Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Giovanni Francesco Pressenda Giovanni Francesco Pressenda Giovanni Francesco Pressenda (1777—12 Dec 1854), also known as Joannes Franciscus Pressenda, was an Italian luthier, one of the formative figures of the "Turin School" of violin-making. Giovanni grew up in a remote village and spent his early adulthood working on farms. With a natural talent for crafts and wood-carving, Pressenda eventually relocated to a more urban area. In the early/mid-1810s, he pursued luthiery at Nicolas Leté-Pillement's renowned workshop in Turin. An avid French entrepreneur, Lete-Pillement operated his atelier very efficiently, with a sizable staff of specialists, continuous training and workflow procedures, etc. Their instruments represented the "Parisian style," essentially modified Stradivarius, and this influence prevailed in Pressenda's early builds. After Nicolas Leté passed away in 1819, Giovanni F. Pressenda, who was the only Italian on staff, gradually took over the atelier. Around 1832, Pressenda established his independent workshop in Turin. Giovanni Francesco operated it as "manifattura," perhaps inspired by his business-savvy French teachers, and had multiple assistants and apprentices; his best-known student was Giuseppe Rocca. It appears that Pressenda actively spread bogus claims he was Lorenzo Storioni's apprentice in Cremona before relocating to Turin, perhaps to increase his brand's credibility. In later instruments, Pressenda was bolder and more inventive, experimenting and introducing some original solutions. With the iconic scribe line down the center of the scroll and darker-red varnish, Pressenda's violins became a benchmark of "Turin School" for the next few generations of Italian luthiers.

He also managed the music publisher CERIA (Case Editrici Riunite Italia-America) in Naples. As a composer, he wrote dozens of Neapolitan songs, including "L'ultimo Foxtrott" (1924) and "Giovinezza che canta" (1926, with his frequent collaborator [a=Giuseppe Tetamo]).

Search Add 2 Corps Noir Corps Noir is an austrian based band, that evolved from numerous jam sessions and various musicians and dilettantes, using synthesizers and drumcomputers from the 80´s, randomly recording the sessions … until some of the stuff appeared on the internet, and suddenly there was requests to play live gigs, so Charles who does the synths, programming and vocals, Dave who plays guitar and Phil who plays drums/percussion, packed all of these ideas and formed a symbiosis between wave, post punk and surf to some spherical and danceable fun songs.

Search Add 2 Susie Raney Susie Raney was a sassy young high school student when she cut William Bell’s own superb deep wailer "You Hurt So Good", later covered with such distinction by Mitty Collier. Only a few copies of the 45 were ever pressed up and Susie never followed the 45 through with any other sessions. But it remains a cult single – not bad for a disc that was virtually a vanity recording, cut as a favour by Bell at the request of Atlanta’s chief promoter and artist management entrepreneur Henry Wynn. Raney was a friend of Wynn’s daughter and he featured her on one of his Supersonic package tours, but she never made music her career

Search Add 2 Evil Genius Soundsystem The group consists of Henning, Jaystar, Jeejaa and City Lights, four producers who have all made their mark on the Dutch Hip-Hop scene over the past few years. Beatmaker Henning (1987) released his instrumental EP “Dejima” and has worked with Dutch rappers Sticks and Akwasi. Jeejaa (1984) provided the Dutch Hip-Hop group Front Porch Poets, among others, with his warm and soulful sound. Producer Jaystar (1983) released several well-received beattapes, such as “Dust: Instrumentals & Loops Volume 1” in 2008 and “Silverscream Instrumentals” in 2011. The youngest member of Evil Genius Soundsystem, City Lights (1992), released his album “Winter All Year” in the summer of 2011. The four have known each other for years, and share a mutual respect for each other’s music. Therefore, it wasn’t farfetched that the four would join forces to release their first collective album “Volume 1” in 2012, under the moniker of Evil Genius Soundsystem. In 2013 they strike again with their second album “Volume 2”.

Not without reason the word "blues" is present in the name of an album - There is something sad in its songs. Minor key emphasise on the feelings. CD makes the same transparent atmosphere which happens at concerts of bards. It is not casual. Aren't bandura players were the first Ukrainian bards?

With groupmates DiSoul, and Dj Choice, they are pioneers of the hip-hop scene in Quebec. In 1997, they released "La force de comprendre" which sold 150 000 copies and went platinum in Quebec alone. At the local event to recognize achievements in the music industry called "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they were the first local hip-hop group to win trophies. Throughout the years, they won "Group of the Year", "Best Rock Alternative Album" (their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a hip-hop section), and "Best Hip-hop Album" twice. In 1999, they released the self-titled album "Dubmatique", who went gold. In 2001, they separated after their third record "Influences". That year OTMC released the Rap/Rnb compilation "Procès verbal". The song for the single and the video clip is the song is " Zoukin", by Rnb group O.N.E.. The lead singer was a pre-fame Corneille in an early appearance on television and airwaves. In 2006, OTMC released his first solo "Sincérité volontaire", where he takes a melodic musical direction with acoustics instruments. In 2008, a Facebook group with the goal to reunite Dubmatique is created. 50 000 fans joined and it led to the release of their fourth output "Trait d’union". Ever since with his group or solo, OTMC is seen performing, hosting events, directing music videos, and producing music for other artists. In 2019, with Dubmatique, they were the first hip-hop group to win the "Classic song award" at the Socan Gala (an event to celebrate Canadian music that had an important success). Afterward, he launched the music label Yokobok, within that endeavor he produced the album "Business et sentiment 3" by Jeune Rebeu which was released in 2021. Also that year, he was a featured guest on Élage Diouf's release "Wutiko".

Search Add 2 Émile Naud Émile Naud’s amazing musical story begins in the mid-60’s at the St-Pierre Catholic Parish in Shawinigan (Quebec, Canada). Father Émile Naud was in fact a young priest at the parish, and also a musician, flutist and a graduate in Gregorian chant and choir. Along with local friend [a2547800] and a few other musicians, he formed an orchestra/choir and they began performing rhythmic masses in the Shawinigan area. The orchestra enjoyed some local success and they soon landed a short contract with Radio-Canada to become the official musical group for the ‘Lord's Day Masses’ that were presented live on television. These programs were broadcast from the cathedral at Cap-de-la-Madeleine. In 1968, they recorded an obscure rhythmic pop-mass album for [l885311]. By the end of the sixties, Emile Naud decided to pursue his musical career more seriously. He gave up his priesthood, managed to obtain a government grant, and evolved his group into a musical audio-visual project under the name “Champs-Pignons”. Their shows combined music (with rock, psychedelic and progressive tones), and also light effects and slide presentations (à la early Pink Floyd). And so, Les [a3100137] were born, ultimately moving to Laval before recording one of Quebec’s true experimental underground masterpieces, the now highly-coveted [m526892]
