Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 J. F. Nelson Third-person alias of [a95466], that he used when writing the foreword and afterword in the "Those were the days" book. About the origins of the name, Marian supposedly said: "Some say, his full name is jonathan frederik nelson, others insist on jordan franklin nelson and others call him jefferey ferdinand nixon. reportedly he established the so called 'nelson project' at the end of the seventies that later became alphaville. his identity is a mystery. and it will continue to be. on 'afternoons in utopia' they described his function as 'spiritual light(n)ing', later on he appeared as an 'illuminator'. in the lyrics of 'lies' (forever young) and 'lassie come home' (afternoons in utopia) he was some kind of visitor, and maybe in some other songs as well. The album of Serge Gainsbourg called 'Histoire de Melody Nelson' seems to deal with his person. Around 1984 he disappeared. On 'dreamscapes' he was mentioned being a traveller, but his current residence seems to be out of this world."

Search Add 7 Oystein Yngve Oystein Yngve Øystein Yngve is an artist associated with the underground Anticosma movement, known for combining experimental soundscapes with themes drawn from esoteric and alternative philosophies. He began his musical activities in 2009 with a solo project focused on creating atmospheric and conceptually driven works, often exploring unconventional sonic territories. Yngve’s music is characterized by minimalistic structures, dark ambient textures, and thematic references to philosophical and mystical ideas. Rather than pursuing mainstream exposure, he has consistently concentrated on producing recordings that reflect his personal artistic vision. His influences include the teachings of Nocthylianis Ukunta and elements of the Wombaia current, which inform both the conceptual and aesthetic aspects of his work.

Search Add 7 Kevin Grunill Kevin was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1972 and had shown an interest in all matters of a musical nature at an early age. However, it was not until the age of twelve that he began to learn the electronic organ as his chosen instrument. At the age of sixteen, Kevin began to take an interest in the sound of the mighty theatre organ and it was a natural musical progression that he should begin to study this type of instrument, for which he developed a different playing style to that of his electronic organ performances. It was not long after this that Kevin began performing concerts throughout the country, featuring both electronic and theatre organs.

Their first releases was with a strong flavor of industrial/experimental music and with political and social contents. With the first official Cd Immaterial (Death Paradise Production) the sound is radically changed to minimalist instrumentals ice-cold glitches with the tracks titles (begins with Ideal and ends with Idol) to form a path that blends the denial of the matter as a product's form and against the institutionalized art. The rare live-set exhibitions of Plastic Violence at the time was made to realize a noisy background to claustrophic multimedia happenings, helped also by other occasional collaborators. Then, in 2005, Francesca left Plastic Violence but Fabrizio has continued under the moniker with various compilation tracks and creating sonorizations for theatrical/art installation . In 2006, the year of the dog in the chinese calendar, Plastic Violence has released a monthly singles club on 3"cd-r ,The Dog Series (Death Paradise Production), each single in strictly limited hand-numbered edition of 50 copies. With these realises Plastic Violence has expanded the musical range to explore different directions. From the 11th issue of The Dog Series, Plastic Violence returns to be a duo with the adding of Marco Ricci as guitarist and singer .

