Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Pervis Lee | Pervis Lee was a popular singer and performer from Charlotte, North Carolina. Lee got his start in the early 60s playing country clubs and private parties, eventually recording two albums, the self-released Himself in 1970 and Leeway some time later (exact release date is unknown) for the Snyder Album Co. out of Winston Salem, NC. Both albums are showcases for the wide range of musical styles Lee performed (folk, rock, R&B, gospel, standards, and even calypso) and his choice of material gives a strong sense that Lee was as much an entertainer as he was a recording artist. Pervis Lee continued to perform around Charlotte in the decades that followed. He retired from his day job as a chauffeur in 1994 and performed live music as late as 2001. He passed away on July 4th 2015 at the age of 81.

Search | Add | 9 | Georges Marinkovitch | Đorđe Marinković | French musician (played guitar, zither, various string instruments, flute), composer and guitar professor of Serbian origin - born as Đorđe Marinković (Ђорђе Маринковић) in the Kingdom of Serbia on the 19th of September 1891 in Korbovo, a village near Kladovo. He served in Serbian army during the First World War first as a drummer and later as a zither player in the military orchestra. The Serbian army retreated to the South through Albania and the troops have been stationed on the Greek island Corfu. In 1916 Đorđe Marinković composed a nostalgic and Serb nationalistic song "Tamo daleko" that became very popular not only amongst Serb but also among other soldiers on the Thessaloniki front and was rendered into many languages, English title is "Far away over there", French "Au loin, au loin sur Corfu", Czech and Slovak "Tam v dali". The song became an unofficial hymn of Serbs and it is a common believe that it is a traditional one. After the WWI Marinković got the scholarship from the King Peter I personally and moved to France in 1920. In Paris 1922 he copyrighted the composition and lyrics for the song "Tamo daleko" worldwide, the fact officially acknowledged not untill 2008. Đorđe Marinković has got some recordings under the alias Georges Mariel. He died 1977 in Paris. |

Search | Add | 9 | The Sherwoods Of Cornell | The Sherwoods (1956–1973) The Cornell University Glee Club is the oldest student organization at Cornell University, having been organized shortly after the first students arrived on campus in 1868. Over the years, The Glee Club has spawned several spinoff a capella subsets. The club currently has only one official a cappella subset, The Hangovers, but two other spinoff groups, Cayuga's Waiters and The Sherwoods. The Sherwoods were formed in 1958 by renegade choristers who left the Glee Club to form their spin off group. First appearing at the Glee Club's 1956 fall concert, The Sherwoods of Cornell gained prominence quickly among collegiate musical groups. They embarked on their first international tour in the summer of 1957 with an itinerary including Hawaii and the Far East. By 1958, they were a successful act ,in there own right, and were in great demand both on and off campus. This enormous success came at a price, however, and led to conflicts with the Glee Club, which had remained The Sherwoods' parent organization during these formative years. In the fall of 1958, the two organizations split officially. The Sherwoods toured extensively, traveling to Hawaii, the Far East, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, and Jamaica and on two extensive tours for the USO, entertaining troops in the Philippines, and throughout Germany . They commonly wore dark (Sherwood) green jackets and ties for performances. Rather than sing stock arrangements, The Sherwoods wrote their own. They were known for rich 6-8 part harmony music unique among other a cappella groups of their time. The popularity of a cappella singing faded for a period in the early 1970s and The Sherwoods stopped auditioning new members in 1973. It also marked the final year in which the Sherwoods were featured in The Cornellian, Cornell University's annual year book. In 1985 The Class of '65 invited the 'Younger' Sherwoods back to Cornell to entertain them at their 20th reunion. It was the first time in twenty years The Youngers had met to re-learn their songs and practice their entertaining introductions. The 'Younger' Sherwoods have been returning to Cornell's Ithaca campus to perform at reunions every year since 1985, celebrating their 26th annual shows in 2010, once again entertaining the Class of '65, this time at the class's 45th reunion. The 'Founders' Sherwoods gather at various times during the year, continuing to practice and perform the repertoire they sang during their era at Cornell. Between the two Sherwoods groups there are about 45 active Sherwood singers performing today. Noted hit singer/songwriter [a320273] sang with the Sherwoods for several years, writing two songs performed by the group, 'Let me Down Easy' and 'Winter Song'. As an undergraduate, Chapin was preoccupied with his own songwriting, and he eventually dropped out of Cornell University to focus on his early career as a successful singer-songwriter. Search | Add | 9 | Borg Linz | borg SOUNDS Composing your own songs is an essential part of training at Pop BORG Linz. The foundation stone for this is laid during a project week at the beginning of the 6th grade - supervised by Gottfried Angerer and Günther Böcksteiner. During the 6th and 7th grade, pieces are written for 2 shows in the Posthof Linz. The 7th grade songs will be recorded on CD in a final project week. Ensemble and recording management: Wolfger Buchberger and Georg Wild. Mix/Mastering: Wolfger Buchberger "Music is the common language of humanity." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow For musically gifted students, an in-depth examination of all areas of serious and popular music on an auditory, analytical and practical level is made possible. Piano, guitar, electric guitar, drums, saxophone, vocal lessons (voice training) and violin are currently offered in instrumental lessons and are taught in small groups (3 to 5 students). This enables largely individual support for the student. The compulsory elective subjects music education and instrumental lessons offer the opportunity to deal with individual focuses theoretically and practically with smaller groups. In the 6th and 7th grade, the choir or instrumental ensemble is compulsory. This ensures a further deepening of the practical skills learned in music or instrumental lessons and enables the students to make targeted, cross-class music-making at a high level. The equipment of the school, which is unique for this area in Upper Austria, with a large number of pianos, instruments in every area and technical systems, enables a comprehensive musical education, which can be expanded even further in non-binding exercises. The technically very well equipped ballroom with its variable stage is regularly the scene of concerts and musical performances by the students of the BORG. IMPORTANT !!!: Interest in music of all styles in the practical and theoretical area. Joy and willingness to perform when singing, practicing, making music together and presenting in public.

