Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | John Bult | John Bult wants to set the record straight. His one and only LP, Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday should have been his calling card to country music stardom. Instead the album has been singled out as the best of the worst – not for Bult’s singing abilities, but for its unfortunate cover art. “It still chaps me real bad,” he said. “The whole thing still makes me mad, even after all of these years.” In 1980, John Bult was playing gigs throughout his native Louisiana, when he met up with Howard Richard, an investor who liked Bult’s sound, and thought the Lake Charles crooner could hit the big time. “We went to Nashville, and had a meeting with Chet Atkins and Ray Stevens,” Bult said. “It was my chance to stick my foot in the door, but I didn’t. I was thinking about all of the things I would have to give up, like family. So I went back to Lake Charles.” Instead of giving up on the dream, Richard convinced Bult to record his music. So he paid for some studio time, and enlisted the help of Teddy Broussard to produce an album. But according to Bult, Broussard wanted a more hands-on involvement in the project—including the art concept of the album cover, and the selections of the songs. Broussard was himself a songwriter who had worked in Nashville, but he never achieved any notable success. With an eager, but admittedly naïve singer, he saw his opportunity to further his own dreams. “I guess the first mistake I made was not signing a contract with him,” Bult admitted. “When I was 19, I was under contract with the Temple Brothers in Fort Worth, with Soundtrack-Chevelle records. They had me record a bunch of crazy songs that weren’t country. They were never released. I didn’t want to sing anything but country, so I talked to an attorney, and he told me if I didn’t like what was going on, to leave, and go about my business. So I decided I would never sign another recording contract again.” Recorded at Master-Trak Sounds (in Crowley, LA), Bult, Broussard, and a half a dozen studio musicians and backing vocalists quickly recorded ten songs for his debut—five written by Broussard, including “Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday.” “Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday” tells the story of Jim, a guy who hangs out in bars, and enjoys a drink, or two, a little more than he should. He tells his friend Lou that he can’t stay at the bar long tonight, because his daughter Julie is turning 16 that very day, and going out on her first date. But Jim loses track of time, (and the number of beers he’s had), and proceeds to get behind the wheel of his car, where he hopes to speed back in time to see Julie off on her big night. As he reaches for a bottle of booze under the seat, he slams into an oncoming car. In the hospital, Jim learns that a young man was injured, and a teenaged girl died. Nobody sees the twist at the end of the song coming. “I said, ‘Lou, should I pass on, before she comes in, be sure and tell Julie how sorry I am for spoiling her birthday.” “He said ‘Jim, save your breath, because when you meet her in heaven, you can tell her yourself.’” After the recording, Broussard decided to title the album after his ode to paternal vehicular manslaughter. Bult says he was never consulted. We took a picture of me and my guitar, which I thought was going to be the cover,” he said. “But Ted met this girl at a restaurant, and asked her parents if he could use their daughter on the front of my album. The cover, shot at Pat O’Carroll’s Restaurant, in Lake Charles, shows Bult, sitting at a table, holding his wedding ring-adorned hand, with Kim Whitehead, a 16-year old, from Lake Charles. A half consumed beer is placed next to an ashtray, on a stained tablecloth. Behind them is a propped-up guitar, next to a piano. What was supposed to look like a living room, in a family home, looked more like a honky-tonk. “During the photo shoot, Ted kept telling her to look serious, like her dad is talking to her,” Bult said. “But she just kept looking sad to me.” When the final album was pressed, and Bult saw the finished product, he was livid. “I told him I didn’t like the look of it, one bit. Instead of looking like a dad and his daughter, it looks like some guy trying to pick up a chick in a bar. Nobody is going to know that is supposed to be Julie. I didn’t like it one bit.” To make matters worse, Bult provided Broussard with a biography for the liner notes, but instead of using the information, Broussard decided to fabricate the singer’s credentials—including a story of discovering Bult in shopping mall lounge. “That isn’t true—not at all. I’ve been performing for years. I played with Roy Head when I was 19 at Randy’s Rodeo, in San Antonio, and been on the Louisiana Hayride, before I even met Ted