Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Mauro Bolognini | Mauro Bolognini (28 June 1922 - 14 May 2001) was an Italian film director of literate sensibility, known for masterful handling of period subject matter. Mauro Bolognini was born in Pistoia, Tuscany. A former architectural student, Bolognini began his film career as an assistant to director Luigi Zampa in Italy, and directors Yves Allegret and Jean Delannoy in France. He began directing his own feature films in the mid 1950s, and had his first international success with Gli innamorati ("Wild Love"). His other notable films of the 1950s and early 1960s include Giovani mariti ("Young Husbands"), La notte brava, La giornata balorda ("From a Roman Balcony"), and the Marcello Mastroianni-Claudia Cardinale starrer Il bell'Antonio (arguably his masterpiece), all written by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Parting professionally with Pasolini in 1961, Bolognini went on to direct two sensual love stories starring Cardinale, La Viaccia and Senilità, before turning his talents to a series of international anthology films, including Le bambole (The Dolls), I tre volti ("Three Faces of a Woman"), Le fate ("The Queens") and Le streghe (The Witches).

Search | Add | 2 | Aileé Zaga | Aileé Guerra Aréizaga | Aileé Zaga [I-leh Saga] is an independent artist, songwriter, and music producer based in British Columbia, Canada. Her sound is influenced by a wide spectrum of genres, ranging from classical music and various sub-genres of rock and metal to electronic music. She creates a balance between memorable pop melodies and experimental sounds and structures. Industrial and glitch-infused beats enveloped in ethereal soundscapes are a staple of her productions. Somber guitars often juxtapose with dreamy vocal harmonies, all fused in an intricate blend of styles that accompanies her mezzo-soprano vocals. Her contemplative lyrics frequently explore the topics of life, love, and death through the lens of her experiences as a woman and an immigrant. |

They started in The Esplanade Hotel, St. Kilda, front bar at 3.30pm playing covers of Massive Attack, Lou Reed, Groove Armada, Led Zeppelin, Spearhead, sitting on stools. Further on, they were playing the last two sets standing and eventually the stools gave way to full commitment to the job. Greg Ham played sax with the group until his death in 2012. Between 2011-2015 they were alternating between Nudist/Nude Funk Orchestra, finally settling for Nude Funk Orchestra sometime in 2015. Search | Add | 2 | The Stillsouls | Based in NYC and upstate New York The Stillsouls are brothers John and Cody Melville, Joel B. Cannon, Jesse Bryson and Steve Mostyn. Their sound is a blend of rock, soul and glam, a collision of Bowie, Mott, Tom Petty and the melodies of the motor city. A look back perhaps, but definitely a fresh and contemporary take on their influences. Formally the Cody Melville Band, their 2018 release “Bonds Eye” was very well received with great reviews, most notably from American Songwriter and the Huffington Post. Aquarian Magazine declared them one of the top ten bands to see live in New York City in 2019. Their latest album “Half Drunk Preacher” slated to be released this summer features a video of their single “Local Honey”.

Met B-Fine aka [a=Brian George] of [a=Full Force], when she was 14, outside a club called The Funhouse in New York. She was asked to be in [a=UTFO]'s "Roxanne,Roxanne" music video and a few weeks later, received a call from Full Force requesting an audition for the part of Roxanne. The audition was not for the video but to record and perform as their Roxanne. She got the part and was given the title The Real Roxanne. Due to a conflict of interest she left Select Records and was FORCED in to early retirement. Elease incorporated her personal style to embody what she felt her character of The Real Roxanne should look like. Her look included a name belt and a black tam hat. Alternating between a mini skirt and tight jeans coupled with sweaters or a fur vest. |

In 2014 recorded self-titled album made up of a couple of sessions recorded in the jam room. Ended in 2015. Skye Klein (2020): "About 6 years ago I used to travel to the city every Monday night, and we would gather for this ritual of experimentation / self-flagellation. I played the drums, long time friends & collaborators Marcus and George played bass and guitar. It was rare that I did not end up with multiple wounds (self inflicted) In the end we had to put a stop to it, it was becoming detrimental to our own health and that of those around us." Lineup: Skye Klein - drums, vocals Marcus Fogarty - bass, vocals George Hatzigeorgiou - guitar

Search | Add | 2 | Catastrophe Theory | Catastrophe Theory was formed in the early 1980's by high school friends Jowi Taylor, Gordon Nicholson and Bob Esplin as an experimental basement group using tape loops, crude electronics, found objects, handmade and conventional instruments. Jowi and Gordon reformed the group in 1984 and began recording the first cassette, Debris (1985) which went to #31 on the CKLN Top 100 of 1985. Through the nascent fanzine and international community-radio network, Debris went on to critical success at independent radio stations and magazines in cities from Chicago to Stockholm. The second release, Day Rides a Tiger (1986) introduced samplers into the studio palette and resulted in even greater success locally, nationally and internationally. The cassette finished at #1 on the cassette chart at CKLN in 1987 and reached # 8 in the overall Top 100. In 1989, music from Day Rides a Tiger and additional new music was used in the documentary film The Iconoclast: The Images of Richard Slye by Michael Connelly and Malcolm Harris. The documentary aired in Canada on TVO, TFO, VisionTV, Knowledge Network and other cable services as well as PBS affiliates in the United States. In 1993, Catastrophe Theory was commissioned by Harbourfront Centre in Toronto to compose original music for the Canada Day celebrations. The project was a collaboration with the pyrotechnic firm Perfomance Pyrotechnics Associates of Toronto and St. Louis. The resulting piece, Fire:Work debuted before an estimated audience of 10,000 to rave reviews on July 1st, 1993. Jowi and Gordon's reputation for sporadic collaborative creative outbursts has meant a bare trickle since 1993. The latest single, ThunderPrint was in development for approximately three years before being released on an Impact Magazine sampler in 1995. (taken from http://www3.sympatico.ca/e-jowi/cas.html)
