Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 Orchester Roy Livingstone The Orchestra Roy Livingstone does not seam to have been a stable formation under one conductor or musical director, as identical recordings have also been released from and under the names [a3692711], [a4082987], [a10681873] and [a14437832], so it seems obvious that the name Roy Livingstone was used for performances by different formations in order to establish a brand or recognition value. There is no doubt, that composer, orchestra leader and producer [a1030696] had the main responsibility for these recordings, as he was involved in a significant number of titles as producer and composer, also under various pseudonyms. Other musicians and composers involved were, for example, [a823891], [a443327], [a2057027], [a320184], [a1016199] and [a382410].

Shrouded in mystery with his head hooded, Bloodjoy's one-guitar-sound combines heartfelt and moody vocals, semi-controlled feedback and echo-drenched acoustic guitar loops and beats; a sound which has been described as "Hypnotic...mellow and intense at the same time", while his live performance has been dubbed as one that "quite easily blows most four and five piece epics bands off the stage."

Search Add 7 Diane Marie Kloba Diane Marie Kloba is a Chicago-based singer-guitarist-songwriter who has ploughed a unique furrow, with uncompromising creative integrity, across eight studio albums and numerous shorter recordings, with another two full-length records ready for imminent release. Diane’s music is characterised by its uniqueness, by its sense of difference, although that difference isn’t some kind of self-consciousness exoticism, or a theatrical otherness, or yet the atavistic social transgression that is arguably a facet of all pop-music. Diane’s difference is more a kind of personalised strangeness: it’s the same kind of difference that makes you you, and me me. Her work as a composing musician began in 1997, and since that time Diane has released eight full-length albums, along with many shorter releases and collaborations. In her solo work, Diane plays most of the instruments herself, including guitar, drums, percussion and synthesizers, although other contributors are present on some recordings. Diane has released collaborative recordings with creative musicians around the world in a wide variety of styles, and has received airplay on many radio stations globally. This has enabled her to reach a diverse and appreciative audience, and she has received a lot of positive critical attention. Her songs are sometimes recognisable riffs on the pop song form, and at other times they are overtly experimental, but there is never anything abrasive or ‘difficult’ about them. Across all of her varied releases there is a consistent dedication to presenting the unalloyed truth of her experience within the recognisable format of the song, her many and illuminating creative insights offered to the listener with directness and generosity. She welcomes her audience with warmth and wonder into the capacious dwelling that is her uniquely creative heart.

At the moment he is involved in several projects that often bring him to Italys capitol, Rome, where hes collaborating with the brand new electronic music label Beatperminute. Channelling the recently re-discovered recordings of a seldom heard regional quartet made in 1975, Wermod’s influences range from the avant garde works of Dennys Irving to the eerie soundtrack of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Wermod create electronically altered hauntology tone poems that hark back to the imagined past’s futures which have yet to materialise.

Search Add 7 A Tree On A Hill A tree standing lonely on a hill has been watching the passage of time for centuries A feeling of majesty and confidence, the connection with the sur-roundings and the tranquillity of nature. All these are the sources of inspiration for the tracks of A Tree On A Hill. A tree on a hill exudes a sense of majesty and confidence, a connection with the surroundings and the silence of nature. All of these are the sources of inspiration for the songs of "A Tree On A Hill". The composer consciously takes a step back and let the sounds work for him. Born in the early seventies, the sound artist was mainly influenced by New Wave, Synth Pop and New Romantic. The piano and the classical guitar were replaced by keyboard and sequencer at the end of the eighties. Around the turn of the millennium, he produced several pop songs with various artists. Since 2020, he has been producing, among other things, new age songs in his studio, which are released under the artist name "A Tree On A Hill" and have a strong connection to nature. The first EP released, "Lying Under Trees", conveys the feeling of sitting under trees and feeling the wind blowing through the branches and making the leaves whisper. Each of the four tracks is dedicated to a special group of trees. The EP "Mellow Waves", which was released in the same year, takes the element of water in its various forms as its theme. The basis is the water cycle, which is the origin of all life on earth. From the first drops from the cloudy sky, over streams and rivers to the wide open sea. With the first single "Red Flavia", and the second single "Purple Hydrangea", the beauty of the blossoms follows this year. The blaze of colour awakens when the sun hits the delicate petals after a spring thunderstorm. Each individual blossom is delicate, unique and beautiful.