Search Add 7 Ривущие Струны Roaeing Strings (Ривущие Струны, sometimes stylized as RИVUЩИЕ STRUNЫ) is a Russian experimental noise-rock band, formed in 2006 by Vova Terekh, Lyosha Bortnichuk and Raf Badretdinov. Strings are playing noisy and energetic songs with provocative bastardized lyrics, inspired by the 60s psychedelia, garage rock and classic Detroit bands like [a=MC5], [a=The Stooges], etc. The sound and artistic image is based on the composite character of an underground Soviet punk band of the 1980s, banned and repressed by the authorities. Terekh started playing punk at the end of the 1980s when he formed Khlam in Bryansk. After playing for a few years, Vladimir began producing other groups, including [a=Distemper (2)] and Mister Twister, and also worked as a tour manager for Matrossskaya Tishina. After an over 10-year hiatus, he decided to reunite Khlam with a new line-up, including famous avant-garde sax player Sergey Letov and jazz drummer Rafkhat Badretdinov. After one of the shows, Raf and Terekh met Alexei Bortnichuk. They decided to form a new side project and started rehearsing at the warehouse of Otdelenie VYHOD label, with Oleg Kovriga as unofficial producer. In 2006, Roaeing Strings recorded their debut [r=3246499] in just five hours. After releasing their second album Mascow Elctrc Guitars Mazzacre Parrt #1 (1970), the band invited Alexei Borisov to join, one of the pioneers of industrial and experimental music in USSR and founder of Notchnoi Prospekt. Praised by Russian critics and warmly welcomed by the audience at their numerous concerts in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, Strings played as an [a=Iggy Pop] warm-up at Б1 Maximum in 2007. They were also featured as special guests on the presentation of new A.K. Troitsky book. Search Add 7 William S. Walker William Stearns Walker Composer-arranger William "Bill" Stearns Walker (b. 1917 in River Forest, Illinois, USA d. March 27, 1994 in River Forest, Illinois, USA) wrote the music and produced the soundtrack for thousands of radio and television jingles and commercials. Among the products his music promoted were A&W root beer, Wrigley chewing gum, Green Giant vegetables, Sunbeam appliances and Chevrolet cars. Mr. Walker graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School and Amherst College. He served in the Pacific during World War II. While studying at the Chicago Conservatory of Music from 1945 to 1948, he was a pianist-arranger for the [a=Wayne King] and [a=Ted Weems] Orchestras. He was staff pianist for WGN from 1950 to 1954 and later played with his own band at the Ambassador East's Pump Room. Walker has written the words and music for over fifty published pop and country songs, some of which have been recorded by [a=Peggy Lee], [a=Johnny Desmond], [a=Gordon MacRae], [a=Dean Martin] and [a=Homer And Jethro]. He founded Bill Walker Musical Productions in 1953. In 1953, he started his own company. Bill Walker Musical Productions, Inc. He composed and/or arranged the music, and, in some cases, the lyrics, for over 1,000 soundtracks for radio and television commercials, industrial, documentary and feature films. The commercials have been for Chevrolet, Plymouth, Dodge, Mercury, Oldsmobile, and Ford of Canada as well as many well-known products in fields such as cosmetics, beers, cigarettes, airlines, and household goods. Walker wrote the music for 12 national award-winning commercials and films and won the Grand Prix de la Television in Venice, Italy for the best spot in thf world for that year. The product was Chevrolet. He composed, arranged and produced all the music for the award-winning [l=Bergstrom Paper] Company album, [r=2390117], in which he converted the rhythms of printing presses to music. The album is now a collector's item. Walker composed, arranged and produced all the music for the feature film, Little Laura and Big John, starring [a=Karen Black] and [a=Fabian Forte]. Walker also composed a musical setting for "The Gettysburg Address" and a symphonic fantasy, "Return to Shenandoah," both of which were recorded by baritone [a=Sherrill Milnes]. In the mid-1950s, Mr. Walker purchased and moved into one of the most famous and beautiful of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes, the 1893 Winslow House in River Forest. There have only been five owners in its 120 year-old history. A note signed by Wright is in the Walker family library, simply stating to Bill Walker, "Take good care of it." Peter Walker, who is handling the estate for his family said his mother kept the home in pristine condition up until her death earlier this year, and preserving its history and character has been a great source of pride for his family. Peter Walker, Bill Walker's son, was quoted as saying, “My father loved Frank Lloyd Wright and wanted to own one of his houses. My mother June, a war bride from Australia, took meticulous care of the house.” June S. Walker, Bill's wife, died on April 12, 2013.

He is both a musician, graphic and 3D artist with numerous works under his belt, mostly pertaining to what he's currently working on. Harlow has put out five albums under various names as well as seven EP's over the course of his career since 2017. Leuchtend started after the disbandment of Echelon Anthracite, feeling that it was time to move on and push out what Harlow felt was a "completed work" he considered most of Echelon to be no more than unfinished songs and demos compiled into albums and used it as a framework for his first album Golden Hours. The LP featured numerous songs and ideas spanning the course of his career as both a solo artist and a bandmate in Nomad. Later on that year he would release his first physical pressing and maxi-single titled Socotra, which was a very different style from his previous endeavor and would precede his second release, slated for the next year.

Search Add 7 The European Jazz Youth Orchestra The European Jazz Youth Orchestra, or EJYO in short (1998 to 2004, and 2006 to 2007), was an annual jazz big band project initiated by [a8206619] and [a702232], organised by the Danish-based organization [l1932768] and continued as [a4920628] (EJO) (2005 + 2008 to 2013) - all supported by the EU-Commission. In 2005 the European Broadcasting Union, EBU (the world wide network of jazz producers from the National Public Radio stations) joined the project and the EBU Big Band (see [a10348339]) and Swinging Europe/EJYO were merged, forming what became known as the EBU-European Jazz Orchestra. The forerunner of EJYO was the 1996 project [a1339635]. The project Each year a new conductor and new composers were chosen and a band was formed by selected young jazz artists from the European countries.
