Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 2 | Maude Bascome Cummings Taylor | Bermudian-born Maude Bascome Cummings Taylor emigrated as a young woman to the United States, where she established herself as a pianist, organist, music teacher and choir director. A woman with boundless energy, she ran a music school on weekdays, teaching voice and piano, and directed church choirs on Sundays. At Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, where she was a choir director for 45 years, she is remembered as a “composer, musician par excellence”. Talent Taylor, the eldest of nine children, was born in Pembroke East to Rhoda and Ainsworth Bascome, and raised as a member of St Paul AME Church. Her mother was a musician. Taylor’s musical talent emerged early in her childhood and she nurtured it all her life. She took her first piano lesson at age 3 and composed her first song when she was 12. Taylor attended the Berkeley Institute, a member of the Class of 1914. The record is silent on her growing-up years and early adulthood in Bermuda, but she is said to have played piano for silent movies. Her talent caught the attention of a US film company, which offered her a job touring the States. But she had to turn down the offer because her deeply religious father did not approve of movies. Motherhood In June 1923, at age 26, she sailed to New York aboard the Fort Victoria with the goal of furthering her studies at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, but marriage and motherhood intervened. She married Richard Cummings in 1925. The couple set up home in Brooklyn, New York, and had two children, Gloria and Richard. In the 1930s, Taylor opened a music school, where Richard Cummings also taught. Their children were among their students. Taylor’s school was later known as MBC Music Studio. She presented annual recitals and also established a scholarship fund for promising music students. Her sister, Thyra, a well-known pianist and music teacher in Bermuda, taught at the school during the 1950s. Taylor became a choir director shortly after her move to New York. She served for a year at Friendship Baptist Church, followed by 14 years at Newman Memorial Church. Her longest period of service was at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she was choir director — the position later became known as minister of music — for 45 years until her death at age 87. At Cornerstone, she led a 50-voice choir, and taught voice and piano to many of its members, at her studio. Prestigious Taylor was a lifelong student of music, taking courses at such prestigious institutions as Columbia University in New York, Matlock College in England, Mozart University in Salzburg, Austria, and Fontainebleau Schools in France, where students were accepted by audition. Taylor was twice married. She divorced her first husband and married William Taylor in 1944. According to Taylor’s obituary, the two “shared teaching duties and church fellowship happily until his demise in 1972”. Although Brooklyn would become Taylor’s permanent home, Bermudians were kept abreast of her achievements, usually through reports carried in the Bermuda Recorder. In August 1934, four of her original songs were performed at a Festival of Negro Music held at the Opera House in commemoration of the abolition of slavery. Taylor wrote many songs during her lifetime and was a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. In July 1935, the Recorder reported from New York on a recital at her school. In September 1956, the Recorder published an article about Taylor’s sister, Thyra, who had recently returned to Bermuda after four years’ residence in New York. Taylor’s MBC Studio was a thriving enterprise with six pianos, according to the article. Classes were held from morning to night. Taylor’s husband, William Taylor, taught piano and her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Frederick Dennard, taught voice at the studio. Thyra Bascome also taught there. In 1972, the Recorder reported how Taylor was honoured by Cornerstone Church at a service on October 29 that saw four church choirs taking part and many of her original compositions on the programme. According to the article, Taylor had taught hundreds of students at her school, several of whom had risen to the top ranks in music. Professional Taylor died in 1984 and was buried at The Evergreens in New York after a “service of triumph” at Cornerstone. She was survived by her daughter and son, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She passed on her musical gifts to her children and several grandchildren. Her daughter, Gloria DeNard, a graduate of the Juilliard School and a singer, was founder and director of Manna House Workshops, a music school in East Harlem, New York. She died in 2020.Taylor’s grandsons, Richard Cummings and Kenwood Dennard, are professional musicians. Kenwood Dennard is also an associate professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In 2006, Taylor was honoured posthumously with a Bermuda Arts Council Founders Award. Gloria DeNard accepted the award on her mother’s behalf and sang one of Taylor’s songs at the ceremony. | |

