Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | The Blue Magnolia Jass Orchestra | Since they were formed in 1968, the eight piece Orchestra have released EP's, LP's, as well as appearing on numerous television shows including a 30 minute feature as part of Granada TV's Music on the Move series. When HRH the Prince of Wales visited Liverpool, the Blue Mags were invited to play for him. The chaps are, of course, widely travelled throughout the UK and Europe. At the Den Bosch festival in Holland, they won the prestigious Band of the Year award in the face of competition from 100 bands all over the world. What makes the Blue Mags so popular is that their style of playing and their uninhibited approach fits in, whatever the occasion. They are constantly in demand for University balls, dinner dances, sports clubs, jazz festivals, weddings, because they are masters at appealing to all age groups. The line up consists of clarinet, trumpet, saxophone and trombone. The rhythm section has drums, piano, banjo and double bass. The chaps will tell you that they are entertainers rather than a 'serious' jazz band and their repertoire supports this view. They claim that jazz is an entertaining and enjoyable music that can be appreciated by everybody. However, let's not underestimate the Blue Mags. You don't win Band of the Year awards and get asked to play at all the major jazz festivals year after year just by producing a happy sound. Nor are recreations of the Morton Hot Peppers and King Oliver classics possible by other than skilled musicians.

The ensemble has become one of Hungary’s most popular and identified jazz orchestras. Search | Add | 5 | Taavi Daft | Taavi Daft is a stage name for a musician who has a unique style and soothing compositions. Taavi discovered his love for music at a young age and began experimenting with different sounds and instruments. Besides guitar and piano, he was particularly fascinated by electronic music with its seemingly endless possibilities. As his talent grew, Taavi began composing and producing music for other artists, and his work quickly gained recognition. However, after a health breakdown, he realised that he needed to change his life and return to nature to slow down the pace of life. This experience inspired him to make music that touches people's souls and helps them find inner peace. Taavi's music has a relaxing and meditative effect that helps listeners escape from everyday life and find themselves. He believes that his music has the power to heal and bring people together. With his music, Taavi wants to reach people's hearts and spread love and positivity.

Search | Add | 5 | Carri-On | Unreleased: The Writings of Now - Full-length - 10 songs - Steve Berka on all instruments - 1996 (before relocating to California and changing direction of the band to more Psychedelic Hard Rock oriented sound). Their last album in the style of "Carri-On", "Symbol" and "Now Unveiled". 1. Generation Gone 2. Real Lies 3. The Writings 4. Took 'Em Out 5. Leningrad 6. Deceived 7. Dying Time 8. Voice of Love 9. Mystery Past 10. Tip of the Iceberg Carri-On was founded in 1989 by Steve Berka, in Danville, Kentucky. In 1990, after solidifying the 3-piece lineup of Steve, Wayne Reidinger, and Josh "Mosh" Howard, the band relocated to the city where Steve was born, Cleveland, Ohio. Once in Cleveland they moved into a 3-bedroom house and began building a home-studio. They soon combined their gear with that of sound engineer (and keyboardist) Dan Mace, and in August 1991 they recorded "Now Unveiled" in the home-studio, recorded and engineered by Mace. They also began playing live shows alongside numerous other bands from the Ohio Metal scene of the era, such as Winters Bane, Mystik, Advocate, Blessed Sickness, Hemlock, Sin-Eater, and several others. A few months after, Wayne then left to join the Military and the band recruited bassist Byron Baker. This lineup continued playing live and later recorded and released the "Carri-On" demo on cassette, and before the end of 1993 they brought the masters of "Carri-On" to Modern Recording Services to have it remixed and cleaned up. The result was the "Carri-On" album released on CD, with much higher production values then any release of theirs to date. In 1994 Josh Mosh moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Steve Berka later recorded a very rare EP and a second full-length of all-new material (Steve on all instruments), the EP called "Symbol" and the album called "The Writings of Now", which he reveres as Carri-On's best work. "The Writings of Now" also marked the first time Berka experimented with a deeper, raspy vocal style mixed with his normal singing style. "Symbol" was professionally pressed onto cassettes, although in extremely small quantities (only about 30 copies were printed). "The Writings...", however, was never released, and shortly after the 1996 recording Steve and Byron re-located to California and formed a new lineup. They also developed a new completely new style that was 70's-influenced Psychedelic/Hard Rock. This lineup released the album "Necessary Evils" in 2001.

