Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Le Feeling | Le Feeling | Le Feeling composes and performs live soundtracks to radical, often censored, queer films. The “band” is comprised of Thomas John Roach, Jr. and Daniel Paul Boucher. Tom spent many years playing bass for Minneapolis-based band Lifter Puller and regularly collaborates with Wolfgang Tillman’s band Fragile. Dan spent an almost decade playing drums and various other instruments for Boston-based sculpture/rock/experimental performance art collective Neptune. Le Feeling sounds nothing like any combination of any of those aforementioned bands. Drawing inspiration from the films, writings and cultural contributions of Jean Genet, Chantal Ackerman, Derek Jarman, David Wojnarowicz, Kenneth Anger and Guy Maddin (amongst others), the musical arc bends closer to the light of ethereal, industrial, new wave, non-wave, possibly pretty, inexpensive jazz, psychedelic anti-music and danceable if you’re terrible at math. Dan and Tom met at Jacques Cabaret in Boston in 2003. Soon after that chance meeting, Dan found himself stranded in Paris due to a canceled tour with his former band. Tom, who was living in Paris at that time, invited Dan to sleep on the couch for the remaining month. During that month, the two spent an absurd amount of time at the most tragic, most amazing, yet cheapest gay bar within walking distance. The bar was called Le Feeling. |

Search | Add | 5 | Satin Gum | Satin Gum is an American power pop/alternative rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania consisting of songwriter Brian Spekis (Vocals, Guitar), Jonathan Gunnell (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Travis Craig (Bass), and Dan Vavro (Drums, Backing Vocals). The band, originally a trio consisting of Spekis, Craig, and Vavro, formed in the spring of 2008 and quickly released their debut, ‘EP’, on June 17, 2008. ‘EP’ was completed in do-it-yourself fashion with the members tackling all duties themselves (writing, recording, releasing, and distributing), their only background education coming from the school of trial-and-error. In the spring of 2009, Satin Gum added a fourth member, Jonathan Gunnell, on guitar and keyboards. Gunnell was a longtime friend of the band and had attended many of their early shows. He was somewhat reluctant to join at first due to an already busy work/school schedule, but he was bribed by The Gum with external hard drives, a troll doll collection, and unlimited cold beers. Satin Gum digitally released their first full-length album, ‘LP’, on August 27, 2009. A CD release followed in September. This effort was recorded & engineered by lead Gum dude Spekis with Gunnell handling mixing & mastering. On July 22, 2010, Satin Gum released ‘EP2′ which was regarded as the “most underrated local release of the year” by Andy Mulkerin of Pittsburgh’s City Paper. This was the first Satin Gum release where the mastering job was assigned to someone outside of the band, one Garrett Haines (of TreeLady Studios) who declared, “This album screams “HIT ME HARD!” Satin Gum’s latest effort, ‘EP3′, was released on September 20, 2011. Since their inception, Satin Gum has shared the stage with prominent musical artists such as Jesse Malin, Frightened Rabbit, Smith Westerns, We Are Scientists, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Cymbals Eat Guitars, and French Kicks. The Gum’s songs have been placed in major television shows such as The Good Wife on CBS. No strangers to a delectable chow, the band members are often seen in their downtime enjoying a sandwich known as the “Leroy Brown”, a half-pound of Angus topped off with homemade BBQ sauce, sugar-glazed peppercorn bacon, and cheddar cheese.

Alan was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland in the sixties, trained as an engineer and started work in project management in the energy industry in the seventies. Working in this industry has meant that alan and his family have had to travel the world and live in many locations. Home is now perth, Western Australia, but he lives and works in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His photography is taken to another level and becomes more artwork than simple image capture. Alan describes it as trying to recreate what he actually sees in his mind when taking the photograph. Always a lover of digital art and image manipulation. Alan comes from a expressive, diverse and esoteric background of music, photography and digital arts influenced and guided by his father and his younger brother, [a416887], a pioneering electronic music and video artist as one half of [a2549] and [a2263]. Alan also featured as part of the perth based audio-visual band [a966460] taking up the visual duties alongside james on sounds. Alan's plan is to pursue image creation as a full-time career and already has one book published and is currently working on a second. Alan has exhibited several times in Delhi, India, and twice in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Alan is married to Carole with two children, Laura and Craig. |

