Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Billy Darnell American multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer. Born in Michigan and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Not to be confused with singer/music executive Bill Darnel. Darnell's main instrument is the guitar, but he's also been known to play the mandolin, piano, bass, and more. He is currently in The Jangle Brothers with [a743479] and [a1068779]. He played guitar for the Gene Clark Byrds, The Everly Brothers, Dr. John, Doug Kershaw, and Roger McGuinn. Before joining Dewey Martin And Medicine Ball in 1968 Darnell worked with a Hollywood band called The Orphans and played a couple of local dates with Albert King. His other notable achievement was doing session work for Dave Allen & The Arrows. Darnell would ultimately become Medicine Ball’s longest serving member and would continue to work with Dewey Martin, on and off, over the next thirty years. Darnell and singer/songwriter/guitarist Ray Chafin (who was briefly with Darnell in Medicine Ball) founded the country-rock band Electric Range in the early ’90s.

Search Add 2 Mica Eio Mica is a multi-genre singer and composer. She has served her original style faithfully for over a decade, with Drum n Bass grooves, Soulful House and Neo Soul as her music comprises all of the above with an electronic twist. She has worked as a session musician at Jamestown Studios and performed live on both drum n’ bass sets (New Wave DnB) and Gospel vocal groups in London. Her debut EP “Magic Ball” (The Sound of Everything Ltd.) features fresh sounds and soul influenced vocals. With a new Album on the way, which features ambient, Soulful House RnB, Drum n Bass and Νeo-Soul elements, she enters to the Neon and fluorescence era and being a junkie of aesthetics, she makes a transition from a sterile music education to her true sound. She has been performing in European Festivals with recent highlights: “Jazz & Blues Rallye 2018 & 2019 ( LUX ), Milano Music Week 2018 ( IT ) & Athens Music Week ( GR )2019.

Mud-soaked powerful riffs, mighty vocals and sound both massive and concrete come together in a heavy-sounding stoner metal, pushing through sadness and joy, depression and euphoria, straying the listener from the right path with will-o-wisps to mercilessly drown him into slough.

Search Add 2 Holland Garcia Holland was born on June 14, 1947 in Oakland, California. In his childhood he moved with his family to Carmel where he became a life-long resident. From an early age Holland was drawn to the arts. His natural ability, imagination, and passion for music guided him his entire life. As a young man he graduated from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music and began composing and teaching music. He taught piano for many years at the Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach. Besides his talent as a musician Holland was also an accomplished author writing under the name Gene Andrade, and an artist skilled in many mediums. He was a generous individual who loved being in nature and was passionate about educating his students about the beauty of music. "I'm a lifelong seeker of truth and wisdom. For many years I studied with a famous spiritual teacher who glorified yoga and meditation. When I realized that I was out of touch with my feelings, I then studied with a teacher who glorified emotions. Feeling bored after a few years, I then studied with a teacher who glorified the mind. Awakening to the reality that all are equal and that nobody should be followed, I finally went my own way. Now I follow my own heart and look within for the light to guide me on my path."

Search Add 2 DJ Boronas George Boronas Boronas begun his dj career during the mid 90's in Thessaloniki, Greece. Early influences came from his parents record collection. Some piano and guitar lessons where enough to make him realize his love for music and made him want to be a part of all that. A few years later George started to collect vinyl which ignited his passion to use these records to create a mood in a club. Soon after, at the age of 16, he got the chance to start his dj career as he started playing his first parties. At the time George was mixing break beat, jungle and intelligent drum n' bass Style. Soon he changed his musical taste and moved into deep house, house, tech-house and techno with influences that came from USA's 90's house and techno scene, as well as house from the UK. George had residencies in various clubs in his hometown of Thessaloniki and was also organising nights with Pale Penguin. Together they planned parties hosting guest DJs, live musicians and local heroes who supported the events with live instruments like sax, guitars, keyboards and percussion. Until now he has played alongside artists like Wareika, Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich, Aril Brikha.
