Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Moleras Moleras Moleras - this is handmade alternative rock from Aachen, Germany. The duo consists of Moritz Bas and Lukas Wynands. They have known each other their whole life and have always made music together. In 2017 they started a band called “Nepomuk” in which they gained their first band and stage experiences. They also started to write their own music inspired by the stuff they love. In 2019 they decided to put their own songs together for a record. They recorded their debut album “obstacles” in the practice room of and with help from their friends Boon Goon. The album is about personal struggles and tries to provide a way out of them. It is supposed to show the listeners a way to deal with their personal obstacles. Considering their release, they changed their name to “Moleras” and decided to start over again. The duo performs with a pretty unusual line up: guitar, synthesizer, bass, vocals, percussion and a ukulele. In order to gain a full band sound, they use loopers and a bunch of effect pedals. With those instruments they are able to create a unique sound and their performances become extraordinary. The friends are excited about their first release and can’t wait to get on the road to bring their music to the people! “When the breakdown is getting nearer, try to start anew and always remember: your only obstacle is you!”

Search Add 4 Xaque Diogo Santos, Lee Miranda, Tony Cirne, Peter Cabrita, Pedro da Costa, Burt Fernandes, William Condesso Xaque” pronounced (shock) is a Luso-American band from the New Jersey / Philadelphia area. The Portuguese word Xaque means “Checkmate”. Formed in 1992 when a few friends and original members of the band Xaque, met to record a few songs while experimenting with new recording equipment. Within months they found themselves expressing their Western European musical roots and sharing tales of heroes and heritage. Full of vigor and inspiration, they enthusiastically continued to record and draw together individuals with similar aspirations to contribute to their projects. In the summer of 1994, a vision and conviction had emerged. And as they say; the rest is history. XAQUE’S debut recording, "EVOLUÇÃO", released in 1995 was the result of their journey in the recording studio. As sons of first generation Portuguese immigrants, the undertone was to convey social awareness, political upheaval and fond remembrance of their founding fathers. Shortly after the release of "EVOLUÇÃO", XAQUE performed in various concerts in the United States with well-established performers from Portugal. XAQUE proved their worth when they took center stage at the Portuguese American Heritage Concert at the TRUMP TAJ MAHAL (Atlantic City NJ). Sharing the stage with XAQUE was [a661010], [a767164], [a1474205] and Fernando Pereira. Shortly thereafter XAQUE joined [a125903] for a three concert series of LOUD MUSIC and FUN in New Jersey. XAQUE remains the only US based band to have performed in concert with Portuguese artists of this magnitude… Having fostered a relationship with [a661010], XAQUE believed his collaboration on their recordings would bring more awareness to their project. In the Winter of 1996 Rui Veloso returned to the United States to participate. Today XAQUE find themselves survivors of life’s challenges, and on October 15th of 2002, the anticipation ends. Xaque will release their much-anticipated follow up CD to EVOLUCAO UNPLUGGED titled ALMA NUA. Xaque's "Herói do Mar - Unplugged" was nominated for the 2013 IPMA awards for best Rock Song.

Search Add 4 The New Kinetics Garage rock band from San Diego, California, formed in October 2010 by singer Birdy Bardot (real name Emily Reilly) and her husband, guitarist/keyboardist Brian Reilly, with drummer Jon Bonser and bassist Leslie Schultze. They self-released their debut EP Rock & Roll Has Got To Go that November, then signed to Aural Gravy Records for their first full-length album, Contact, released on CD and digital in September 2011. They wanted to release their next album on vinyl, but Aural Gravy was unwilling to pay for the expense, so the band ran a Kickstarter campaign and raised $5,000 to record in San Francisco with producer [a=John Vanderslice] and release the LP themselves. In Stereo was released in December 2012 on the band's own imprint, Anobel Records. Schultze departed the band in April 2013 to focus on her new project, [a=Flaggs], and was replaced by Josh Kmak. TNK broke up that June due to the Reillys' plans to move back to the East Coast, but plans changed and the band regrouped in early 2014 and recorded an EP, Red, which went unreleased. They announced their impending breakup in October 2016, and played their farewell show two months later on New Years Eve. The Red EP was released to streaming services in June of 2021.