Search | Add | 5 | Little Jack MacDonald | Little Jack (1887 – 1969) was raised in Judique, NS by Annie MacMaster MacDonnell, the wife of his mother’s brother, Allan “Tal”. Raised in this culturally rich area, Little Jack was exposed to many fine fiddlers and the Gaelic language. As a youngster learning the culture, Jack attempted to construct a fiddle from a wooden cigar-box. Seeing such an interest, Jack’s foster father built a half-sized instrument for him, and thus was the beginning of Jack’s fiddling career. Jack spent many of his years away from Cape Breton due to work and lived in Montreal, New England, Northern Ontario, Windsor Ontario, and Detroit Michigan. He was known for his traditional style, attention to detail, excellent bowing and cuttings, and precise position work which lent themselves to his excellent expression of difficult pastoral airs. With such dedication, he has been described as “The Bard of Scottish Fiddling.” His styled is exampled in his eight recordings, most on 78 discs. His personal motto with regards to Cape Breton fiddle, appears in the book the “Cape Breton Fiddler” as “music must have soul to make it worthwhile.”

Search | Add | 5 | Gaspard de La Montagne | Gaspard Gigon | Having previously experimented with various styles of music and performed in several acts, Swiss artist Gaspard de la Montagne is distilling his sound into something truly unique, as dark and tough as it is beautiful. Though the elements in his music are sometimes ice-cold, together they leave you feeling the opposite. He impressed with his debut ‘Pôle’ EP in 2013 and again with both ‘Stallion’ and 'Thot' a couple of years later, as his focus shifted from synth-led euphoria to bassy, hybrid techno. Today, his tracks bring the two directions together with seldomly-heard originality. ‘Spectres’, Gaspard’s first EP for his own label Sbire, exhibits this balance as well as any of his music so far. Dark, functional tracks shot with beams of light, where shards of sound react with one another and melody reflects from the edges. |

Search | Add | 5 | Sharib - Toshi | Muhammad Ovez Sabri, popularly known as Toshi Sabri, is a singer of Rajasthan's Sabri Family. Toshi specializes in many genres ranging from Qawwali to Pop. He was also the lead playback singer in the film Raaz 2 in a song titled "Maahi". His next project was Jashn as a full-time music director. Toshi Sabri was born in Punjab, India but later moved to Jaipur in Rajasthan. Sabri, being from a musical family, started singing at an early age. Sabri's father is a classical Indian musician. Sharib Sabri, his brother, also belongs to the musical field and has participated in a few musical contests as well. Toshi has often mentioned his struggle after coming to Mumbai since the previous two years before being chosen to feature on Amul Star Voice of India. He left his studies before taking his 12th standard exams, and thus he couldn't find a decent job in Mumbai. Wanting to prove himself as a singer and get a big break, he sang at weddings, parties, occasions, restaurants, and even in a bar. As A Singer Toshi started his official music career from the film Raaz - The Mystery Continues in the blockbuster track Maahi. He along with his sibling and finalist of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 Sharib Sabri composed the superhit track of Maahi and Maahi Rock With Me version. He was a finalist in the Amul Star Voice of India which kickstarted his career and he has never looked back since then. He even sang a Telugu song "Seheri" along with Priya from the movie OY! composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and lyrics penned by Surendra Krishna, Krishna Chaitanya. He sang a very soulful song " Waqt Ki Dhoop " for Daboo Malik in the movie Kissan. He also sang a song “Vaada Raha” for the movie, Vaada Raha - I Promise. He is also one of the music directors of this film along with the living legend in music Babbu Maan, starring Bobby Deol and Kangana Ranaut . As a Composer Toshi and Sharib have composed the Maahi track of Raaz 2. They have also composed the whole album of Jashnn - a movie from Vishesh films. Although rumoured otherwise, Toshi does not hail from the Jaipur Sabri family of Qawwals. This fact was established by a direct question to the family who had performed in November in a concert organised by Delhi Government's Sahitya Kala Parishad.

