Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Blind Identity Blind Identity was a cutting-edge band rising from the depths of the Rochester N.Y. music scene. The band's unique style can be attributed to it's many musical influences including jazz, hardcore and modern progressive. Given all the monotony and lack of originality in music in recent years, Blind Identity offers a different spin to the heavier music genre. With gut-wrenching guitars, percussive bass lines, tight refined drums and emotional lyrics that make you think, Blind Identity has a lot to offer for this genre. Putting aside the shallow and superficial currents of popular music, Blind Identity provides more thought-provoking lyrics and song structures to give listeners a more dynamic view of the music.

In 2005 he discovered digital music production by chance and soon came up with the idea of combining it with his love of poetry. This created a means for kruse h to discover, understand and process one's own feelings and those of others. In terms of content, he is often devoted to the uncomfortable, controversial, frightening, painful - but not in order to persist, but to take away the horror of the negative side of life.

Search Add 3 As The Palaces Burn As The Palaces Burn Brazilian heavy metal band "As The Palaces Burn" is known for its well-balanced mix of aggression and technique, with influences ranging from traditional Heavy Metal to Thrash Metal, also with hints of Progressive and Modern Metal. Founded in 2018, the band released their debut album "End'evour" in 2019, followed by the release of the EP "All the Evil" in 2020, which included a tribute to Savatage, covering the song "Hall of the Mountain King”; this period was marked by the beginning of the recognition of the specialized media, leading As The Palaces Burn to be nominated for Roadie Crew magazine's Best of the Year awards in 2019 and 2020. The single "For the Weak" was released in 2021 and had a lyric video published exclusively by the Brazilian magazine Roadie Crew. This song dictates the pace of what would come for the next full-length album. In the meantime, the EP "Offer To The Gods" was released (2022), paying tribute to three most famous Brazilian metal bands: Angra (with “Streets Of Tomorrow”), DR. SIN (with “Fire”), and Sepultura (with “Mass Hypnosis”). After the great reception of "For The Weak", the new single "Into Emotions" was released, accompanied by an impressive video clip, being the foreshadowing of the release of the full album 'Drowning Into Shadows', produced by Adair Daufembach, which will be released in autumn 2023. All the music are available on all digital platforms.

Search Add 3 Carnival Crash Carnival Crash was a relatively short-lived band whose members scattered into a veritable Who’s Who of New York post-punk bands: Swans, Live Skull, Ritual Tension, Chavez and others. Their legacy of recordings, compiled on “It Is A Happy Man” (Obelisk Records), stands the test of time. Born out of the late-'70s punk scene, the band emerged during the vibrant early-'80s New York City post-punk movement. John Griffin brought the Brooklyn streets, heavily steeped in doo-wop and rock’n’roll but with Captain Beefheart and Rimbaud in the mix. Norman Westberg came from Detroit, and brought that sensibility and an eagerness to plunge in. Ivan Nahem was the drummer in late-70s San Francisco punk band The Situations. All the players had been on board with the first wave of punk, but were now searching beyond that for something different in New York City, which, by 1980, was turning in a new direction. Without trying too hard to be earnest, and not lacking a sense of humor, the newly formed band had a certain darkness and intensity that fit the member’s new geography perfectly. Carnival Crash’s music isn’t anti-rock or Noise; there is melody and dramatic dynamics in the instruments and voices. Important influences, besides Beefheart, were Alice Cooper, Joy Division, The Birthday Party, Wire, Bush Tetras and The Contortions. The seeds of Carnival Crash were planted on the west coast. Ivan and his brother Andrew Nahem, along with Tom Paine and Mark C., had formed the band Crop while in California. Ivan, Tom and Mark then migrated to New York City in 1980, and soon began auditioning guitar players. But there were disagreements over direction, and Ivan eventually left the band, which later became Live Skull. He went on to form Carnival Crash with John Griffin, and recruited guitarist Norman Westberg, whom he had met at a Crop audition. With Norman in the band, they began gigging as a trio around their East Village home base. They performed at loft parties and the seminal noise rock/second generation punk venue A7, as well as more established and now legendary clubs, like CBGBs and Tramps. John and Ivan were both writing lyrics and singing, but were looking actively for a lead singer. When auditions didn’t turn up anyone, Ivan got up from behind the drums and became the band’s front man. Future Live Skull alumnus James Lo was brought in to take his place. In the short history of the band, there were two recording sessions. Still in trio formation, the first was in 1981 at George Kaufman’s loft rehearsal studio, employing his TEAC 4-track recorder. Ivan and John shared vocal duties. In 1982, when the band was a four piece, they went into Noise NY to record more tracks. Unfortunately, during these sessions the band split up. Ivan decided to release two of the tracks as a single (Edge of Night b/w Tell Tale Heart), which was critically lauded at the time. He used the moniker Ivan X. Norman Westberg went on to join Swans, which would become his home for many decades. These days he’s performing and recording solo. His work has been well-received and has a strong following. Ivan and his brother Andrew (who, incidentally, are the sons of major league baseball pitcher Sam Nahem) formed Ritual Tension with Michael Shockley and Marc Sloan. They persisted through the Eighties and into the early 1990s, releasing four records: I Live Here LP / Hotel California EP (Sacrifice/ILA), Blood of the Kid (CBGB/Celluloid), and Expelled (Safe House). Ritual Tension has recently re-formed. They are playing out and just recorded a new album at Mark C’s Deepsea Studio in Hoboken. The new album, called “It’s Just The Apocalypse, It’s Not The End”, will be released this Fall on Arguably Records. John Griffin continued producing work as a painter and musician; his most recent efforts can be accessed here: https://thegriffinmorrisseycatastrophe.bandcamp.com/track/crow . His goat Moondog was chosen as 2018’s WFMU mascot. Besides Live Skull, James Lo has played in the acclaimed band Chavez.