| Search | Add | 2 | Playground Heros | Playground Heroes Starting out in the winter of 1999, the Playground Heroes (known back then as EyeQ) started jamming in the garage with high school dreams of success, money, and groupies. Booking shows as early as 1 month of being together and only having 2 songs, while clamming to have a "full set," the Playground Heroes soon noticed that the road ahead would be far harder then expected (call it a severe case of reality biting you in the ass). Playground Heroes, who previously did not know one another until the forming of the band, quickly became a tight circle of friends who realized if they wanted their past illusions of grandeur to come true they would have to shape up and go at it full force. As quickly as possible they all put together whatever little money they had and started creating their own merchandise, CDs, and other assorted items (not to over look their van which they will be paying for till the end of time). With the realization that their was something different about themselves, they headed out on their first tour after being together barely a year. From then on there was no stopping this well oiled machine. Opening for such national bands as Mustard Plug,Against Me!, Luckie Strike, Digger, The Groovie Ghoulies, Lawrence Arms, retard-o-bot, Lanemeyer, First Grade Crush, the supervillains and more; the Playground Heroes have never slowed down their momentum. With 4 tours under their belts and over 100 shows since February of 2000, in which they have played 23 different states, and one other country (Canada), Playground Heroes see no end in their sites. Entertaining, enjoy every minute of being on stage, always playing shows, hitting the road, and having fun; the Playground Heroes will stop at nothing to accomplish everything they ever wanted as musicians. | |

| Search | Add | 2 | Poyzon | Formed in 1984 by Darrin Winne after the breakup of the original lineup of [a=Severe Warning]. Darrin started his own new band, recruiting Ace The Raven on vocals and guitar, Dave Jones on vocals and guitar, and Jimmy Shore on drums. They recorded their only studio demo at Trade Secret Recording Studio on August 11th 1984, they recorded 3 songs Live on 8-tracks, with both Ace and Jones on vocals. By the end of 84 and early 85 they had a lot more original material and a large set of cover songs as well, playing 15-20 song shows. Much of the songs had lead vocals performed by Ace, including "Time Warp" which would later be played by both [a=Severe Warning] and [a=Nitefall]. In early 1985 Dave Jones left the band, and around the same time Bryan Renken decided to create a new Severe Warning lineup. He went to recruit Winne, and soon ended up recruiting the entire Poyzon lineup, creating the 2nd incarnation of Severe Warning, in which Ace was the lead singer. In early 86 Jimmy Shore was replaced by Dave Fox, and Renken took over on lead vocals. | |

| Search | Add | 2 | Braxxton | Braxxton was originally formed in 1984 by brothers Dan Smith (drums, backing vocal) and Tim Smith (guitar, lead vocal) along with schoolmates Jeff Alleman (guitar, backing vocal) and Erik Brinkman (bass, backing vocal). Tim and Jeff were the same age (16), Dan and Erik were a year older. Tim heard that Jeff played guitar and he said he was forming a band with his brother. Jeff auditioned, mainly playing "Photograph" and "Foolin'" by Def Leppard note-for-note, they were suitably impressed, and Jeff was in. Both Jeff Alleman and Tim were into Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, all these amazing twin lead guitar bands and were wanting to do the same thing with Braxxton. Erik was a very mellow and cool guy who really liked Van Halen and wanted to play in the band, and the band needed a bassist (which Erik played bass) and the band was set. This version of the band only played at school functions such as the Homecoming Assembly and they also played at six or seven different school get togethers. The sets mainly started with covers and then toward the end of the set they would do a few originals. For being 16 and 17 years old, this was a big crowd. The auditorium at Viewmont High (Bountiful Utah) seemed beyond huge, so they had a blast every time. This lineup stayed together until December 1985 when Jeff Bagford joined as Lead Vocalist. Tim left the band at that point, so they were still a basic four piece. Jeff Alleman had recorded a demo of Jeff Bagford’s previous band on his Teac 4-track reel-to-reel (a beneficial thing to have at that time for developing songs, playing, etc) and thought he had a good, professional sounding voice, so Jeff Alleman asked if he wasn't serious with his current band, if he would join Braxxton. They had been looking for a singer for a while, because Tim wasn't particularly thrilled with it and liked focusing on playing guitar more. Jeff Bagford left his previous band and joined Braxxton. Tim had been frustrated with