Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 OPTMS Beatmaker with a deep passion for banging drums, groan synths, and raffish samples. Originally a Drummer and Turntablist since the late 90s, Optms blends his love for the unconventional sound without any genre boundaries. Born in mid 80s Yugoslavia and growing up in Bremen (Germany), Optms began playing drums at a young age. Making his first attempts on DAW in the late 90s and mind blown by the sounds of scratching, he discovered turntablism. 5 years of bedroom deejaying, making a few mixtapes under different monikers and experiencing first club gigs, it was in 2004, where Optms entered his first DJ-Competition, organized by Pro-Zeiko in Berlin. Later that Year, he took the opportunity to participate at the I.T.F. DJ-Battle. Stats: 2004: Kurt Lade Klub DJ-Battle Berlin / 3rd place. 2004: I.T.F. Hamburg Heats / 4th place. 2004: I.T.F. German Finals Scratch Category / 6th place. 2005: I.T.F. Hanover Heats / 3rd place. 2009: Wizard of Ahh #3 / 3rd place. 2010: Red Bull "Hit the Wax" / 2nd place. While still producing music beside his DJ stuff, it was at that time in 2010 to release his first EP "Blanes Beach Memoirs". In 2011, french label Vaatican Records (i.a. 1000names, Vlooper) re-released his "Electro-Cution EP", followed by the "Digital Cocadisco EP", released by italian label Pitjamajusto (i.a. Digi). Optms moved to Munich and came in touch with Jay Scarlett, DJ Explizit, Sepalot, Kuchen George, Deckpackers (Aspect, Snatchatec) & Highenders (Len Beam, Sixkay) which brought huge support on his live gigs, radio plays, etc. Optms released more music via miscellaneous labels such as Munich based Gold Diggers Records, by Felix Kirner (Pho Queue), Fwonk* (UK) & Subwise (Russia, i.a. 813) Over the years Optms supported the likes of Kaytranada, Afu-Ra, Rah Digga, Johnsen and shared stages with Homeboy Sandman, Scntst, Alec Empire, Erobique, Blade (Marc B. & Blade), Pfel (C2C), Fatoni, Hgich.T, Roger Rekless, The Analog Roland Orchestra, Danny Scrilla, Krts, Taprik Sweeze, Comfort Fit, Marc Hype, Kid Fresh, Rafik, Rasgunyado, B-Ju, Unkut, AKD, EVL NDL and many more.

Search Add 5 Lost Lakes Madison, Wisconsin Lost Lakes is a collaboration between Corey Mathew Hart and Paul Mitch. The two met during a songwriting competition held by a local radio station. It wasn't until they returned for a duets portion of the follow year's competition that Corey saw Paul play bass and singing harmonies. The first time Corey and Paul played together, they clicked musically and personally. The collaboration has grown over the years, developing into a strong songwriting and production team with a focus on well-crafted tunes and tight vocal harmonies. Lost Lakes' self-titled debut record bears witness to their talents and the fact the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. Recorded over a 9 month period, the recording process was a labor of love. Paul and Corey produced the record and enlisted percussionist Shane Leonard (Field Report, The Stray Birds) along with longtime bandmate Rusty Lee on keyboards to fill out the sound. The project was recorded in a shared warehouse space called the Dojo. Many of the basic tracks were recorded live in 2 separate sessions with overdubs done in small Thursday night sessions. Being fairly porous to the outside elements, the temperature in the Dojo ranged from 41 degrees to well over 100 over the course of the project, adding a sense of adventure to the sessions. Being able to take their time for this project gave Corey and Paul a lot of freedom to try different sounds and arrangements for songs they have been playing live for a couple of years. With no pressure, no deadline, and a giant warehouse space filled with eclectic gear, the two managed to create a record of the highest quality. When it came time to mix the album, Corey and Paul called on an old acquaintance, Grammy award winning engineer Justin Guip. The two had met Guip years ago when they opened for The Amy Helm (daughter of Levon Helm) at a Barn show in Spring Green, WI. Guip also happened to have just finished a record with the Stray Birds that Shane Leonard played percussion on. The past and present collided, and the timing couldn't have been better. Corey and Paul approached Guip about mixing the record and he was very excited about the songs and tracks that were laid down at the Dojo. Guip's aesthetic greatly aligned with the vision that Paul and Corey had for the record, and the result is a compelling masterpiece.

