Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | János Decsényi | János Decsényi was born in 1927 in Budapest. He studied piano under Magda Vásárhelyi and composition under Rezső Sugár at Conservatory and graduated from Endre Szervánszky’s composition department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. Since 1951 he has been on the staff of Hungarian Radio’s Music Department. His works display his intense interest in other art forms and the classics. His works are, on the one hand, oriented towards the material: they test out many different instruments and several technical possibilities inherent in them – he carefully designs his compositions to fit the instruments. However, he also strives to achieve in them an emphatically beautiful sound and characteristic tonal colourings. These two principles are juxtaposed in his works: the micro-structures are arranged within the whole so that their own, independent existence does not hinder and actually promotes the appearance of major surfaces of sound. The pieces that primarily depict colours and moods, are at deeper levels constructed according to a strict principle, not a single bar of the great colour patches being left as random simultaneities of sound. (Anna Tóth, notes to Hungaroton SLPX 12122)

Search | Add | 4 | Hiding Inside Victims | HIDINGINSIDEVICTIMS | Hiding Inside Victims was a Crust/Hardcore Punk band from the Los Angeles/Ventura County California area. The band began late 2008 with home recordings and jam sessions with Joaquin (vocals/drums) and Joe (vocals/guitar). Both previously had been singers in separate disbanded street punk bands, Initial Distrust and U.S.Brats. In 2009 the band played their first show at the Infest Warehouse in Los Angeles. After a series of shows in the Southern California area the band decided to look for a bassist and took Mike (BlisterUnit/Want but Mari) vocalist and guitarist for the spot. After set of shows Mike had a mutual parting from the band for his other career and musical endeavors. The band began again to search for another bassist and this time a second guitarist and found guitarist Chris (Schismism, The Last Priority) and bassist Ryan "Ratboy" (Throat Cancer). Founding member Joe left the band in 2011. The band completed their first Western U.S. tour with Dutch punk band Suicide State in May 2011 coinciding with a split release by the two bands which was released in the U.S. and Europe. |

Search | Add | 4 | Anna Koka 5 Ägg Jag Är Värd I Huset | This band was formed in 1970 with members from Helsingborg and Lomma. In 1975 the band rented a studio in Malmö and recorded an album. 300 copies were pressed and independently distributed, consisting of fourteen folk-inspired songs with humorous lyrics sung in Swedish. The home-made feeling is prominent and the recording sounds like an unlikely mixture of Philemon Arthur & the Dung and Love Explosion, but with better musicianship. The band performed live about ten times between 1973 and 1976 with Nationalteatern, Norrbottens Järn and others. They recorded their self-released album in Malmö in the summer of 1975. Anna Koka 5 Ägg were active for many years, starting out as early as in 1970. Gigs were rare, but they made a couple of shows sharing the bill with a couple of bigger progg acts in the mid 70's. They reunited at least once, for the local Röstånga festival in 2007. The album was originally released in an edition of 300 copies, but was made available briefly as a CD-R reissue through the band's now defunct website. Band members: Rolf Svensson (vocals, guitar, banjo) Christian Gustavsson (vocals, percussion) Mats Svensson (vocals, guitar, banjo) Leif Magnusson (guitar) Mats Nilsson (guitar) Lennart Remgard (keyboards, percussion) Håkan Turesson (clarinet) Ulf Westerberg (bass) Håkan Berg (flute) Lars Sunding (bass) Percy Hultberg (drums)

In the 60’s there was a growing interest in folk music from other countries. Prestige Records who had made its mark presenting some of the greats of the jazz world, decided to create a label dedicated to international folk music. Pola Chapelle was asked by Kenny Goldstein, a producer at Prestige International, to record an LP of folksongs that would be representative of all the provinces of Italy and in as many dialects. Rooted in her enthusiasm for the music and language of Italy, she accepted the opportunity to express in song some of the love she had for the people and the land. |

Search | Add | 4 | One Cent Left | After [a=99¢ Special] came to an end, [a=Exit (22)] began writing new music which was opposite of his previous writing in the industrial genre. Instead of programming music, he went analog and hands on with any instrument he could acquire. The resulting works have been building up in various states of completion, and span a period from about 2004 to current. With no genre targets, the music produced for One Cent Left varies greatly in style. At present, there are at least 3 albums worth of songs awaiting being completed, and new songs being written for a 4th album. Given that it's been over 15 years since writing and recording began, a collection of demos have been released simply to establish the works without further delay. "[r=13209054]" was released on February 11th, 2019 as an introduction to One Cent Left, showcasing the newest to oldest completed demos.

