Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Julius Bockelt | Julius Bockelt | Julius Bockelt is a visual artist, performer and musician from Frankfurt/Main, Germany. In his work he deals with phenomena of nature and physics. He observes, recreates and tries to capture the mostly ephemeral processes and to understand them in his artistic work: He draws vibrations, observes and archives cloud formations, preserves soap bubbles and works with experimental photography. The origin of his artistic practice lies in music, more precisely in the superimposition of sounds and the resulting vibrations and interferences. |

He had been studying with [a=Mikhail Terian] and later received his PhD diploma from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Since 1996, Yasha Papian lives in California, USA. In 1976, Papian joined [a=Eduard Tadevossyan] in [a=Komitas Quartet]. Together with [a=Hakop Mekinyan] (2nd violin) and Felix Simonian (cello), he formed the new line-up of renowned ensemble and had been playing in the group until 1991. Papyan formed the trio with violinist Hrachia Harutunyan and pianist [a=Anahit Nersesyan] in 1994, but the group only performed for two years. After that, Yakov relocated to the United States. Overseas he continued his music career and had been performing and organizing workshops in USA, Mexico, Brazil, and Spain. To commemorate [a=Aram Khatchaturian] centennial in 2003, Yasha Papyan re-arranged Seventeen Pieces from his various works for the string quartet. In 2006, Komitas Quartet performed and recorded this collection. Name variations: Yakov Papian, Yasha Papyan, Jakov Papyan |

Search | Add | 2 | Shaheen Ariefdien | Shaheen Ariefdien | Shaheen, was born in Cape Town, the son of jazz musician Issy Ariefdien - which explains his ties to the Cape Jazz sound. Shaheen grew up in Elsies River, on the Cape Flats, but spent most of his earlier years travelling various parts of South Africa with his father - a performing musician. The Sugarhill Gang's "Rappers Delight" had a big influence on Shaheen, and it's not coincidence, that today Shaheen ranks as one of the most talented rappers or MC's in South Africa. He gained recognition at "The BASE" (the legendary club which featured Saturday afternoon Hip Hop jams), with his supremacy in freestyle battles. He is credited with having set the standards with rap styles, skills and lyrical content in Cape Town. Shaheen has always been politically and socially conscious - which stems from his school days when he was a member of the Student's Representative Council and was actively involved in protests at school. Shaheen still brings an air of political awareness and criticism to his lyrics, and has been understandably harsh on the old Apartheid government. As an MC, Shaheen is almost unsurpassed in South Africa, while his production skills are dominant on all of POC's releases to date. Shaheen has also made his mark on Hip Hop History in South Africa, as he was one of the key members who were responsible for setting up the African Hip Hop Movement, and still concentrates on development in the Hip Hop community. |

Search | Add | 2 | Quartier Latin Jazz Band | Early German jazz band from Stuttgart, founded in 1952 by Dieter Antritter. He led this band more than 50 years. The band is also known by the name "The Latin Jazz Band". Bandleader Antritter was jazz enthusiastic and went to Paris shortly after WW2 ended. There, he met some well-known Jazz players and started to jam with them. After his return to Stuttgart in 1952, he founded the "Quartier Latin Jazz Band" as a local band in Stuttgart. Now, he started to use his network and brought Paris-based jazz musicians to Stuttgart, as Benny Waters, Mezz Mezzrow or Michel Attenoux. They were joining his band as guest musicians. The recording era started in 1960. The band's bassist was working at Stuttgart-based Deutscher Schallplattenclub. By this relationship, DSC started to record the guest performances and pressed it on vinyl. The band existed more than 50 years with Antritter as bandleader and still had live-performances in 2003. By Antritter's death in August 2015, the band existed for 63 years. | |

Search | Add | 2 | Endless Lights | Progressive psychedelic trance / Trance duo project based in France Endless Lights is the project of two lovers of electronic music. A metaphor for talking about happiness and emotions, a reference to space and its infinity as well as to the poetry it evokes to them. Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, and Jean-Michel Jarre were the first to put stars in the eyes of the duo. It was in the early 2000s after listening to a hardcore audio cassette for him and dance music for her that their love affair with electronic music really began. And it was during 2006 with the discovery of a trance compilation gleaned from the net that we fell in love with this music. After an already well-supplied career in hard music for their respective solo projects, Endless Lights signs the fusion of a composition combining the technique of one and the artistic touch of the other. Dive with this couple into very spatial musical layers, between arpeggios, ultra retro synth leads under musical influences inspired by Neelix, Stephan Bodzin, Giorgia Angiuli or even Perturbator.