Good Luck Mountain is Mike Ferrio's response to the shock and grief of that event, and also a fresh start in a new direction. Good Luck Mountain is the name he's adopted for his new band as well as the name of the record; "seasoned players", he calls his new band mates, who include Konrad Meissner from The Silos (with whom Drew Glackin also played) and Matt Mays, once of The Guthries, but there's a host of other players on this album which features music that is carefully built - layers of sound that spring from some synthesiser atmospherics in the background and with changes of emphasis that are characterised by use of strings or horns.

Search Add 7 Giedrius Zinkus Giedrius Zinkus DJ Zinkus, a.k.a. Giedrius Zinkus is a Lithuanian DJ, born on the 20th of August 1969. With a combination of different layers of pop and modern house music, Zinkus creates danceable music that perfectly fits the requirement of any contemporary event. In 1993 Zinkus launched a career as a professional DJ, which resulted in the acclaimed album ‘XX Amžiaus Mėsmalė’ (Twentieth century mincer) in 1995. An experimental release with electronic music that was strongly influenced with the modern classical genre. In 1999 Zinkus decided to take a step back from the music industry and explore other fields of interest. However, his passion for producing and entertaining kept lurking in his mind, and made him decide to realise a comeback in 2011. Older, wiser and with years of experience Zinkus is now producing danceable tracks on a continuous basis. Taking ultimate pop songs (e.g. Michael Jackson, George Michael) and turning them into unique and high-level house tunes. To create an exclusive and diverse vibe during live-performances, Zinkus mixes layers of Jazz, Orchestra, Folk, Middle East instruments and Actor speech into his tracks. A true artist with a high level of musical qualities, passion, and the ability to entertain a crowd; who operates according the principle ‘Party people may never be bored’!

Spiraloff then went on different paths, exploring different horizons with projects such as [anal]Og.sys, The Fauxhemians or Acridspleen. After a long hiatus (almost a decade), Spiraloff was reborn as an Amsterdam-based, two-men band at the end of 2012 and dropped a surprise new track for Xmas day '13 called 'As Long As It takes' for free on their Bandcamp. A new EP called "Born To Write Sad Songs" was released a few months later in February 2013 on NIDALI Records, and later that year the follow-up EP in the "Amsterdam EP's" trilogy "Lonely Ride 7'". The trilogy was completed early 2015 with the release of "Weathered In My Heart". This 4-track EP took almost 7 months to record and produce, and elaborates extensively on the topic on lost relationships. For Record Store Day '15, Spiraloff dropped a surprise new single called "Miles Apart", an experimental, 2-part piece of music opening new sonic horizons for the 2-headed band

Damon Edge claimed in one interview that there was no such person and that they threw the name into credits (for things like "White Noise") as a joke to make it appear there was another person in the group at times. As Oliver Dicicco says, "They played pretty fast and loose with the John Cyborg persona. It was me when we were doing the records, but it could have been anybody."

In the process, he relies primarily on experimentation in the field of post-minimalism, drone, and ambient by working with 4-track cassette tape loops, field recordings, and reel-to-reel tape loops. His pieces are characterized by deep ostinato lines and meandering lush textures permeated with string instruments, pianos, and choirs. For his album “symphony // of // murmurings” which was released by the Netherlands label Slow Tone Collages he collaborated with one of the most prolific experimental artists Lawrence English as a mastering engineer. The second album released in April 2024, "four trembles on an imagined occasion," is the result of intensive exploration of sound and the tools used to create it. Utilizing four-channel cassette loops, a sine wave generator, a handful of pedals, and various instruments with the aid of contact microphones, Overdriven Dreams has crafted a complex tapestry of sound textures and layers. Each song is carefully constructed to convey deep emotions and stimulate the listener's imagination. In a short time, he established himself as one of the currently most active ambient musicians in the Balkan region, above all at numerous performances around Europe, where he shared the stage with well-known artists such as Pan-American (ex-Labradford), Alison Cotton, and Wojciech Rusin.
