Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | The Next Step Quintet | The Next Step Quintet is a jazz band, based in Athens, Greece. Thodoris Kotsyfas (guitar), Giannis Papadopoulos (piano), Ntinos Manos (double bass) and Vasilis Podaras (Drums) were still studying at the Music Department of the Ionian University when they shared a common vision in music and started their “four member quintet”. In 2011, the four combined forces with the Swedish Greek Saxophone player Orfeas Tsoukalas and, after a year of frenetic creativity, their eponymous album was released through the Greek record label Puzzlemusik. While Tsoukalas only contributed to the one album, the four original members completed their lineup with a succession of guest artists, including the likes of the New York singer, JD Walter and tenor saxophonist [a=Tivon Pennicott]. The band's second album, “II”, guest stars Tivon Pennicott (Tenor sax) and [a=Takis Paterelis] (Alto sax) and will be released in November 2015.

February 22, 1986 He began piano lessons at age eight. At 12, Eddy was part of a local orchestra, playing the piano while his audience kept time to two-step favorites. In the Navy, during the first World War, he played on stage with many celebrities like Douglas Fairbanks, Mary Pickford, and others. Then he played the saxophone in one of John Philip Sousa's hand-picked bands from 1917-1919. In 1923, Eddy Hanson became the first radio organist in Chicago at station WDAP (later WGN), playing on radio shows with Grace Wilson, Kate Smith and Rudy Vallee, "Amos and Andy," "Fibber McGee and Molly," "Helen Trent," "Myrt and Marge" and others. Hanson moved back to Wisconsin, retiring in Waupaca, in the early 1960s. He performed locally with polka bandleader Lawrence Duchow, and taught lesson's through Al Rollo's Hammond Organ studios. He released 3 LPs and a single (from the 3rd LP) through Rollo's private label in 1969, and reissued one LP, "Eddy Hanson - Master Organist" through his own personal Kobar Records in 1985. In the 1970s he was regarded as the oldest master organist still alive, and still active giving concerts and seminars on organ performance. After another decade of successes and accolades, Eddy was honored as a special member of 1980 AMICA (Automatic Musical Instrument Collector's Association) for his earlier piano roll work. In April of 1984 Eddy moved into the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King, Wisconsin. The master organist died there at the age of 92 in 1986. |

The laid back opening “Whatever makes you happy” is like a comfortable shoe that just feels right and shuffles along. Whildin combines the lyrical slices of blue collar life similar to Bruce Springsteen with the melodic touch of Fountains of Wayne. Vocally, he reminds me of Chris Stamey a little bit. “My Home Town” has a very Ray Davies feel, where he describes “Sometimes I was a baseball player …sometimes I was a soothsayer.” The simple acoustic arrangements fit perfectly with the electric guitar touches in the chorus. It’s deceptively simple and makes the rebellious rant “Hands on it” amazingly compelling to listen to. Other songs wander along (“Time Wasted,” “Lovely Place”) but always deliver the goods by the time the chorus kicks in. “Chasing A Revelation” is another highlight here with clean riffs and sweet harmonies. This is introspective thinking man’s pop for your ipod’s playlist. https://www.powerpopaholic.com/2009/06/wild-bores-wild-bores.html

Search | Add | 5 | Tim Lothar Petersen | Tim Lothar Petersen | Born in Denmark, Tim started his musical career as a drummer. After 25 years behind his drum kit, he began developing his singing and taught himself to play acoustic guitar in order to explore classic American Delta Blues. Tim Lothar began a whole new career as a solo performer, and very quickly issued his debut-CD, Cut To The Bone, in 2006. The CD received fine reviews at home and abroad. His next release, In It For The Ride (2008), won the award for "Best Danish Blues Album" at Danish Music Awards ( the danish Grammy). Later that year he was also handed another major Danish award: "Blues Artist of the Year" Tim's touring schedule increased, playing festivals and venues all over Europe. His cd, "Stories" is a very personal album, with tales from his life. This album shows a confident, mature songwriter who has found his own style. On stage he is “in the music”. A fine storyteller with deep voice, guitar skills. |