Search | Add | 5 | The Verzerrer Schnitzel | THE VERZERRER SCHNITZEL WAS A SCHRAMMEL ROCK QUARTET, FOUNDED IN HILDESHEIM, GERMANY. THE FOUR GUYS RELEASED FOUR ALBUMS BETWEEN 2003-2007. By local accounts these german guys were the second most popular band within the of the big city triangle around Hannover in the early 2000s. Formed in Hildesheim, Niedersachsen, The Verzerrer Schnitzel were a very big deal locally, and not as a teeny bop pretty boys or pop icons, either. The Schnitzels won lots of band battles against rival groups with their Hamburger-School-sound. Eric Lindberg of the Shopmouse remembers the Schnitzels circa 2004. By that time Shopmouse were already the biggest thing going in the nothern states. „The Verzerrer Schnitzel weren't like any of the other club bands in our area at that time“ says Eric. „They weren't funny and they didn't have the steps and routines. But they were really loud and aggressive, and pretty much ahead of their time. Gernot Wöltjen agrees. „A lot of the groups at that time were more into the love songs and pretty notes and we were more into the energy“, says Gernot. Reporters who tried to interview the band often lamented that they „don't care“. Oh - but they did! They cared about their music, they cared about their fans, the people who appreciate their music. But above all, they are honest to the point of insult. When asked to produce a track that they considered „a pretty song“, their answer was simply „No! This is our music, you either like it or you won't“. The Verzerrer Schnitzel split up in 2007 after inking a deal with a major label and you can bet some square producer wound've commanded the guys to tone down their paint-peelin' scorch. -Ron Butterfield- Line-up (2003-2006): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox, bass Simon Begemann - drums Line-up (2007): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox Simon Begemann - drums Sebastian Jüngel - bass

Search | Add | 5 | George Skrbina | George Skrbina was a Croatian American tamburitza muscian. He was born in Pupolica, Croatia (then part of Austria-Hungary) in 1906. As a child he was fascinated with tamburitza music, but being of limited financial means, his interest was nothing more than a dream. Having an agile and very imaginative mind, George devised a means of financing a tambura. He commandeered the services of two very productive chickens, whose eggs he sold. Before long, he had enough money in his treasury to purchase a tambura. He had to walk eight miles to buy it, but he had realized his dream. With this determination and background there was no way George was to be an ordinary tamburas. He practiced every minute he had available and became an outstanding musician. George came to the United States at the tender age of 14 and settled in Youngstown in 1929, where he immediately joined a band consisting of himself, Dave Zupkovich, Steve Belish, Matt Nenkovich, and Pete Vladkovich. His travels took him to Detroit, where he met Steve Pavlekovich and a life-long friendship developed. From here, as his abilities ascended, he went to New York, where he joined the Banat tamburitza band, a premier band at that time. In Youngstown, George formed the Balkan Serenaders, also a top band in that era and locality. George's appearances on TV and radio were many in the Ohio/Pennsylvania area. Over the years George taught many youngsters, including the Markulin brothers, Lou, Steve, and Tony, his son Rudy, and Libby Fill, the female all-time outstanding tamburas. George performed with many outstanding tamburasi. Among them are Steve Pavlekovich, Markulin Brothers, Dave Zupkovich, Johnny Krizancic, Mel Evanovich, Pete Radakovich, Marty Kapugi, and Joe Marmilich. George transposed many of the older songs which were composed in 4/4 or 3/4 time to 2/4 time, which produced a more lively type of music. The transition was very well accepted by many of the top bands in the country. Using the chromatic scale, he introduced to tamburitza the cello, which gave tambura music a much greater depth of tone. This addition to tambura music was accepted by many bands and is being used more and more today. George's contribution did not stop here. It was George who introduced the idea of tamburasi playing in a standing position rather being seated. This innovation permitted the performers to mingle with the audience, which, of course, is enjoyed by music lovers of all nations. Let us not forget that this idea made possible the tamburasi playing at the bar. Where do you see more enjoyment than the competition at the bar for the honor of 'treating' the performers? There are thousands of individuals who were fortunate to have enjoyed this gentleman's countless hours of performing, many times far into the wee hours of the morning. He, in turn, enjoyed nothing more than to see people enjoying his presentations. George's dedication to the preservation and promotion of tambura music certainly warrants his appointment to the Tamburitza Hall of Fame with the many others so honored.

Search | Add | 5 | Moose Malone | Queensland country music band led by veteran guitarist/pedal steel player Jimmy Brelsford, who had been active in bands since 1964, including a period with Bay City Union in 1968, the band began life as a trio "Moose Malone & The Mohairs" in 1975. They soon shortened their name and added players to become a full band, which became very popular in the north. Heavily influenced by the US West Coast scene, most notably Commander Cody, Moose Malone scored a deal with RCA records and recorded one album, and single in 1977. The album was not a huge seller, but it led to them being named Queensland's Best Country Band of the year as well as winning the Tamworth Cup. They then moved to Melbourne in 1978, issuing 2 further non-album singles "Two For The Show" in October of that year and a final one "What are You Doing at the Same Party" in 1979. However they kissed their record deal goodbye after they turned a record company reception for visiting fellow RCA recording artist, John Denver into a riot.
