Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 9 One Thousand Pilots Harsh Noise and industrial drone project by spanish artist Alejandro Remeseiro. In his own words One Thousand Pilots is: Harsh Noise, industrial, landscapes, sometimes drones. One Thousand Pilots was discovered in 1997 while I was walking over an isolated place near Semipalatinsk (Kazhakstan): This place was formerly a huge "nuclear test field" during the soviet era, now full of isolated, tumbledown buildings, and towers in the middle of the steppe. Some inhabitants of the cities near to the zone, tell me about that there, in the isolated test fields, and during the last 30 years people have listened legends about the "The thousand pilots", a supposed kind of group or subhuman society living hidden and secretly in the underground and that got the ability to produce dreadful and frightening "sounds" to communicate, just using amplification of their contaminated throats...and brains. Near Semipalatinsk, in a isolated building, I found some reel tapes with just one label in the case "One Thousand Pilots". I can't say much more about this...

Search Add 9 Svida Swedish Techno/House producer duo formed in 2011. Svida is the result of a chance meeting during a legendary club night in Stockholm more than ten years ago. From that point on a friendship was born, but it wasn’t until a year ago that the duo decided to start creating music together. With influences ranging from the early days of soul to the outskirts of electronica it might be hard to predict where this duo will are heading and what Svida will be all about. What is certain though is that they are trying to fill in the missing gaps between jacking house and bouncy techno. Individually they search for that special groove which drives the duo together and makes them a perfect match. Martin Halinowski and Calle Dernulf have different skills but share the same passion for the common good; bringing great grooves to all mankind!

Search Add 8 The Knowe O'Deil Band The Knowe O'Deil Band hail from Orkney. its members had been playing for many years in ub sessions in and around Orkney before forming the group more than 10 years ago. Since this time the band has seen many talented Orcadian members come and go. There is a good tradition of music in Orkney, although there seem to be more tunes than songs. Very little of it has been heard outside Orkneny itself. There is an Orkney folk festival every year, held in the town of Stromness in May, and occasionally ceilidhs are held throughout the county. All members of the band are self taught Most of the tunes are Orcadian tradition, some of them are from famous native fiddlers. Remarkably enough, this is the first revivalist LP of folk music on the Orkneys.

Search Add 8 John William Burrows John William Burrows was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He loved the piano and took to playing before he was school-age, around the age of four. His mother was a pianist and recognized the talent of her young son, nurturing that talent all the way through John's high school years. John Burrows served his country during the Korean conflict. He was not shipped to Korea but instead was sent to post World War Two Germany where he served as a chaplain's assistant. While serving, he had the opportunity to apply his musical skills, and began to explore the keyboard. Returning stateside, he was accepted at the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, New York. As an applied piano student of James Ball, John received the coveted Senior Recital Award with graduation. A career of teaching music in public schools in the state of New York was followed by a period of self exploration and travel abroad and across the United States and Canada. A romantic man, John Burrows loved the music of the great European composers of the 19th century Romantic period. One of his favorite journeys was tracing the life of Chopin. John prided himself on his athletic ability and well as his dedication to his beloved instrument. His daily routine included long distance running, tennis, golf, ice hockey, hiking or skiing. This was always preceded by two hours of practice that included his favorite Russian exercises and running scales and arpeggios up and down the keyboard. Afternoons and evenings, Mr. Burrows was back at the piano, either performing or working out his pieces. Mr. Burrows passed away in November of 2012.

Search Add 8 Marcel Kociolek Marcel C. Kociolek Marcel C. Kociolek is a German composer, music producer, remixer and record label owner, who started making own electronic music in the early 1990s. He made his first musical steps at the end of the 80s on a turntable. Few years later he added some hardware like a computer and a sampler to his setup. This configuration has been expanded over the years to a small MIDI recording studio. His productions between 1992 and 2002 can be assigned to the classic Techno and Trance genre. Some Hard House and Hardcore Techno tracks were also created during this period of time. But most of the songs have not been released commercially. Since 2010, after some years of musical abstinence and the subsequent setup of his new digital music studio, Marcel is focusing on commercial Electronica releases under several project names (most known: Noom Café). His current music style is a blend of Downtempo (Chillout, Ambient) but also of darker and deeper sounds like House (Deep-, Electro-, Progressive-, Tech) and Minimal Techno. Since 2012 Marcel's songs have been released on numerous record labels like Elux Records (formerly Elektrolux), Clear-Cut-Records, Hero In My Hood, Chilled Beats Records, Pink Revolver and Sony Music.

The cowboy, born Jan. 8, 1929, in Pampa, Texas, had rolled to three consecutive world titles in the early 1950s before suffering a potentially career-ending knee injury. Ignoring his doctors’ advice to quit rodeo, he went on to have his best season ever. Akridge later reinjured his knee and was forced to retire. At the same time, he gave up his seat as bareback riding director on the PRCA Board of Directors. He wore a heavy brace for two years. But in 1959, Akridge decided to pursue a fourth world title. He retired the brace, endured the pain, and in 1961 captured his fourth world title. Search Add 8 Street Barrel Organ A barrel organ (also called roller organ or crank organ) is a mechanical musical instrument consisting of bellows and one or more ranks of pipes housed in a case, usually of wood, and often highly decorated. The basic principle is the same as a traditional pipe organ, but rather than being played by an organist, the barrel organ is activated either by a person turning a crank, or by clockwork driven by weights or springs. The pieces of music are encoded onto wooden barrels (or cylinders), which are analogous to the keyboard of the traditional pipe organ. A person (or in some cases, a trained animal) which plays a barrel organ is known as an organ grinder. These organs were sometimes called Street Barrel Organs due to their portability and were often heard in various locations. Please use this artist for records which simply credit "Street Barrel Organ" as the artist