Search | Add | 4 | And The Wiremen | And The Wiremen was formed around 2010 at a studio in the middle of swamp just north of New Orleans. New York-based composer Lynn Wright had gathered a group of musicians––among them his then principal collaborator Sparklehorse’s Paul Watson and bassist Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, etc.) ––to record songs he had written for other singers. Early in the proceedings, the engineer refused to continue working unless Wright sang them himself. He agreed. Between 2010 and early 2016 And The Wiremen recording an eponymous album, the EP Send Me Low, and a single Caged Bird with a multi-generational, genre-crossing gaggle of musicians. When so inclined and their usual musical duties allowed, they would do short tours of the US and Europe, and then disappear from whence they came. In 2016 the band went on hiatus following Watson’s premature retirement from music due to worsening symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Wright went back to composing for dance and film, performing with various free-improvisation and new music ensembles, and released an album with Swan’s guitarist Norman Westberg and former Swans/Foetus bassist Algis Kizys under the moniker This Is Where. The band reconvened at the end of 2019 for series of shows in New York. With their new album Night Cracks Harbor, slated for a fall 2020 release, the on again/off again project becomes a more focused band, helmed by Wright with violinist Simon Goff serving as co-producer and arranger. The nourish jazz tendencies that were prominent on their early recordings are less obvious, and the music falls somewhere between a post-rock iteration of early Roxy Music and the fringes of PJ Harvey’s more recent work. As Always, it is really a sound of their own, no matter how familiar it may seem.

Throughout the bands history, the genre's of the band has included but not limited to: Ambient, Industrial, Electronica, Techno, Rock, New Age and Classical. The band was first started by Brother and Sister duo Sean and Sheri Graves. The only constant member of the band has been Sean Graves. Between 2000-2004 the project released local demos of electronic sounds. Which saw a gradual change in writing style and genres. 2005's Conscience album was the first full length to be release on the internet and feature Sean Graves as vocalist of the band. Two singles were later released from the album on to the internet. "I was given a chance to live my dream since I was 16 and working on P.O.'s first album. I had facilities at schools and colleges. There were studios, theaters and videos to work on my craft and figure out weather I enjoyed the performance or the production side." Between 2006 - 2010 multiple albums were released, "Nos Mortuus" dubed as the project's most dark ambient album. "Insomniac People" was more electronic and industrial. The "Equilibrium" album featured the voice of Sean and Sheri's father throughout the album. 2011-2012 A revamp of PostOmnis began when Sean Graves enlisted into the United States Navy. While writing music for the band he had also traveled across the world searching for new sounds. New band members including Lor, Talios Wing, and Kevin (Guitar Guy). "After taking a long time off from working on the project. It feels really good to talk to people of like minds. People who can hear the music and take it to another world. The project has grown, I'm very comfortable with the new music and it's really exciting to be working again on the craft." |

After numerous music productions during more than 10 years in the dark techno / minimal branch with the Badgers (Creepy Finger Rec, Plankton Repellent, Momentum League, Killing Machine Rec. and many more) Joel decides to make a solo project to explore the another creative side of his personality, deeper and funkier. “Nasty Preacher” is the new born of this choice. “Nasty” was how some people portrayed the music his influences. “Preacher” is a nod to James Brown. Search | Add | 4 | Kaysn | Kay Friese | Kaysn is a musical all-rounder with a unique electro sound. Behind the artist persona is the 41-year-old Hamburg-based Kay Friese, who has been pursuing his passion as a bass player, guitarist and background singer in various bands and genres since the mid-1990s. Significantly influenced by the Nu Jazz of Herbie Hancock and the sound design of Roland Voss, aka Lemongrass, Kaysn has created his own style, which combines melodic and chilled soundscapes with hip-hop beats, slow chord sequences and samples - sometimes catchy, sometimes experimental. This is complemented by cuts and scratches by his long-time companion DJ Plattitude, who runs the Islelaidback Sound studio with his partner Christian Niquet and is also responsible for the mix & mastering of Kaysn's music. The fruits of the collaboration were first manifested in 2017 on the EP "Freisemester", which was released on Stresslos Records. In 2018 the next EP followed with “Dream of a Bird”, from which the single “Girl from Uranus” was decoupled. In addition, Kaysn produced several remixes for the alternative band Access: Icarus. |

Search | Add | 4 | Khanada | Khanada is the solo project of Andy K. Smith, former frontman for the Post Punk band, Peeling Grey. After a three year absence from the local music scene, Andy Smith returns with new material. Khanada is a continuation of the direction of his former project, while breaking new ground and creating a sound of its own. This effort will feature not only the results of time spent alone, but also collaborations from across the spectrum. As opposed to committing to album releases from previous endeavors, Khanada is a singles based project. New songs will be released regularly, sometimes weeks after their completion. One of the goals of this project is to bring the listener closer to the point of inspiration of songwriting. Album releases are great, but they can be a long and drawn out process. Over time, from the initial spark to mastering, certain elements of a song can change. Hence, a singles schedule may retain some more of that genesis. That's just one of the things that will set Khanada apart from the past