Search | Add | 9 | Eddie Merced | Electronic music has long been used as a medium for escapism, whether that’s the mindful release of the dancefloor or the imagined vistas of outer space. Eddie Merced distils both these qualities into his craft, using the foundational structures of deep techno and house as a carrier for his expansive, star-gazing productions. An early intake of his father’s freestyle records while growing up in Hartford, Connecticut, was the gateway into electronic music for Merced, but his own journey went deeper and further out into all kinds of subgenres. He took time to reflect on all these stimuli before entering into production himself, and now you can hear the melodic splendour of ambient and trance colliding with the committed experimentation of techno in his tracks. The groove is still a vital ingredient though – as much as Merced uses his music as a platform for cinematic expression, he’s still focused on the ritualistic physical response that dance music was originally built for. Early accolades came thick and fast for Merced’s first releases – Laurent Garnier was a keen supporter of his first 12” From Within, which came out on Gabcat in 2016. Since then subsequent releases have appeared on Savvy Records and Snail Juice, while additional tracks have appeared on Brothers’ Vibe’s seminal NJ house label Mixx Records, and Karim Sahraoui’s MIRAKLES. Continuing to develop his sonic imprint, Merced also launched the Mercetti alias as an outlet for his more house oriented sounds, which appeared on NightChild Records in 2018 via the masterful All Night EP. With his focus on illustrious, sweeping synth lines still present at the core, Mercetti sits comfortably alongside Merced’s primary techno output. Whichever strand to his craft you choose to focus on, Eddie Merced’s instinct for emotionally charged melodies and vividly rendered sonic vistas make this the quintessential music for escapism of any kind, carrying on the fine tradition that came before him and heading into uncharted space.

Search | Add | 9 | Ivan Bullock | Ivan Bullock | Ivan was born in the mid 70s and enrolled in Piano and Violin training at a young age in his home town, Canberra. By the teens, he had focused exclusively on Violin, enjoying a point of difference by not just having the only white instrument case in town, but also playing an instrument lovingly crafted by his (now deceased) Father (a part time instrument maker), from a striking African hard wood “Zebrano”. By the age of 18 however, neck injury sustained from prolonged use of the instrument put an end to music creation. Over the next few years Ivan experimented with the digital arts and set about listening to a broad range of music from progressive and metal, through to industrial, ambient, and of course classical. The late 1990′s saw a large personal adjustment and long-term move to Tokyo, which became a catalyst for creativity and learning. The intensity, stress and isolation of central Tokyo living also birthed Mystral Tide, leading to years of experimentation with break-beats, piano and synthesis. Sean Cooper of Zeitgeist Records (Brisbane) produced and funded the first official CD release “Whirlpool of Souls”, which led to performance opportunities in Europe and Japan. Over the next few years two more full albums were released, “Geometry of Loss” a 3 CD set recorded in Tokyo and completed in Melbourne, and “Isle of Narrows” a sorrowful and dark classical journey released in 2009. After returning to Australia and settling in Melbourne, Ivan began investing time and finances into the general support of underground musicians. For over a decade Dawn Industry (formerly Demus), fought against the commercialised and mundane profit-driven music “industry” through a series of Australian events called Enzyme, providing underground artists a release-platform and regular live performance opportunities. |

Thanks in large part to the the Dons of the UK Hip Hop mixtape game, Disorda, MK, Yoda, Greenpeace, Louis Slipperz & The Nextmen et al, he was fortunate to discover music on vinyl before he discovered stamps... same collector’s infliction, but a slightly cooler manifestation that resulted in him preferring puma hi-tops to anoraks and Blak Twang to Penny Blacks! These days the musical taste is broader but the same love of an intricately constructed mixtape continues and can be found on the series of independent cassette releases on his Spines on the Shelves mixtape label.

