Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 The Collegium Musicum Of Columbia University "The Collegium Musicum has been performing for the Columbia community for nearly sixty years. Founded in the mid-1950s, the Collegium was first conceived as an opportunity for graduate students in musicology to experience early music in a performance context that was tightly integrated with the academic curriculum. Previous directors have founded or are currently directors of notable choral ensembles, including Capella Nova (Richard Taruskin), Pomerium (Alexander Blachly), and Anonymous 4 (Susan Hellauer, also director of the Collegium Musicum at Queen's College), and Eric Rice (the Collegium Musicum of the University of Connecticut). Historic recordings of the Collegium can still be found at http://minstrelrecords.com/Coll_Des.htm." Text taken from http://collegium.music.columbia.edu/history.html, 10 October, 2016

Search Add 9 Marisa Solinas Marisa Anna Solinas Italian actress and singer born in Genoa on May 30, 1941 – 13 February 2019 Marisa Solinas – known under several pretty nicknames such as “The Pocket Venus of the Italian Cinema” and the “iron chick” – born in Genoa from a Tuscan mother and from a Sardinian father. Her passion for the opera and singing – that she has studied at the Carlo Felice in Genoa – together with the expressive beauty of a cover girl projected her very soon into the cinema world. Immortalized by the greatest international photographers for almost three hundred covers and an infinite number of the most important newspapers (among which, the foreign Paris Match, France-Soir, Jour de France, Daily News, Film und Frau, Primer Plano, Corriere Canadese, and the Italian Gente, Oggi, Epoca, Sorrisi e Canzoni, Il Giorno, Tempo, Il Borghese, La Domenica del Corriere, Confidenze, Playboy, etc.), her image, skillfully captured by Marquis Crispolti, has been also used for a very widespread "seal-stamp”. In 1973, Gina Lollobrigida choose her as "Italian Venus” for her photo book "Italia Mia". She has also posed for the great sculptor Francesco Messina, for a life-size bronze nude which has been exhibited in several international expositions. Cinema and theatre actress, she has played in more than 50 films for the cinema screen both in Italy and abroad, among which: "Boccaccio 70" (by Mario Monicelli; Festival Cannes '61), "La Commare Secca" (Pier Paolo Pasolini) by Bernardo Bertolucci (Festival Venice '62), "Noche De Verano" (Award of Festival Mar de la Plata '62) by Jorge Grau (with G. Maria Volonté, Francisco Rabal, Umberto Orsini), "Freddy, Tiere, Sensationen" (1965, with Freddy Quinn) by K. Vibak, "Buona Come Il Pane" (1966) by Edward Dein (director of Brando), "Padre Di Famiglia" (Festival Venice '67) by Nanni Loy (with Leslie Caron, Ugo Tognazzi and Nino Manfredi), "Riderà" (1967) by Bruno Corbucci (with Little Tony and Oreste Lionello), "Killer Adiòs" (1968) by Primo Zeglio, "Blind Man" (1971) by Ferdinando Baldi (with Ringo Starr), "L'Arbitro" (1972, with Lando Buzzanca and Joan Collins), "Ybris" (Festival Venice '83) by Gavino Ledda, "I Due Carabinieri" (1987) by and with Carlo Verdone (with Enrico Montesano), "Tutti Dentro" (1987) by and with Alberto Sordi, "L'Ombra Del Gigante" (Festival Berlin 2000) by Roberto Petrocchi, "Almost Blue" (Festival Cannes 2000) by Alex Infascelli. In '62, she was the only Italian actress selected by the great Lee Strasberg for a course of the "Actors Studio" in Italy. We remember her in the TV-films "Quo Vadis" (1987, with Karl Maria Brandauer, Frederic Forrest, Leopoldo Trieste) by Franco Rossi, "Tutti Gli Uomini Sono Uguali" (with Enzo Decaro and Maurizio Crozza) by Alessandro Capone, and the more recent "Lucia" (with Sabrina Ferilli) by Pasquale Pozzessere. Marisa Solinas is also known as professional singer, having started her career by recording for the most important record companies (EMI-Voce del Padrone, FONIT CETRA, RCA), with a repertoire ranging from the auteur Light Music to the operetta. She has singed