Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025

Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Sunni Nash Sunny Nash Sunny Nash began a music career at age 15 when she met Houston’s KYOK radio celebrity and media personality, George Nelson, who presented her a scholarship for winning the Miss Texas High Contest in 1965; she was a sophomore in high school. For her talent competition, she sang a medley of the 1964 R&B hit, ”Every Little Bit Hurts,” and the 1954 jazz standard, “Misty.” During the summer of 1966, George Nelson booked Nash to sing jazz and blues live on KYOK broadcasts with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra at the El Dorado Ballroom and Ray Barnett's Cinder Club with John Roberts and the Hurricanes. Nash shared Houston stages with blued-eyed soul singer, Roy Head, and R&B teen group, Archie Bell & the Drells. After she graduated high school in 1967, KTSA radio celebrity, Ricci Ware, arranged for Nash to audition for Abe Epstein Enterprises in San Antonio as a studio musician, background vocalist and recording artist. In 1968, Abe Epstein released Nash's country blues recording, “I Am Nothing Without You,” written by Ricky "Güero Polkas" Davila, then a songwriter for Epstein Studios and also a DJ at San Antonio's KEDA Radio Jalapeno, the nation's only conjunto radio station. Dubbed “Miss Soulsational” by Epstein, Nash was a Gulf Coast sensation from Texas to Florida singing a mix of blues, country and Tejano music. Nash went back to Houston in 1969 and got studio work writing, arranging and laying tracks, and singing in local nightclubs, and performing on ABC's "Dialing for Dollars," accompanied on piano by Paul Schmidtt. In 1972, Brunswick Records signed Nash as a studio musician, songwriter and recording artist. With Curtis Mayfield’s Super Fly soundtrack trio, headed by drummer, Quinton Joseph, Nash co-wrote and recorded “The 3rd Movement,” which now has a new generation of worldwide cult followers of old-school deep funk. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1977, Nash was a vocalist, keyboardist, percussionist and dancer with Johnny Nash’s 1978 “I Can See Clearly Now” tour of the British Isles. Nash worked with Odell Brown, Marvin Gaye’s music director and songwriting partner of “Let’s Get It On.” In 1990, Nash wrote, produced and scored a University of Texas film, “We Have Something To Say,” nominated for a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. The film’s theme song won Nash a People’s Choice Nomination for Best Song for a Sammy Davis Songwriting Award. Currently, Nash is producing a catalogue of her original, previously unpublished songs, some arranged by Terry Battle, including "Nothing Really Wrong," now on SoundCloud

Search Add 2 Hardcore Tamburo Hardcore Tamburo is a collective of drummers and percussionists who performs on the basis of minimal electronic music. The instrument that every musician has is a simple metal bin. The tribality of the resulting music, which sometimes chases the song form, is as archaic as it is futuristic, post-atomic and artisanal. For this reason the sound of the Hardcore Tamburo can be defined as "industrial primitive". The number of components of the project varies according to the situation, so it is modular. In Hardcore Tamburo some well-known drummers play in the Italian independent music scene. However, their faces and their names are not known, each component has an identification number and it is with that number that everyone is recognized. The project is born from the ashes of post-punk and new wave, but also looks at the actuality of a certain type of electronic alienation.

Search Add 2 Practical Senses Practical Senses band formed in 2009 in Ukraine. Encompasses various genres such as coldwave, electro, post-punk, synth-pop The history of the band dates back to 2009, when Yuriy Baygush (at that time a member of the band Soundform) became acquainted with another musician — Olexandr Mylnikov. The main topics of their interest were keyboards and musician equipment. At the beginning of 2009 they created the first demo-record “Harpsichord and noise of the Marine Waves”, using chiefly vintage analog synthesizers and drum-machines. Musical cooperation was maintained through the internet and rare joint rehersals, as the musicians were separated from each other by the distance of 450 kilometers. At the same time, Practical Senses and the band Soundform recordered together cover-version of the songs “Corridor of Choristers”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian band “Scriabin”, and “Cold Solitude”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the band “Mournful Gust”) Both songs were released on the official music albums (collections) of the mentioned bands. The group Practical Senses also wrote background music for a game “”Drug the candy” (Apple iOS game) The first concert, for which session musicians were also involved, took place in 2010 and the first band’s album was released in 2011. In 2014 an independent German label “Aldi-punk” became interested in the band and released it’s second album «Songs cycle about the decisive king» with a limited edition of cassetes. The album consisted of songs in English and Ukrainian and was sold and distributed mainly in the countries through Europe. After this, due to the recording of a new album and restructuring of the band “Practical Senses” worked temporarily only in the studio. In 2017 Practical Senses released a new album which was it’s third and entirely Ukrainian-language album. The lyrics of the songs were poems of Ukrainian writers including I. Franko, O. Bilash, M. Vingranovsky and others. After experimenting with different genres for some years, he ultimately fell in love with the combination of classic house sounds of Roland 909 and 808, soul vocals and layered chords.
