Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Nattfrossa Black / folk metal band from Sweden. Formed in 1995. Nattfrossa is a Swedish folklore-metal group with female soprano vocals as well as a clean male voice. Nattfrossa was formed in late -95 by two members of the death/black metal band Dimness namely X-Ray Alex and Andy E. Those two wanted to play blackmetal with operistic vocals. And so they did for a while, until X-Ray Alex questioned Andy if he«d rather play black metal with folklore influences. Andy thought it was a splendid idea and the two pioneers composed a lot of music and writing lyrics about witches, trolls, goblins and so on. The line-up at this time was: X-Ray Alex - guitars, backing grunts and Andy E. - lead vocals, bass, drum programming. Right after the new year Nattfrossa realized that they needed a drummer, a really fast drummer. So they talked to Martin H.O.S. (high on speed), the drummer of Dimness and he came with an excellent idea; Martin could play second guitar and Henning Stonehammer of Belial from recently split-up Omen could torture the drums. Also, Andy and X-Ray thought it would be cool with a female vocalist and the good thing was that a class mate to Henning had a voice as pure as the frost of the nite. The girl was Anna. This line-up lasted for some time until the drum parts got to complicated even for mighty Stonehammer of Belial. The only recordings from this era are low quality rehearsal tapes. So Nattfrossa was looking for a drummer again. During a concert that Dimness played in Kista together with Somber, Andy got the idea of asking the Somber drummer Olle if he was interested to start rehearsing with Nattfrossa. He said that he could test drumming a couple of times and then see if he was willing to continue with Nattfrossa. He did continue and he was good. He didn«t grind fast though, instead he had his speed in his double bass-drumming and fill-ins. As Somber play melodic death metal the drums in Nattfrossa changed too. It was more grungy now and slower too. During the summer Nattfrossa decided to kick Olle out of the band, basically because of the grungy ness and that he couldn«t deal with the 3/4 and 6/8 drumming properly. The summer passed and no new drummer was found and also a lot of music was written so Nattfrossa decided to record their first demo with computer drums. Said and done Nattfrossa«s first demo "En stilla dag vid Šlven" (a calm day by the river) was started recording Friday the 13 th of September 1996. With 5 songs and an outro the total running time is 42 min! The music was a mix of black metal and scandinavian folk music with clean male and female vocals. This recording was for sale to the public and by some reason we didn«t send it to any record company. In the beginning of 1997 we hooked up with a new drummer; Evil Emil. This mighty drummer has the speed of a bullet and the feeling of frost in his fingers. To cut it short, he«s one helluva drummer. He started rehearsing with us and everything was perfect, so in April we started the recording of the second demo entitled: "Barnarov" (Child prey). A 27 minute travel back to medieval times. At this time we had ditched the black metal influences and instead we headed for a folk music/heavy metal mix. The response from the fans was good and most people saw the second demo as an improvement from the first. Nattfrossa has only done two live shows. The first one was at Viksjš TrŠffen and one of our to come most loyal fan was there; MŠrsta Micke. The gig went really good for being the first one for us. A lot of friends were there who showed us their support. The second gig was at D.A.S. in Bro. It was lousy sound because the black metal band that "played" before us screwed up the guitar sound. Anyway Ozzy Oskar and MŠrsta Micke were there and banged their heads. As well as Linus "Dusk" Ekstrom from Siebenburgen, Dimness, Into Desolation who came up on stage and gave a grim black metal scream. In June 1997 Andy had to do the military service way up in the north of Sweden. This made it more complicated for the band to rehearse as often as usual. Thing started to go worse for the band. In late 1997 Anna was kicked out of the band because thinks were not working out at the rehearsals. Nattfrossa was again looking for a member. Different female singers were tried out. One of them by the name of Malin seemed to be an excellent singer. Unfortunately she got pregnant and never got a chance the sing with the band. At last the band found a talented female singer and the band could carry on for a while. Her name was also Anna and had some experience as a singer in a church-choir. The band started to write and rehearse material for a third demo. In early 1998 Evil Emil decides to leave the band. According to Emil himself, the reason was that Nattfrossa wasn´t getting anywhere. Now Nattfrossa had a problem with a missing drummer again. After a few month after the tragic news the band decided to make the third demo with machine-drums. The demo is almost done.