Search Add 4 Alinep Ali Nepomuceno ALINEP (Ali Nepomuceno) Born and raised in Manila, Alinep comes from a family where music played a vital part of everyday life, Alinep was put into music classes at an early age. From collecting tapes of jazz bands, collecting vinyl records and attending DJ events, Alinep started off being a fan towards the path of becoming a DJ. He started playing at small bars and lounges and soon was given the opportunity to play different clubs. In the long run, his music paid off and earn club residencies - currently now rep presents a club called Time in Manila. Alinep has shared the decks alongside Darren Emerson, Nick Warren, Yousef, Slam, Dave Seaman, Anil Chawla, Luke Fair, Jimmy Van M, Josh Wink, Umek, Joy Kitikonti, Timo Garcia, Nelski, Frank Mueller, Quivver, Xhin, Secret Cinema, Ramon Tapia, James Zabiela, Guti, Dirt Crew, KiNK, Satoshi Fumi, Alex Flatner, Martin Eyerer. Aside from gigging in his hometown, he plays around Asia - the World DJ Festival in South Korea and featured parties in Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. His tracks has been featured in different shows like "Outerspace" in Proton Radio by Satoshi Fumi, "Deep & Deeper" in Tunnel FM and "HEY! Muzik' by Michel De Hey. His music for Blacksoul also hit WMC Miami. Alinep's musical imprint in his dj sets and music production are very poetic and is rooted from deep house to techno, minimal to techhouse, Detroit to Chicago and the beat goes on and on defining his own club space. Aside from music production and djing, Alinep founded Manila Underground with Martin Lugtu and Pav Parrotte - a collective of local djs/producers/promoters and foreign-locals who love and live for non-commercial electronic music. More to his music vision, Alinep manages Asia Music, an independent record label based in Kuala Lumpur & Manila. Alinep is Asia's very own and one of Asia's respected underground DJs and music producers to date. His passion for his music work and his unique style of music blend has earned him recognition in the underground music community globally. Alinep is one of the newest artists of MakTub Music - a label run by Arjun Vagale and Logiztik Sounds. Recently his release entitled "Meet the Sponks" got massive support from the likes of Nick Muir and Richie Hawtin who played it Sonar Off Barcelona and ENTER at Space, Ibiza. Alinep's recent release under Tenampa Recordings entitled “Carriedo” and his EP for Berlin label, Tanztone Records are both well supported by common names like Michel De Hey, Ellen Allien, Chris Fortier, Owain K and many more. Aside from his upcoming releases, Alinep’s radio show, Manila Underground will be Monday monthly at UB Radio. More of Alinep in 2014, his track "Deepsomnia" originally from Funkfield Recordings then re-released by Love International is a BIG hit this summer. For 8 weeks, it was in heavy play by Richie Hawtin and also charted - reached and heard in Hungary's Balaton Sound Festival, Minus Showcase in Fabric London, TomorrowWorld in the USA and of course at ENTER at Space, Ibiza.

Search Add 4 Tico Zamora American guitarist, songwriter and producer, born in 1967 in Washington D.C., USA. Real name: Torcuato Zamora. Tico Zamora began playing guitar at an early age. Starting at the age of eight, he received daily guitar lessons from his father, Torcuato Zamora, Sr., an accomplished flamenco guitarist from Almeria, Spain. After five years of apprenticeship with his father, at age 13, the young Zamora bought his first electric guitar, a Fender Stratocaster. Zamora was greatly influenced by his older sister's record collection, which included bands such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Aerosmith. Through countless hours of playing along with and emulating what he heard on those seminal records, he discovered his passion for the electric guitar. Too young to play in nightclubs, his first performance was at a Battle of the Bands in a local Washington, D.C. area game room where he won the competition. Shortly thereafter, he was asked to join H.R. ("Human Rights"), fronted by Paul Hudson, lead singer of the influential hardcore punk band Bad Brains. This was 16-year-old Zamora's introduction to the world of punk rock. After touring and recording in the studio with H.R. for two years, H.R.'s former band, Bad Brains, went back into the studio with its original band members and released a new album, I Against I. In 1987, Zamora moved to Athens, Georgia to start a new band, Gypsy Cab Company, and immerse himself in the thriving alternative rock and new wave music scene. Two years later, Maureen Tucker, drummer for The Velvet Underground, asked Zamora to play guitar with her in the opening act for Lou Reed on his New York tour across the U.S. and Canada. In 1990, Zamora played guitar in Mo Tucker's band and toured throughout many cities in Europe, including Berlin, Germany, where Zamora lived from 1991 to 2009. In Berlin, Zamora set up a recording studio and played with and produced many bands, some of which were part of the exploding electropop/electroclash music scene occurring in Berlin in the early 2000s.
