Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Metterle immigrated to the United States in 1906 and served in the US Army between April 30, 1918 and February 20, 1919, rising to Musician 3rd Class and playing the sousaphone in a Coast Guard band. During basic training in the 152nd Depot Brigade, one of his fellow buglers was Irving Berlin, and Metterle liked to tell the story that Berlin's famous song "Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning" (1918) was inspired by their group practicing the call to reveille. Led German bands in New York City between the 1910s and 1940s. In 1933, Metterle opened the Old Seidelburg restaurant on 626 Third Avenue, between 40th & 41st Streets, in New York City, which was described as a favorite dining and drinking spot for notables and newspapermen.

Search Add 7 Israel Sardiñas Wilfredo Israel Sardiñas Domínguez Birth: Oct. 16, 1949,Alturas de Canasí Death: Jul. 2, 2006,Miami Born in Alturas de Canasí (a town located halfway between Havana and Matanzas) and raised in the Cuban capital, the vocalist/bassist/arranger/composer Wilfredo Israel Sardiñas Domínguez initiated his professional career in 1975, playing bass with a group led by pianist Meme Solas, who must be credited for discovering Israel's diverse vocal qualities, including his powerful timbre, passionate delivery, stylistic versatility, and amazing improvisational skills. Israel Sardiñas joined Los Van Van in 1980. During his three years with Van Van he sang hits such as "Seis Semanas", "Vine a Verte", "Hoy Que Quieres de Mi". In 1983 he left the band during a tour of Mexico and later he moved to Miami. He was replaced in Los Van van by Mayito El Flaco who was then replaced by Mayito Rivera. It is clear that Formell was looking for singers with a similar timer and syle to fill the void left by Israel Sardiñas's departure. It is also interesting to note that César "Pupy" Pedroso hired Pepito Gómez who interpreted "Seis semanas" for Los Que Son Son and has the same type of brilliant timbre as Israel Sardiñas Influenced by Benny Moré, Raúl Planas and other Cuban legends, Israel paid his dues with Los Reyes '73 (a popular Van Van spin-off), Iresón, Neosón and other … Mr. Israel Sardiñas was regarded as one of the best soneros (a singer of the Cuban musical style known as son) of recent decades. "When he came on the scene [in the late '70s], other singers copied him," said influential Latin bandleader Juan Pablo Torres in a 1997 … He changed his name to Israel Kantor in 1984 in New York City, on the suggestion of Puerto Rican musician Johnny Pacheco. The atmosphere of Miami in the 1980's was not receptive to modern Cuban music preferring salsa romantica or "salsa nostalgica" such as covers of Benny More and Arsenio Rodríguez. Israel Sardiñas's attempts to create a new music style were not successful but he did find success singing traditional Cuban music with his voz de sonero. In 2003 Israel Sardiñas became a member of The Tropicana All Star Orchestra, which was nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards for their albums "Recuerda a Benny More" and "Tradicion". a tribute to Benny Moré and other traditional songs. The band was very successful with it's show that included dancers á la tropicana. Israel Sardiñas was one of very few modern singers truly capable of interpreting Benny Moré with an authentic sonero flavor. Israel Sardiñas also performed with Fania and the legend says that it was Hector Lavoe that gave him the nickname "El Cantor" which he then took to be his artist name "Kantor". Group:Tropicana All Stars, Los Van Van, Los Yakos,Conjunto Rumbavana,NeoSon Cause of Death: Cancer: MIAMI (AP) - Israel Sardiñas, the Cuban musician who was part of the Grammy-winning Tropicana All Stars orchestra, died Saturday of cancer, his publicist said Sunday. He was 56. Israel Sardiñas died at his southwest Miami home, according to a statement from publicist F & F Media Corp.