Broussard." An estimated 250 copies were pressed (DSR 4981), and Bult went on performing, almost forgetting about his debut recording. Then came the Internet. Sometime around 2003, a blogger stumbled upon the record, and dubbed it the worst album cover…ever. The trend to vilify the front cover art of LPs took off, with books by Nick DiFonzo (Worst Albums Cover Ever and Seriously Bad Album Covers) and websites Bizarre Records, LP Cover Lover, and Cover Browser, ranking Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday, and its questionable photograph, at the top of almost every “worst” list. The unique adulation for his 1980 album caught Bult completely off guard. “My sister-in-law was in Washington D.C., and she called me, and told me look it up, I couldn’t believe it.” On May 17, 2011, Ellen DeGeneres spotlighted the record on the Bad Album Covers segment of her daytime show. “When I saw that, I got chapped all over again. I e-mailed her, or whoever her handlers are, and I explained it all to them. I didn’t hear back from anyone.” Unbeknownst to Bult, in 1985, Ted Broussard re-released the album (Ra Chelle 12483 – minus the fabricated liner notes), and released a single of “Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday.” “I asked a couple of attorneys and a judge about him re-releasing the album like that, and not giving me any money. They asked if he made millions of dollars on it. I said he didn’t, and that was pretty much the end of that.” The scarcity of the album, coupled with the notoriety, has made Julie’s Sixteenth Birthday a “holy grail” addition for those who collect maligned album covers - with collectors paying upwards of $100 for sealed copies. John Bult now lives in southeastern Louisiana, where he is semi-retired from performing. In 2007 he recorded a CD, but never released it. “It was some old favorites, in different styles, like country and jazz. I was going to do an on-line thing, but I just didn’t get around to it.” Ted Broussard got out of the music business, and opened up a Mexican food restaurant. Bult says he rarely sees him, but when their paths cross he manages a dig, or two, about the album art. “If that were my daughter, I wouldn’t have let her on the cover.” Attempts to locate Kim Whitehead were unsuccessful. | |

The group was formed at Grambling State University and began it's now formation when K-bonswae and Edifice started making tracks there.Edifice, who previously had a group with E-40 and B-legit, was making demo tracks that inspired the likes of Erykah Badu, began putting together beats for "K", who was developing her ill rhyme technique, they blended on a musical level and felt they should continue working together. After returning to Oakland they began working on a demo tape when they hooked back up with kalif Mazik,an old school friend who Edifice actually first rhymed with. Mazik (Mazi-Maz) was already in the mix after dropping his solo debut,"it can only get better", on his own Ghetto Swing label. He was looking for some production and in the process they decided to collaborate as a crew. So they began putting it down in a 4-track studio and recorded the in house underground classic "Criticall Mass" and tore a deeper groove in the Bay Area underground hip hop scene with an ill dose of avante garde funk beats and cutting edge lyrics.Their 2nd release E.14th St. International BLVD. e.p. added on to the repertoire with more creativity and is still a well sought after gem. After being on the d.l. for a moment they have re-emerged for there 3rd release.E.14th St. International BLVD. The Runn Down! and is claimed to be anticipated by underground heads, nation and even world wide. Employing classic hip hop tools of the trade, the sound they produce consist of the elements of true hip- hop; gritty arcane samples flipped into ill sounds, scratches, drums and rolling baselines, topped withever increasing lyrical gymnastics with uplifting overtones, social commentary and game that is no -less than 2000% real. On the real this is definitely the connection the world has awaited. A new tru breeze of life in the hip hop Arena, underground mavericks of the Y2K. Peace Greetings and Welcome to Soulfuric Nation!

With their love of travel, music, good friends & fine wine, they have gained a reputation for their passion-filled live shows and heartfelt folk tunes. Their energetic music stems from their upbringing in the folk and roots music scenes in small towns and folk clubs throughout New Zealand. Christian, a hairy folk singer, met Joyce, the not so hairy pianist, at a campfire jam on a remote beach in their home country, New Zealand. They clicked instantly. Since that fate-filled night, they have been playing their passion-filled songs on the road throughout the world. For the past few years Joyce and Christian have been based in Hong Kong touring constantly.

