Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 DJ CarpeNoctum Sander Van Thiel I like to create experimental music, with all kinds of vague influences. I started listening to harder music at the age of 14. When I turned 15 I bought a Hardcore CD and started listening to it a lot. Then when I became 18 I started to produce experimental harder music, after a while I discovered that Industrial Hardcore,Terror and Speedcore are my styles. Early in 2012 I started to produce and mix way better then I did before. I bought my first mixer around summer of 2012. I got better and better, made some good sounding DJ-sets which resulted in 3 bookings in 2013. I produce Terror and hardcore(Experimental) and darker styles like industrial. I do DJ & Live acts, the genre's are: Drum n Bass, Crossbreed, Industrial hardcore, Hardcore, Terror and Speedcore

Search Add 7 Birgitta Bäck The Borås girl Birgitta Bäck (b. 1936 at Landala in Borås) lined up in the then local talent hunt "Place for us" in 1950 and even then had to perform in front of a large audience. She went to Stockholm the following year to try her luck; worked as a housekeeper with Karl Gerhard, took singing lessons and participated in Stockholm's Lucia train in 1953. Sang with Karl-Olof Finnberg's and Thore Svanerud's orchestras, but returned to Borås in 1955. Birgitta then sang first a season with Leif Holmbergs and then one with Bosse Lidén's orchestras in Borås - her husband Torgny Nilsson also played for a short time with Bosse Lidén, then with Kettil Ohlson's and Leif Kronlund's orchestras in the capital . Trumpeter King Arne Lamberth heard Birgitta during a rehearsal and the result was a contract with the record company Joker and an extensive folk park tour in the summer of 1960. She was a military field artist in 1962 and then sang for Hans Wahlgren's orchestra. Lived in Sandared for many years, married Bengt Nyman.

Search Add 7 Cavan Grogan Cavan John Grogan CAVAN GROGAN (February 18, 1949 – February 15, 2020) Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers (also known as Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers, Crazy Cavan "N" The Rhythm Rockers, Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers) are a Teddy Boy band from South Wales. The band formed in 1970, and has still been actively touring and recording. The band appeared in the 1980 film Blue Suede Shoes which detailed the revival of 1950s rock 'n' roll music scene at the time. The first incarnation of the band was formed in 1964 by Cavan Grogan (vocals), Lyndon Needs (lead guitar) and Terry Walley (rhythm guitar) under the name "Count Dracula and the Vampires". In 1968, joined by Brian Thomas (piano) and Don Kinsella (bass), they took the name "The Sundogs" which they borrowed from Alan Freed who was known as "Moondog" and combined it with their taste for Sun Records, a label which they used to buy at that time. Then in 1970, with the addition of Mike Coffey (drums), they took the name "Crazy Cavan 'n' the Rhythm Rockers", a name which has endured. In 1973, the band formed its own record label, Crazy Rhythm Records (named after their own description of their music) and released their debut single, "Teddy Boy Boogie" (backed with "Bop Little Baby"). In 1975 they released their first album Crazy Rhythm on the Dutch Rockhouse label. In 1976, they signed with Charly Records in the UK, and released their second album, Rockability.

The billing on her debut solo single, “Don’t Ask Me To Love Again,” is: “Ann Bogus of the Fabulous Dominoes", nobody would hear from her for another four years. In 1974, she got a deal with 20th Century. With producer/drummer Joseph Wilson and his “Faux Noir” band, and now calling herself Annie Blue, she cut “Bottle Of Wine” b/w “Lay Me Down,” and then in 1975, “Do You Wanna Do A Thing” b/w “Loving Kind of Woman.”

Search Add 7 George Peter Kinyonga Tanzanian song-writer, singer and guitarist. Most famous as co-founder of [a1379606] with his brother [a2706972]. Born in Tanga, Tanzania in 1950 ( the exact date is unknown but George usually stated February 22nd). He and his brother joined [a1969311] in Tanga in 1966. In 1970/1971 the brothers moved to Arusha, Tanzania, and formed [a4223221] (with their brother [a6986145] and others). Late in 1971 the band relocated to Kenya and changed their name to [a1379606]. He stayed with the group when most of the members left to form [a3599429] but then in 1980, disagreements with his brother led to George leaving and starting his own band [a2672920] (named after a 1970s dance rhythm). The split proved short-lived and George rejoined [a1379606] within a year. George did, however, keep the "Orchestre Jobiso" name to record his own songs outside of the main group. He died of tuberculosis on December 24th 1992 in Nairobi, Kenya, aged 42.

Search Add 7 Atanas Kolarovski Atanas Kolarovski (1926-2022) was born in Dračevo (near Skopje), Macedonia, of a family of expert dancers and musicians. From his early youth, Atanas had the opportunity to observe and participate in the dances of Serbians, Albanians, and Gypsies who live in the Skopje area. He performed with the amateur group, Koko Racin. After World War II, he danced for two years with the Yugoslavian Army Ensemble. With the ensemble he was able to travel all over Yugoslavia, studying and learning regional dances and dance styles of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and the two atonomies, Banat and Kosmet, whose cultures are completely different from the other six republics. He was asked to help form Tanec, the Macedonian State Folk Ensemble, where he remained for 19 years as artistic director, choreographer, and lead solo dancer, traveling the world for 16 of those years. Atanas became a famed researcher, choreographer, consultant, and program director for many performing ensembles, such as Koko Racin, The Army Ensemble, Tanec, Ensemble Karpuc Pionerski, Blagoj Sosolcef, and Vlado Tasievski. Atanas Kolarovski Atanas Kolarovski on a button He has researched and collected dances and folk music from the different areas of southern Yugoslavia, including Macedonia, south Serbia, and Shiptar-Albania. In 1964, Atanas made his first teaching tour of the United States, Belgium, Germany, Holland, and Switzerland, awakening interest in Macedonian dance and music around the country and becoming known as "the man with the golden legs." After the second tour, he was reviewed as "the untiring teacher, researcher, chroeographer, consultant . . . a leading ambassador of Macedonia." Since then, besides having taught at all major folk dance camps throughout north America, he has also taught extensively in Europe and east Asia. A great musician, Atanas plays the accordion, the tupan, the kaval, the zurla, and drums. Since the 1970s, he, along with his wife, Ljupka (who was also a lead dancer with Tanec), and daughter has made his home in Seattle, Washington, where, for a while, he operated a successful ethnic restaurant, "Yugoslavia," featuring old-country style cuisine. He still tries to return to his home in Macedonia yearly and still organizes and conducts tours to his native country. Atanas has taught Macedonian and Serbian dances in Bangkok, Holland, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the United States.
