Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | The New Gospel Keys | Clarence Clay and William Scott were blind black street singers who sang gospels accompanied only by one accordion (played by Clarence Clay). American researcher Pete Welding discovered them and produced a complete album featuring these two preaching musicians, which was recorded in 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and two years later they recorded another studio album, "The New Gospel Keys", produced by Kenneth S. Goldstein & Pete Welding. Clay and Scott (both born in the 1920's) had been singing and playing on the streets of Philadelphia for thirteen years by the time they were noticed by Pete Welding. Clarence was mostly a self-taught accordionist and once he had somewhat mastered it, he began a career as a wandering minstrel. In his travels throughout the state of Virginia he encountered William, likewise blind and a singer. The two men decided to join forces, and traveled together performing sacred songs for their livelihoods until 1947, when Scott moved to Philadelphia, where he had relatives living. Clay joined him the following year, and after that the pair plied their art on the sidewalks of the city's business district. Generally, Clarence, who accompanies the singing on the accordion, sings lead. He will start off the vocal line of each song, and then will be joined by William, who enters with the harmony line.

Search | Add | 2 | The Northettes | The Northettes were a vocal trio made up of [a293747], [a150887] and [a315251]. Although they are most famous for contributing to [l=Hatfield And The North]’s two studio albums, the first released in January 1974, the girls had sung together in 1971/72 in Dave Stewart & Chris Cutler led Ottawa Music Company which, sadly, left no recorded legacy. Between the Hatfields two albums, they also sang on [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/304008-Egg-2]Egg[/url]’s 1974 album The Civil Surface. After Hatfield And The North broke up, Barbara Gaskin sang in various musical projects like Red Roll On, [a=Bruford] and [a=National Health]. She later formed a successul duo with ex-Hatfield and partner [a=Dave Stewart]. Amanda went on to sing with the earlier line-ups of National Health and made several appearances in other projects involving Dave Stewart, while having a job for television. Ann Rosenthal adandonned her musical activities to work as a business analyst and management consultant. The sound of The Northettes has been described as heavenly and angelic; voices that can lift the spirit and soothe the soul. Their harmonies certainly added new dimension to the music of Hatfield And The North. Their singing on top of the jazz-tinged progressive rock that the band played was unlike anything ever recorded before and still sounds fresh and unique today.

Search | Add | 2 | Alberto Romagnoli | Alberto Romagnoli (born 4 October 1993 in Sansepolcro, Tuscany) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He released his first single Scintille in 2016. His debut EP Vinceremo ancora was released on June 20, 2016, a record full of sounds ranging from folk rock, to alternative up to 60s & 70s rock, with lyrics with strong songwriting connotations, but with the cutting immediacy of indie. Subsequently, on June 30, the music video of Scintille was released, directed by Low Party Prod. on a conceptual idea of Alberto himself. The video, with dark and dreamlike features, also made with the use of vintage films, creates a sort of inner chaos by depicting the words of the lyrics, touching on themes such as nostalgia, lack and pain. Alberto grew up listening to Bob Dylan. One of the first albums he listened to was Blonde On Blonde (1966). He also cites John Lennon, The Beatles, Tame Impala, Timber Timbre and Verdena as influences.

She gained wide popularity after she started recording vines - short humorous videos. Nika is also known for a rare physiological phenomenon - heterochromia: she has one blue-gray eye and the other brown, but this effect makes a successful blogger even more attractive to the audience. In 2018 she began to host the “Шоу выходного дня” on СТС TV channel. In the fall of 2019 the channel awarded her as the best TV hostess. In the same year she took part in the famous Fort Boyard show. |

Nach einer ersten Zusammenarbeit entstand die erste Veröffentlichung „The Annerly EP“ mit den Titeln „Be my Baby“, „Summer in your eyes“, „Take me to your heaven“ und „Maybe Maybe Maybe“. |

In fact, most of the tunes were smash hits in their time...a time when jazz was close to being the popular music of the day. Charts were made by transcribing from 78 rpm records.

Search | Add | 2 | Adolfo Doring | Adolfo Doring is an award-winning American documentary filmmaker and director of music videos. Doring came to New York City in the mid-eighties to study Sociology at Columbia University, then interned for Rock and Roll photographer Joel Brodsky. Doring began his film career in middle school when he started using Super 8 film to make small documentaries as a way to avoid term papers. The combination of his photographic skills and well-developed understanding of cinematic language led him to an early career in cinematography. Adolfo was Director of Photography for the classic grunge music videos for Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Republic of Loose, Screaming Trees, Stone Temple Pilots, while also flying back east to work in the hip hop world (Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Naz, Redman). Doring's first directing job for Atlantic Records was for heavy metal group Testament. It led to direct music videos for artists including Sting, Savage Garden, Bon Jovi, Vanessa Mae, Hootie and the Blowfish, Gin Blossoms, The Dixie Chicks, Diana Krall and Del Amitri amongst others. In 1994 Doring won an MTV Video Music Award for the Hootie and the Blowfish single, "Hold My Hand", and directed the video for the band's next single, "Let Her Cry", which was that year's most played video. He was nominated by the MVPA for Best Country Video for The Dixie Chicks' "You Were Mine".

