Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Damarge | Damarge existed as a functioning unit between late 1981 and 1984 and were based in the Southend-on-Sea area and comprised: * Bill 'Kirt Tempest' Bailey: keys/tapes/electronic beats, * Iain 'Oaf' Weir: bass, * Cliff Gee: voice, * Mark 'Snowboy' Cotgrove: percussion. The band was originally formed by Kirt, Oaf & Cliff who all attended Westcliff High School together. The band was later complimented by the addition of Hadleigh's greatest musical export - Snowboy - sometime in early 1983 after a chance meeting with Kirt at Honky Tonk music store (in Hadleigh, Essex, UK) earlier that year. The original 3-piece band practiced in Oaf's bedroom with pretty minimal equipment. The first song to be written was 20,000 Souls - a chorus chant about West Ham United's Upton Park football ground in East London. The band's output was marked by three relatively distinct phases. Early Period: 1981 to early 1982 A period of early exploration and experimentation - usually undertaken in Oaf's bedroom-cum-studio or Kirt's lounge. Snowboy was not a member at this time and no polished recordings were made and just one gig performed (Zero 6 where all these songs were performed). Songs written at this time included In Remembrance of M.P. (about a good friend, Mark Paveley, who tragically killed himself while only 18 years old) and Jazz-Funk - a concoction of self-indulgent solo Fender-Rhodes improvised jazz riffs (in the vein of the jazz-funk style popular at the time) and an eccentric cacophony of sounds and effects resulting from feeding the Dr. Rhythm through a Big Muff distortion peddle and a Korg x911 guitar synthesizer Mid Period: 1982 to early 1984 This was the most productive era and was marked by Snowboy joining the band (any connection anyone?). Bodyrock was written and Damarge played at The Cliffs Pavilion band contest (one of the biggest venues in Essex). This phase marked the use of more sophisticated equipment, notably - all be it on day hire - the E-mu Drumulator sample drum machine and completion of the main demo tape using some borrowed digital effects. Other songs written/recorded here was Cold (a 5 minute instrumental that would be described as Dark Ambient nowadays and of which only a couple minutes survive), I Feel Love (the classic Donna Summer track) and Break On Through (To The Other Side) - a cover of the classic Doors song. Late Period: 1984 This period was marked by a more fragmented set of styles and a few songs that were never recorded but performed live a few times. These songs include Bostok & Chandler (the authors of an A-level mathematics text book), O.B.N. and Heteroman - an outrageously pumping gay-disco anthem with a catchy Eastern-style riff. The band never officially broke-up, members just went on to do their own things and still keep in touch. There is always talk of reforming for a one-off gig - but current obligations and logistics may make this worthy goal unrealistic. Well, at least for the time being ? but then again?

Search | Add | 3 | 7th Day Buskers | Founded by Shawn P. Rohlf in 1997, the band name came from real life: at the time Rohlf had been in the habit of busking as a street performer at San Diego, California's Hillcrest Farmer's Market weekly. Banjo, keyboardist and electric guitar player Rohlf was joined by his former guitar teacher Robin Henkel on dobro, Melissa Harley on Fiddle and Ken Dow on upright bass. This lineup released 2002's Born to Pick and Long Live the Caboose and 2004's Fool's Grass. By their 2010 effort Tiny Xs, Henkel, Dow and Harley had left with Rohlf taking on mandolin, harmonica and percussion in addition to his guitar and vocal duties but new members Alex Watts on guitar and vocals, singer and acoustic bass man Jef Kmak, singer and drummer T Bone and pedal steel performer Dave Berzansky had come aboard. The fall of that year saw a name change to Shawn Rohlf and the Buskers.

