Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 6 | Ill Crew Universal | Ill Crew Universal | Ill Crew Universal is a Worldwide Hip-Hop organization and entertainment company dedicated to the preservation, activism, empowerment, balance and unity of Hip-Hop culture expressed in all of its elements. ICU is a service to the Hip-Hop community, whose goal is to educate and network artists, activists, musicians and thinkers so as to enrich the Hip-Hop community by promoting positivity, humility, understanding, resourcefulness, interdependence, consciousness and progressive change in society. Ill Crew Universal (ICU) was the largest Hip-Hop organization in the world, with more than 50,000 members worldwide. ICU gained the respect of the Hip-Hop nation and had both the attention of the mainstream media (MTV, Billboard, Rap Sheet, The Source, Vibe, etc) and many recognized Hip-Hop artists of the time, including Xzibit, Gang Starr, X-Clan, The Alkaholiks, Living Legends, Jurassic 5, Black Eyed Peas, A Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, UMC's, Paris, Hieroglyphics, The Coup, to name a few. ICU began its journey in the Hip-Hop world in 1995. By the summer of 1996, ICU had the leading Hip-Hop website on the Internet and gained worldwide notoriety. In fact, ICU helped to create the emergence of Hip-Hop on the Internet through its members. By the year 1999, ICU had over 50,000 members and had released 7 compilations of ICU artist's material. The growth of ICU exceeded the expectations of ICU leadership. By the forth quarter of 1999, ICU closed its doors to new members. Due to excessively rapid growth and success of ICU, we felt it was in the best interest of the organization, and the public at large, to go on an indefinite hiatus until we could bring forth our vision when the time called for it. That time is now! ICU is announcing our return to the Hip-Hop world. ICU leadership spent the past several years focusing on independent projects, while keeping a low profile in regards to the organization. We have reorganized our effort, added exceptional talent to ICU leadership, and are prepared to take on the Hip-Hop world once again! |

| Search | Add | 6 | Pain Runs Deep | Pain Runs Deep did really start in late 90s, recorded a decent MCD, gigged a bit and went into a long hiatus to be back among the living in 2008. Refreshed, rejuvanted and reinforced they delivered bunch of quality shows, crushing all over the place, getting enormous feedback from the crowd who turned out to be totally new generation of hardcore kids with few of those who stage dove to their songs when they were around for the first time. Show after show, the excitment grew and many kids travelled from all over the country to enjoy their wild stage performance along with the message shouted loud. What seemed to be one time "let's get together and have some fun at shows" type of thing made them go record few new tunes to encapsulate the energy they drawn from the shows and express their current state of mind - musically and lyrically. Heavier than ever, highly structured, yet groovy hard hitting riffs, backed by furious vocals is what they created. What they've loved listening to hardcore for their lives, they simply poured into their music - from Cro-Mags through Burn, Conviction and Leeway to Burn It Down. Lyrically - still critical look at this world we live in, screaming for balance, harmony and reason. Not an average hardcore band that you can safely pigeonhole. Not the book you can judge by its cover or just by flicking through the pages. You need to look carefully at this baby and read between the lines. - Pat B | |

Emerging from the underground scene, Yangın has quickly gained momentum over the past two years, carving out a distinctive space in Turkey’s alternative music landscape. | Search | Add | 6 | Mark "M. E." Edwards | Biography (from his website, 2019) Mark “M.E.” Edwards, the lead guitarist/founding member of OVERLORDE and a solo instrumental guitarist, is a native of Scotch Plains, New Jersey. After a 6 year period living in New York City ending in 2012, Mark returned to central New Jersey. He is a member of ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). Mark is not the first musician in his family. His father’s uncle, Jerry Serly, was an accomplished musician and member of NY Local 802. Jerry held various positions within the union during his lengthy tenure after joining in 1927. Jerry’s wife, Elaine, was also a musician. Jerry's father, Lajos Serly, was a highly esteemed Hungarian composer and conductor. Jerry's brother, Tibor Serly, was an accomplished violinist-violist and music theorist who composed major theatrical pieces. Tibor completed Béla Bartók’s two unfinished works after Bartók’s death. Mark took his first guitar lesson in 1971 when he was ten years old. His teacher was Tom Ragusa at the Scotch Plains Music Center in NJ. Lessons went on until he graduated High School in 1979. During that time he was a member of two rock bands as well as a member of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School jazz band “Moonglowers”, the oldest High School jazz band in the state of New Jersey. While attending Old Dominion University, Mark played in that school’s jazz ensemble. Afterwards, around 1982, Mark was involved in his first metal band. Named PARTHENON, this band did covers by Def Leppard, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Rush, Zeppelin, and even Cheech and Chong. This band was the first to perform Mark’s metal originals, three songs that Mark had written and the band learned. Also, it was about this time when Mark's friends began referring to him by his initials, "M.E.". 