Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 6 Derek Gifford Derek has been singing for over 35 years and is well known as an excellent solo performer throughout the U.K. Some of the songs are unaccompanied but most are accompanied by Derek on guitar or bowed psaltery with the support of concertina, cello, fiddle and oboe. Chorus songs are one of Derek's specialities and the album has some great chorus singing. Apart from his love of folk song Derek is also a keen conservationist and many of the songs on this album reflect these interests giving it a strong 'green' theme.

Search Add 6 Kids Indestructible Tim Robinson and Phil Quaite Kids Indestructible are Tim Robinson and Phil Quaite. Both hail from Yorkshire, England and first began recording, under the name Antidote, in 1998. Encouraged by their friend, Beatnik Records boss Carl Emery, Antidote released a 12" EP on that label called "Riot in Studio 54". This experiment in combining the disco sound of Chic with Drum &Bass gained favourable reviews in DJ Magazine among others and eventually sold out its modest run of 500. Later they would change their style to a more expansive, ambient electronic sound. They adopted a new name, Kids Indestructible (chosen as it sounded like a cartoon series yet to be made). They decided on 'Please Avoid Strong Light' as a potential album title which has since become their catchphrase and band logo. The phrase is taken from the text on the back of packets of Seabrook Crisps manufactured in Bradford in their native Yorkshire. This also became the title of one of their definitive tracks, a vocoderised Beach Boy chant mixed with electronic drones and jaunty piano, which grabbed the attention of Parisian record label, Gooom Disques. This combination of unexpected musical influences sums up the Kids Indestructible sound very well.

Search Add 6 Grace Jackman Grace Jackman is a North London raised singer / songwriter who blends rock ‘n’ roll, 1950s nostalgia, and emotionally charged storytelling into music that feels a bit too relatable. With songs like Sour Sweetness and Autopsy Files, Grace captures feeling out of place, grief and instability, creating a sound that’s equal parts cinematic and personal. Her music lives where pink sleepover aesthetics meet horror movies whilst 1950s ballads crash into modern rock, offering fans a world that’s as visual as it is audible.

Search Add 6 The Exploding Meet The exploding meet was formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick in the autumn of 1983 as a songwriting workshop and experimental recording project. Throughout subsequent years the loose collective vastly improved production techniques and expanded early lyrical and compositional ideas. Once described as "Surrealist-Ethno-Underworld-Fusion", the Exploding Meet led by composer Mark Carmody, were equipped with standard rock instrumentation but with modified tuning and a broad palate of percussion voices which opened up a somewhat unique and mesmerizing sonic range. Rhythms and harmonic structures reflect the group’s interest in the exotic soaring dance modes of Psychedelic Rock, Jazz and Ju Ju Music. The power and freedom of Coltrane and Coleman mix with the meditative pulses of afro-centric music, Middle Eastern modes and the always present, expansive, influential body of accurately referenced material. Environmental sights and sounds from the weathered cities and diverse rural landscapes of Eastern Canada offer the greatest contribution. This atmosphere furnishes a dreamscape from which the whole identity of the music evolves. On July 13th, 1985, the exploding meet performed "Inaugural Address" @ Memorial Hall on the U.N.B. campus and thus embarked on a long journey that always focused on developing live performance potential. The intention always being to discover ways of expressing thoughts and feelings in a musical language tapped at its source. Performances over the next few years included "the Pineapple Analogy", "Slugfest ' 86", "Scream", Wolverine", "Lola Palooza ' 88", "Bard Mongrel", "Gatineau Rebellion", "Circus Of Disharmony" and many others. The collective performed many shows and released a number of albums in various formats over the course of several decades which garnered global praise from the underground and great support from Canadian community based radio. The exploding Meet performed primarily in Fredericton although a number of shows took place in Ontario and Quebec. The collective performed a number of times in their home base at "First Night", "Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival" and also at the first ever "Maritime Independent Music Festival". The exploding meet also had a “pop” side as well, which manifested itself within the division known as Decade of Dreams. Under this banner several vinyl LP’s and CDs were also released and were generally well received once again by the aforementioned recipients of recorded material. Mark Carmody also saw the release of what is truly a magical vinyl only LP which provided the soundtrack to NFB film called “Tuesday Wednesday” released under his own name. Those involved in the exploding meet collective collided through the mutually felt isolation of their existence with a desire to expand the mind. On retrospect, this appears to have been coupled with a born internal need to self discover through the channeling of music and art. Pretty much everyone to this day practices their craft in many forms and we all have extremely fond memories of our times together as “the meet”, touching the universe as one single entity whenever we played. Enjoy this experience and always remember to look for the flare!