with famous artists like Tony Renis, Adriano Celentano, Domenico Modugno, Gianni Morandi, Fausto Leali, Renato Zero, Edoardo Vianello, Pino Donaggio, Memo Remigi, Giorgio Gaber, Mal, Sacha Distel and her unforgettable bosom friend Luigi Tenco, who dedicated to her some songs, among which "Quando". In 1963 she interpreted pieces by some of the most important music authors all around the world such as Gilbert Becaud, who chose her as exclusive Italian interpreter of his two hits "Je T'Aime" and "Mon Arbre" for the EMI - Voce Del Padrone, J. Chavez ("Per Chi Sogna Annamaria"), Edoardo Vianello, Franco Califano, Nisa, Detto Mariano, Stelvio Cipriani, Giorgio Calabrese, Giacomo Dell'Orso, Giuseppe Cassia and Elvio Monti. From '66 to '72, she played in several music shows, among which, a recital with Mina in Vicenza, directed by Gianni Ferrio. During the opening of the broadcasting station "Tele Napoli", she sang Roberto Murolo’s songs together with their author. She was top of the charts with Elvio Monti’s piece "L'Estasi", sung together with Andrea Giordana. Furthermore she has performed in some of the most famous revenues all around the world, among which the ONU Palace (invited by Ruggero Orlando, who has also dedicated her a poem) in New York, the Skylon Room of the Niagara Falls in Canada, Caracas ("Renny Ottolina Show", with Sammy Davis and Djonne Warwick). In the television world she was launched (1959) as singer by Domenico Modugno. For the Rai she appeared as guest in "Alla Fiera del Mago Zurlì" (with Cino Tortorella and Johnny Dorelli), "Musicalissimo" (with Tony Dall'Ara) by and with Gino Bramieri, "Domenica In" (various editions, among which the ones by Corrado and the ones by Pippo Baudo), "Alle Nove della Sera" (show of Rai Uno by Maurizio Costanzo) together with Gianni Morandi, and "Musicrama" with Alida Valli. For Radio Uno, she has conducted for months the morning music programme "Il Topo di Discoteca", with all her songs. At the Bagaglino in Rome she was main interpreter in the show by Faele and Pingitore "Anche L'Occhio Vuole La Sua Partner", by executing a part of her own repertoire. At the Odeon in Milan she has sung within the recital "Il Dito Sulla...Mala" by Castellacci and Pingitore. She has interpreted several operettas among which "La Principessa della Czarda", "Cin-Ci-Là", "Il Paese Dei Campanelli", "Al Cavallino Bianco" and "Il Paese Del Sorriso" at the Teatro Cento in Ferrara, filmed by Rai for the television programme "Odeon" by Maurizio Costanzo.

Search Add 9 B.J. Hegen Blues Band Nederland Members: B.J. Hegen [The Iron Man] (vocal, guitar, harmonica), Eric Zuidema [little Weazel] (guitar), Cynthio Ooms [STeady Rollin'] (bass), Will Drenth [Big Eyes] (drums) B.J.

Search Add 9 Geoff Higginbottom Geoff was born 13 February 1959, Stockport, Cheshire, England. During his early career Higginbottom played the circuit of folk clubs and pubs in his native northwest. In August 1985, he was placed third in a competition at the Warwick Folk Festival. In the November of the same year, he released Songs From The Levenshulme Triangle. The following year, he performed at the Sidmouth Folk Festival, and was subsequently re-booked for 1987 and 1988. This gave Higginbottom a wider profile, and brought club and festival bookings all over England. He has since ventured further afield, playing Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands. In addition to his musical career, Higginbottom has also made numerous appearances on UK television in bit parts, turning up in such soaps as Coronation Street, Brookside and Emmerdale, as well as a number of other productions. Flowers Tomorrow received a good response and brought Higginbottom to wider attention. The title track has been sung by a number of other performers, and the album as a whole mixed contemporary and traditional styles, with his guitar and bodhrán to the fore. More Than Pounds And Pence, released in December 1990 has helped to establish Higginbottom as a highly-regarded performer and writer.

