Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Larry Emmett According to several sources, the Kansas City area’s first homegrown rock band of note was [a=Larry Emmett] and [a=The Sliders (5)]. Larry Emmett was Native American, born on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation near Mayetta, Kansas. His parents moved to DeSoto, Kan., where Larry attended high school and began playing the guitar. In the late 1950s and early ’60s, the band played gigs from Kansas City to Omaha, Neb., and many points in between. Their early engagements included high school dances and privately sponsored “teen town” parties, as well as Berry’s Barn in Olathe, Kan. — one of several area barns converted to dance halls during that era. They also performed at KC nightclubs, including the Promenade Ballroom at 31st and Main streets and the Crossroads at Benton Boulevard and Swope Parkway. Upon his 2011 induction into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, saxophonist Jim “Sweet Lips” Wilson told The Eudora, Kan., Reporter that the Sliders won a battle of the bands sponsored by WDAF-TV in 1958. Larry Emmett and the Sliders consisted of Emmett (guitar and vocals), Charles “Bud” Ross (later of Kustom amps fame, on bass and vocals), Frank Huffman (drums) and Jim Wilson (sax and vocals). Before Ross joined, Larry’s father, Chris (aka Flash), often played the bass. Larry Emmett fronted several other bands before and after the Sliders, including [a16039764] and the Swingin’ Indians (the latter group featuring [a=Tom Bark], later of Colt 45/KC Blues Band). The Sliders recorded one seven-inch 45 rpm record, released in 1959 or ’60 on their own Blues label. The titles, credited to Emmett, are “West Coast Blues” and “Bluesy,” and they are, indeed, slow blues instrumentals. Emmett left the Kansas City area in the late 1960s and died in 2000 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Search Add 2 Light Whales "A Native american came from a future videogame to steal your soul". Born in 2016, Light Whales are the brainchild of Jack Pallaver. The project came to life with the completion of their debut album "Feel Alone with the Science," an entirely self-produced work created using only "modest" means. Recorded at home with a cellphone, a computer, and an SM57 microphone, the album echoes the sounds of MGMT, Beck, and the alternative indie vibes of the 2000s. To bring the album to the stage, Jack sought the help of local musicians he admired: Sebastiano Cecchini from Humus on drums, Matteo Tomaselli from Bob and the Apple on keyboards, and Andrea Garofalo on bass and guitar. After a few years of intense live activity, the band took a break to focus on producing a second album, once again crafted solo and home-made. In 2024, Light Whales return with "Death to the Whales." This new chapter for the band is a sonic journey that expands and enriches their musical experience. Giacomo Pallaver - founder, composer Sebastiano Cecchini - Drums Matteo Tomaselli - keyboards, guitar Giacomo Toniolli - bass, keyboards, guitar Andrea Garofalo - bass, guitar Giovanni Rasera - keyboards, guitar

Search Add 2 Sardineta Band formed around 1977, with musicians from [a1990123] and [a3653187]. Their style was very close to early [a1235971], trying to perform a repertoire close to the people, reclaiming the streets performance and the spirit of popular romerias. The music of Sardineta was a blend of Catalonian rumba, salsa, pasodoble, cha-cha-cha, jotas, habaneras or rock, adding some theatrical manners and a libertarian attitude. After a single published in 1978, they've released a self-titled LP in 1979. They definitely disbanded in 1980.

Search Add 2 Mitzpah Mitzpah is a short-lived duo formed in Paris in 1981 by two actors of the early European punk scene: Hervé Zénouda (Stinky Toys, Elli & Jacno, Mathématiques Modernes) and Gregory Davidow (performer-singer, expelled from Hungary in 1978 and founder of the first Eastern bloc punk band, Spions). That summer they recorded demos with the valuable help of the Modern Guy's, including Yann Le Ker. Forty years later, never having forgotten this aborted project, Zénouda decided to re-record all the tracks by re-contacting the original musicians, with the idea of keeping the spirit of the time.

Search Add 2 Ravindra Katoti Ravindra Katoti Born in a family of music lovers in the year 1969, Ravindra started learning Hindustani classical Harmonium at the age of eight. Since then he has been the disciple of Harmonium Legend Pandit Rambhau Bijapure. He performed Guru Pooja on Akshaya Triteeya in the year 1991. The blessings and guidance of his Guru, and his own sincere efforts, have moulded him into a versatile and brilliant Harmonium player. Ravindra's Harmonium solo playing is marked by presentation in gayaki anga along with elaborate exploration of the theme in lucid alap, brilliant layakari, and clear tanakari. Achieving volume control by manipulating bellows is prominently noticeable in his rendition. He is equally proficient in rendering khayal, thumri, dhun, and natyageet.
