Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Camera Fiend James Shearman Camera Fiend is a twenty-something boy from London making songs. His voice has a uniquely ethereal quality, which speaks to one’s soul in a most unreserved, heartfelt manner. Indeed, his insightful wizardry; mixing noise, guitar, voice, electronic and lo-fi recording methods (which create electrifyingly melancholic cracks), creates a captivating musical concoction which envelops one in an air of sombre majesty, ascending with ecstatic radiance to a higher plane of consciousness.

Search Add 4 Suthun Boy The nineties gave birth to a revolution of crunk music propelled in part by the Iconz release of Get Crunked Up. A huge smash in the streets, the song established Iconz as an internationally recognized brand in todays hip-hop music scene while driving the STREET MONEY album to debut at number 10 on Billboard Magazines Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart . After a long hiatus, a discussion with Iconz label head, Fentz, reveals the companys plans to set the streets on fire in 2006. With great confidence, Fentz proclaims; We have discovered a hit artist. The streets cannot be lied to, says Fentz, in this game, if the streets dont feel you, theres no winning. Our new artist, SUTHUN BOY is a natural star and hes soon to be the darling of the industry and the streets. In one meeting, it becomes clear why SUTHUN BOY is the designated flagship talent of Iconz Artist & Music. He is a man of few but powerful words. With his intriguing demeanor and humble spirit, Suthun Boy is no average rapper. He comes across like a philosopher, readily expounding upon life and its many facets. A devoted husband and father, Suthun Boy speaks candidly of his love and plans for his family. He wears the hallmark of a prophet unashamedly sharing his faith like an activist ready to stand up for what he believes in regardless of the personal cost. While hes no stranger to serving beat downs and hustles on the street, Suthun Boy demonstrates a great deal of spirituality, always attributing his successes to God. When asked about his feelings towards representing a brand that some consider tainted, Suthun Boy states; I thank the Lord for blessing me with the confidence to represent myself before a label. Thats where artists go wrong. They hide behind their labels. A company cant connect you with the streets. A label can open some doors, but the way the streets feel about you is in our own hands and in Gods hands. As the name suggests, Suthun Boys debut album, GHETTO MUSIC is inspired by and created for the ghetto. In his words; this album is for my ghetto people; people raised in the projects by their grand-mama daddies not around; people that get harassed and abused by crooked cops but live just long enough to watch those cops get promoted to higher ranks and get higher pay; all those hurt but blessed people. I see myself leading a flock into a revolution thats going to heal and change every ghetto with my gifts. Many rap artists transition from music to films. Like the late Tupac Shakur, Suthun Boy is launching his acting career simultaneously with his music career. Noted for his chilling portrayal of Koke, the loyal henchman of a powerful drug lord, in the Falcon Films/Twentieth Century Fox movie entitled BLOODLINE, Suthun Boy is already a double-edged sword