Search | Add | 3 | Ayota | Ayota is the ongoing project of keyboard player & producer [a=Ski Oakenfull]. It was born out of Ski's love of all things Ambient, Experimental & Japanese, with artists such as [a=Brian Eno], [a=Steve Reich], [a=David Sylvian] & [a=Ryuichi Sakamoto] all being big influences. It was whilst on a holiday in Japan in 2004 that Ski was inspired by a Japanese friend's book of Poetry entitled 'Kumorizora no Helicopta' to write soundtracks to three of the poems. This quickly developed into an album project continuing the Japanese ambient theme, the result being 'Helicopter Cuts' which was released in Japan only on the label '[l=Third Ear]' in 2007. The Ayota project has also performed live at both 'The Big Chill' & 'Bestival' with [a=Simon Richmond] (Palmskin Productions), [a=Jeremy Shaw] & [a=Shawn Lee] all joining the stage! Recently Ski has been putting the finishing touches to the third Ayota album, entitled 'Floating Worlds', as well as collating his early experiments to form the 'Selected Ambient Works 91-98' album released on [l=Primaudial Records].

Search | Add | 3 | Sid Plamadon | Sid Plamondon | Sidney Plamondon (Plamador) was born in St. Regis, Huntingdon, Quebec, on October 26, 1910. When he was four years old, his mother bought him a violin for Christmas. Sid would play his violin every chance he got. When his mother was tired of hearing him, he would go and play his violin under his bed. At the age of ten he began making up his own tunes, and at thirteen he started to play his violin with friends and at house parties. Sid married in 1938, and in 1944 moved to Cornwall, where he had his own orchestra and played four to five nights a week. Sid also taught violin, guitar and piano, made and refinished violins, tuned pianos, and repaired other musical instruments. In 1950 Sid formed a group: Sid and his Western Pals. He played for CJSS in the early ’50s. The musicians who played in the group were Johnny Chenier, Benny Dumont, Larry Desrossiers, Lawrence Leroux and his Sid’s wife, Simone. Sid and Simone played at many street dances, and the group often played in Quebec. They also played for many wedding receptions. Sid was busy almost every weekend in 1956. He played in many contests and won numerous trophies. Around 1958 Sid and Simone moved to Alexandria, where he had his own music store on Main Street. He sold records, tapes, pianos, violins and guitars. Around 1971, they moved to Glen Robertson, where they stayed. There, he still had many students and continued to do piano tuning. In 1995 Sid moved to the Maria Goretti residence in Alexandria. He continued to give lessons to some of his pupils in his room and also went to play his violin at some private parties. In 2001 his health deteriorated and he had to be transferred to the Community Nursing Home in Alexandria. Sid and his Western Pals lasted fifty-five years. He passed away on September 18, 2002. Sid Plamondon and his music will always be remembered by his family and friends. |

Search | Add | 3 | Xanthoma | Xanthoma is the side project of Dale Lee (bass) and Gramie Dee (guitars); both members of British thrash metal band Blood Money. Xanthoma is an outlet for their darker side, encompassing the ethos of death, the despair of doom and the destruction that is thrash. Sean Nelson from Tennessee death metal band Diabolical Dismemberment, completes the line-up on vocals, drum programming created by Mal Robins. Why this name? Xanthoma n. (Med.) zan-'thô-mə. A form of skin cancer Xanthoma n. (Metal.) zan-'thô-mə. A form of brutal, death/thrash/doom metal Do you play live? Xanthoma is currently a side project only, and seeing as the band members are in different countries (Dale and Gramie UK, Sean U.S.A.) NO gigs are planned for the time being. How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? The internet has opened up the underground metal scene to broader horizons. More people can now gain access to music that was previously out of reach. Would you sign a record contract with a major label? Xanthoma is a side project, but if interest was shown by a label, then yes. Your influences? Opeth, Slayer, Mortician, Sabbath, Death

Search | Add | 3 | Heromo Deuce | Heromo Deuce does not define himself as an artist through his real identity but creates it through his music. His debut "Human Machine Love" is therefore the complex result of his passion for music of all kinds. Especially influences of synthpop at the beginning of the 80s as well as drum and bass, big beat and downbeat are unmistakable. Playing piano and classical guitar in his youth encouraged him to write his own songs early on. Right from the start, the focus was always on expressing his own emotions through melodies. After producing several artists and a long creative break, he released his first solo debut, a moving collection of tracks focusing on the current theme of human machine interaction. A new track was created in collaboration with PR8werk. The feeling of being a constant prisoner of time was the inspiration for it.

