Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Leonardo Vela R. | Leonardo Vela Rodríguez | Peruvian guitarist and band leader born in Tabalozos, Lamas. When he was still a child he moved to Moyobamba where he then began to accompany with the tumbas or maracas a group called Los Electros, whose owner was César Jiménez and the members Pablo Vásquez (lead guitar) Manuel Linares (bass), Francisco Ruíz (tumbas), Resurrection Ruíz (drums) and Celín Vásquez (singer). Later Francisco Ruíz left Los Electros to form his group called Los Duendes with Juan García (bass), Resurrección Ruíz (timbales) and Leonardo Vela (lead guitar). At the end of 1973, the group Los Génesis was formed in Rioja under the direction of Pedro Rojas (second guitar) with Walter Paima (bass), Charlemagne Díaz (drums), Hernán Ortiz (tumbas) and Juan Díaz Salazar (vocals). Since they needed a first guitar and composer, they went to Moyobamba to incorporate Leonardo, who was replaced in Los Duendes by Crox Alvarado. In the mid-seventies they go to Lima to record their first full length for the label [l590237] but they can't record as Los Génesis because there was already another band with that name, so they changed to Siglo XX. After the group disbanded, Leonardo and Pedro Rojas moved to Moyobamba and incorporated musicians Alejandro Angulo (timbales), Alfonso Mori (bass), Víctor Villacorta (tumbas) and Walter Arévalo (voice). On this trip to Lima, the owner of the Volcán invites Leonardo to stay and work at the record company but the job in the record company does not satisfy him and so he returns to Moyobamba to join the Grupo Arco Iris by Javier Puerta with Jorge del Águila (bass), Alejandro Angulo (timbales), Víctor Villacorta (tumbas) , Ernesto Ríos (vocals) and Walter Arévalo (vocals). Towards the end of the 1970s Jorge Franco Prado contacted Leonardo to relaunch the Lima group Los Reales del Perú with musicians from Lima and Moyobamba: Alfonso Rojas (first and second guitar), Jorge del Águila (bass), Guillermo Alvarado (timpani) and Eduardo Vizconde (vocals). In 1980 Leonardo went alone to Lima and recorded two small albums with his own compositions for the label [l1799240]. For these productions he takes the name of Los Reales de Moyobamba, even if the truth is that he was the only one present and the label completed the group with local musicians. After this, Leonardo is encouraged to form his own group, for this he leaves Los Reales, where Alfonso Rojas permanently takes on the first guitar and the task of composing, Guillermo Alvarado leaves to form the Grupo Atlantic. In the early eighties Leonardo recorded his first opera as Sonido Verde de Moyobamba, the group incorporates Carlos Córdova (second guitar), Leoncio Vásquez (bass), Marcial Rojas (timbales) and Abner Carbajal (singer), the latter two from Los Rangers de Moyobamba. |

Lotfi and Waheb are both from the city of Annaba, in Algeria and the DJ of the group was Chergui Zine-eddine alias Zino. The consecration of the two rappers came through their lyrics which reflected the feelings buried deep in the minds of a marginalized youth. The group has released seven albums, Lotfi and Waheb being the songwriters, arrangers & performers of their own works. In 2000, the group did split (on good terms though, Waheb moved to France). | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Wilson Danilo | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus, or simply Wilson Danilo, Born in Salvador, Bahia, died in 2013, on the eve of his 100th birthday, he was a radio / announcer, presenter, singer and composer. Owner of an extensive and accurate vocabulary, besides the powerful voice, he began his career in 1942, in Rio de Janeiro, as speaker of the speaker system known at the time as "bell mouth". At this same period he recorded his first work as a singer. A 78 rpm disc with the songs "A Canção de Friburgo (The Song of Friburgo)", of Antônio Caetano, and "Palhaço da Vida (Life's Clown) ", of César Cruz. Since then, he recorded several discs, among 78 rotations, singles, double singles and CDs. Danilo played tangos, boleros and MPB classics with impressive mastery. He alone gave the impression that there was an orchestra on the stage. In 1957, the illustrious character moved to Governador Valadares, in the eastern part of Minas Gerais, where he worked on "Mundo Melhor", "Educadora" and "Ibituruna" (the only three AM stations in the city at the time). In these radio stations, nowadays practically dead, Danilo did everything: he was a helper, a janitor, a sound engineer, an advertising salesman, a presenter and a director. In his popular program, he had one of the largest audiences ever in the region. He began the presentation of the hour with phrases and verses of his own. Something like: "Beautiful girl / from my city / my love for you / I want your happiness / my love / my good will ...". In the early sixties he recorded in a compact of 78 rotations the Afro drum "Só o ôme", written by the Bahia composer Edenal Rodrigues, also played by Noriel Vilella, from the legendary group Nilo Amaro & the Ebony Singers. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Carolina Fasulo | Carolina María Fasulo Kemper | Carola was an exceptional singer, she gave life to each song she performed, vocalizing both strong and subtle songs equally well. She told [a1227150] her story in a 1996 interview: “I always sang, since I was little. The first thing I did was study Spanish dances, play the castanets and hit the shoes while dancing. I loved rock n´roll, which at that time was a half forbidden thing. " Then Carola discovered what it was to compose songs "in a rocker sense", in her own words. “The two composers that influenced me the most were [a1263448] and [a1006851]. Precisely, everything I did in Damas Negras has to do with that poetics. And is that Carola was not improvised, in addition to composing beautiful lyrics, had a great formal musical training and knew how to play the guitar. He also had the possibility of working side by side with an extremely talented musician like [a1678587], who officiated as an arranger, companion and musical director. In 1973, through the Harvest label, Carola published a single with the songs "The Night Journey" and "Eva estirpe terrena" accompanied by [a945590]. That same year he recorded in the Phonalex studios what would be his only solo album: Damas Negras. Published through the Talent label, which was currently directed by [a516809]. Also, the album featured the participation of various musicians such as [a1539219], [a1750869], [a6170712], [a2298016], [a1006850], among others. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Ulrich Ristau | Ulrich Ristau, born in 1948, studied the Oboe in Dortmund and Cologne and after that for 6 years headed a music school. During this time he took extra-occupational harmonica lessons from Helmuth Herold in the harmonica world capital Trossingen (Germany) and developed a concept for an elementary music education, based on the harmonica and Orff instruments. He has been teaching this method at the music school Hannover since 1980. From his work at the music school developed the Carl-Orff-Ensemble, which uses Orff Schulwerk instruments (chromatic glockenspiels, xylophones, metallophones, chime bars, from soprano to bass) and additionally chromatic harmonicas, recorders and other instruments, if ensemble members play any (e.g. violin, saxophone, drum set). From the beginning there was a close relationship to SONOR, because Ulrich Ristau received the crucial impulse for his work in 1982 during a workshop of IGMF (International Society for music pedagogical training), which had been founded by SONOR. Concert tours followed, the furthest led the ensemble to Korea, as well as CD and video recordings. It was a special honor when in 1995 Lieselotte Orff, the famous composers widow and a supporter of the Orff Schulwerk approach, allowed the group to carry the name "Carl-Orff-Ensemble", which was bound to Ulrich Ristau being the conductor. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Bill Agle | My love of acoustic music started in the high country of North Carolina. Being left handed I taught myself how to play upside down. I was 17 years old when I got my hands on a brand-new Martin D-18, later a D-35 and finally an N-20. I never looked back or wanted other guitars. I still record and play live with the same guitars. I seemed destined to meet great musicians and others involved in music. During my years in college in the North Carolina mountains, I came to know some very talented people, many of whom are now life-long friends I do appreciate everyone’s support so much. It has been a long and costly road to re-obtain the publishing rights to my music, bring three past projects to CD, and at the same time record new music while working on the studio. You have no idea how much I appreciate the musicians and engineers who have surrounded me and have lifted me up to a better sound. I am now looking forward to the next project. Enjoy! Bill | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Rob Benzing | In the world of bluegrass these days, tradition and innovation are gradually falling into the hands of a younger, very talented generation. Rob Benzing is an outstanding example of why that should happen. He fell in love with the bluegrass sound when he was a kid, listening to and learning from the greats—Don Reno and Earl Scruggs—and was playing the banjo by the time he was ten. Now he’s found his ground, stepping out with a project that demonstrates a full command of the instrument and the wide range of tunes—both classic and progressive-- that go with it. He’s assembled a sparkling constellation of fellow artists to showcase his abilities and theirs: Danny Knicely on guitar; Taylor Baker on mandolin; Mark Schatz on bass; fiddler Patrick McAvinue; vocalists/ instrumentalists Jacob and Joey Mosley, Scott Brannon, and Tom Mindte. Benzing shows his mastery of bluegrass banjo licks in hard-driving classics like Reno tunes Dixie Breakdown, and Sockeye, and Scruggs’ Lonesome Road Blues; handily tackles some less-than-standard chord progressions in the quirky Armadillo Breakdown; balances meter and melody on The Bells of St Mary’s; and shows what a banjo can do in back-up as well as solo in vocal standards No Longer a Sweetheart of Mine, Have You Come to Say Goodbye? and It’s Only Right That I Should Pay. He comfortably finds a modal groove to underscore the lyrics in the melancholy Lonesome River and Jacob Mosley’s haunting Carry Me. But that’s not all--Benzing has included two of his own compositions, to excellent effect: Monocacy Crossing flows across the frets from low to high with echoes of swing; Fingerboard Road, as the name suggests, is fast, light and deft, producing a sound both inventive and as old as the hills. Benzing hails from Maryland and travels all around to traditional music gatherings, clubs and festivals where he is fast gaining a reputation as a banjo adept who can hang in with a new tune and give it that good old feeling, or add a new twist to a familiar classic. On this CD he has concocted a rich musical sampling: a little bit of Reno, a little bit of Scruggs, and a whole lot of Benzing. | |