Search Add 6 Pitt Linder Wolfgang E. Linder Swiss musician, recording engineer, radio-host, PA-builder etc. from Basel. Wolfgang E. (Pitt) Linder was born in Bern on 8 April 1924. Studied violin and clarinet at the Bern Music Conservatory, before discovering the tenor saxophone and American jazz which he helped introduce to Switzerland through orchestras and bands. He started out to play in some local Basel Jazz combos together with his brother Albert Linder in the early 50s. His first Rock & Roll record (Heartbreak Hotel b/w Minor Rock by Die Rock & Rollers) came out as a vinyl 45 back in ca. 1956/1957 on Tell Records. By 1957 he would become a recording artist for Grammoclub Ex Libris. From 1957 on until ca. into the early 1970's Big Pitt Linder would also be hosting his own weekly radio show on the national Swiss Basel Radio, where he would usually play some music by his own bands, mixed with lots of music by other bands. He used to record and a t times conducted hundreds of records for Ex Libris, and some other labels. Those records were usually recorded at Landgasthof Riehen (Basel), or at Radio DRS, Basel. His firm Linder Electronics, Basel, installed sound systems in discos, auditoriums and concert halls. The PA-system from the first Swiss Rolling Stones concert in Zürich was built by Pitt Linder. His undertaking used to be called "Linder Electronics" back then. Linder Electronics existed from the early 60s until around the mid '80s. Pitt Linder used to build the PA's for most of the local Basel Beat-bands from the 60s in order so that they could play in bigger venues. By the mid-60s virtually nobody would remember him as an old Jazz, and Rock & Roll musician anymore, but he built the PA system for the Montreux Jazz Festival. Later on towards the late 80s he moved to New Jersey, USA, to become a famous recording engineer (for mostly classical music) in New York City. He designed and installed the sound and light system for the Swiss Pavilion for the World Expo in Tsukuba Japan (1985). The last 14 years of his life were spent in Victoria BC Canada where he enjoyed hiking and the renowned classical and jazz community. He was a friend to the Victoria Conservatory of Music, who established a Pitt Linder Memorial Fund for young musicians after his death at the age of 94 on 1 December 2018.

Search Add 6 Laurens Tol Laurens Tol Laurens Tol is only 28 years old, but has become an integral part of the Volendam music scene. The bass player is involved in the lion's share of local musical projects. Although he graduated from the Conservatory five years ago, he still studies his instrument every day. This institution has done him no harm. "What I really thought was a great honor, for example, was raiding the 3JS," the musician proudly explains. Laurens has now reached a new milestone. His debut album, entitled The Four Trees, is complete and will be presented next Friday. By Kevin Mooijer In 2013 the Volendammer unknowingly writes the first song for the piece that would become his debut album five years later. ,, At the time I was very active with improvisation lessons from a good guitarist. After a few sessions, the teacher asked me to come up with my own piece a week later. I tried and actually liked it. ”Laurens got the taste for it and often ventured to write instrumental compositions. ,, At one point I had dozens of pieces on my computer and then the idea of making a record came up carefully. Once that thought is alive, you start using it much more intensively. Songs are improved and you want to create a certain line in the album, so it takes a lot more time. " There is good reason why The Four Trees is an instrumental album in a jazz atmosphere. ,, I really like to solo and improvise. You can hear that on the album, also with the other cooperating musicians. Whereas in pop music, for example, you are primarily supporting as a musician, in jazz you have room for improvisation. ” Despite the fact that jazz is often regarded as heavy music, it appears that Laurens ’album is experienced as very accessible. ,, Various people, both music lovers and musicians, have already touched on me with positive reactions about the atmosphere of the music. In the early stages it felt a bit uncomfortable to make this album, because I am used to playing music that appeals to me. So I am very happy that a lot of people like it. " Four instruments can be heard on The Four Trees; the bass guitar, guitar, alto saxophone and drums. The musicians who play the instruments are (old) acquaintances of Laurens from the music world. ,, For such a project as musicians it is important that you have a good click with each other. The boys who participated in this album vary in age between their twenties and fifties. They are all great guests and moreover virtuosos. ”In addition to Laurens Tol on the bass guitar, you can hear Tom Rutgers (drums), Florian Hierdeis (guitar) and Erik van der Weijden (alto saxophone). ,, I am really proud of the end result. As a bass player you have the possibility to record your own album in the studio, that is such a special experience. Nobody takes that away from me anymore. "