Search Add 4 Masanobu Ikemiya MASANOBU IKEMIYA Classical pianist, ragtime afficionado, peace activist, organic farmer. Masanobu Ikemiya was born in China to Japanese parents, grew up in Kyoto and Kansas, and was educated at Oberlin College Conservatory and Indiana University, and has received world-wide attention for his many concerts throughout Japan, Mexico, Argentina, Taiwan, Cambodia, Philippines, Bulgaria, El Salvador, the former Soviet Union, Portugal, Brazil, Guam, Hawaii, India, Korea, Canada, and the United States. In 1972, he came to Maine to join the Zen Buddhist Monastery in Surry where he was a practicing monk for 10 years. In 1980, he founded the Arcady Music Festival, of which he was the artistic director for 24 years. Many of you may have had the opportunity to attend some of his performances, or have seen or heard him on Public Television or Public Radio. Mr. Ikemiya developed an interest in American ragtime music while volunteering at a homeless shelter started by Mother Teresa in Harlem. He has made 5 ragtime CD’s and was nominated for a Grammy Award for the album, “Ragtime Classics” in 1994. He certainly has given “new life” to this American Art Form. Since 1995, he has toured annually in Japan with members of the New York Philharmonic and with the New York Ragtime Orchestra of which he is the founder-leader-pianist. He also appeared with them at the 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration at the United Nations and received an award from the UN for promoting world peace through music. Mr. Ikemiya has appeared in solo recitals at New York’s Lincoln Center and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., and other venues. With the invitation from Peace & Justice Center of Maine, Mr. Ikemiya has honored the anniversaries of Hiroshima by giving concerts in memory of the bomb victims and to promote peace in our world. The Philharmonic Society of Kaugan, Russia, presented Mr. Ikemiya with an Honorary Certificate for strengthening the friendship between Siberian and American people through music. In addition, Mr. Ikemiya received an Official Recognition Award from the Maine State Senate for his “contribution to the cultural life of the state.” He has stated that he and his wife Tomoko are presently trying to simplify their lives. They are enjoying a self-sustaining life style with organic farming at their permaculture homestead with a passive solar house on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Mr. Ikemiya’s teacher was the late Frank Glazer, who he considers to be the most life changing influence on his piano playing. Ragtime Audiences’ enthusiasm for his ragtime performances, led Ikemiya to found the New York Ragtime Orchestra in 1995. Ikemiya is credited with introducing ragtime to Japan, and tours the country with his orchestra regularly, recently performing at the Osaka Dome for 47,000 people. He is frequently invited to perform at various ragtime festivals include the Scott Joplin Festival (Sedalia, Missouri) and has recorded seven ragtime albums including “Ragtime Classics”. Artistic Director During his 24 years as Artistic Director of the Arcady Music Festival (which he founded in 1980), Ikemiya had to opportunity to bring artists of incredible diversity and talent from around the world to the scenic coastal towns of Northern Maine. In 1990 he brought the St. Petersburg Boys choir to the festival to perform with a local children's choir which formed powerful bonds in the wake of the Cold War. His work for Arcady was featured on CBS Sunday Morning and he received an award from the Maine State Senate for his “contribution to the cultural life of the state.” Peace Activist In recognition of the peacemaking quality of his work, Ikemiya has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards. He was given an award by the United Nations for “Promoting World Peace”; the Philharmonic Society of Krugan, Siberia, presented Mr. Ikemiya with an Honorary Certificate for strengthening the friendship between Siberian and American people through music. Ikemiya is invited annually by the Peace & Justice Center of Eastern Maine to give a concert on the anniversary of Hiroshima in memory of the bomb victims and to promote a message of peace. Background Ikemiya was born in China to Japanese parents, grew up in Kyoto and then later moved with his family to Kansas. He studied at Oberlin Conservatory (B.M.) and Indiana University (M.M.). He lives with his wife on Mount Desert Island, Maine in a passive solar house where they enjoy organic farming on their permaculture homestead, volunteer work and music. Search Add 4 Checo Tohomaso Checo Tohomaso's Bio Music Director, Checo Tohomaso, brings a wealth of musical experience to the Vancouver Outreach Community Sweet Soul Gospel Choir (VOC). Born in Florida, and raised in Hawaii as well as Okinawa Japan, he has entertained with many notable performers throughout his career. Checo was honoured to play keyboards, percussion and sing background vocals for the last European tour of Motown legend, Marvin Gaye. As a keyboard player and background vocalist for the Green Machine, the band providing the sound for The Commodores and Lionel Ritchie, he continued to tour the world extensively until Expo '86 brought Checo to Vancouver. Checo’s musical journey began in early childhood where his first performances were as a member of a church choir. The son of an African-American Christian mother and Peruvian/African-American Jewish father, Checo grew up surrounded by different styles of ethnic music. When asked how his passion for Gospel music began, Checo points out “ninety per cent of American Soul, R&B, and Jazz singers have their musical foundation singing Gospel music in the church and I was heavily influenced by those artists at a very early age”. Following Expo ’86, Checo toured the Canadian school system exposing youth to ethnic and soul music. In addition, he worked extensively with the First Nations population to provide positive motivation, from the perspective of a person of colour, and deliver messages of staying in school, staying off drugs, and racial tolerance. Checo’s current focus is to communicate the positive, healing qualities of soul music to as many people as possible. He notes, “at home, everyone sings Gospel and the spirit and culture are strong. People in Vancouver are longing for real music and my goal is to bring it!” In order to achieve his goal of "bringing soul to the city", Checo also coaches soul, R&B, gospel and light jazz-style vocals, and teaches both keyboards and bass to students from across the lower mainland.

Search Add 4 Sen-Sei Nathan Uhlir Sen-Sei, a native to Brooklyn ,N.Y., started his musical career at age five. After 13 years of studying classical music, Sen-Sei had mastered the finer elements of piano playing. A demonstration of his musical talent was seen at Carnegie Hall in 1989. In the following two years, Sen-Sei found himself in and out of bands that ranged in funk, jazz, and top 40 of the time. Problem was, he couldn’t find the type of music that really moved him. After relocating to San Francisco in 1991, Sen-Sei experienced his first underground house party, dancing to the beats of DJ’s Dutch, Carlos, and MoonPup. From that moment on, it was clear that dance music was the true love for Sen-Sei. Sen-Sei's ingenious talent lies in his ability to take electronic music production out of the sterile recording studio and into the lives of the fans by creating the music real-time, on-stage. He has teamed with well-known DJs world-wide to create a cutting-edge infusion of sound. When he is not performing, Sen-Sei is creating music for CD, vinyl, television, and movie.