the band a bit, possibly more so due to him sharing it with his older brother than anything stylistic. Siblings can battle, and they were only a year or so apart age wise. Tim’s departure seemed inevitable and the band moved on with only one guitarist (Jeff Alleman). Braxxton had been planning to record a professional 24-track demo for a while, so as soon as Jeff Bagford joined they started rehearsing for the studio. Initially they planned to record just two songs, “Living in the Shadow of Your Love” and “In the Night”. Those were tracked January 6, 1986 at Audio Vision Studios in Lindon Utah by Sam Foster (The Osmonds). This was the premier studio in Utah. Many of Braxxton’s local peers recorded there, such bands as Lixx, Moviescreen and Megattack. When they (and their friends) heard how good they turned out, Braxxton started dreaming of EPs, then ultimately an album. Jeff Alleman was quickly writing new songs, so the band could get back into the studio and lay down some more tracks. Jeff Bagford recruited one of his schoolmates from Layton High School Scott Sneddon (guitar, backing vocals) to join the band in February 1986. Both Layton High boys (Jeff B. and Scott) both had long hair and looked the part of rockstars, while the Centerville boys had relatively short hair (and looked more the part of going to church than rockin’ on stage…. which wasn’t too far off). The remaining seven songs were tracked in two sessions in June 1986 and mixed in one session a couple of days later. Braxxton mainly played at all ages places, for obvious reasons. One of their main venues was a place called R COMFORTS that was run by a guy named Roger Comfort, who was a definite character. You'd sometimes see him walking with purpose, wearing a white suit, maybe carrying a gun. He drove a white Cadillac with one of those enormous early car phones. He always looked out for the band and gave them a place to play. He'd video the bands and run the shows on TV sets set up throughout the club. It was a popular gig for other locals such as CIRKUS (who Jeff Alleman later joined) and LIXX. R Comforts was open from 1985 to 1986 at 342 S. State St in SLC. The biggest show Braxxton ever played was at the Fairgrounds Horticulture Building on March 8, 1986 with MEGATTACK headlining, LIXX in the middle slot, and Braxxton opening. The crowd was 3,000 strong and the night’s lineup rocked the house. Erik couldn't make that gig because he was in a High School production, of "Brigadoon" or "Macbeth", but Tim came back and filled in on bass for that show, so Erik was off the hook. The crowed really got into songs such as “American Rock ‘N’ Roll” as well as “Plaything”, though the girls always went wild for the ballad, “Never Give Up on Love”. Erik departed the band in June of 1986 and was replaced by John Tremonte (a friend of Jeff B. and Scott). Braxxton was still very focused and determined to gain more notoriety and momentum as the band continued playing high energy shows. One of the band’s greatest accomplishments came on October 4, 1986, when the band entered Salt Lake City’s Battle of the Bands contest at the Fairgrounds Colusium. Braxxton was going up against some of Salt Lake’s finest, such bands as Aerial, Lixx, Mercenary, Equinox, Genocide and Cirkus. The heavy favorite going into the battle was Lixx, but there were many veteran bands that could strait up play. In the end, Lixx took home the crown, but it was this new band on the scene called Braxxton that took home 2nd place over Cirkus who took 3rd. The band’s last show was November 1, 1986 at Musician's Pro Shop, a music store that had a performance room. Dan left shortly thereafter on November 17, 1986 and he was briefly replaced by Scott Bennet. The band didn’t play another show and called it quits on December 6, 1986. Fast-forward to 2018. When the band was asked “What would you like included in the liner notes of the new CD”, they responded: “We're all glad to see the album getting a definitive release. Prior to this, it was circulated on cassettes from person to person, it was never officially duped on a professional scale. For me (Jeff Alleman) personally, it was good to transfer the masters and hear the band and the songs again.” Members: Tim Smith - Lead Vocals, Guitar (1984-1985) Jeff Bagford - Lead Vocals (1985-1986) Scott Sneddon - Guitar, Backing Vocals (1986) Jeff Alleman - Guitar, Backing Vocals (1984-1986) Erik Brinkman - Bass, Backing Vocals (1984-1986) John Tremonte - Bass, Backing Vocals (1986) Dan Smith - Drums, Backing Vocals (1984-1986) Scott Bennet - Drums (1986) | |

Numerous books, from Ciaikowski (1967) to Beethoven, passing through the celebrated Gustav Mahler: study for an interpretation of 1971. Ambitious for the time (1979) was also a social history of music. His predilection for study, however, remained the twentieth century, with "Music from decadentism to today" (1978), "The two streets of Schönberg" (1980, with Paolo Fenoglio), The music of the twentieth century (1986) and more recently "Aphorisms on the musical twentieth century "(2001).