Search | Add | 4 | Golden Staters | Barbershop Harmony Society's 1972 International Quartet Champion. First organized in 1960 with Jack Lang on tenor, Joe Rook on lead, Buddy Yarnell on baritone, and Mike Senter on bass. Mike Senter organized the group and was the musical arranger of the quartet. In 1961, personnel changes began and Joe Sipots replaced Joe Rook as lead. A year later, brothers, Gary and Jack Harding joined as tenor and baritone. Lead number three, Jim Meehan, then joined them in 1963. The Golden Staters began competing in 1962 and won the fall Far Western District championship in 1963. They qualified for their first international contest and came in 7th place. They came in 6th place in 1965. Following the 1965 international contest, Jim Meehan left the quartet. After Jim Meehan left the quartet, Ken Ludwick joined as the new lead and they began their contest climb. They rose to 4th place bronze medalists in 1966. They slipped back into 5th in 1967 but jumped up to 3rd in 1968. During this time, they released their first record entitled, “Oh How We Roared In The 20’s.” In 1969, they were awarded with 2nd place silver medals, then tragedy struck. Ken Ludwick was involved in an automobile accident which forced him to have to leave the quartet. They sat out the 1970 international contest hoping to find a new lead. In late 1970, the Golden Staters found their new lead, Milt Christensen. Milt Christensen came to the Golden Staters from the recently disbanded “Salt Flats”, a comedy quartet from Salt Lake City, Utah. They placed 3rd with Milt in 1971. They finally won it all in 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia. They released their second album following their championship which was titled, “Two Sides Two Sounds.” The Golden Staters retired in 1975. They came out of retirement in 1978 and performed again until May of 1979 when Mike Senter suddenly died at age 39. Jack Harding died in 2003 at age 71 and Milt Christensen died in 2018 at age 86. Today only Gary Harding survives. They released two compilation albums after their active years.

Search | Add | 4 | Toyboat Toyboat Toyboat | toyboat toyboat toyboat | toyboat toyboat toyboat is a popular jazz–punk ensemble from Portland, OR, in the United States. The band's music is simultaneously heavy, danceable, and provocatively unusual. Reviewers have described it as “Sun Ra meets Devo,” “Miles meets Fugazi,” and “Afrobeat meets the Melvins.” Jonathan Boober's review for allmusic.com claimed “if Raymond Scott, Martin Denny and Bootsy Collins decided to form a band at Ennio Morricone’s house, it might sound something like toyboat toyboat toyboat.” Travis Henderson plays electric trumpet reminiscent of Bitches Brew-era Miles. The rare photoreactive synthesizer, The Drum Buddy, invented by New Orleans' Mr. Quintron, is symmetrically matched with drum set and electric bass. Despite befuddling journalists' efforts to categorize their aesthetic, the combo have enjoyed happy pairings onstage with national and international acts including Pere Ubu. Drummer Mehmet "Memo" Vurkaç earned his PhD in computational ethnomusicology and brings Brazilian rhythms and Turkish funk to an already eclectic melange of influences. He has performed on numerous occasions with Pink Martini and Jorge Alabê as well as one-offs with Obo Addy, Vi Hart, Michael Spiro/Mark Lamson, an early MarchFourth Marching Band, and Brazil’s Olodum, and live radio braodcasts with Mirah and Fishbone. Vurkaç appears on Mirah's 2009 album (a)spera (K Records) also featuring members of The Decemberists and The Haggard. The band have played over 90 shows across the West Coast in venues including Doug Fir, Mississippi Studios, Someday Lounge, Dante’s, Rotture, Ash St., Valentine's, Berbati's, White Eagle, and The Know in Portland, the Funhouse, Highline, and The Mix in Seattle, the Stork Club in Oakland, Hemlock in San Francisco, and a recurring showcase in the Idaho/Washington Valley. Their first EP, AMPLE FiRE, was released at various times on LEGO USB, CD, and 10-inch record. The band's second EP, COMPLICATED BODIES, was released March 2017 on CD. |

Search | Add | 4 | Ophir Ilzetzki | Ophir Ilzetzki | Ophir Ilzetzki (*1978) is a classically trained composer of experimental music living in Tel Aviv, Israel. He holds a doctorate in music from the Southampton University, where he studied under Michael Finnissy, as well as an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and a BA from the Koninklijk Conservatorium – both in composition. Ilzetzki's music explores various forces through instrumental, electronic, computer, performance, task and conceptual scores, where his works often research the intersection between through-composed and improvised pieces. Ilzetzki’s ongoing compositional goal is to strip forms to their bare essentials whilst still maintaining their identity. In recent years Ilzetzki has been applying games to musical structures, as well as focusing on alternative avenues for scoring music - an activity often leading to the meeting of music with dramaturgy. Ophir’s music is regularly performed in Israel and abroad, and has been featured in numerous international festivals, such as: Tectonics, MATA, Norwich and Norfolk Festival, ACL Asian Music Festival, ISCM World Music Days, City of London Festival, Israel Festival, and more. His works have been published by: Open Source, Stenton Press, Classwar Karaoke, Surrism Phonoethics, False IND, Babelscores, Oryan & Ressling. |