Search Add 6 Mikalveli Mikal Battle Just like Texas, Florida, L.A., and currently the A.T.L. has been the “It Factor, the go to place for all things music” North Carolina is getting in where it fits in and is taking the reins. North Carolina is on the rise for music artist and it’s their time to shine. We have already witnessed some very accomplished talent come out of North Carolina like J.Cole, Fantasia, Petey Pablo and most recently DaBaby. There is a upcoming artist in the making who will be just the one to bring it home to North Carolina and make North Carolina the new go to place to scout talent. His name is Mikal Battle but in the music game you will find him going by the name Mikalveli aka Veli Baby. Mikalveli was born February 6, 1993 and calls North Carolina home, Greensboro to be exact. He doesn’t forget his original home town roots and so he represents both the (252) and (336) area codes but he is definitely riding and grinding for Greensboro. Veli’s music goes back to around 4th grade when his mom bought him his first electric guitar. He always had an ear for music oddly enough he couldn’t read music however he didn’t allow that to stop him because he learned to play by ear. If that isn’t enough to make you want to listen to his music and learn more about this guy then I don’t know what will. Maybe once you check out his Mix Tape “Blood Money” you will truly understand his talent and his potential as a great upcoming artist. Mikalveli went on to continue on his music path throughout Middle school by playing in the band, again still never learning to read music and only playing by ear. He was so talented he was recruited by the High School band coach. However, Mikalveli turned it down as he was all about girls then and wanted to get into sports. This caused a slight hiatus for Veli Baby from the music game. It took Veli’s uncle to be released from prison to realize his love for music hadn’t fully left. His uncle had a note book with raps he wrote in prison and Veli picked up the notebook, memorized the lyrics and would go to school rapping them. In turn Veli grew a fan base and realized not only could he learn to play instruments by ear but he also had a talent for rapping and started writing his own. In 2012, he met a guy named Major who produced music and started making music in the house with him and it was discovered Mikalveli had a real future in music as a rap artist. When asked who are some of his influences Veli does not hesitate to mention 50 Cent and the G-unit crew, but Veli definitely has a sound and energy of his own. Fast forward to 2019 by now Mikalveli has perfected his craft and has ran into none other than Sir Classic, C.E.O. of Dictator Records. Sir Classic has been in the game since 1997 and has made not only a name for himself but helped in the careers of many upcoming and established Atlanta artist. Sir Classic was promoting music between Atlanta and North Carolina when he saw the need for all the upcoming artist coming from North Carolina to have an outlet, to get their music out so he decided to stay in North Carolina for about a couple of months. While there, Sir Classic did his typical business guru move and created that outlet for the artist in the local area. Sir Classic was at a local gas station promoting his music, when he met Mikalveli and they soon exchanged contact information and later on linked up to work together and that led Veli to sign with Dictator Records. Sir Classic had organized a weekly open mic at a local club and started hosting and DJing at the open mic as a way to scout new artist and for them to have a place to showcase their musical talent. After the weekly open mic had come to an end, Sir Classic started to put his attention towards Veli and rebranding the label in the Carolina market. The one talent who stood out the most over his course of time there was none other than Mikalveli. Sir Classic saw the potential in Veli and decided to sign him to the label because in words, “Mikalveli was not only confident but he was humble.” Sir Classic appreciates artists that are teachable and who like Mikalveli want to learn the music business. Sir Classic sees not only the potential in North Carolina but he sees it in his new protege Mikalveli and both are about to make their mark in a major way. When you see that North Carolina and Mikalveli are both on the map due to Sir Classic’s vision be sure to recognize that the vision was set in motion.