Search Add 5 Houston! HOUSTON! formed in 2006 as a hard rock act formed by four young musicians coming from different styles and stories, Niko, Gaby, Phil and Dave, respectively vocals, bass, guitar and drum. In the first year they recorded a demo called “Never alcoholized” and they started building themselves a name around the live scene in Piacenza, Italy After a few months, the band enters the studio to record the first album “Fast in elegance” which opens the doors to the international collaboration with the US based label Sliptrick Records. We are in february 2008. In april HOUSTON! is the opening act for the Vengeance, a famous Dutch band, and due to an extraordinary live performance, demonstrating once again their natural feel for the stage, they get in touch with Erik Prins, manager of Mam Agency, starting a new collaboration. In october, following a series of gigs in the north of Italy, the band heads for the Netherlands and Belgium for its first european tour which rises a lot of attention and reaches new fans. Back in Italy HOUSTON! start working on the tracks for the new album “Mechanical sunshine”. When the new drummer Giovanni “Nello” Savinelli joins the band the music becomes more articulate and complex, the vocals become more aggressive making the perfect pair with the blistering guitar riffs. At the end of april 2009 the band is once again on tour across Europe raising positive reactions and expanding the number of band’s fans. Most of the gigs are sold out! After the tour the band signs with Tanzan Music for the release of the long awaited second album “Mechanical sunshine” which will be available in summer 2011.

Search Add 5 Marios Joannou Elia Marios Joannou Elia Composer and artistic director of Cypriot origin, born 19 June 1978. Elia first studied composition with Adriana Hölszky at the Salzburg Mozarteum and with Klaus Huber at the University of Music in Basel. He then studied musicology at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2004, inspired by the Aristotelian polyaesthetic conception, he developed the concept of 'Polymediality'. He was awarded a PhD from the University of Southampton in 2010, supervised by the British composer Michael Finnissy. Elia’s international breakthrough came in 2011, with the première at Mannheim's Central Square of the one-hour multimedia symphony Autosymphonic, performed by the spectacular combined forces of the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg, the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, Stuttgart State Opera Children’s Chorus, 80 automobiles of all types and eras ‘played’ by 120 young musicians, Xavier Naidoo and Söhne Mannheims! According to a study by the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, Autosymphonic achieved a TV/media audience of nearly two billion. Since then, Elia has been widely accepted as an innovative mastermind of contemporary culture and has attracted the attention of the mass media. The Südwest Presse wrote: ‘Monumentalist: Elia is considered in the music world to be the man for monumental events’, while The New York Times, Deutsche Welle, Reuters and ARD – among others – have also praised his work. Even before this, his compositions had been regularly performed throughout Europe, Asia and America – his 80-minute opera Die Jagd (2008), for example, was praised for its ‘idiosyncratic sound worlds’ (Die Welt). Elia’s oeuvre of more than 70 pieces to date is multifaceted not only for the diversity of its stylistic musical genres but also for the variety of its intended performance venues. It includes works for opera houses and concert halls – for example, the Berlin Philharmonie and the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall, and the state opera houses of Hannover, Stuttgart and Skopje, as well as unusual venues, such as Salzburg Airport and Mirabell Gardens, the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen in Dresden and the eight-storey building of the Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony. Renowned orchestras, ensembles and soloists, such as the Sinfonietta of the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Recherche, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble and the Austrian Ensemble for New Music have performed his works. Elia has been awarded prestigious international prizes, including the Lutoslawski and the Serocki Awards in Warsaw (2004 and 2008), the Edison Denisov Prize in Moscow (2007), the Luciano Berio Prize in New York (2010), the BMW Prize in Munich (2005) and the Gold Apple of FAMAB for Germany’s best innovative public event (2012). Besides his activity as a composer, Elia has worked as the artistic director of large-scale projects and innovative polymedia events, including the European Capital of Culture initiative (2013–15), the Highlight Celebrations for the Invention of the Car (2009–12), described by The Huffington Post as ‘one of the world’s more remarkable symphony concerts’, and the Tallest Church in the World (2013–15).