Search | Add | 3 | كمال مسلم | Kamal Musallam | Born in Kuwait on June 8 1970, from very artistic parents, Kamal showed unique talents for drawing and playing music from the early age of 3. He started learning guitar at the age of 9 but took it more seriously when he was 17. Kamal was educated as architect and has went through various musical experiences throughout his young age and college times; of which were Arabic bands, Flamenco, Rock and Blues bands. Late 80's to early 90's, he started discovering more of Jazz sounds and got to know Pat Metheny, Miles Davis, George Benson, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, among many others. In 1994 he moved to France, where he experienced another true musical atmosphere for four years, attending festivals and concerts in both France and Switzerland. He met artists from all over Europe and the world. There he created a more obvious interest for jazz, and developed his playing style. In 1997 he moved back for one year in Lebanon to work as architect; during which he met Ziad Rahbani and started to be a part of his ensemble. There he was convinced his real passion was music and nothing but that, and had to make a serious decision about his career, either to be an architect or a musician, and he chose to explore the musical world. That decision demanded a second trip to France to explore more into the core of the music industry. Kamal’s final return to settle in Jordan, led him to establish his own label K&G and to produce his first album ON A JORDAN RIVER’S SIDE, 2003. It was followed by Out Of MY CITY, 2008, LULU, 2009, SONGS FOR SEUNG-EUN, 2011, THE BEST OF KAMAL MUSALLAM, 2012, HOMEMADE IN ROME, 2014, and WORLD PEACE TRIO, 2017 and HANDMADE IN HUMMUS, 2020. A new collaboration with Billy Cobham, Kai Eckhardt and Gary Husband, among others, is still in production process and falls under the new project entitled "EastMania", expected to be released in 2022. Kamal is settled in Dubai since 2002, active locally and internationally as performer and producer. His main touring bands are Kamal Musallam Trio, Lulu Project, and EastMania. Other collaborations perform occasionally as World Peace Trio, with Gilad Atzmon and Dwiki Dharmawan, and Sea Of Strings, with Dominic Miller (longtime STING's right hand), and Jason Carter. Musallam is currently playing the nylon Silent guitar™ and the newly developed Trans-Acoustic models by YAMAHA, the electric Multi-Oud by GODIN. In 2017, he had developed with IBANEZ his signature guitar models, the electric KMM1 and the nylon fretless KMA1 both released in 2010, and later the high end electric model KMM100 released in 2014, all with a dedicated “quarter tones” playing facility, opening new horizons for guitarists to experiment with additional sounds non existing on standard guitars. Kamal played along with: STING, George Benson, Billy Cobham, Bobby McFerrin, Bob Franceschini, Randy Brecker, Ada Rovatti, Stanely Jordan, Ranjit Barot, Anne Ducros, Dwiki Dharmawan, Andy Suzuki, David Reinhardt, Jorge Pardo (Paco De Lucia Sextet), Francisco Molina, Israel Varela, Volker Schlott, and many others. |

Search | Add | 3 | Anima Corpus | Once upon a time there were five of us. The youth and nonconformity gave birth to “The Dirge”. For two years we had been playing black-doom metal. That lasted till the passion for classical instruments which was rooted since the childhood, come to the front, thus substituting pathos and outrageous behavior. It is then when we came up with “Usypalnitsa Duha” (eng. “Spirit Shrine”), and there became seven of us. By adding three other guests, we recorded a gothic album like we imagined it to be then. The way we were feeling it. Taking the opportunity, we remembered our native language, and sang in it. After that was the period of wandering, storming and winding – no use in talking about them. Now here are two of us. Today we are “Anima Corpus" (Latin for “Spirit Shrine“). The understanding to change the name occurred while making a new album. All the more so this new material can hardly be called logical development of the previous project. One thing is for certain – we did not betray ourselves and have recorded the very essence of our internal experience, disguising it in florid garments of notes and words.