Search Add 2 Pizza Prostata Swiss Punk Rock group. Biography from their homepage: We kicked off in 1992 as a 5-Piece Punk Group called the Sausage Factory. Doing things onstage is part oft he act. Anyone can play a guitar, but not everyone will get onstage with a cows brain cellotaped onto their head or paint themselves blue and set off fireworks three floors underground. In 1996 we split and became a 4-Piece unit called Pizza Prostata. We experimented with industrial sounds and loads of electronics. We had to, seeing our drummer left for Scotland, where he staied for a year to study and experience the Scottish style of wrestling. We took a break for a couple of years and found back to our rocking roots. Basic, simple, straight forward songs in the classic drums, base, guitar and vocals setup. Great songs played badly but with passion.

Search Add 2 Ami Collé Dieng Amy Collé Dieng Amy Collé Dieng is part of a younger generation of female singers in Senegal. Born in the town of Thies, 70 km East of Dakar, she grew up in Dakar. Youssou N'Dour has seen her sing when she was young, and she remained in contact with him over the years. Since 2003, she has been part of Youssou's Super Etoile de Dakar as a backing vocal. Amy participated in international tours with the Super Etoile, also following the release of « Egypt », the Grammy Award-winning album with traditional musicians from Dakar as well as Egypt [1]. Amy also sang as backing vocal with Ndongo Lo and Kiné Lam [2]. In 2006, Amy Collé recorded her first album « Defar Ba Mou Baax » for the label Jololi, the label of Youssou N'Dour. The album was an instant success, and the title song is still a well-loved song in Senegal. The success seemed to have a side-effect as well, as in 2009, the singer started a legal procedure against a publicity company because of unauthorised use of the song in a TV ad for Rama butter in Senegal [3]. In 2011, she leaves Jololi and signs with the Dub Records label in the Netherlands. Amy Collé recorded with Dub Records her second album «Maturité » in 2013. With popular new songs such as « Naby », « Fans Yi » and « Sama Choix », several high-standard video clips were made, and plans were ready for an international tour. In 2019, she came back with a single « Muñel », again for Prince Arts.

They came from Faenza (Emilia Romagna) and after Skins Army all the band members involved into "Fronte Della Gioventu", a youthful organization of MSI (right wing party). Another one guy with the name Riccardo play the bass once with them and now he play in the sharp band Reazione. Their line up was: Calboz-vocals, Ivan-guitar, Riccardo Gnoli-bass, Pantera-drums. Demo tape 'Le Strade' released in 1984. They have also one tape included the same songs and 'Boia Chi Molla' and another one live tape.

Search Add 2 KastningSiegfried The KastningSiegfried Duet Project was formed in 1990, and is an ongoing artistic collaborative between [a4968562] and Siegfried, a guitarist and composer based in Portland, Maine. The KastningSiegfried compositions are written in open score, but are performed and recorded by us for acoustic guitar duets. Compositionally, the works fall into one of three basic categories: pieces composed by Siegfried, pieces composed by me, and pieces collaborated upon and composed by us both. The music defies easy categorization. Instrumentation consists of Siegfried on acoustic 6-string guitar, and me on 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, extended baritone guitar, 12-string extended baritone guitar, classical guitar, fretless classical guitar, and mandolin. The Binary Forms pieces tend to be extended compositions. The Binary Forms series (currently a set of 11 compositions) employ a compositional technique wherein one of us will compose one voice (the score being laid out in a two-voice system), either Voice I or Voice II. The completed single-voice score is given to the other person, who then composes the part of the unfinished voice. Usually, no predetermined guidelines have been specified for the unfinished voice, but there have been pieces wherein the first person has specified certain harmonic or structural elements as a kind of palette for the second person to use when composing their part. This compositional method has produced some very unique pieces.