Search | Add | 9 | Kim Köster | Kim Köster grew up in the picturesque artists’ village of Worpswede. In 1994 he begins to become active in the graffiti scene and to fashion the public space with his pieces under the pseudonym MIKone. With the decision to move to Berlin he broke away from the limited letter-based graffiti style and turned his focus on new media and fine arts. Today Kim Köster (born 1981) embarks on a random journey through reality and imagination. His works (mural painting, photography and installations spanning multiple rooms) are inspired by individual perception and atmospheric intuition. On this intuitive journey “souvenirs” emerge that appear apocalyptic through the complexity of the used media and nonetheless, even though without conceptual intent, vitalize existing structures. In this way in 2003/2004 the interdisciplinary art project 99rooms in collaboration with Richard Schumann, Stephan Schulz and Johannes Bünemann comes into existence. It has lured about 2 million visitors from around the globe in the rooms of abandoned industrial buildings and turns each individual into a participant of one of his intuitive journeys. His recent works "POSITIVE-NEGATIVE" display contrasted experiences of a surreal excursion into the constant play of light and shade. The interaction of painting and negative-developed slides provides impressive confusion in an inspiring exaggerated world of colors. Search | Add | 9 | Charles A. Glenn Jr. | Charles Alexander Glenn Jr. | At the age of 15, Charles Alexander Glenn, Jr. began carving out his part of Nashville music folklore. While still in high school, he played music at every opportunity as the bassist for a cover band called [a=The Endeavors]. When school was finished, the band decided to challenge the music scene in Los Angeles and try to get signed by a major recording company. Discouraged after two years with no recording deal, the members of the Endeavors went back to their roots in Nashville. Now that Charles had experienced the Los Angeles music scene, he felt sure that he had discovered the "recipe" that would work to land a recording contract. He wasted no time in bringing together all of his Nashville music friends. When the instrumental and vocal blend was absolutely perfect, they all 'knew'. This band could climb the mountain to stardom in LA. They would be called [a=Ozone (5)]. The new band was recognized by music icon [a=Billy Preston] who snatched them up to be his personal band. After touring over two years with Preston, they were signed to a recording contract by [l=Motown] Records where they created and released five Ozone albums and became the "house band" for several acts on the Motown roster. Ozone recorded and toured with [a=Teena Marie], [a=Debarge], [a=Sammy Davis, Jr.] and [a=Luther Vandross] among others. Being everybody's "house band" at Motown had its advantages, but it didn't focus on advancing Ozone's public recognition and definitely hindered the group from becoming a household name. Ozone had created the sound and magic for everybody else, while their careers were put on "back burner" status by the marketing machine at Motown. Without the company giving them radio and tour support, Ozone disbanded. Charles moved to Europe and immediately went to work touring and recording exclusively as the bassist for Billy Preston. Charles was also offered a position in [a=Little Richard]'s band and over two decades later, plays every show, recording date and television appearance with Little Richard. In between tours, Charles worked in his LA area studio, arranging and producing music for clients like Disney Records, for which he worked on "For Our Children", including artists [a=Paul McCartney], [a=Elton John] and [a=Paula Abdul]. Charles arranged, played the instruments and produced the hit single "Itsy Bitsy Spider" on that album for his long-time mentor, Little Richard. These days, Charles is up to another project altogether: The first in a series of Charles Glenn albums was released in late August 2007 (The Bass King). This music is a "compilation of a lifetime of experiences and styles". A second album has been scheduled to be released early in 2008 to coincide with tours with an all-star band. Charles has never lost his passion for live performance. |

Search | Add | 9 | Ryder Houston | Ryder Harrison Houston is an American filmmaker and musician born and bred just outside of Dallas, Texas. At age 19, he released his first feature film "Rapture in Blue," a noir-ish ode to the overwhelming gothic zeitgeist that permeated the high '90s. Included on the eponymous soundtrack composed by himself is the haunting theme “Wine (A Sea Of Future)” performed by Ariana Kelly. It was this very release which would catalyze the future of Houston's musical endeavors. As much as his evocative sound dotes on alternative pop acts Depeche Mode, Garbage, and even Madonna at her most controversial, it also seems to suggest something greater operating on the periphery: a dark, omnipresent melodrama not unlike the crooning music of David Lynch composer Angelo Badalamenti and the baroque stylings of Lana Del Rey. Nevertheless, Houston's work remains adhered to a certain groovy allusion to chopped-and-screwed electronica as his spidery vocals weave clichés of lust and rock ‘n’ roll menace anew.

Search | Add | 9 | Експрес | Studio "Express" originally had the idea to record an album with wedding songs, it was in 1998. Then the name for the band was invented - "Express" Yes, in the first album vocal parties performed Vladimir Izhitsky. With the release of new albums, the composition of the soloists increased: Boris Sychevsky, Maxim Kucher, Tetiana Kostiuk-Augustinovich, Leonid Svytyuk, Vadim Swintsitsky, Yuriy Havrylyuk, Vyacheslav Kukoba, Inna Knizhnyk. All the batches of the pipe were performed by Valentin Ternovoy. Since the release of the first album of the group, Sychevsky and Izhitsky have been working in various collectives.