Search | Add | 5 | St. Dennis Male Voice Choir | History of St.Dennis Male Voice Choir by Arnold Best The Choir was formed 1922. The Musical Director was Mr. M. Kessell, he had a boot and shoe repair shop at the bottom of Robartes Rd. One evening he called three or four of us together and we met in his shop, and suggested forming a Choir if enough men could be got together. Each of us promised we would try and create some interest by contacting friends, and others and report to Mr. Kessell the results. Mr. Kessell arranged for a meeting at a Mr. Henwood's Cafe which was at the entrance of Robartes Rd. There were between twenty or thirty men who came; all were interested that a choir should be formed and a choir was born. A Mr. August Greenslade was the pianist/ organist. A. Best was Hon. Sec. and Mr. P. Williams was Treas. Mr.Greenslade later went to Canada, and a Mr. R. Roberts took his job as organist. The choir had thirty-six members and after a time, began to take engagements around the district at various churches. Items were from the "Male Voice Sankey Book" then after a time they included in the programme "Comrades of Hope", "Newquay Fishermen Song", "In Absence, Evening", "Pastoral" etc. Each member used to pay ld or 2d a practice for use of room and music. Practice was Sunday morning from 10.30a.m to 12a.m. Mr. D.W. Giles took over the organ after Mr. R. Roberts owing to ill health. Mr. Kessell had to give up leading the Choir, which broke un for a time. Capt. Hedley Martin reformed it and the Choir went on for a few years, and began going to various Music Festivals, the first attempt was at Delabole, and they were awarded 1st prize. Mr. Melville Coombe became organist under Capt. Martin. The Choir gave their first Radio programme under H. Martin with St. Dennis Band at Foster Hall, Bodmin; it was called "St. Dennis Night". The 1939/1945, war came and the Choir broke up as members were called away. Mr. Stanley Treloar restarted the Choir after the war, he in turn, handed the Choir to his son Harold, Margaret Treloar was pianist. Under Harold the Choir again went on Radio and T.V. Harold went to Canada for a number of years. During his absence, the Choir had various Mus. Directors, among them Mr. A. E. Baker. Under him the Choir won at different Festivals, won the championship of West of England twice at Bournemouth. When he left the county a Mr. Harrison took over, then Mr. R. Polmounter, then Mr. L. Stanaway, Harold came home again and took the Choir and he is the present Musical Director. The Choir has become very popular, numerous concerts are given in the County and outside. Most members are drawn from outside of the village now. In 1975 the Choir made a record "in The Male Voice Mood" with guest soloist Jean Camps (contralto). Already over 3,006 copies have been sold. In 1976 the choir went to Wales and at the International Eisteddfodd at Llangollen was placed 6th out of 18 choirs. St.Dennis Male Voice Choir recently disbanded

Search | Add | 5 | Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra | This profile is only for recordings between 1925-1958. For later recordings, use [a13983661]. In 1925, the Chicago radio station WGN stated broadcasting their radio orchestra. Chicago Philharmonic was basically the house orchestra of the radio station WGN. [a3978074] was musical director of WGN from 1934 to 1958, conducting the orchestra. They played live concerts with guest conductors [a5562949] in 1936, and [a6550564] in 1937. One of their violinists were Orvin A. Sale. Some lathe cut/lacquer discs exist of Leo Sowerby: Symphony No 3/Weber/Chicago PO, from a 1946 performance. That recording is incomplete because the radio station broadcasting the program live cut-off the broadcast on the hour, a few minutes before the symphony concluded. Leo, presumably, paid a recording service to record it off the air. [l731225] released recordings produced by Mercury Records, on mostly red vinylite pressings. These discs were released to "subscribers" of the Sears catalog in early spring/summer 1947. Note that orchestras appears under several aliases and name variants, presumably due to rights issues, sometimes paired with conductor [a696257]. Around 1951, Mercury released a couple of compilation LPs from the Silvertone releases. The orchestra closed down 1956. The Silvertone tracks were compiled and reissued again on Paramount Enterprises' "Hollywood" bargain LP label between 1956 and '58.