Search | Add | 2 | Fog Lamp | Fog Lamp, the avant-garde synth-punk trio hailing from Oakland, continues to carve out their niche in the local music scene with their boundary-pushing sound. Their latest album, "Anxious Stargazing," released on The Bucket Records, showcases their refusal to adhere to conventional norms. Opting for a drum machine over a traditional drummer, Fog Lamp challenges expectations at every turn. Their sophomore LP follows the success of their debut, "Conversation?," which introduced the world to their discordant arrangements and introspective lyrics. Since then, the band has gained traction within the Bay Area punk scene, playing memorable shows in unconventional spaces like vintage clothing stores, infusing their performances with a unique DIY energy. Their latest single and accompanying music video, "You Prove Yourself Wrong," is a testament to their genre-defying approach. Drawing from influences ranging from cyberpunk to darkwave to goth, the video is a visually-striking journey into surrealism. Directed by Paul Abueg-Igaz and Niki Selken, it merges live footage of Fog Lamp's intense performances with technicolor imagery, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. As Fog Lamp prepares for a Southern California mini-tour, their commitment to authenticity remains steadfast. Comprising Aaron on vocals, Leslie on synthesizers, and Adam on guitar and drum machines, the trio continues to push the boundaries of their sound, captivating audiences with their haunting and dystopian sonic landscapes. Their music, described as "packed with timeless dark synth anthems" by the White Crate Bay Area Music Blog, appeals to both seasoned goth enthusiasts and newcomers alike. With nods to influences like Big Black, Killing Joke, and Gary Numan, Fog Lamp's music resonates with those drawn to the darker side of the musical spectrum.

Search | Add | 2 | La'verne Washington | LaVerne has dedicated her life to the arts in every possible way. As an artist herself but also behind the scenes, helping and supporting her contemporaries fulfil their callings. Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Mary Lou Williams - LaVerne grew up in Kansas City listening to the all time jazz greats, and soon discovered she was blessed with a keen sense for playing music by ear, playing the piano to what she would hear on the radio. In her teens whilst the 60s transitioned to the 70s’ disco and funk era, LaVerne was there to witness it all, and she would go on to study music at the Charlie Parker Academy where she was inspired to become an entertainer. At Langston University, LaVerne kept studying music where her career blossomed, founding and touring the US with the gospel group “Emery Shaw and the Voices of Praise”, singing in several college bands and with her choir “The Voices Of Bethel”. LaVerne would go on to perform notably with her bands “LaVerne Washington and Rococo” and the “LaVerne Washington Quartet”, and record several songs in KC including “The Promise” and “I Found What I’ve Been Searching For” in 1984 before moving to Washington DC. In DC, LaVerne was offered a position as a Program specialist with the National Endowment For The Arts where she started supporting other artists through her work. Over the next couple decades, LaVerne became an associate producer for the Rhythm and Blues Foundation and the Pioneer Awards Ceremonies held in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, which saw the likes of Prince, Aretha Franklin and Jerry Butler attending among others. She has also managed and was mentored by DeeDee Sharp and consulted with artists including Bonnie Raitt (who acted as a mentor to Laverne as well), Kim Weston, Kathy Sledge (SisterSledge), Smokey Robinson and G.C Cameron (Spinners). Search | Add | 2 | Saadoun Al-Bayati | Saadoun Al-Bayati, born in Baghdad, Iraq, is the son of an ardhahalchi or paralegal fluent in Arabic, Turkish and Kurdish and a Sufi woman of the Na'imiyya order. As a child, while attending Sufi rituals and ceremonies with his mother and maternal uncle, Shaykh Jasim Abd al-Sittar, Saadoun was exposed to the meditative states produced through sustained percussion and vocalizing. His voice training took place through Qur'anic recitation in which fine precision in achieving correct tones and articulation of words in required. As a young man, Saadoun often substituted for the muezzin at his neighborhood mosque in the Al-Fadhl section of Old Baghdad, calling Muslims to prayer. Having internalized the spiritual essence of a Middle Eastern/Islamic aesthetic, Saadoun has performed the music of Iraq and other parts of the Arab Middle East since childhood. In the United States Saadoun pursued studies in acting and graduated from the Goodman Theatre at the Art Institute of Chicago. His many accomplishments as an actor included playing Dr. Aziz to Lillian Gish's Mrs. Moore in "A Passage to India" and working with such theatrical talents as Morris Carnovsky in "Mother Courage" and "King Lear "and Sam Wanamaker in "MacBeth." But throughout his life and studies, music has been a focal point for his intense musical energies. Saadoun thus decided to learn the oud or unfretted version of the lute, initially to better understand the musical structures of Middle Eastern music - specifically the maqamat or modal structures, with their distinct ascending and descending scales - and eventually to provide a reliable support for his singing voice (not easy, when one has perfect pitch). Saadoun was fortunate to be able to learn from close personal friends such as the pre-eminent Nubian musician Hamza El-Din, the Lebanese musician George Khayyat, and the Syrian oud-player Hussny El-Zaim. He has performed at concerts and night clubs in many parts of the United States. Saadoun's unique musical expression emanates from the depth of his soul and transcends all geographical boundaries. A voice that stirs profound emotions and a technique that is at once powerful and sensuous represent the highest level of artistic expression." (From his website) Songs of Iraq was arranged and performed entirely by Saadoun Al-Bayati in 1973.

Search | Add | 2 | Bo Balderson | During the years 1968-1990, the pen-name Bo Balderson published eleven detective novels. The quality of the detective mysteries can be said to be average, but the easy and elegant style, the farcical action, the witty metafors and the wicked satire upon Swedish politics and cultural life resulted in great selling successes. Over the years, more than eighty different persons were pointed out as the author, but the identity of Balderson has never been revealed nor convincingly clarified. One of the main ideas has been that the author was a conservative person with some relation to Swedish politics or political administration. However, no thorough comparative analysis has ever been carried out wich sets out to relate Balderson's works to these of any other author.
