Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Hot Head Fiasco AKA The Hot Head Swing Band. This band is fantastic. Live, they have amazing energy, and there are a few live tracks on this album where this shows through. In studio, they're no less fantastic. The lead singer, Dana, has the savviest, sweetest sounding voice; you feel like you're being transported back 60 years listening to her. Foot-stomping music; in Minneapolis, where they're from, they have an absolutely devoted following of era-garbed swing dancers that really can strut their stuff. The Hot Heads are an up and coming swing band from Minnesota...they play killer swing with a touch of western flavor. All the tracks are strong and vary in length and tempo so there's never a dull moment. Strong instrumentation and excellent vocals make this sucker Really swing!

Mauro Fogliaresi: voce narrante, Cristiano Stella: voce, cori e chitarra acustica, Paolo Fan: voce, cori e chitarra acustica,Simone Riva: chitarre e contrabbasso, Igor Congedo: violino, Giovanni Colombo: Fisarmonica e Cajon

Search Add 2 Nono Manzanza Originally from Kinshasa, Nono Manzanza began his musical career when he was very young. Very quickly, we find him in the Kinaxixi Musica group. In 1990, he settled down in Europe, joined [a=Diblo Dibala]'s Matchatcha. A world tour follows with his new acolytes. Then he decides to leave Paris for Orlando, in the United States where he will live for a year before settling permanently in Paris. He is often found alongside big names in African music such as [a=Papa Wemba], [a=Felix Wazekwa]. But it is his collaboration on [a=Kassav']'s Ktoz album that will confirm his talent and versatility. It is therefore no surprise that in 1999 he released his first album: Peace quite simply, a nod to the war that has been stirring the Congo for years. This spring 2015, he announced an EP, Carte sur table. There are songs in French and Lingala, his mother tongue. Between walks and current music, it is a real cultural mix that Nono offers us.

Search Add 2 Transfigured Night "Great band, wonderful songs" Al DeLoner who's the composer and a founder of this band is the same guy who writes and play for Midnight Choir. He's an incredible songwriter and in this go around he's partnered with the lovely Rikke Knudsen writing the lyrics and singing the songs. Wonderful music. Though they are often described as "roots" or "Americana" they remind me most of the Velvet Underground, Patty Smith and others who did folk/rock with an attitude from back in the day - but with a European flair. This group really deserves some recognition on this side of the pond. If you like them, and you will, then also give a listen to Midnight Choir as well. -William D. Childers (From Amazon.com)

Search Add 2 Moshiach Oi! Moshiach Oi! is an American Hasidic hardcore punk band from Long Beach, New York. Formed in 2008 by lead singer Yishai Romanoff and guitarist Mike Wagner, they released their debut album, Better Get Ready (2009), on Shemspeed Records, followed in 2011 by This World is Nothing. They were prominently featured in the 2012 documentary Punk Jews. Moshiach Oi! was started in 2008 by singer/guitarist Yishai Romanoff, who sought to reconcile his then-recently renewed Jewish faith with the punk rock music he had loved as a teenager. Initially a solo act, Romanoff eventually brought in his friend Mike Wagner, as well as bassist Mitchell "Mordechai" Harrison and drummer Paul "Pesach" Alpert, to complete the band. The group's debut album, Better Get Ready, produced by Wagner and mastered by veteran punk producer Don Fury, was released by Shemspeed Records and the band's own Shabasa Records label on August 25, 2009. A second album, This World is Nothing, was released two years later just on Shabasa, accompanied by the single and music video "Got Nothing On Me". The band was prominently featured in the 2012 documentary Punk Jews. A third album, Rock Rabeinu, was released on August 10, 2017.