Search Add 9 Galis115 Adrian Ortiz His passion for music is reflected not only in his hard work, but also by the versatility of styles practiced. Under the pseudonym Galis115 combines rhythms from the down tempo and triphop, to instrumental hiphop and experimental electronic, however any sound effect is welcome to improved the sensations and create a story. Do not be surprised if you recognise famous historical speeches or unmistakable soundtracks in a mixture in which could go unnoticed. Mr Ortis, alter ego leading another project, immerses in funk, soul and the roots of black music. He is also the mastermind of Ucranian Bride, a project aiming to go beyond the sensory aspect of music to make physical the sensations. An audio experiment where turntables and CD players are combined, twisted and mixed with multiple sound processes. Distorting the image of the DJ and making the sound experimentation the main ingredient.

Search Add 9 Михаил Эпельбаум Эпельбаум Михаил Иосифович 1894-1957 Jewish singer and actor. He studied at home teachers, then in a private gymnasium and at the Warsaw Musical Institute. From 1911 he took part in the ethnographic expedition in the towns of Podolia and Volhynia, where he recorded samples of Jewish folk music. He performed a lot in the composition of Jewish theatrical (mainly musical-dramatic) collectives: in 1910 and 1912, in the troupe I.Korik (1876-1947) and A.Vainstein, in 1911 - in the company of S.Genfer (1874-1913), in 1913 and 1915-16. - in the collective of L. Rappel, in 1914-15. - A.Fishzon, in 1916-17. - N. Lipovsky (1874-1928). After the October Revolution, he performed for some time at the Russian Theater of Musical Comedy and Drama under the direction of IP Brandesko (Moscow), and worked with the outstanding Jewish artist Clara Jung on several occasions. The singer's strong voice (dramatic baritone) allowed him to perform opera arias. At the invitation of the Kiev Opera House, he repeatedly and with unchanging success fulfilled the role of Demon in the opera of the same name by Anton Rubinstein. Epelbaum played in dramatic plays, especially the role of De Silva in "Uriel Acosta" by K. Gutskov. However, the greatest glory of the singer was the fulfillment of Jewish songs on the stage. Epelbaum's repertoire was unusually wide and included songs and ballads recorded by Epelbaum during ethnographic expeditions. In 1927-33 years. Epelbaum toured with a concert program in Europe, America, Africa; the performing skill of the "Jewish Chaliapin" was widely recognized in various circles. On his return from the tour, Epelbaum settled in Leningrad (see St. Petersburg), worked at the Theater of Musical Comedy, in the regional philharmonic society, in Lengosestrad, toured the cities of the Soviet Union; his work was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In the years 1941-45. Epelbaum lived in evacuation in Siberia, worked in the Novosibirsk Concert Association; After the war he returned to Leningrad, performed with concerts of Jewish songs in various cities of the Soviet Union. In 1949, during the defeat of Jewish culture, he was arrested and sentenced to ten years in prison. His wife Rosalia Apelbaum was also convicted. Rehabilitated in 1954, returned to Leningrad. Although the honorary title of the artist was returned, the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR did not allow the Lenkontsert to accept Epelbaum for permanent work, allowing only speeches on a contractual basis. The repertoire of the Jewish song, with which the singer performed, was subjected to severe censorship; often he was not allowed to speak only with the "Jewish" program, prescribing in the first section of the concert to perform Russian songs. However, in the conditions of Khrushchev's "thaw", Epelbaum triumphantly traveled with Jewish songs to many cities of Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States.

