Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Purple Strange PURPLE STRANGE are made up of a few familiar names. While wandering through France a few years ago, Jared Stroud wrote a bunch of songs about rivers, fake forests and honey-bowl lepers, but he didn't have a band. He turned to drummer friend Matt Vandenberghe for help recording his songs. Kurt Danielson was asked to play bass, and he asked his friend Ron "Nine" Rudzitis to play guitar. Jack Endino was brought in to engineer, and he ended up playing guitar as well. Suddenly Stroud had a band. They wrote more songs. One night in the studio when the lights went out during rehearsal, they discovered that their amplifiers were glowing with a violet aura, even though there was no electricity. They dubbed the phenomenon Purple Strange.

Search Add 2 Nite'n Gale Ruth Siegenthaler Born on the longest day of the year, the middle-class name of Nite'n Gale - Ruth Siegenthaler - indicates her Emmental origins. Her voice, breathing and special singing fascinated her from an early age. Thus singing and music not only grew into her favourite pastimes, but were also daily elements in her chosen profession as a speech therapist. Today she has her own practice and works as an energy therapist. Nite'n Gale started her singing career at the age of 16. She describes soul, jazz and blues as her musical "foremothers", which bring out her full voice particularly well. In her incredibly active life, singing classical works had as much place as experience with international song contests, a cappella formations or with a musical role in Anatevka. Together with Marc Bangerter and Bernhard Ferrario the project Nite'n Gale was started in autumn 1995 and produced 3 singles.

Search Add 2 The Oak Street Ramblers Madison, WI Though their influences hail from much further south, the Oak Street Ramblers call home the East Side of Madison, WI. A bluegrass band in the tradition of Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, and Hazel Dickens, the Oak Street Ramblers specialize in bluegrass stompers, classic country weepers, and originals that, lyrical content aside, wouldn’t sound out of place at a barn dance circa 1954. The band is comprised of Ian Alderman on guitar, dobro, and vocals, Annie Emmenegger on guitar and vocals, Jeff Kunkle on bass, Mark Schlutt on banjo and vocals, and Tina Thompson on fiddle. The Ramblers started playing out at the legendary Wonder’s Pub in 2004, and they currently have a monthly residency at the Harmony Bar and Grill. They have acquired a solid fan base, sold thousands of copies of their two albums, and have been voted a favorite Madison-area folk/bluegrass/Americana band on multiple occasions.

Search Add 2 William E. Bowman William Ernest Bowman William Ernest Bowman (* September 30, 1911 in Scarborough; † January 1, 1985) was an engineer and writer. The hobby mountaineer's best-known work, which is still published today, is the satire The Ascent of Rum Doodle, published in 1956 and based on Bill Tilman's report on the expedition to Nanda Devi. In it, Bowman parodies the relatively pompous writing style that characterized British expedition reports in the period from 1930 to 1950. In 2009, the British newspaper The Guardian included the satire in its literary canon 1000 Novels everyone must read. Bowman was the eldest of three sons. His mother died in 1926, when Bowman was 15 years old. His father died in 1928 from the late effects of a mustard gas attack suffered during the First World War. The death of his parents led to the separation of the brothers. In the years that followed, Bowman lived in Middlesbrough, his middle brother went to Canada and his youngest brother lived at another school. Bowman left school at the age of 16 and subsequently worked as a draughtsman and later as a civil engineer. During the Second World War, he served with the Royal Air Force in Egypt as an instructor in radar technology. After the end of the war, he joined the Service Civil International and worked in Duisburg.

Search Add 2 L.B.R.P. Collaboration project between [a=Adam Matlock] and [l=Attic Shrines] label (original source material by Adam Matlock was modified and edited by Attic Shrines). "I want to speak about [L.B.R.P.] a bit as it was, as far as my dungeon synth work goes, a fairly unusual one in that it was a collaboration. I won’t go into to much detail, but my original material, recorded on 4 track in the course of 2 days, and submitted to Attic Shrines, who released it. But Attic Shrines headquarters, built as it is atop a huge deposit of unpronounceable minerals, is not a kind place to tapes. Something happens to them there - some entity, fascinated with the potentiality of analog media, takes them apart at a molecular level, and reassembles them without great care for accuracy. The result was corrupted, rearranged. Jazz people would say “Teo’d”. It was definitely an intriguing process for me as a composer and one I hope to embark upon again."