Search Add 7 Bass Astral X Igo Bass Astral x Igo tworzą producent Kuba Tracz i wokalista Igor Walaszek. W 2016 roku zadebiutowali krążkiem „Discobolus”, a w marcu ubiegłego roku wyruszyli w trasę, by promować drugą płytę - „Orell”. Latem zespół zagrał na największych polskich festiwalach, m.in. Open'erFestival, Audioriver, Kraków Live Festival, OFF Festival.

Search Add 7 Good Luck Mountain Clark Mills, New York Mike Ferrio's previous band, the much-feted Tandy, came to an end with the untimely death of his musical partner Drew Glackin. Good Luck Mountain is Mike Ferrio's response to the shock and grief of that event, and also a fresh start in a new direction. Good Luck Mountain is the name he's adopted for his new band as well as the name of the record; "seasoned players", he calls his new band mates, who include Konrad Meissner from The Silos (with whom Drew Glackin also played) and Matt Mays, once of The Guthries, but there's a host of other players on this album which features music that is carefully built - layers of sound that spring from some synthesiser atmospherics in the background and with changes of emphasis that are characterised by use of strings or horns.

Search Add 7 Joey Largent With dreams of the dissolution of time and ultimate reunion with nature, Joey Largent examines bodies of harmonic overtones and wave-like drones through his work with a variety of instruments. Without limitations by genre, Largent’s work has its origins in styles ranging from harsh noise to Greek Rebetiko to Protestant hymns to Romanian Lăutărească. He seeks a middle space, integrating site-specific field recording with microtonal tunings and conceptual findings from Sufism and Buddhist literature in agnostic attempts to translate context, spiritual glimpses, nature, and compassion into musical experience. Largent’s ongoing practices include developing eternal duration compositions for acoustic ensembles, custom instrument design and alteration, and performing music for Butoh. His work is greatly inspired by and draws from a rich history of acoustic experimental music, studying with La Monte Young, Rose Okada, and Michael Harrison — all disciples of the late vocal master Pandit Pran Nath. Largent continues to study both Indian Classical Khyal gayaki in the Kirana tradition, and Dhrupad rudra veena and voice in the Dagar tradition. He is currently based between Seattle and Port Townsend, Washington.

Search Add 7 Lowball Jack Jack Friederichsen It all started with a fascination for rare records located deep in Texas pawnshop cut out bins. It came together one late afternoon at a back o’ town chicken ‘n’ whatever joint called Ludie Mae’s. A knife-wielding patron jumped into the open door of a long, black, early ’70′s oldsmobile. He was looking for cash and trouble. He demanded to know what the hell was on the numerous crazy-looking, home-brewed cassette tapes scattered across the dashboard. His shiny blade waved and danced all around the front seat. The front door of the joint busted open. A man in dark glasses and long dreadlocks came out walking fast with a cocked revolver in his hand. Gold teeth gleamed as he ordered the problem patron out of the car. With a quick gesture, two of Mr. Johnson’s boys hauled the freak out the window, and tossed him hard into the road. Mr. Johnson explained that life was bad for everyone, but this was his place. Something had to be done. He spoke with the cool and poise of a shaman as he slid his piece back into his waistband. All this took place in slow motion while throbalicious, deep fried grooves pulsated across the chicken shack’s rough gravel parking lot with a tremendous low-end thump. The world seemed… full of possibility. Some of it… even good. LOWBALL JACK (a.k.a. Jack Sprat), [Deceased and we are eternally bummed but so happy to have made music and history together] soaked up the heavy beats and twangy accents emanating from his native Texas/Louisiana border, and rode them all the way to the Big Nipple. He’s screwed lids on bleach bottles, hawked snake oil to rich people, managed some folk’s fortunes and other’s addictions to take the listener on journeys ranging from trip hop to monster fuzz to the cosmic American funk of “ALL JONES NO BUZZ“, “URBAN NOISE DIRTY POISON“, “PHOTO NEGATIVE“, and “BUG“. His fresh new EP, “UNDERBELLY” is covered with illicit downtown dirt. You can also find Jack playing guitar and co-producing Thirsty artists WITHERIN’ JOHNSON (“AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON”), PARTY APES (“ERASE YOUR TAPES“) and LOS CONFABULATORS (“‘SUP “). He co-produced KELVYN BELL‘s ridiculously funky new “CUBED ROOT CURE” as well as the stripped down “ST. LOUIS BLU: KELVYN BELL PLAYS ACOUSTIC GUITAR” and the avant electric jazz monsterpiece, “FUNK 4 WHA CHA KNOW“. Jack also produced QUEEN ESTHER‘s acclaimed debut slice of Black Americana, “TALKIN’ FISHBOWL BLUES“. Follow LOWBALL JACK on SoundCloud Contact: information@thirstyrecords.com