Search Add 9 Somnus Corp Beto Rodriguez, Gabriel Sordo, Jorge Lopez Somnus Corp were formed in 2000 in Guadalajara Mexico and was driven by the solid and deep friendship of Beto Rodriguez, Gabriel Sordo and Jorge Lopez. They started to make a noise in the underground scene of Guadalajara for the remixes they did for local bands like "Sussie 4" and "Telefunka". They also became known for their live performances and reworks by their live alter ego's "Oceano 303", "Forward" and "Jorge". Beto Rodriguez has more than 13 years experience in DJ residencies in almost every major night club in guadalajara where he has been an essential component in promoting house music into the city. Jorge Lopez, with half of his life in the late 80's playing in new wave & new romantic bands, got the house music bug when he finally discovered the other side of music, house music. Gabriel with just 6 years as a DJ has already become one of the best 5 DJ's in his genre around Mexico, with residencies all over the country with Moshic and Randall Jones. He has already shared the decks with some of the biggest names in the business such as Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Chris Fortier, Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Jimmy Van M, Steve Porter and Lee Burridge to name a few. Their music has been regularly supported and charted by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren , Sander Kleinenberg, Kosmas Epsilon , Chris Salt , Moshic and Derek Howell.

Search Add 9 Ingvar Ambjørnsen Ingvar Ambjørnsen, born in 1956 in Tönsberg, Norway's most pub-rich town, grew up in the equally less exciting Larvik. He did not complete his gardener's apprenticeship and otherwise worked in various jobs in industry and psychiatry, as informal training for writers, so to speak. First book published in 1981: the untranslated documentary novel "23-salen". Lives in Hamburg since 1985. Married to [a=Gabriele Haefs]. (1956–) is considered one of the great storytellers of contemporary Norwegian literature. His books are characterised by powerful, realistic descriptions of the seamier side of life. The protagonists are often outsiders – described with sympathetic insight and warmth. Loneliness and friendship are expressed in a concise literary style. Since his literary début in 1981 Ambjørnsen has written 18 novels and three collections of short stories, as well as several books for children and youth. The author’s great breakthrough came in 1986 with the novel Hvite niggere (White Trash) – a crass exposure of the plight of that unfortunate soul seeking out an existence in sub-cultures. His most successful novels in recent years is the quartet about the odd-ball Elling; critically acclaimed and very well sold to Ambjørnsen’s wide audience. Ambjørnsen has introduced something entirely new with his books about Elling. His stories contain less external plot, but proportionately more crazy inventiveness and absurd humour. The entire Elling series has been made into three movies. The first one has been shown in many countries and was nominated to an Oscar for best foreign picture in 2001. The theatre play Elling has appeared on stage at several theatres around Europe.

Born in Tenerife, Spain in December 1990, when the Breakbeat Hardcore with all the rave scene comes for revolutionize the world. At the age of 9 years old, he discover the first CD of Sigma 7 (a Breakbeat group from the Canary Islands). The breakbeats samples, pianos, leads, stabs, cutted vocals, etc, wake up a new passion, a new world to discover. His mind didn't stop thinking about those sounds and he start to search more music with those rhythms, finding old mixtapes, more CDs and soon discovered The Rave Kulture, all of this come from the Oldskool Hardcore scene. Years later, at his 16-17 years old, starts to produce some bad tunes only for entertiment (on Sony Acid Pro 4) under the name Dj 4dR1. The Hardcore scene on Tenerife was growing up again, becoming so popular with illegal raves and parties with local dj's and some UK artists. In 2012-2013, Adrian creates his own soundcloud where he upload some mixes but start to learn how to produce with FruityLoops 11, learning as a self-taught person praising how the early Hardcore Producers did it back in the day, with those analogic systems, old computers and synthesizers. Doing some tracks and not only a simple redubs like in the past, "He convert The Samplemania on his new religion" as many Oldskool pioneers, searching, recording and saving all the influences and samples as he can. By the 2015, the 18 of May come his first release on ExperimentalBass Records (a Spain based digital