Search Add 4 Dusty Watt Dr Allan Charles Watt Dusty Watt (real name Dr Allan Charles Watt) joined the NZ Army Territorial Reserve Force in 1978 and 1980 transferred to the Regular Force. He served a total time of 17 1/2 years combined service in the Regular and Reserve Forces. He further served with the NZ Police as a sworn officer for around 9 years. After which he attended University and completed numerous qualifications, the highest being a PhD in Forensic Computing. What does this have to do with the music? Nothing, but as the writer of this album it is worth a mention. At age 12 whilst attending the early years of high school, with a group of others attended guitar lessons and soon realised he had a natural aptitude for the instrument. Apart from a few talent quests in his younger years and the odd Karaoke appearance, until now has never written any music or performed on a stage as a musician. Inspired by his maternal Grandfather Phillip Charles McBarron, who was shot and wounded in the fields of the Somme in August 1918, in 2014 Dusty commenced writing songs in commemoration of the 100 years of the ANZACs involvement in the Great War. He wrote the tunes and lyrics for all the songs on the album “The Ghost of the Somme”. After this he ventured into a new era, this time recording his own songs and the album “The Dusty Trail” and it is slowly developing. I hope you enjoy my music.

Tim Norrgrann is best known as the co-founder, composer, occasional lyricist, lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the Finnish-Canadian hard rockers Forth. Co-writing some of their most memorable songs, Tim is building a reputation of writing songs that are melodic, beautiful, powerful and yet easy listening. Tim started playing guitar early on, but switched to bass in the early 2000’s and joined two bands of different musical styles; the pop rock band Beneath the Bed and the progressive rock band Ethereal. Tim switched back to lead guitar after joining the hard rock band Naked Idol in 2008. Continuing his musical adventures Tim picked up the bass again and recorded the bass guitar for the song 'Voittaja' by Kultakypärä. The song 'Voittaja' was the 2010 theme song for Fintoto (horse racing in Finland). In august 2010 Tim picked up the guitar once again and formed The Roc with Canadian vocalist Brian Forth. A few years later the band changed its name, at the suggestion of Tim, to Forth. Up until today, Forth has released three albums; the debut album "Road Stories" (2014), the sophomore album "Captivity" (2019) and the newly released third album "Forth" (2021). Now the musical adventures of Tim Norrgrann continue alongside of Forth as the solo artist Gtarzee.

Search Add 4 Skandinavia Skandinavia Upon hearing of a new band formed by ex-Bellatrix singer/songer Eliza Newman and featuring former Crashland bassist Martin Maddaford, your correspondent became all misty-eyed, recalling the halcyon days when being ‘indie’ involved dancing to the Evening Session and getting ink smudges from glossy copies of the Melody Maker (sniff). Far from being a Class of 2000 alt.pop supergroup (Fierce Panda contingent), Skandinavia are actually embracers of Rawk Music and duly have the riffery to prove it. New single 'Never Too Late' comes on like a slab of early ‘90s power metal, with layered wailing vocals, soaring violin and thumping bass, but without the ‘ironic’ factor that could have them labelled as a typical ‘post-Darkness’ band (even though Dan Hawkins once played guitar for them). Meanwhile B-side 'Storm' is reminiscent of 'Pablo Honey'-era Radiohead given more oomph, dusted with string accompaniment and replacing Thom for PJ Harvey. Plus the lyrical content is said to concern Nordic mythology, which is a far cry from singing about Star Wars fanatics and wetting yourself in front of potential boyfriends. Stormy, mystical and highly enjoyable Iceland rock it is, then. Vocals, Violin – Eliza Newman Bass – Martin Maddaford Drums – Dave Collinder Guitar – Claire Wakeman

Search Add 4 Plain White Toast Plain White Toast was a Cleveland-based hard-edged/art band primarily active from 1987-1990. Their major influences at the time were: The Cure, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Hüsker Dü, Sisters of Mercy, New Order, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Loop, etc. Founders Brad Hackley (guitar) and Moz (vocals) formed the outfit in early 1986 along with Ron Hazeloop (bass) and Scott Wolf (drums). Again, Mike Brady occasionally augmented the band on keyboards. PWT continued to gig; in addition to local shows, they performed in Chicago (Zsar Bar), Murfreesboro, TN (in some hole-in-the-wall near Middle Tennessee State University) and New York City (CBGB's!). Their final EP November Twister was also recorded during this time at Magnetic North Recording. Drummer Silickas departed from the band in October 1991, thus ending an era. Brad and Dave continued the band for a short time after…
