Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The band included: Artur Wilczynski: Artur «Stix» Wilczynski is Canadas Ambassador to Norway and the groove behind Diplomatic Immunity. Randy Stocker: Acoustic/rhythm guitar, vocals; Government of Canada employee by day, aspiring balladeer by night. Jim DeHart: Deputy Chief of Mission/Charges d’affairs at the US Embassy Oslo, has played in a string of mediocre rock bands throughout his 24-year diplomatic career, including «Rogue State» and «Taliband» during his time in Afghanistan. Ørjan Tverbakk: Motor Pool Supervisor at the U.S. Embassy, 15 years and counting in US State Department. Started his first punk rock band in 1979 and has never really stopped. Previous experience from bands like «[a1553914]» with their monster hit «Lesbian Toe Suckers» landed him the «Diplomatic Immunity»-gig. Self-proclaimed bassmeister and rock’n roll-instructor. Erik Skøld: Actor, teacher and Artur’s Personal Trainer. Has been deeply involved in dubbing and voice acting for over 20 years.

Search Add 2 Peter Ritchie Calder Peter Ritchie Calder British writer Ritchie Calder narrated a 1955 album “Science in Our Lives” presented as various “observations” about how science relates to man and how we organise the world. Calder was a socialist and peace activist, and was interested in the public understanding of science and this rare album presents a very “human” view of science. By contrast, Calder's voice is disarmingly robotic as sampled on the track "Human Spiritual" from the 1996 self-titled album by Mockingbone, which credits him as vocalist: "Create a better world for mankind... enlarge the human spirit".

Search Add 2 Lars DK Nielsen Danish keyboards player. The Modern Musical Tale of the Ugly Duckling … LarsDK was only 9 years old when he first threw his organ in Dad’s car and stayed driven to work. It was the start of several thousand jobs in Zealand assembly houses, sports halls and for town parties. There was no doubt in the young LarsDK’s musical mind which way he went should be alive … A life of music. Cut to many years later, when you almost can’t open a television program, turn on a radio or watch a concert without LarsDK. All of a sudden, things went strong from the assembly houses to the boned musicals floors. Burhan G, Rasmus Mountain’s John Mogensen Show, Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt, Stig Ross, and countless TV shows, just to name a few of them as callers LarsDK in. There is a picture of an incredibly versatile musician who knows his genres and manages to play music with heart. Speaking of heart … A late night time on the way home over the Great Belt Bridge led a talk with friend and colleague Bobo Moreno, for a mutual challenge; They should each especially, like dogma, the following week write 3 songs to kick each other in once again with the songwriting … and it helped! For Lars, the beginning of songwriting has been about breaking own boundaries. When one like him has been playing professionally since the age of 9, you have been paying attention many good songs and it may scare a little. But now the time was ripe to be brave and it opened to one, until now closed, musical lock… more than 50 songs toppled out of Lars, and now they are best selected so that Denmark can listen to LarsDK’s amazing songs. The lyrics are about children, family, boyfriends, marriage, parents, siblings, and ups & downs … in short; songs about growing and ending as an adult. The songs are written in a mood of westcoast, country, gospel and disco, and with very deep roots in the Danish pop tradition. The songs are hand-played by some of the very best musicians we have in the country and The North, and makes up today’s template music, in its “not hunting” on it fast hit. LarsDK is a fantastic pianist and a fabulous singer and he shows that fortunately on this album… closer does not come LarsDK.