label). Special thanks to his friend and influencer Bennasar who plays his first tunes on the biggest Hardcore party in Tenerife, the Dj Jonay's Anniversary and later in the 2017 rocking again with more tracks where the crew comes crazy, during those years, he continues releasing more elaborated tunes on FL12 and FL20 till 2018... For the 2019 to 2021, he comes as Designer for some new records labels based in Tenerife as: Eden-Hardcore Records, The "Marley draw" on Illegal Plates, Destructive Records and Ideal Production Records. The Oldskool Hardcore sounds are his passion and he try to do it like in the early 90's, for the ravers and lovers of that golden era as a hobby making his own little steps on the Hardcore Scene. Search Add 9 Dr. Martens Beat Dr. Martens Beat got together as a band around 1998. Jose & Sonia were also playing in Ruín Bois at the time, but they would occasionally meet some good friends who had a project (I wouldn’t call it a band really, as they could hardly play at all, were just testing out ideas for songs, and didn’t even have a proper drummer), so one day they simply gathered to see what could come out of it, and since they got along really well and loved to drink a beer or three in the meanwhile, a new band was born. They agreed on the name Dr. Martens Beat as it sounded just great, and they also meant to pay homage to one of their favourite bands back then: Böhse Onkelz. Eventually the line-up would be Néstor (vocals & lyrics), Jose (lead guitar & songs), Carlos (rhythm guitar), Dani (bass) and Sonia (drums). At first, their songs were mostly in Galician, but knowing how little most people would care about them around here, they went for English. In a few months they had recorded a couple of demo-tapes, which were basically done with an old mixing-desk that was left on recording while the band was rehearsing, at no cost at all by the way, which was a fuckin’ brilliant plus! Mind you, those demos were never intended to be published at all. They just wanted to check out what they sounded like, and were for private use. It’s kind of surprising to be told that they’re on the web, and quite a few people have them (and apparently like them!). Furthermore, someone even spent the time (and I guess money) to produce a cassette, without any permission of course… Eh motherfucker, where’s our fuckin’ cash??!! Anyway Néstor decided to send copies of those songs to some European labels and that brought about their first EP, on Dim Records in Germany. Those four tracks were recorded around 1999 in the same place where they used to practise at that time. Considering it was the first time that they or, for that matter, the studio guy himself was to record something properly, I guess sound-wise there’s not so much to complain about. Also around that time they were to have the first of the two gigs they ever got to play (funnily enough both of them outside Galiza!). One was the farewell concert of Ruín Bois in León (Spain), the other a festival near Lisbon (Portugal) together with Mataratos and other Punk, Hardcore and Metal bands. Incidentally, that gig would end up in a serious riot, which appeared in the Portuguese papers the following day, nice pic of the Galician band included! Soon after Dim brought out that 7”, Carlos left the band. No big deal really. From then on, Néstor took up playing rhythm guitar too, and Jose would also sing in some songs, so apart from the music, he started writing his own lyrics. More practicing and quite a few beers later, they got a recording offer from Bords De Seine in France. They recorded three songs for the label: two of them sung by Jose and one by Néstor. It must be said this time they were a lot happier with the sound quality, not to mention the songs themselves! In 2001 “You’ll never walk alone” and “The Man who came from León” were published as a 7”, whereas in that same year “In the Crowd” was to show up on a compilation LP called “Oi! What a Wonderful World”, with international bands such as Forced Reality or The Templars. In any case, around that time DMB just decided to call it a day. There were proposals to publish an album, but the truth is they were hardly rehearsing at all, and they simply were not having fun any longer, as they used to. They basically went their separate ways (two ended up living in London) and pretty soon some of them were to be found in different music ventures. What you hold here is all their studio works, plus a bonus track taken from one of their demos, a reminder of the good times they had back then. Having a laugh?... sure, but “fuck the world” was more like it… Jose (Dr. Martens Beat), January 2017