When he was in pubic school, the music director guided Longdo through music and singing lessons. “He told me while some are gifted in paint or art, I was gifted in voice. He took a great interest in me and my life started before I knew it. I was on stage more as a child than I was the first 10 years of my career. They pushed me and I loved it.” At 18, he started playing piano and discovered opera. “That’s when I took a serious interest in my own voice and music and took lessons through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.”

In December 1972, Carole Miville was introduced to them and "it clicked right away". A few days later, it is Richard Fortin who "embarks". After fierce rehearsals, they gave their first show in January 1973.

Search Add 3 Sunny Spencer Robert “Sunny” Spencer, a 22-year member of the Sons of the Pioneers, the legendary western music group launched by Roy Rogers in the 1930s, has died. He was 75. Spencer, who lived near Branson, Mo., died Feb. 5 of respiratory failure in a hospital in Tucson, Ariz., where the group was performing, his family said. A singer and self-taught musician who played 22 instruments, Spencer used seven of them – guitar, saxophone, banjo, trumpet, fiddle, clarinet and jug – on his trademark song “Mamma Don’t Allow No Music Playin’ Round Here.” “He was such a consummate part of the group,” Roy “Dusty” Rogers Jr., son of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, told the Los Angeles Times on Friday. “There wasn’t an instrument he couldn’t play; he was just an amazing musician.” Like former Sons of the Pioneer member Pat Brady, Rogers said, “Sunny was the comedy side of the Pioneers, and there is going to be a huge void for them for a while.” Rogers, who has his own group in Branson but frequently sang with the Sons of the Pioneers, added: “I don’t know anybody who didn’t like Sunny. My mom, Dale, just really loved him; he always kept her laughing.” Roy Rogers was still known as Leonard Slye when he, Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer (no relation to “Sunny” Spencer) formed a western specialty act called the Pioneer Trio in 1933 in Los Angeles. A year later, after adding another member and being told by a KFWB radio announcer that they were too young to be “pioneers,” they became the Sons of the Pioneers. Rogers left the group, which gained national recognition with hits such as “Cool Water” and “Tumbling Tumbleweeds,” when he signed with Republic Studios in 1937. Over the years, the Sons of the Pioneers have had 26 members, including Ken Curtis, and a couple of alternates, including Wesley Tuttle and Doyle O’Dell.