Search Add 2 ex->tension This is an LP collaboration with G.W. Bielski, who had lured me out of musical seclusion. Subsequently we brought my Ritual Tension band mates on board for some of the tracks. The Kiss is 9 tracks total and runs 35+ minutes. And I promise you, like many kisses, it may not be completely to your liking. In fact I think it has something to displease everyone! It’s a lot about the spoken word, lots of poetry, which should discourage most people. But if you’re a poetry purist, it has a lot of music too, and not very normal music either. It’s spooky in parts, pulsing in certain sections, weird ass shit altogether. If you’re into melody, well, there’s ‘noise,’ it’s ‘experimental.’ If you’re deeply into noise, there’s’ melody,’ and ‘singing.’ There’s even a beat in some of the songs, but not a lot, if you’re into beat. If you like stuff well-defined, this isn’t for you, either. If you’re a complete weirdo and into Ritual Tension, all members of the band are present, but collaborating on separate tracks, which is one reason it’s called ex->tension. Really only elements that are unequivocally high quality and pleasing are the cover art work by my bro Andrew Nahem, the soundscapes by Gregg, the contributions by my mates Marc Sloan, Michael Shockley and Andrew, and sound mastering by Scott Anthony. This is my first record release in more than a couple decades, and I’m kinda proud of it, and of my mates too. FYI: we’ll be putting it up on some streaming services and doing some live RECORD RELEASE gigs in the next few months, in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and NYC. See you there. Cheers. - Ivan Nahem Ritual Tension / ex->tension July 7th, 2017

Search Add 2 The Five Tymes Garage band from Duluth, MN. Don Legendre and Jerry Pelletier started playing guitars together in 1962, and recruited John Flint and Bob Berini to play with them. Paul Ottinger was added as lead vocalist later. All five were students at Duluth East HS. Don, Bob and Jerry played Guitar. John Flint played Drums and Sax. They were playing local gigs and dances when [a5581102], a DJ for WEBC radio in Duluth, heard them, took them under his wing and got them additional dances and a recording session in Minneapolis. The label changed their name from the Marauders to the Five Tymes (presumably because another band was already using that name).

Search Add 2 Saint Jude's Day Saint Jude's Day formed in 1996 when [a=John Mulhouse], drummer for [a=Bombsite] and the [a=Kung Fools], and [a=Kris Anderson], bassist of [a=The Strike (2)], began playing after their respective bands broke up. [a=Zak Boerger] joined on guitar and vocals and the trio started writing and practicing in earnest. This full-band version of Saint Jude's Day proved to be short-lived, however, when Kris left to pursue other endeavors. Zak and John continued, rehearsing a variety of originals, as well as covers by Gang of Four, the Rolling Stones, and The Who. After unsuccessful attempts to find a full-time bassist or second guitarist, it was decided in late 1997 to disband Saint Jude's Day after recording the completed originals. For the recording, [a=Mark Wilcox] of [a=Destroy!], [a=Impetus Inter], and [a=No Statik], amongst others, played bass. In 2004, Saint Jude's Day reconvened to record new material and play two shows. For this recording, in addition to Zak and John, [a=Scott Cook] of [a=Porcelain Boys], [a=Bombsite], and [a=The Ronnie Buxtons] played bass. Zak would go on to play in psyche-folk project [a=These Wonderful Evils].

