Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 7 | Aminus | The brainchild of a devotion to synth pop 80's, house and RnB, aMinus is the solo electro-pop project of Berlin-based Valentin Plessy, founding member of dance-clash ensemble Plateau Repas and drummer of Kool Thing. On his first album "Almost and Maybe" (Zingy Record), aMinus drew his inspiration from narratives centered around gender and chaotic relationships which characterize our everyday life. Singles such as "My Mind's Away" and "Billy" gained success in the underground Berlin scene and reached a bigger audience through the videos directed by Robin Plessy. His second album "Options" (Mad Dog & Love Records) is a reflection of expectations and uncertainties which follow one chaotic relationship. aMinus’ atmospheric & eloquent execution of these themes melodically is exposed in the debut single "Don’t Mind Me Now", featuring Magritte Jaco, singer of Plateau Repas and the second: « I can Try » featuring Kaey.

Search | Add | 7 | Jonn Hawley | Jonn Hawley | House producer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Music and dance have always been driving forces in Jonn Hawley's life. At age nine Hawley learned to play the saxophone, cello, and stand up bass. As a teenager music continued to shape the course of Hawley's life; in the late eighties he began break dancing. In 1991 Jonn started actively pursuing his love of music as a deejay. Hawley drew inspiration from the budding house and techno music scenes in Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit. His career as deejay was influenced by the sounds of brother Michael J and other deejays such as Derrick Carter, Ralphi Rosario, Mark Farina, Derrick May, and Green Velvet. Hawley's musical talents were quickly recognized. Along with playing at numerous raves he soon found himself playing at some of the most influential clubs in Chicago and Milwaukee. He was also named resident deejay at Milwaukees Summerfest in 1999. In 2000 Hawley decided to put together all the pieces of musical knowledge he had acquired throughout his life and dive into the world of production. In 2002 Hawley began releasing tracks using the aliases Under Origin and 5900 West. He also established Foundation 75, his production studio. Then in 2003 Hawley launched his label, Soul Fuel Recordings at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida. Currently, Hawley is busy traveling to deejay, releasing tracks on his own, as the Sound Navigators, as Mr. Drobot, and as Organized Crime on various underground house labels and his own label Soul Fuel Recordings. Whether he is deejaying, producing, or running his label the one sure and unchanging characteristic of Hawley's style is this: He will never be ordinary... |

Search | Add | 7 | Bagga Matumbi | Lannie Glenmore Fagan | Lannie Glenmore "Bevin" Fagan (aka Bagga Matumbi), singer, songwriter and record producer, born May 11 1953; died April 3 2008 Born near Kingston, Jamaica, Fagan moved to the UK aged seven and settled in Battersea, south-west London, where his father was minister of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion church; Fagan first learned to sing there and the soulful voices of visiting brethren from church branches in the US influenced his singing. While attending Spencer Park secondary school, Wandsworth, Fagan became friendly with Barbados-born Dennis Bovell, who had already formed a psychedelic rock band called Stonehenge with another Caribbean immigrant classmate, Errol Pottinger, on lead vocals. Although never officially a member of Stonehenge, Fagan demonstrated his ability to harmonise with Bovell and Pottinger in the school playground. Stonehenge disbanded in 1970 and from its ashes rose Matumbi, a Yoruba word signifying rebirth. Although the group already had Pottinger and Tex Dixon handling vocals, Bovell recruited Fagan, who had briefly worked as a bank clerk after leaving school, to allow for three-part vocal harmony. In its early days, Matumbi gained kudos backing visiting Jamaican stars Ken Boothe and I-Roy, sharing the stage with luminaries including Peter Tosh. Their earliest recording, a cover version of Hot Chocolate's Brother Louie, led by Bovell, gained them a contract with Trojan records, who also issued Wipe Them Out, the first release featuring Fagan on lead vocals, as well as the significantly more popular After Tonight, led by Pottinger. Their reputation was boosted by a cover version, with Fagan on lead, of The Man in Me, a Bob Dylan song the group first became aware of when covered by the Persuaders; Matumbi's rendition was the bestselling British reggae single of 1976. Tired of being pigeonholed as a covers band and generally displeased by Trojan's strategy, Matumbi broke away after a problematic period that saw Dixon, keyboardist Nick Bailey and Pottinger moving on, resulting in Fagan being promoted to official lead vocalist and his younger brother Glaister joining the group. In 1978, the revitalised band signed to EMI's Harvest label, and the resultant album, Seven Seals, contained the nostalgic Blue Beat and Ska, as well as the theme song to the television series Empire Road, which Fagan had a large hand in writing. They also toured extensively with Ian Dury and the Blockheads, which broadened their following, while band members were also involved in side projects, including one featuring Fagan's older sister Sylvia, who recorded under the name Guardian Angel. Matumbi's follow-up album, Point of View, with several songs co-written by Fagan, provided a pinnacle of popularity when its title track reached No 35 in the UK pop charts in 1979. Their final eponymous disc for EMI, and their 1982 album Testify, recorded in Jamaica and co-produced by Fagan and drummer Euton Jones, were less successful. (Source: The Guardian) |