1984 saw Mark purchase his trademark white Flying V, and meet John Bunucci. John would not only go on to form OVERLORDE with Mark, but also become a lifelong friend. And in Mark’s opinion, the world’s best power/true/classic metal bassist. Overlorde performed its first show in November 1985 after drummer David L. Wrenn joined the band. The group added vocalist Pat O’Donnell in 1986 and played numerous NJ/NY area shows. The band then recorded and self released a 5-song EP on its own Strike Zone Records label. What was supposed to be a stepping stone to a bigger label deal instead led to the band's eventual demise in late 1988. Or did it? More on that later. M.E. started his first solo project shortly thereafter. Titled BREAKER M.E. (a nickname variation inspired by his affinity for Australian bush hats of the type worn in the movie Breaker Morant), it went from being a solo project to a band and released a self-titled 4-song cassette demo before disbanding in 1992. After this, M.E. became disillusioned with participating in bands and went truly solo. Thus began a period of recording and performing instrumentals in the style of Joe Satriani. Bass and drum parts were provided by a Roland R-70 which he had learned to program to great effect. His Fostex 250 4-track cassette deck saw a great deal of use as he recorded numerous songs beginning in 1992. The first official demo coming from these sessions being a 30-minute cassette titled G.W.A. (GUITAR WITH ATTITUDE). This was followed by a live-to-DAT, in-studio session in 1995 that was released as a 30 minute demo titled WHAT YOU HEAR IS WHAT YOU GET. By this time, Mark was mainly utilizing a Fender Stratocaster in place of his Flying V. The late 90's saw M.E. launch a basic website, and begin utilizing his voice on various recordings including an eclectic 3-song demo titled Demo 1999. He had also moved up from his 4-track multi-track cassette recorder to a digital 16-track Roland VS-1680. But it was December 1999 when everything old became new again, and the call of the Flying V began to harken once more. This is when Overlorde drummer Dave Wrenn contacted M.E. about some interest in Overlorde, mainly from fans in Europe. This news came as quite a surprise, since the 1987 EP had basically only been sold in NJ/NY area shops. It had been assumed that Overlorde was a NJ area metal footnote and nothing more. Upon additional investigating, it became apparent that the 1987 EP had garnered the band a cult following in both the USA and Europe. John, Dave and Mark decided to look into the possibility of a reunion in early 2000. The official website, www.overlorde.com, was launched in February 2000 and the reunion became a reality in July 2000. In the fall of 2000, the band announced that vocalist Bobby "Leather Lungs" Lucas (ex- SEVEN WITCHES/Massacre Records and EXHIBITION/LMP Records) had joined the band to round out the reunion lineup. A 4-song demo, OVERLORDE 2000, was recorded and released in December 2000. The demo received tremendous response from fans and critics alike. This included a “perfect 12” rating from Germany's HEAVY, ODER WAS?! magazine. A few shows were played, including some U.S. metal festivals, where the band shared the stage with acts such as ANVIL, SEVEN WITCHES, and MANILLA ROAD, receiving great audience response. The band seemed sure to obtain a record deal and release its long delayed full length CD. And so it was that in April 2004, the band announced it had signed with Greece’s premier Heavy Metal Label, CULT METAL CLASSICS (now SONIC AGE RECORDS). Recording began in summer 2004 and their 13-song CD titled RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT was released to excellent reviews worldwide on December 17, 2004. Once again their CD received a “perfect 12” rating from Germany's HEAVY, ODER WAS?! magazine. M.E. wrote full music and lyrics for four of the songs on the release and co-wrote the music for all the remaining songs with the exception of the short bass/drum intro AND THE BATTLE BEGINS… M.E. performed his debut European show when Overlorde played at Keep It True IV Metalfest in April 2005 and his performance is documented on the official KIT IV DVD. Overlorde also celebrated its 20th Anniversary year in 2005 with an interview on WDHA’s Metal Mania radio show. In the summer of 2015, Germany's DEAF FOREVER magazine named RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT one of its "Top 100 U.S. Metal Albums of all Time". The band is preparing a followup CD. Having devoted 100% of his music-related efforts to Overlorde from 2000 to 2003, M.E. decided to take some time and make his 1994 demo G.W.A. (GUITAR WITH ATTITUDE) available on CD-R. This demo re-release, with an additional 5 songs, occurred in the fall of 2003 along with the launching of his own www.meflyingv.com website to replace his 90’s designed site. 2003 also saw M.E. start his own ASCAP affiliated music publishing company, ARMORED FORCE PUBLISHING. Besides continuing with Overlorde, Mark also plans to promote his instrumental material for use in movies, TV shows, etc. Some of his works have already appeared in independent releases. He is currently preparing to shop a 9-song instrumental re-release of WHAT YOU HEAR IS WHAT YOU GET that also includes videos from his performances on a local cable show called T-TIME. He is also preparing to make his G.W.A. (GUITAR WITH ATTITUDE) available on i-tunes . And having written or co-written approximately 100 songs over a range of hard & heavy music styles (and even some in a modern country vein), Mark hopes to eventually record and release other material utilizing his home studio, and/or license songs to other recording artists. M.E. performs his instrumental set as a unique “one man show”. Himself on electric guitar accompanied by programmed drums and bass. This allows him to perform in situations where a full band might not fit. M.E. has accumulated a number of endorsement deals and also released presets for Steinberg's Cubase DAW. The presets are for Steinberg's VST AMPRACK plugin.

| Search | Add | 6 | Group Of Individuals | Group of Individuals was an innovative Chicago punk band from 1984 to approximately 1994. The band was well recognized by contemporaries for their tuneful songcraft, unapologetic social and humanitarian stances, and bludgeoning (but highly musical) delivery. Although their live exposure was purely regional, their material was passed liberally around a burgeoning global indie scene. An unsanctioned internet reference refers to them as "melodic anarcho '77 punk rock with a real good singer." Hurricane Party Instead Of A Magazine: All Music Intrendent International Limited Potential Save The Dead Spontaneous Combustion / Immense Decay The Anatomy Of A Revolution The Blind Armadillo War Between The States We Can Change The World We Did It Ourselves Yet Another Compilation History: Group Of Individuals was spearheaded and formed in 1984 by Mike Lazuka with bandmates Mark McClean and Andy Eringis. Lazuka, who had honed his skills bashing out various rock covers in years prior, crafted the new group as a vehicle for his eclectic musical tastes, unrelenting sociopolitical passions, and his ever-evolving original pop-punk canon. Having quickly recorded his first two songs under the new moniker, he spent his high school prom night traveling throughout Chicagoland distributing and promoting the now-infamous debut single "Destroyer Of Fun / The $ellout" to every indie-friendly radio station that would open their door. The brilliant WNUR was among Lazuka's targets that exciting evening. Lazuka was a vehement evangelist of the D-I-Y movement, often generously donating material to anyone supportive enough that would also benefit from a fattened catalog. As the first single picked up steam within his distribution channel, Lazuka began to finalize the first working live band to support his efforts. Although Lazuka performed all the drumming on all studio recordings, Ubaldo Ayala manned the buckets for live shows. Eringis had moved on to other commitments, and so the versatile Joe Garcia joined as permanent bassist. Using brand-spanking new recordings "Being Bored" and "Fashion Fools", the band was selected to appear on the 1985 Certain Death-led compilation Dial-a-Trance. A performance at the compilation's release party cemented a reputation as well as helpful association with pals in the genre. Regional live work began in earnest, as did progress on new songs and new studio demos. Mike's standard stage uniform, consisting of baggy camo and a Buckwheat-adorned t-shirt, was always a highlight. To mark the centennial anniversary of the 1886 Chicago Haymarket Riot, Lazuka wrote, recorded, and released the commemorative 1986 single "World Civil War / Police Beat" on his newly-branded Universal Satirical Association label. During this same period, Eringis temporarily returned on bass to sub for the absent Garcia, and Brian St. Clair (Rights of the Accused, Triple Fast Action, Local H) took over the drum stool for the unavailable Ayala. The related demonstrations and shows were memorable for their sense of community and great music vibe. Toward the late 1980's, the band had amassed enough road-tested original material and studio recordings to begin planning a full-length release. But with factions of the hardcore punk scene quieting somewhat, and faux-metallic AquaNet-drenched shemales sprawled across most music charts, Lazuka