Search | Add | 5 | Frankenshred | FRANKENSHRED, formed in late 1996, started out as an instrumental project. The original line-up consisted of Dr. Frankenshred (guitar, known also from COMMANDMENT, as JR3), W.W. Spencer (bass), and Kelly Knight (drums). By June of 1997 FRANKENSHRED recorded a self-titled instrumental album engineered by Michael Vein and released it on cassette. Many positive reviews and a lot of live dates followed, including shows with LYNCH MOB, SACRED REICH and TONY MACALPINE. In October 1998 the band split up due to different personal obligations. At this time the Doctor retained his role as Dr. Frankenshred and joined the shock metal band ST. MADNESS, with whom he performed on "God Bless America" (1998), "Scare The World" (1999) and "We Make Evil Fun" (compilation released in 2003). More live dates followed including shows with KING DIAMOND, FLOTSAM & JETSAM, SACRED REICH, VAN HALEN and at MILWAUKEE METALFEST 12 & 13. In 2000 the original FRANKENSHRED line-up reformed and recorded a follow up instrumental CD called "Evil Shred" that was released on Guitar Nine Records and one year later made available also for downloading through David T. Chastain's Diginet Music label. This recording led to having the song "Igor's Revenge" featured on the 2001 guitar compilation called "Lick This" which also featured guitar shredders Rusty Cooley and Mike Chlasciak. Also in 2001 Dr. Frankenshred recorded another CD, released through Diginet Music label (as a part of the "Guitar Masters" series) which featured Dr. Frankenshred (guitar), David T. Chastain (bass) and Mike Haid (drums). Other guitar shredders were involved in this series, including Gus G. This also led to a live performance at the annual Ibanez Jemfest in Orlando, Florida in 2001. Another CD called "Extreme Solos" was also released in 2001 on the Diginet label, which features guitar solos by Dr. Frankenshred, Joe Stump and David T. Chastain among others. Around this time in 2002, the band tried to add a vocalist to the line-up. Many auditions were held and unfortunately meanwhile the original Frankenshred drummer quit due to not being able to agree on which vocalist to use and what direction to pursue. It wasn't until 2004 that a vocalist and a new drummer were secured. This line-up featured Rich McManus (vocals), Dr. Frankenshred (guitar), W.W. Spencer (bass) and Greg Hall (drums, SACRED REICH). The same year new CD was recorded at Tall Cat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was mixed and mastered in Germany at The Music Factory by Christian Schmid at the recommendation from David T. Chastain. Many live dates followed including shows with METAL CHURCH, GRAVE DIGGER, LIZZY BORDEN, ATOMIC PUNKS, GARY HOEY and JACKYL. By 2006 the singer and bass player quit due to the frustrating state of the music industry. In 2008 a suitable vocal and bass replacements were found. This line-up featured Kyran Brennan (vocals), Dr. Frankenshred (guitar), Robbie Erwin (bass), Greg Hall (drums, SACRED REICH). In 2009 new songs were recorded, mixed and mastered at Tall Cat Studios, Phoenix Arizona. FRANKENSHRED's music caught the interest of Metal On Metal Records, who offered the band to release "Cauldron Of Evil", that is the previously unreleased album from 2004 and 5 songs from the 2009 sessions as bonus tracks. The CD was released in December 2009. As the name suggests, there's plenty of fretboard gymnastics, but it's not just shredding for the sake of shredding. Dr. Frankenshred proves once again that he's also a great composer and chooses to work with some of the best musicians around, which resulted in an album loaded with kickass restless and aggressive songs with lots of hooks - all played on the highest level. Fans of solid traditional US power/speed metal verging on thrash, full of brilliant guitar tactics, should not hesitate to grab "Cauldron Of Evil". During 2009 FRANKENSHRED parted ways with the vocalist Kyran Brennan and, due to his obligations with SACRED REICH, Greg Hall had to leave the band as well. The drum position was quickly taken by Tom Higgins, however the search for the right vocalist continued... Meanwhile the band played several instrumental gigs as well as with a temporary fill-in vocalist, including a show with Y&T and at a gig Metalstock Festival in Arizona. In 2010 Metal On Metal Records decided to make the first 2 instrumental FRANKENSHRED albums available again, however in a digital format (through the new division DigiMetal), due to the lack of space in the release schedule and the fact that instrumental music has a narrower audience. The albums (re-released as "Into The Lab Vol. 1: Frankenshred" and "Into The Lab Vol. 2: Evil Shred" with several bonus tracks) were made available through CD Baby digital distribution in July 2010. These albums are full of dark and heavy, but also fun music by 3 highly skilled musicians (no computer generated drum tracks!) who don't just show how good they are, but can actually compose enjoyable instrumental songs that can appeal also to non-musicians. And most of all they are METAL (rooted in traditional US metal, speed and thrash, in the same style as "Cauldron Of Evil"), contrary to many shredders' albums. (source: http://metal-on-metal.com)

Search | Add | 5 | Garsokatastrofa | Garsokatastrofa was started as a one-man noise project by Tomas (Thromb) in 2006. Same year a split cassette tape with Xtro was released. In January 2007 Tomas and his friend Ženka recorded 11 harsh noise tracks album called "Techno Is Dead". It became the second Garsokatastrofa album and gained some worldwide popularity after it was released on "Smell The Stench" net-label (although 2 tracks on the net-release were excluded from original 11 tracks album). Same year Daniil joined the forces and some material was recorded, but nothing was released except a short excerpt of "Orgasm Of Pain" that was released on the "Smell The Stench" net-compilation. Garsokatastrofa wasn't active until Autumn 2009. In September Tomas and Daniil recorded some new material and in October Tomas together with Ženka also recorded some new stuff and it became the third album called "Psychotherapy". After a few months in March 2010 Tomas and Daniil recorded and released fourth and last Garsokatastrofa album called "Deconstruction". Tomas decided to continue on his own as Thromb. No further recordings of Garsokatastrofa were made.
