Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Morrowyellow | Founded in 1983 in the Italian town of Verona, after the split of the punk band Eva Braun, by the collaboration between Mauro Marchesi (keyboards and electronics) and Joyello Triolo (vocals and guitar). Morrowyellow debuts with an electronic sound experimentation supporting the fascination for the arts and Japanese and Eastern-taste music. A study that led to collaborations with avant-garde theater and contemporary dance until, a couple of years later, with the entrance of Massimo Turco (bass and guitar), Diego Alverà (drums) and Giovanni "Libracub" Pieri (keyboards), they begin to feel a certain interest in live appearances. The band recorded two demos ("My Colours" and "Demo") and some other material - all released on tapes and never officially released until 2014 when Rave-Up released a collection LP titled "My Colours 1985-1988" (available on vinyl and digital) that includes all songs of both the official '80s demos. The band disbanded in late 1988.

From that point on a friendship was born, but it wasn’t until a year ago that the duo decided to start creating music together. With influences ranging from the early days of soul to the outskirts of electronica it might be hard to predict where this duo will are heading and what Svida will be all about. What is certain though is that they are trying to fill in the missing gaps between jacking house and bouncy techno. Individually they search for that special groove which drives the duo together and makes them a perfect match. Martin Halinowski and Calle Dernulf have different skills but share the same passion for the common good; bringing great grooves to all mankind!

Search | Add | 9 | DC Fontana | British alternative band formed by songwriter Mark Mortimer in the mid 1990s who only rose to prominence with their critically-acclaimed debut album 'Six Against Eight' on the DCTone Records in 2010. The group hails from central England and is known for having a continuously evolving line up while featuring a number of different vocalists. 'Six Against Eight' had followed hot on the heels of a limited edition 7" vinyl featuring the group's off-kilter Hammond organ instrumental 'The Contessa' which was paired by 'Snake Charmer,' the latter written by Donald Ross Skinner and Paul Kennedy. Skinner, the long-time producer and guitarist with Julian Cope, has produced all the group's releases and occasionally appears with the group on stage. Since 2013 Skinner has taken a more active role within the band. Kennedy was once with the alternative rock band Salad. The debut album was recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, England at the suggestion of Echo & The Bunnymen guitarist Will Sergeant who then supported the band by acting as a DJ at a record release party on Merseyside. 'Six Against Eight' featured compositions by Mortimer and keys player Scott Riley who had previously performed with Spectrum, the occasional solo project by Pete Kember of Spacemen 3. Original DC Fontana guitarist Neil Jones contributed two songs on the 14-tracks strong album which prominently featured horns and Hammond organ together with more experimental material including a collaboration with the internationally renowned Indian sarangi maestro Surinder Sandhu. German classical composer Christian Badzura of Deutsche Gramophon scored the strings which were played by members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Lead vocal duties were shared by Karla Milton and Riley. The record was accompanied by an ambitious short film shot at the Italianate village of Portmeirion in North Wales by London boutique film company Anotherschmuck. Another limited edition single followed in the shape of 'Meshkalina,' a cover of the Peruvian psychedelic rock classic by Traffic Sound and also featuring remixes of 'The Contessa' by Lack of Afro and of the title track by G. Corp. Also featured on the release was another Skinner/Kennedy composition, 'It Don't Worry Me.' Released in 2011, DC Fontana's next release was 'La Contessa' which was sung mostly in French and Italian by acclaimed jazz singer Kicca Ancdriollo. The CD and digital release came out on DCTone with a 12" vinyl edition from Teen Beat Records in Rome, Italy. Some of the songs were alternative versions of songs which first appeared on 'Six Against Eight' with the addition of new material and two cover versions ('Se Telefonando' written by Ennio Morricone, Maurizio Costanzo and Ghigo De Chiara plus Eddie Harris' 'Listen Here'). The group toured incessantly and returned to the studio to produce 'The Pentagram Man EP' in 2013 with a guest appearance by 60s & 70s star Don Fardon (ex The Sorrows) who also joined the band live on stage in front of a huge audience outdoors in León, northern Spain during August of that year. The EP was supported by another short film and came out on DCTone (CD & digital) and Heavy Soul (7"). As well as two version of the Mortimer-penned 'Pentagram Man' (one sung by Fardon, the other by Louise Turner), the record featured another Mortimer composition, 'DevilAngel' together with Riley's 'Satisfied (Part One)', the folky 'What Would It take?' written by guitarist Tony Russell and a trippy collaboration between Mortimer and Skinner called 'Sighed D.C.' After the release of 'Pentagram Man' Mortimer was asked to join the reformed Sorrows by Fardon and featured on their 2014 release 'Gonna Find A Cave' on Rise Above Records. Since 'Pentagram Man,' DC Fontana took an enforced sabbatical due to the ill health of Mortimer but began recording again 2015. Mortimer and Skinner have been working hard in London on a large number of tunes towards what will be the group's next release .

Search | Add | 9 | George Staiduhar | George Staiduhar was born February 9, 1945, and was the product of E. 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, an area rich in Slovenian style music and culture. He started lessons at age six under the auspices and teachings of Bill Sneller of Euclid, Ohio. His training and study was focused on classical music, which he incorporated into his own Cleveland style polkas and waltzes. During the ‘50s and early ‘60s, he participated in many accordion contests and received No. 1 and No. 2 recognition for the State of Ohio in his age group playing an overture and one of Mendelsohn’s violin concertos. Having played with various bands from Cleveland’s Eastside, during and after his high school years, and after discharge from the Army in 1968, he formed the “George Staiduhar Orchestra” becoming one of Cleveland’s most sought after groups in the early 70’s. He released his first recording in 1970 entitled, “Polkas on the Slope” followed by “Polka Swingin with Staiduhar”. Throughout the ‘70s, the George Staiduhar Orchestra appeared on Cleveland’s Channel 5 TV “Polka Varieties,” once having received “Most Popular Band of the Year” Award. In the 1980’s, he was asked to join the Harry Faint Revue and in 1990, released a cassette entitled, “Polkas by George.” In 1991, that recording was Album of the Year voted by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame. Again, all the music was written and arranged by him, who included their signature tune, “Mozart’s Polka.” That tune received recognition in 2003 by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame as an All Time Greatest Hit. He was also voted by the Polka Hall of Fame as Musician of the Year in 1991, 1994, and 2000. He released “Cadillac Polkas” in 1993. In 1999, the name of the band was changed to “George Staiduhar and the Revue.” In 2000, the Staiduhar Revue released a CD entitled “Y2K Polkas.” It was nominated for a Grammy. In 2004, he retired from music after 45 years and he culminated his musical career by receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, again, from the Polka Hall of Fame. It is the highest honor award given. He works as a Federal Court Reporter with the U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio.

According to the latter profile, the name S.T.R.E.S.S. is an acronym for Striving To Reach Eternal Spiritual Serenity, "a nod to [a=KRS-One]'s acronymic name" and a paradoxical riff on the spiritual idealism that characterized the consciousness movement in hip-hop, of which he was associated. He has since gone on to become a filmmaker (IMDb link below). |