blasted his next generational wake-up call to herald the end of the "me" decade with the tuneful "Children Are The Future" (coupled with the spastic "Being Bored") 7" release through Underdog Records. The band's roster continued to evolve; Eringis had subbed for McClean on guitar, John Potwora came aboard as drummer, and Mike Grist took over for Joe Garcia as bassist. From 1987-1990, the Group printed a newsletter and free ad paper, also called Universal Satirical Association, for the independent music scene. There was no charge for either the issues or the ads themselves. The issues were released sporadically and ranged from 10-20 pages each. Distribution was largely through those running ads and at indie-friendly stores and venues. Around this same time, the band formed a relationship with Dan Lavorini's Chicago Music Coalition, whose early Sunday morning WLS-FM radio broadcast showcased Chicagoland indie talent. Through it, Group of Individuals was presented with two important promotional opportunities: a "public" recording session presided over by panelists & indie intelligentsia, and a professionally-shot series of music videos. The music videos were aired on local TV, with "Police Beat" being deemed "offensive" and banned by the television station. At the outset, Lavorini's vision for a more commercially accessible Group of Individuals wasn't shared by Lazuka, nor did it ever truly play out. Indie cred intact, they stuck to their proverbial guns. During the early 1990's, Lazuka finally assembled, tweaked, and mastered all previous Group of Individuals recordings to issue the full-length CD "Peace Off!". By then, most of the band's activity had ceased due to garden-variety adult logistics and lifestyles. And while never having officially "broken up", members have amicably all gone their separate ways. | |

The band formed in Buenos Aires in 1987 from the ashes of less known punk bands such as Licor de Semen with the line up of Johanna (vocals), Jóse Luis (guitar), Oscar (bass) and Mariano (drums). In 1988 they released the Benditos sean muñecos que pegan cassette in a limited edition of 200 copies but seemed to split up and disappear soon afterwards.

| Search | Add | 6 | Martin Kirkegaard | Martin Kirkegaard | Biography Martin Kirkegaard (1976 - ) is a danish contemporary folk musician rooted in the improvisational aspect of the music based on the narrative storytelling. “real music should always have a real story to tell. A story that emanates from the moment of conception” he comments. His melodies and sketches come from the free space between his instrument and himself. Though he comes from a Blues and Jazz background he considered himself a folk musician but draws upon everything he hears. “Don`t box me in” he says. ”The world consists of sounds just waiting to get articulated”. In the light of this his travel to Africa has made a big and lasting impression on him and his way of looking at his instrument. Especially the string instruments of West Africa has inspired his guitarwork quiet a bit. And together with his travel to Scotland and The United States he has gathered a connection (in his mind) between the different folk music of the continents. He believes that every music is connected one way or the other. Of course he has his heroes (Robbie Basho, Ali Farka Toure, Abdullah Ibrahim, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Miles Davis, Ravi Shankar, Albert Ayler ect.) and his favorite patterns and colors but he always try to remodel, disassemble and translate the sounds he hears. On rare occasions he can play a covertune but he prefers to write/create/play everything himself. “It doesn`t fell right to me playing other people`s music. Maybe it is because I know it is not mine. I fell it is some others story that I am telling - it is a kind of an alienation”. Martin also believes in obstructions in music. He considers obstructions as a remedy for creating. And his most significant obstruction must be that he does not work with overdubs. Everything must be played as heard in real time. “That way I can make my music more authentic. I feel that I can be present in the moment on a hole other level. Maybe it is considered “old school” but I like it that way. You know, it is just a man and his instrument – a craftsman in process” he says. For many years he played in the trio DaFuGa that toured around Denmark for almost 8 years. Since then he has worked as a solo guitarist. In this context he has played concerts in Denmark at museums, festivals, small venues ect. The response has been surprising good (considered the somewhat narrow music genre) and his repeating patterns and almost hypnotic way of playing has left a lasting impression on the audience. Tar Gui is his official solo album debut (on vinyl) and consists of 10 pieces for guitar and 2 for banjo. It is an album full of decolorization, beauty spots, open wounds, small animals, love, rashes and other qualities. Here, no robot can hit the real edges of the music. It's music between man and wood. |
