pitshu improvised deftly over one of the tracks, a King Django rhythm called "Nex Season", while the camera was recording. Rice noted the melody and invited Pitshu over to Studio Copan to develop and record the idea. This would become the first of many collaborations (and the opening track to the sophomore record). Pitshu would arrive at the studio nine more times over the course of two years, and in 2009 Dubversão's Yellow P and Mau would join Rice at the mix sessions. This, Pitshu's second full-length record, has already yielded a 7" single, "Jah Kona" b/w "Major Vikkly"[TRT-001], an instrumental version by Cedric I.M. Brooks(Tenor Sax) and Kevin Batchelor(Trumpet). Pitshu and Rice drew on a variety of source material for these recordings. Some of the backing tracks were created on the spot using real drum tracks from other songs, or a combination of loops and samples. The bass was always played by Rice, though sometimes written by Pitshu. Other rhythm tracks were entirely pre-existing productions that inspired the singer to find a melody. Pitshu jumps freely between languages - Lingala, Portuguese, French, and on occasion Kikongo, English and Swahili. It would take a very particular ear to to discern each and every word of his performances. Pitshu assures the listener that all lyrics are of a basic, positive nature: Giving thanks to the Creator, treating children well, respecting one another. An interesting exception is "Pastore", where he calls attention to those members of the clergy that would abuse their position in society for pleasure and personal gain. Pitshu can still be readily found singing at the parties in the centre of São Paulo - His old collaboration w/ Strikkly Vikkly sometimes comes to the stage, and he has started working with a live band, Massahara, as well. credits released Octo

Search Add 3 The Potters Wood Kingswood Silver Band Founded in 1892 as the Bristol East Temperance Band by George William White for the miners in the locality, the Band has had a continuous presence in local activities and wider afield. The White family, widely known in East Bristol, were heavily involved from the beginning in conducting, teaching, playing and administering the Band's affairs. The Band participated in various contests with the highlight of each year being the West of England Championships in Spring. The Band was consolidating its return to the Second section prior to the merger. Kingswood (Bristol) Band The Kingswood Bristol Band, as it is was last known, was formed in 1958 by Mr Herbert Sevier. Consisting initially of boys from the Potters Wood Methodist Church it went by the name of 'Kingswood and District Band'. The first rehearsal, taken by Herbert, was on 14th January 1959. The band rapidly grew in numbers and success, reaching the National Finals in London in 1966. It was also in 1966 that the now 'Potters Wood Kingswood Hill, Bristol Silver Band' amalgamated with the Albion Dockyard Silver Band who were also conducted by Herbert Sevier. The band's name now changed to the 'Kingswood (Potters Wood) Silver Band'. The band was now going from strength to strength, culminating in promotion to the Championship Section. The band secured sponsorship from local manufacturing company Bendix in 1976, a partnership that lasted over 20 years. 'The Bendix Kingswood Band' again reached Championship status in 1988. A severe lack of players almost caused the band to fold in the mid 1990's but, through the loyalty of the members, built its way back up. In 2000, the band was placed 1st in the regional championships held at the Riviera Centre, Torquay, becoming the Boosey & Hawkes National Brass Band Champions of the West of England (2nd Section) enabling them to compete in the National Finals in Preston. The band qualified again in 2001, again enabling them to compete in the National Finals. In this year both the Regionals and Finals were held in Torquay! Although throughout the banding world they became known as 'The Bendix Band', sponsorship from the Bendix company eventually ceased with the company's demise. With this in mind, in July 2006 the band changed its name to the 'Kingswood Bristol Band'. Thus maintaining its links to the community it regards as home.

Search Add 3 Franklin Haynes From Promo literature included with 99 Proof: (Transcribed as written) Franklin "Cindefella" Haynes, is 99% Proof, proof that it can be accomplished in short dreams as well as long dreams, in small town such as Lumberton, Texas as well as big cities like New York, not often, but it is possible. Franklin has the good looks, talent, and persistence to be a number one country recording artist. Not that good looks and persistence are or are not the key ingredients, but they sure do help, and I don't know anyone who would turn either one down. Franklin admits Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt are his greatest inspiration to become a singer, but, unlike others, Franklin never sang in bars or concerts, or at picnics. Franklin Haynes only sang in his pickup truck, traveling the highways and byways of Southwest Texas. Franklin's friends suggested he enter a talent contest in Beaumont, Texas, he did, and won the contest, pleasing the crowd with his magical voice. Seven days later, Franklin Haynes was on his way to Nashville to record his first record release with A.M.I. Records. This quickly led to a video and a fie year recording contract. Franklin Haynes, a medicine man (as in doctor) yesterday, a recording artist today. A.M.I. Records President, Michael Radford says "he has never seen it happen quite so fast for any "up" and "coming" star," and is happy with Kvin Waugh, A.M.I VP viewed the video of the Beaumont Texas Talent show with Franklin's performance. His enthusiasm quickly spread throughout the company, "A.M.I. is very excited about working with Franklin. Franklin makes the crowd come alive, as you would have found had you visited his press and signing party sponsored by A.M.I in Beaumont, Texas where Franklin debuted his new single and video and signed autographs. On hand were two of the three local T.V stations, both local news papers as well as the top two Country Radio Stations to interview him for feature "home boy makes good" news stories. Later that same evening he gave a superb performance to a filled house, at the Barbaray Coast Night Club. The folks around Beaumont and Lumberton are mighty proud of this musical newcomer. Watch for his first Music Video "99% PROOF", being aired on such major networks as TNN and CMT, and his first CD release of the same title. You'll find cameo performances in the video by David Chamberlain, writer of 99% PROOF and of such #1 hits as ** George Straights "AM I BLUE" ** "WHAT'S GOING ON IN YOUR WORLD" ** TANYA TUCKER'S "WITHOUT YOU WHAT AM I GONNA' DO WITH ME". If you are ever in an area where FRANKLIN HAYNES is appearing, make sure you catch his show, you will be glad for the experience of seeing his performance and you will be a fan from then on. So...the sleepy little town of Lumberton, Texas has a real, true to life Cindefella story and they're mighty proud of it. Thanks Garth and Travis for the inspiration!!!