Like a good wine, classic songs sung by a vocalist as good as John Doc can only mature with age. The Doc's career started in the early 60's, becoming the pianist in a live band before branching out with John Healy, where the duo become one of the more prominent acts when Clubland was at it's thriving best. After parting ways with Healy, Doc surrounded himself with great musicians and went off out under his own name, appearing as the resident vocalist at Hasties Farm in Blantyre – a popular entertainment venue which until the early 60’s had been a working farm. After a spell of about six years there, John moved to The Carousel in Motherwell, with the Doc and his trio playing an integral part in the club's success, so much so that John went into partnership with the owner, Gerry Gallen. Throughout his career, John became synonymous with many a venue throughout Scotland, such as Cowie Bowling Club, Cleland Miners, Carfin's Hibernian Club and Wishaw's Little Caesar's to name but a few, becoming an integral part of their respective communities as a result of his residencies.

Search Add 6 Ricky Zaziky + Die Holidays Novelty and parody project by [a=Mathias Bozó], starting in 1993 with the song "Du hast noch Sperma in den Haaren", that in the subsequent years was accomplished with a bunch of similar songs. In order to mark the project as a parody and to separate it from his other projects, the artist created the fictional character [a=Ricky Zaziky]. The early demos were produced and recorded by Mathias Bozó himself in Heidelberg. After sending a demo tape to german TV station VIVA in 1997, the artist appeared on [a=Stefan Raab]'s Vivasion TV show with the Sperma song (and a fake playback band). 1998 four tracks from the repertoire were released on a music cassette (later available as free mp3 download on ponkoff-music.de) with all music played by the artist. 2002 the artist appeared on british Channel 4, once again with the Sperma song. After moving to Lüneburg in 2002, Mathias renewed the concept, the songs and the stage show for his Ricky Zaziky appearances. He formed a live band (The Holidays) and recorded new versions of the old songs and some new novelty songs. In 2008 he published a Promo EP with four songs, followed by a full album, recorded with his band and a couple of guest musicians. Anyway, the concept of the project and the musicians had aged in between, so shortly after the album release Mathias Bozó ended the project, seeing the 2008 album as a gift for all fans who had been waiting for the album for nearly 15 years.

Search Add 6 Plenazo Tribe Started with a young Puerto Rican, Gabriel J Montes from Carolina, Puerto Rico, who grew up with Plena running through his veins. He played in the streets of Poland with Guamanique, to the plazas of Madrid, where Los Pleneros del Exilio kept the rhythm alive, he carried his panderos like sacred relics. When he arrived in California, he found a city full of music, yet empty of the Plena he knew and loved. So, he played. He played at the writers’ and actors’ strike, his panderos echoing like a call to arms. But there weren’t enough hands to answer. That’s when necessity became innovation. Inspired by the legendary [a=Héctor "Tito" Matos], he crafted a bipandero, a new way to play two panderos at once—a symbol of resilience, of keeping the tradition alive no matter the odds. His older brother visited from Texas, and over a meal at a Puerto Rican restaurant, a new door opened. There was no need for a waiter, but there was a need for Plena. The restaurant became a stage. The last Friday of every month became a Plenazo, a gathering, a movement. And from that movement, the Tribe was born. Plenazo Tribe is more than a band—it’s a fusion of cultures, sounds, and dreams. With members from Argentina, Ecuador, Cuba, France, Peru, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia & USA, they blend their histories into something bold and new. Their Plena pulses with the soul of Latin America, the groove of Afro-Caribbean beats, the fire of modern music production.