Search Add 5 Happy Tony Anthony Frank Karvaski Happy Tony (AKA Wesoły Antek), whose real name was Anthony Frank Karvaski, first gained fame for his unbridled vocals for Stanky and his Pennsylvania Coal Miners, before performing and recording with his own Coal Diggers, whose core membership also included Mike Yalch (saxophone), Al Walker (bass), and Richie Yalch (accordion). The son of an actual coal miner, Tony was born in Nanticoke, PA, in 1929, and ran away from home at the age of nine. He was judged “incorrigible” and sentenced to “Kis-Lyn,” the Luzerne County Industrial School for Boys. In 1950 he was sentenced to prison for two counts each of armed robbery and auto theft. In 1960, Tony was convicted of the armed robbery of the Polish-American Club in Nanticoke. Upon release in 1962, Tony underwent an unsuccessful corneal transplant operation (there are reports of a prior boxing career as “Tony Kaye”). At the eye hospital, Tony met his future wife, Mary Carfago, who’d had the same operation. In 1965, Tony was treated for a cataract in his other eye, but sadly, was now legally blind. Tony had studied Polish in prison (his father had emigrated from Poland) and sang in Polish with Stanky’s band and then his own, making several LP recordings in the late 1960s. While continuing his music career, Tony enrolled in college, beginning at Luzerne County Community College, then transferring to Kings College, and earning a BA in Sociology in 1972, the year after his wife had passed away. Leaving the music profession behind, he became the Coordinator of the Work Release Program of the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, a position he held from 1973 until 1987. Tony said that he wanted "to show people that when a man goes to prison for a little while, he doesn't come out a three-headed monster, but as a human being who can become a productive member of society. I want the public to get rid of that negative attitude that once a man commits a crime, he can’t get back into society.” (In 1976, Tony received an official pardon from the State of Pennsylvania.) Tony then moved to Florida where he became Corrections Case Manager of the Orange County Community Treatment Center. Anthony F. Karvaski (Happy Tony/Wesoły Antek) passed away in Winter Park, FL, on May 12, 1991, and was entombed in the same cemetery as his parents in Pennsylvania.

Search Add 5 Andras Fixler Andras Fixler Retro-pop & HI-NRG entertainer, born in Budapest, Hungary. Since his childhood Andras Fixler has always been attracted to performing arts, music and shows and has always been full of creativity, ideas and plans. Andras had been creating revue shows based on World-famous pop hits. He put his ideas into staging, including sets, costumes, lighting and worked together with music arrangers and choreographers. These shows were presented on various events, parties as well as countrywide tours. In most cases Andras was also on stage in these shows, performing as the main character: “The Showman”, singing and dancing throughout, backed up with the ensemble and actually hosting the events whenever it was required. After being on the road with the revue shows for a while it was time to move on. Andras was suggested to record the music they had been performing on stage. He decided to release an album – which was titled “It’s Showtime!” – still somehow connected to the past years, but this time without the ensemble, rather as a solo entertainer: Andras Fixler. Following “It’s Showtime!” Andras has been producing and releasing music in both physical and digital format and since pop music comes along with videos, he has also started making these with his creative team. The CD, EP and other music releases had to be presented live to the audience, so Andras has been back on stage (where –according to him– he belongs to the most) as a performing artist. “I enjoy working in all aspects of show-business. I love to perform and be surrounded by talented people. But most of all -on stage or backstage- I have been passionately fond of creating entertainment for the audience.” (Andras Fixler)

They are enjoying a self-sustaining life style with organic farming at their permaculture homestead with a passive solar house on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Mr. Ikemiya’s teacher was the late Frank Glazer, who he considers to be the most life changing influence on his piano playing. Ragtime Audiences’ enthusiasm for his ragtime performances, led Ikemiya to found the New York Ragtime Orchestra in 1995. Ikemiya is credited with introducing ragtime to Japan, and tours the country with his orchestra regularly, recently performing at the Osaka Dome for 47,000 people. He is frequently invited to perform at various ragtime festivals include the Scott Joplin Festival (Sedalia, Missouri) and has recorded seven ragtime albums including “Ragtime Classics”. Artistic Director During his 24 years as Artistic Director of the Arcady Music Festival (which he founded in 1980), Ikemiya had to opportunity to bring artists of incredible diversity and talent from around the world to the scenic coastal towns of Northern Maine. In 1990 he brought the St. Petersburg Boys choir to the festival to perform with a local children's choir which formed powerful bonds in the wake of the Cold War. His work for Arcady was featured on CBS Sunday Morning and he received an award from the Maine State Senate for his “contribution to the cultural life of the state.” Peace Activist In recognition of the peacemaking quality of his work, Ikemiya has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards.