| Search | Add | 4 | Trespassenger | Trespassenger introduces a fresh-sounding dynamic metal music, which is a combination of metal genre cross-section and various elements from other genres. This creates a unique style of music, which Trespassenger is known for. Trespassenger started as a hobby of five childhood friends, which has evolved to a musical act that shakes underground metal scene all over Finland. For over a decade these same guys have managed to keep their friendship warm and stable, which makes the band year after year stronger than ever. As youngsters, Trespassenger managed to win some large field band competitions in Finland such as Nuori Kulttuuri –music contest and survived to finals of honoured Ääni ja Vimma –music contest year 2007. Guys found it out pretty soon that they have potential which should not be wasted. Hard work made profit. So far, Trespassenger has been supporting several Finnish frontline metal acts on their gigs, such as Mokoma, Diablo and Insomnium to mention but a few. Trespassenger has made several dozen of gigs, including some big venues such as Nummirock 2010, which has made Trespassenger also a strong live act. During the past decade, Trespassenger has also been active in studio publishing several promo records publishing them in various formats for people to hear. And yet more is coming…stay tuned! | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Beverley (Levien) McShanag | Beverley Erica Levien | Born 4/11/1936 Death 17/5/2022 1941: The family moved to Maldon where Bev started school. Bev had the only bike in Maldon at the time and would ride to school every day, singing and yodelling all the way. 1946: Eventually the neighbours told her mother that Bev was a good singer – as she never sang at home. Her mother bought her a lap steel guitar and arranged lessons with a local man. After a few lessons, Bev was outplaying her teacher – and she was away! 1947: At the age of 11, Bev entered and won Dick Fair’s Australia’s Amateur Hour on 3DB singing My Pinto Pony And I, scoring the most votes ever recorded on the show. After this she received many offers, including a month’s residency at the Theatre Royal, Hobart with Graeme Bell’s Jazz Band and Willie Fennell, where she was billed as Australia’s youngest female yodelling star. She won many talent quests in Victoria and had a cabinet full of trophies. 1950: She went to Melbourne and stayed with an aunty, who would take her around to various shows. She appeared on Channel 7 in Melbourne as support act to the Dave Clark Five. She and her friend Olive Bice were regulars on Dick Cranbourne’s Hillbilly Show, which was on every Sunday at 8am. Every year the Victorian Banjo Club held a Hillbilly Ball at the Melbourne Town Hall, where Bev always appeared. 1954: At 18, Bev went to Sydney and did the rounds of the shows, including the McKean Sisters’ Harmony Trail show and the Reg Lindsay Show, then toured Victoria with a travelling rodeo show. 1955: Bev was a grand finalist in Swallows Parade, a 3KZ talent quest, which was open to both amateur and professional performers, and was runner-up. She played at numerous functions, particularly around the Bendigo district where she was living. Bev then made several 78rpm recordings, including Fool Such As I while still in her teens. 1958-60s: She married Alf Roberts, who was a friend of Buddy Williams. Buddy asked Bev and Alf to tour Australia with his show, which they did in a small caravan. Crossing the Nullarbor Bev wasn’t feeling well and had begun putting on weight. Realising she was pregnant, she and Alf left the tour and returned to Maldon, where they had a poultry farm. Their daughter Lynette was born in Maldon, followed by a son, Kelvin and another daughter, Barbara. The children were only young when their father developed throat cancer and died. Bev moved to Bendigo where she worked with the police department trying to support her three children. 1970s: She met Graeme McShanag, who worked for Power & Water. He applied for a job in Darwin and got it, so they moved up north and began a new life there. 1973: She and Graeme were married in Darwin and they had another son, Mark. 1983: Bev resumed her singing career with an appearance on a local program, 1330, hosted by Mike Foley on Darwin’s NTD8. To this day, she and Mike have remained firm friends, with him playing bass in her trio, which is still active in Darwin. She appeared on numerous shows and would do guest spots on travelling shows, with artists such as Buddy Williams and Barry Thornton, whenever they were in town. She would travel to the Tamworth CM Festival and appear on shows at Southgate Shopping Centre and Oxley Bowling Club, with Desree-Ilona Crawford and Olive. She was also a popular guest on the Buttercup Open House concerts. 1985: In March, Bev was offered a recording contract with R&H Studios in Geelong, Victoria to record on the Morning Mist label, which featured harmony yodelling with Olive Bice – Yodelling In Harmony. At the same time Bev put down tracks for her first solo album, Yodelling Country Girl. The Harmony Yodelling release was in the year’s top 10 best sellers. She had a track, Daddy Was a Yodelling Cowboy, included on the compilation CD, Yodellers From Down Under. She also had a track, My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You included on Hot Top Country in the NT. Bev recorded I Wouldn’t Change You If I Could, featuring her two daughters, Lyn and Barbara. Her grandson Billy was also featured. 1991: Inducted into Rocky Page’s Hall of Fame and Avenue of Honour in Barmera, SA. 1993: Inducted into the Hands of Fame, Tamworth. 2002: Bev was named The NT’s Senior On The Go. 2017-19: Mike Foley wrote the story of Bev’s life, Presenting Beverley McShanag. 2021: Still performs locally in Darwin for special events with her long-time bass player, Mike Foley. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Geza Foldvary | Geza Foldvary | Geza Foldvary, born in Budapest, trained as a pianist in Paris. Early in his career, his attention turned to electronic music, and leaving the piano aside, he dedicated himself to research in this field. His experiences in this field resulted in the design of a super-organ, which he later built himself, with the help of his father, aiming to exclusively own a unique instrument. The super-organ's originality lies in the fact that it is the only one that perfectly imitates 15 of the most famous instruments, producing a colorful range of sounds from violin to drums. The success achieved with his performances on this instrument earned Professor Geza international fame. After traveling to twelve countries, he decided to settle in Brazil, becoming a Brazilian citizen. What best demonstrates his artistic value is the fact that he was chosen by the government to grace with his music the great official receptions offered to illustrious visitors, such as Prince Akihito of Japan, King Olav of Norway, Queen Elizabeth of England and President Américo Thomaz of Portugal. |