Search Add 2 Jakub Gołąbek Jakub Gołąbek (born 1739 in Silesia , died 30 March 1789 in Kraków) was a Polish composer and singer (tenor). In 1773, he became a singing teacher at the Jesuit music boarding house in Kraków, managed by Józef Zygmuntowski. As a musician, he was active first in the chapel of St. Mary's Church, and, from about 1774 until his death, in the cathedral chapel at Wawel, where he sang and for which he composed. In the years 1781–1787 he was a singing teacher at Wacław Sierakowski's music school; he took part in concerts organized by him. The Cantata in honour of St. Stanislaus composed by Gołąbek was performed in 1773 at the court of bishop Kajetan Sołtyk. Gołąbek's music played a significant role in shaping the Polish classical style. It is typical of early classicism, as it refers to the style of baroque music and the Viennese classics in terms of the construction of sonata form, theme structure, treatment of the bass part (basso continuo) and the use of elements of the galant style in slow parts of pieces (for example in Parthia). Gołąbek composed vocal music (for the Rorantists' band), vocal-instrumental music (for the cathedral band) and instrumental music. The latter is characterized by an unconventional approach to composition, especially in the melodic layer of the piece. His symphonies and sacred works were widely known at that time.

He is currently retired from rap and now works on movies and writing. JAY CREEPY HAS BEEN AN UNDERGROUND EMCEE BASED IN HULL SINCE 1988 WHEN HE JOINED A LOCAL CRU CALLED P.I.C. THROUGHOUT THE NINETIES HE WAS AN EMCEE IN T.P.I, DA DROOGZ AND IN P.U.M.A (Pure Uncut Mic Action) ALONG WITH HULL LEGEND REDEYE, DJ HUNIQUE, AND NIHILISTIC. TWO FIVE TRACK TAPES "NO FILTER" AND "TRICKERY" WERE RELEASED TO THE HULL STREETS ALONG WITH A FEW PARTY AND FREESTYLE TAPES. P.U.M.A ENJOYED SUCCESS ON THE HULL LIVE SCENE AND HAD SOME PIRATE AIRPLAY IN HULL, LONDON AND SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA, BEFORE DISBANDING LATE 1998. JAY CREEPY (AS MISTA JAY) JUMPED INTO A DIFFERENT MUSIC GENRE AND FORMED REPEATER 800 WITH BEN READ AND NOKK (aka DJ HUNIQUE). IN 2000, JAY SETTLED DOWN WITH HIS SOULMATE AND RAISED A FAMILY, OFFICIALLY RETIRING UNTIL 2007 WHEN SEVERE TALKED HIM BACK TO THE MIC. Search Add 2 What Two Left What Two Left WhatTwoLeft is a dark post-punk duo hailing from upstate New York. The influences of Lebanon Hanover, early Cure and Joy Division can be heard throughout their songs. Brandon writes and records the tunes while Tara puts pen to paper in her deeply personal lyrics. Although they have been both creating throughout their lives, WhatTwoLeft did not start as a project until late 2015. Their first self-titled demo was followed up by a digital single (Reveries Sustenance) and subsequent album, Hiraeth. They then put the vinyl compilation LP, Shared Psychosis, before completing their latest album, Children Of The Sun Shall Burn. The title of this album is a reference to the pathetic, insecure fascists who still roam this planet. Humanity cannot move forward until we look beyond borders and to the stars. WhatTwoLeft is an existential purge of the lunacy of living, songs borne of pain. The duo of Tara and Brandon Kane exorcise their demons by naming them in song. Both the E.P. and “Children Of The Sun Shall Wither” were recorded in 2016 in Ithaca, NY. Fuck all extremism. Dogma is the source of our suffering.