Search Add 7 John L. Cyborg Oliver Dicicco Per Dicicco, he engineered circa Red Exposure and may have appeared in some photos as a droog, and introduced the Stench/Hanes brothers to Chrome. He suggests that Chrome also used the Cyborg name loosely, which is also evident in the appearance of Tommy L. Cyborg on more recent Chrome related releases. Damon Edge claimed in one interview that there was no such person and that they threw the name into credits (for things like "White Noise") as a joke to make it appear there was another person in the group at times. As Oliver Dicicco says, "They played pretty fast and loose with the John Cyborg persona. It was me when we were doing the records, but it could have been anybody."

Wkrótce do wojska odszedł lider, a nowym basistą grupy został Zbigniew Antoszewski. W takim składzie kwintet Big Beat Sextet trafił latem do Szczecina, gdzie dał swe ostatnie koncerty, przekształcając się w Tajfuny.

Search Add 7 Charlie McClendon Charles Ruben McClendon Charlie McClendon was born in 1928 in Barnsville, Georgia, USA. He was drafted into the army in 1953. He completed his basic training just as the Korean War was coming to an end. He was stationed in France and Germany and served out his final tour of duty at Fort Eustis in Newport News, Virginia. In addition to his work with the Magnificents, Charlie was often hired to back up larger national acts that performed in the area. Because of its location and vital music scene, Norfolk was often the starting point for the various R&B package tours that traveled throughout the South. Charlie backed up the likes of Otis Redding, Solomon Burke, and others. Later, after joining the Goodwill Gospel Church, Charlie has ceased singing R&B music and turned his attention exclusively to gospel. His first gospel group was the Sounds of Glory. He later started a new band, Charlie McClendon and the New Beginnings. Owner of [l799001].

Search Add 7 Cavan Grogan Cavan John Grogan CAVAN GROGAN (February 18, 1949 – February 15, 2020) Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers (also known as Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers, Crazy Cavan "N" The Rhythm Rockers, Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers) are a Teddy Boy band from South Wales. The band formed in 1970, and has still been actively touring and recording. The band appeared in the 1980 film Blue Suede Shoes which detailed the revival of 1950s rock 'n' roll music scene at the time. The first incarnation of the band was formed in 1964 by Cavan Grogan (vocals), Lyndon Needs (lead guitar) and Terry Walley (rhythm guitar) under the name "Count Dracula and the Vampires". In 1968, joined by Brian Thomas (piano) and Don Kinsella (bass), they took the name "The Sundogs" which they borrowed from Alan Freed who was known as "Moondog" and combined it with their taste for Sun Records, a label which they used to buy at that time. Then in 1970, with the addition of Mike Coffey (drums), they took the name "Crazy Cavan 'n' the Rhythm Rockers", a name which has endured. In 1973, the band formed its own record label, Crazy Rhythm Records (named after their own description of their music) and released their debut single, "Teddy Boy Boogie" (backed with "Bop Little Baby"). In 1975 they released their first album Crazy Rhythm on the Dutch Rockhouse label. In 1976, they signed with Charly Records in the UK, and released their second album, Rockability.
