Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Urs Boeschenstein | Swiss musician, songwriter and teacher, born 1935. Lives now in Italy, Rancone at the Lago Maggiore. About his musical career in his own words: The earliest recordings date back to 1964 and 1966 when I did my first TV show (together with [a3130597]). Our first program was called "STRAMPEDEMI". Its titlesong is a "Lanzknechtlied" - a song of the Swiss mercenary soldiers that fought for the pope in Italy in the 16th century. From 1966-1972 I was a program editor at RADIO ZÜRICH, the Zürich Studio of the SWISS RADIO CORPORATION. From 1972-1979 I wrote and composed my own songs. I was a "Liedermacher", a songmaker. I performed in small theatres all over Europe, in Switzerland, Germany, France and England. I also recorded some of my songs for Radio and Television. In 1979 I started to play medieval instruments: hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, threehole pipes, rebec, fiddle, citern, mandora, tambourin. I tried to revive songs and music of the minstrels, troubadours and minnesingers of the 13th century. In 2000, at the age of 65years, I had to stop playing concerts.

Search | Add | 3 | KCHÖRTOO | KCHÖRTOO is an alternative rock project inspired by the Ural lore. It was started in 2010 as a solo project by Stepan Samokhin (a.k.a. Stephan Friedman), who was born in the Urals and is currently residing in the Levant. From the Russian, K Chortoo (“к чёрту”) translates literally as “To the devil!”, which can be used either as “Go to hell!”, or as a response to the “break a leg” wish, depending on the context. The field recordings and samples, which permeate KCHÖRTOO’s songs and musical sketches create an atmosphere of ethereal mystery and magical folktales. KCHÖRTOO’s first full-length album SARANCHA was released on May Eve 2018.

Search | Add | 3 | Greg Lounsberry | Greg Lounsberry | In 1998, Greg released "Flower Pot Hat" by The Rocket4357 Project, a collaboration with fellow guitarist, Steve Spayde, and bassist Dan Collins. In 2005, "Frankenclown" by Laserdogs was his next release. This was intended to be a band, but due to a lack of participation from the other members, ended up as a solo project. the interesting part began during the promotion phase of "Frankenclown" Greg met Matt Sweitzer online, and was asked to co-write and sing something for a new Canvas album, "Digital Pigeon". Greg co-wrote and sang the sardonically funny "A Reptile Dysfunction" for "Digital Pigeon", (which by the way was named for the internet collaboration between Greg and Matt.) The song revolves around an abused husband's couch confessions to his therapist about his violent dinosaur dreams, a metaphor for his fear of his wife............black comedy at it's best! Greg also contributed to "Funk Shui", "Dark Side of the Sun", "Cat Walk", "Lost in Transit" "Armchair Voyager", "Ghost Town", and "On Second Thought"' . Since then, Greg has appeared on several installments of The Canvas Prog Hour, interviewing such artists as Roger Powell, Michael Sadler, Rich Williams, Eric Johnson, Steve Hackett, Terry Bozzio, David Paich, Daryl Steurmer, Roine Stolt, and bands such as Ajalon, Helmet of Gnats, Tunnels, Gendes Giant, Von Frickle, and A.C.T. Greg and wife Tammy sang on the 2013 Canvas album, "Long Way to Mars", and October Tree's 2012 release, "The Fairy's Wing. Greg can be found at Lounsberrypedals.com building custom guitar pedals for top artists. Greg is currently working on a new album, for Canvas Productions with Matt Sweitzer. |

After two semesters, he moved to the main subject guitar / lute on but without a work with Professor Hans Poser interrupting. He studied under Professor Eike Funk (Hamburg) and Professor Heinz Teuchert (Frankfurt) and graduated with the artistic maturity examination and the diploma of the Hamburg Academy of Music from. In addition, other courses have been completed such. B. at Toyohiko Satoh. Sigurd Schmidt's thesis dealt in detail with the various playing techniques of the right hand, but especially with the so-called support strike which plays a very crucial role in the nail game. As the initiator and leader of the Parnassos Gitarrentrio an active concert career has been completed and at the same time built a solo career. Many studio recordings, radio, theater and opera performances followed. The deep exploration of the hermetic philosophy of the Renaissance (G. Bruno, Agrippa, R. Fludd, J. Dee and others) and the lute music of this time - which he describes as a "cult of melancholy", led to the decision to guitaristic of the separating nail art and to devote himself exclusively to the lute and baroque guitar. In addition to his musical vocation, there is strong additional interest for medical, ethnological consciousness techniques and philosophy of religion. Today Sigurd Schmidt lives as a private tutor in the Lüneburg Heath. He maintains an active contact with other lutenist and a variety of instrument makers and focuses intensely on his lautenistische concerts.