Search | Add | 7 | מיסטר הרי | יוסי הרי | The beginning of Yossi Hari's career was in 1979 when "Triton" studios and the producer Solo Yurman held a project to discover young talents called "Solo Rishon". With the help of the best musicians and arrangers, a first chance was given to new singers and creators, who would not have had a chance to get to the recording studio in any other way. Most of these "young talents" remained unknown (their nickname among the professionals was "fish", that is, those who catch them, "make" some money on them, and nothing comes out of them), but there were a few whose "first solo" was a first step in their career, even if very late (among them, many years later, Pablo Rosenberg, then a writer and singer in the band Miktzav 33, broke through). Mister Harry was exceptional. He wrote and composed songs for himself and others in the "Solo Rishon" project (among them "The stars never shone for me" for Gil Ran) and was the only one of the "Solo Rishon" artists to complete the recording of an entire album in real-time. Everything happened thanks to the hit that came out on the radio in January 1980, "Don't forget us". Mr. Hari wrote, composed, and sang, Ilan Wirtzberg arranged and produced the music. The success of the song brought after it a series of other attempts in the charts, which did not have similar success: "The whole city is laughing at Me", "I Had to tell you" and "Sara Sara Blues". Although success was not guaranteed, the producer Solo Yurman decided to produce for Mister Hari an entire album with songs that Hari wrote and composed, including "I saw your eyes", "We followed the Sun" and "It Lasted for almost years". Ilan Wirtzberg arranged and produced musically (except for the song "Knock on the Door" which was arranged by David Kribushi) and the best musicians participated in the recordings. Among them are Haim Kario, Haim Romano, and Gil Dor on guitars, Miki Shabib and Moti Dichna on bass, Alona Toral and Avner Kaner on keyboards, Shlomo Hammi, Meir Israel and Alon Hillel on drums. At the end of 1981, the album "Don't Forget Us !!!" was released (the exclamation marks in the original) in a small record company ("Simphonia") that dealt only a little with Israeli music. Perhaps that is also why the sales promotion of the album was limited and its sales were limited. Mister Hari recorded several more songs, among which reached the charts until the beginning of 1984, songs such as "Olala", "Maybe Now Maybe You Decide", "When you are big", "What's Wrong with you baby" and "I had a lady", but these songs also did not win Attentively. At the end of the decade, he made another attempt, this time under his real name (with the mention of "Mister" in parentheses). He recorded "There's Always a Chance" arranged and produced by Molly Shay and "Ten Years (She Calling me Mizrahi)" arranged and produced by Gerry Eckstein. Even this round did not bring the hoped-for comeback and he disappeared from the media for a long time. In the '90s, with the revival of nostalgia for the '80s, "Don't forget us" also returned and appeared in various compilation albums. At the beginning of 2001, a new record by Mister Hari arrived on the radio: "A Soldier's Farewell Song". He wrote, composed, produced, and arranged with Ofer Yair. The inscription on the radio record promised: "From a new disc that will be released soon". |

After that she took singing lessons with Carlo Bino who schooled her voice according to the old-ltalian belcanto method, which he himself had been taught by Tito Schipa, and to which some other well-known singers owe their reputation as well. After that Viktoria became a professional singer and is equally at home singing Bach or Mozart as well as Gershwin or opera and oratorio. Search | Add | 7 | Nitewreckage | CELINE HISPICHE (vocals) mixes bawdy music hall and ballsy punk rock in one explosive package. Born in Paris and raised on her parents’ record collections – an unlikely blend of punk rock and music hall - she began her career as a featured writer at London’s Royal Court Theatre, creating a unique act that combined music, history and comic monologues. She has also performed on Broadway and toured with cast members of Saturday Night Live. One of her oddest and most enjoyable assignments was to perform for the artist Louise Bourgeois at her New York salon. Back home in London, she has opened for Harry Hill and Marc Almond, performed at the Royal Festival Hall, and won rave reviews for her 2007 cabaret show at the Edinburgh Festival. DAVE BALL (programming) needs little introduction. He formed Soft Cell with Marc Almond in 1979, while they were studying art together at college in Leeds. Together they wrote and performed countless Eighties hits, starting with 1981 UK chart-topper Tainted Love. In the Nineties he notched up another run of hits as half of a second duo, The Grid, with Richard Norris. Dave has also produced and collaborated with artistes as diverse as Kylie Minogue, The Virgin Prunes, Earl Brutus and Billie Ray Martin, and remixed many more, including David Bowie, The Happy Mondays, Erasure, Depeche Mode, Boy George and The Pet Shop Boys. In addition, he has performed live with artistes such as Cabaret Voltaire, Psychic TV and krautrock pioneers Faust. RICK MULHALL (programming) started in the music industry in 1979 – the same year as Dave Ball – in the band English Evenings, before turning solo under the wing of Pete Waterman and his PWL team. In 1987 he formed Kick Production with Terry Neale, writing and producing for an array of artistes, ranging from Rolf Harris to Jeff Beck. He performed with the band Ultrasonic before forming his own label Dufflecoat Records. Rick began collaborating with Dave Ball on remixes two years ago under the Nitewreckers banner. He is currently working on a variety of music projects for the BBC and writing and producing for the Skull Bandits, as well as running the Richmond recording studios of Kick Production, where Celine & Nite Wreckage record. TERRY NEALE (drums) studied clarinet at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, before studying composition and arranging at Leeds College of Music. Drums and percussion then became his main instrument as he began writing, recording and working as a session musician. After forming Kick Production with Rick Mulhall, Terry began a 20-year career composing music for film and television at their Soho studios. He has played live with Transglobal Underground and Temple of Sound, and currently combines writing for Lovelabltd.com, touring with the band Loungeclash and playing with Celine And Nite Wreckage.