Search | Add | 5 | Hans Priem-Bengrath | Hans Priem-Bergrath | German violinist and conductor, born 9 April 1925. His name is given on many releases as ‘Priem-Bengrath’, but the more idiomatic-looking ‘Priem-Bergrath’ gets more results on Google… His musical training took place at the Conservatory Gregoriushaus in Aachen . His violin teacher was Max Pfeiffer. Hans Priem-Bergrath studied under Artur Rother, Herbert Ahlendorf and Wilhelm Pitz, and later worked with Sir John Barbirolli , Franco Ferrara and Herbert von Karajan. At 20 he was in 1945, the first violinist of the Municipal Orchestra in Aachen. In 1948 he was engaged as concertmaster at the Municipal Theatre in Rheydt. From 1950 to 1980 he was deputy principal violist with the Berlin Philharmonic. In the meantime, he made his debut as Conductor in 1967. He conducted recordings and performances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Orquesta Sinfonica Venezuela and the Mexican Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Lucilles | The Lucilles are a band currently settled in Madrid, Spain, with Mexican leadership and members from several countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, USA or Argentina. A bunch of Soul lovers decided to help bring the Soul back to the dancehalls... And when they say Soul, they mean Soul in the classic sense of the word: those wonderful sounds from the 60's forefathers and the music that fed the Northern Soul scene during the 70's. With their first work "Sweet Soul Music vol1", published in april 2013 by Basque label "Gaztelupeko hotsak", they were voted favourite band for 2014 by LH Magazin and ranked #1 at the Soul Spain's poll in march 2015, in addition to play relevant festivals like "Festimad" or "Madgarden" and be booked as opening act for the rhythm and blues diva Velma Powell. The core of the band are Lucille Hurt and Aldo Cavaleiro, composers and arrangers of all of their material, who met back in 2010 and started to share their love for the 50's and 60's music as well as their interest in fashion and Modernism. One year later they already had put the band together and in the next 15 months become regulars of the Madrid live circuit, hitting all of the most importants and classical venues in town and achieving enthusiastic responses from the audiences. In fall 2012 they recorded their first work, a collection of classic tracks by Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, James Brown and The Beatles, besides by six originals penned by the duo Hurt/Cavaleiro and released in april 2013. Since then, the band has been touring the Basqueland, Catalonia and several other parts of Spain, participating in Modernist festivals like "Castizos 60's" in Madrid or "Mod Summer Fest" in Alicante. In 2015 the band has been invited to perform in major festivals "Festimad" and "Madgarden" in addition to open the Modernist scotter meeting "Scooter Run" in Guadalajara. At the end of the year The Lucilles crafted their second studio album "Northern exposure", recorded at "Rock Palace Studio" and produced by Melvin Hamilton III, a statement of intent clearly focused on the dancing but with room for dramatic slow songs, New Orleans sounds and Jamaican and Latin rhythms. 12 originals leaded by the magnificent voice of Lucille Hurt and again published by "Gaztelupeko Hotsak" in march 2016 there will be launched "Northern exposure" but in advance in february the upcoming first single "Soulless town" will have airplay and a 7" vynil with an inedit flip will be avaliable for sale. Following this a supporting tour will take place during the months of April and May and The Lucilles will be on stage in the main Spanish and Portuguese cities. The Lucille's first album is avaliable to listen in the "music" site, and don't forget to check the samples from "Northern exposure". If you want more information contact us or join our mailing list. There's only one Otis and Sam Cooke is his prophet!... Keep the Faith and let it shine! ;-)