Search | Add | 3 | Deciduous Flux | Deciduous Flux began channeling energies through recordings early 2011 in Denver Colorado. It is the ongoing creative collaboration between Wesleyoung and Jesse Peper. Wesleyoung, a visual artist and also the founder and proprietor of a collective abstract underground sound project known as Behavior. Jesse Peper is primarily a painter, but has also performed and/or recorded with Not Breathing, Waltedtful, Legerdemain and Icedagaz. Deciduous Flux was originally conceived a few years earlier than this as a visual collaboration between both artists which resulted in a series of large paintings. During the Development of these artworks many conversations often led to the discussion on the medium of sound, as both of us have always kept a love for the craft of sound. At this time we have been recording a year and a half resulting in 12 full recording sessions. Much of this material is in production and will be released to the public within the coming months. Our recording process is quite different than the usual conventional approaches on what music is “seen as” or “supposed to be” to the world. On one hand we are obsessed on the opiates of oblivion and we are recording constantly for no outcome other than for our own meditation purposes, for achieving various states and documenting them through the recording process. This, within itself, is an intoxicating pre-procedural agent for what follows! Largely our aim is to capture these otherworldly trans-dimensional expressions or bleed-throughs with the proper elements to perform the divine inductions, invocations and evocations etc, through the methods of our ritual. The tradition we naturally adopt is more akin to that of the shaman than it is to modern modalities of thinking. We recognize the spirit-forms or energies around us to guide us within appropriate directions according to our will and desire. On another hand, at times we see our process fall into a method which we have described as automatic recordings, similar to some degree in the approach of automatic drawings only using sounds rather than images as the medium with which to explore, amass and create our impressions on the hanging space of time. Within the Deciduous Flux is like a painting with sounds. A rich palette of sound to create and stimulate visions both from externally and internally. Each byproduct of the recordings presents an invocation of elements which create metaphysical vortexes to other dimensions with which the listener can also gain access to if the desire to do so exists.

Search | Add | 3 | Blackguy | Blackguy spent his youth in the streets of north side Omaha. The St. Joseph, Missouri born rapper moved to Omaha, Nebraska at the age of eight. In 1991, he ran into producer L-Mac-N and has been dropping rhymes over hot hip-hop instrumentals, honing his clever lyrics and street knowledge over whatever style of beat thrown his way. Blackguy is a veteran rapper who established a name for himself in 1997 as member of the group Full Clip. The debut album entitled “Stuck In The Game” (distributed by ichiban) became an underground classic and Blackguy was an immediate standout. His distinctive style, articulate delivery and his humorous but hard-hitting wordplay has always set him apart. Even now he is one of the most under-rated MC’s in the Midwest region. His current independent album “Think About It” is being released by StatusOne Recordings through Black Smack Records; a label founded by Blackguy and long time friend and producer L-Mac-N. In 1998 Full Clip’s second release “Late Night”, hit the underground market but unfortunately Ichiban; the company responsible for the groups distribution, filed for bankruptcy. Just one year later Blackguy made the decision to release a compilation album with Shonuff Records entitled “Back Stage Pass” followed up with his first solo album “All About Me”. As Blackguy’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to thrive Black Smack Records will release remixed versions of all Blackguy’s independent label work as well as more albums and compilations from Omaha’s finest.

Search | Add | 3 | HUMANITIES | Toronto art-damaged hardcore. Exploring some of the strange terrain in this world of techno-alienation, HUMANITIES' debut EP focuses on our all too familiar, yet strange relationships with things like social media and communicative labour, and our dependence on various technologies and institutions in sharing our experiences with others in the world. The imagery and themes are related to our collective efforts — and failures — at communication and community. It opens with the driving post-hardcore sound of “Century of the Selfie,” a bitter meditation on the false promises of social media and connectivity, and then moves through the claustrophobia of “Come Outside” formed from varying strands of punk and hardcore. The dystopic visions of work and leisure in “Belly Full of Fear” combine with noisy, dense guitars that shine with a dissonant melody. The EP concludes with the somewhat more optimistic, yet crushing dirge rock of “Your Dreams are My Dreams,” a song that finds a certain communicative and creative possibility in that apparently most solitary, and unproductive, activity: dreaming. Through dreams we find a shared energy that runs deeply into the individual, seeping into it and pushing out beyond it, into others and to the world.