Search Add 2 The Pacificaires The Pacificaires are the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 1969 Far Western District Champions. The Pacificaires first formed in 1966 when Fred Dregne (baritone) and Al Huebner (bass) met with Mike Hemphill (tenor) and a new chapter member, Rudy Wissler (lead), to form a new quartet. Rudy had been a child actor from 1941-1950) appearing in 26 movies. His most notable appearance was in “The Jolson Story” where he provided the singing voice for the young Al Jolson. The quartet’s first contest was the 1967 FWD contest in San Diego where they placed 4th. In 1968, Al Huebner fell ill and was replaced by Bill Fritz as bass, he passed away soon after. The quartet qualified for their first international contest in the spring of 1969 and went on to place 8th that summer in St. Louis. In 1970, in Atlantic City, NJ, the Pacificaires were pleased to earn 3rd place bronze medals. They slipped back to 4th in 1971 in New Orleans. In 1972, in Atlanta, GA, they were very pleased to earn 2nd place silver medals. Some of their most popular songs that they competed with were “Cross That Mason-Dixon Line”, “Swanee”, “Waiting For the Robert E. Lee”, and many more. In early 1973, Mike had surgery and had to take a temporary leave of absence from the quartet. Instead, they decided to replace him with Al Mau, tenor of the Western Continentals. They repeated as 2nd place silver medalists in 1973 in Portland, much to their dismay. They released their one and only LP that same year entitled, “A Good Day”. This album featured many of their show favorites such as “It’s A Good Day”, “Ace In The Hole”, “Lost In The Stars”, and their very popular, “Jolson Medley”. The quartet placed 2nd for the third time in 1974 in Kansas City. Following this contest, the quartet decided to stop competing. They decided to retire from the show circuit in 1975 after nearly 9 years of singing together. However, in October of 1980, the quartet was asked to come out of retirement to help the struggling Napa Chapter with their show and they did. Mike Hemphill returned to the tenor slot for the first time in 7 years. This would sadly be the final performance of the original Pacifiaires as Fred Dregne would pass away on February 4, 1988 at the age of 61. The Pacificaires sang their last show to date in the early 1990’s with Chuck Brooks, lead of the Colonials, substituting on baritone. Mike Hemphill later created and released a CD of these final 2 performances. Today only Mike Hemphill and Al Mau survive. Mike is retired and lives in Loveland, CO with his wife, Jan. He still actively sings in his local barbershop chapter. Al Mau would later return to the Western Continentals and sing with them again for many more years. Today, he is retired and lives in Arizona with his wife of over 70 years, Alice. Bill Fritz died on November 23, 1996 at the age of 76 in Oregon. Rudy Wissler went on to continue singing solo gigs at Al Jolson tributes and continued singing barbershop in the local area where he lived. Rudy died on January 11, 2007 at the age of 78. In addition to all the competing they did, the Pacificaires averaged 35 shows a year in their 9 year career. Everywhere they traveled they all dressed alike and were jokingly confused for a bowling team many times. Today, they are remembered as one of the greatest barbershop quartets and many can still remember hearing them in person all those years ago.

Search Add 2 The Goodkind The Goodkind was born in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara in 1996 when lead singer/songwriter Tim Stone moved in with three friends in order to attend UCSB and pursue his English degree. His early band enjoyed instant success in the area playing nightly shows all over Santa Barbara. They recorded and produced their first CD "Strange New Life" which sold 2000 copies in just two weeks. They had radio airplay and were asked to play on the UCSB campus numerous times as well. Tim left Santa Barbara in late 1997 to attend a more academic school in southern California, UCI, where he earned his degree in 2000. While in Socal he met RJ Williams who worked with him at the original First Class Pizza location in VIlla Park, close to his families home. This pairing of Tim Stone and RJ Williams pushed the envelope of the earlier music to new heights. They recorded another 'quick' CD at Running Wild Studios with engineer/producer/songwriter Paul Levi entitled '5-4-5'. This was a five song CD which they sold for 5 dollars, hence the name. This CD also sold about 3000 copies in about one month, only due to the heavy work schedule that both members had to endure and the small number of shows that they were able to line up in between. Finally Tim and RJ decided to make a "real" CD, one that they would actually take more than three eight hour days to record. They enlisted the help of musician/engineer/producer Shawn Sullivan. Shawn was the recording/engineering instructor at Orange Coast College and began sneaking the boys into late night sessions on the campus and in a wherehouse space in Newport Beach. While recording, their early tracks were heard by another artist who was also recording with Shawn. He saw so much potential in the tracks that he took the boys under his wing and began paying for all of their recording time. This CD, entitled 'The Goodkind' sold close to 6000 copies in just two months. The amazing thing was that the band only played 10 shows in those two months and besides the random one or two sold to friends, all 6000 copies were gone after those 10 shows. The Goodkind has played shows at The Pond in Anaheim, The Galaxy Theatre, The Doll House in Fullerton, The Boogie, Hennessy's Taverns all over OC, private art shows, UC campuses, and many many other smaller venues in OC. Tim now writes and records his own music in his home studio in Huntington Beach and is looking for someone in the industry with 'clout' to help him get national and international exposure. Tim's early success and excellent music bode well for his future and the future of anyone willing to help him get to the next level.