Search | Add | 5 | Γιώργος Σισιλιάνος | Greek contemporary composer. Aka George or Yorgo Sicilianos. Athens, 29 Αυγούστου 1920 - 29 Μαρτίου 2005. Yorgo Sicilianos (1920-2005) is one of the most important figures of musical modernism in Greece. Born in Athens, he studied theory and composition with Kostas Sfakianakis, Marios Varvoglis and George Sklavos; from 1951 to 1953 he continued his studies at the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with Ildebrando Pizzetti, receiving a diploma in composition in 1953. While in Italy he was introduced to the music of Béla Bartók and the composers of the Second Viennese School, which proved influential on his later development, since it played a decisive role in his decision to turn to contemporary musical idioms. After Italy he attended Tony Aubin’s course in composition at the Conservatoire National in Paris (1953–54) and the classes of Walter Piston at Harvard University, Boris Blacher at the Tanglewood Institute and Vincent Perischetti at the Juilliard School of New York (1955–56). In New York, Sicilianos made the acquaintace of fellow Greek, conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos. Later (in March 1958), Mitropoulos premiered Sicilianos’ First Symphony, op. 14 (1956) with the New York Philharmonic. In 1956 Sicilianos returned to Greece permanently. At that time, he was one of the first Greek composers to follow modernist trends in music. He went on to produce a total output that consists of 63 works and encompasses all genres: symphonic music, chamber music, piano music, song cycles, opera, ballet, incidental music and more. Parallel to his work as a composer, Sicilianos was an active participant in Greek music life. He served as Head of the Music Department of the Greek Broadcasting Institute (1960–62), General Secretary of the Ministry of Education’s Greek Music Council (1963–64), Vice–president of the Greek section of the International Society for Contemporary Music and the Greek Association of Contemporary Music (1964–68 and 1965–69 respectively), Head of the Music Department of Greek Broadcast and Television (1974), member of the Artistic Committee and the Board of Trustees of the Greek National Opera (1976–79 and 1980–81 respectively), President of the Greek Composers’ Union (1981–89), member of the Board of Directors of Greek Radio and Television (1987–88) and President of the Artistic Committee of the Greek National Opera (1990–94). Throughout his career Sicilianos received significant distinctions. In 1962 he won the third prize at the Liège International String Quartet Competition for his String Quartet no. 3, op. 15 and his works were chosen twice to represent Greece at the Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music (Stasimon B, op. 25, Madrid, 1965 and Perspectives, op. 26, Prague, 1967). He was also honoured for his contribution to music with the following medals and prizes: Cavaliere “al merito della Republica Italiana” (Rome, 1962), Chevalier des Arts (Paris, 1990), Herder Prize (Vienna, 1991) and the Eirini G. Papaioannou Prize of the Academy of Athens (1994). Finally, in 1999 he received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Athens. Sicilianos’ work can be divided into three periods. The first period, during which he followed tonal and modal idioms, includes works he wrote until 1953, the year in which he finished his studies in Italy, when he still believed that the future of Greek music lay “at the point where Byzantine Chant intersects with Greek Folk Song”. The second period started with the Concerto for Orchestra, op. 12 (1954), where Sicilianos used for the first time the twelve-tone technique. This period, characterised by his seeking of and experimentation in contemporary musical trends (the twelve-tone technique, serialism, post-serialist techniques, electronic music), lasted about 25 years. Mellichomidi, op. 44 (1980) signalled the passage into a third period, during which the composer turned consciously to a more melodic and accessible idiom.

Search | Add | 5 | Stress Dolls | Chelsea O' Donnell | Stress Dolls is the moniker of Chelsea O'Donnell, an alt/pop/rock artist from Buffalo, NY. O'Donnell began playing around Western New York in 2013, initially calling herself Wolf and eventually forming a band. After releasing one EP, the group went through a few different line-ups and, in time, changed their name to Stress Dolls. In the Spring of 2016 the band recorded a self-titled EP at GCR Audio and released the recording later that same year. Over the next several months they performed in Buffalo as well as neighboring cities and towns, and opened shows for touring acts such as Shonen Knife, We Are Scientists, and USS. Due to differing pursuits the band split in early 2017, but O'Donnell decided to keep playing under the name Stress Dolls. She made a move to Nashville, TN but wasn't even there a year before chronic health issues she had been struggling with - Crohn's disease and gastroparesis- sent her to the hospital to undergo a feeding tube procedure. Following the surgery she moved back to Buffalo, and after a period of recovery, began writing, performing, and recording again. Largely due to the tentative nature of her health, O'Donnell established Stress Dolls as a solo act in order to decrease stress and go at her own pace. From 2019 to 2021 O'Donnell independently recorded and released new music with a few different collaborators, including Charles Dusel (Lonestar Sailing), Jay Milton (The Demos), and Marc Hunt. In early 2022 she was invited to work with producer Jim Wirt (Jack's Mannequin, Something Corporate, Incubus) at Superior Sound Studios in Cleveland, OH. After recording several songs together, including her upcoming single, "Body," she was offered a record deal with Sun Pedal Recordings. Currently, Stress Dolls takes on several forms live: solo with O'Donnell and her acoustic guitar; as a duo when joined by longtime collaborator Sally Schaefer on violin; or as a band when combined with members TJ Luckman (bass), Jordan Smith (lead guitar), and Josh English (drums). The project's sound has drawn such comparisons as "Joni Mitchell meets Nirvana," "Avril Lavigne and Foo Fighters in a blender," and "Kathleen Hanna fronting Modest Mouse." |

Search | Add | 5 | Валера Коротин | Валерий Коротин | Author, Composer in Shanson Genre.
