Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Their highly original work has gained them extensive recognition both here and abroad. They have evolved a revue form with short plays, song,s dances, stories tung together as a child might freely associate. In place of typical sets and costumes made with theatrical paints and fabrics the paper bag players use easily obtained everyday things, paper bags, cardboard boxes and household objects, with these simple, very familiar materials the paper bag players create a complete theatre fantasy.

Search | Add | 6 | A-Tack | A-Tack is the first Hip-Hop group to come out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It consisted of DJ, emcee, and producer DJ Peechy (later shorted to Peech), DJ Special K, and emcee T.A. Wiz. They released a couple of singles, each getting 200-300 pressings. They recorded a handful songs and performed local shows in the mid-late 80's. They are credited as pioneers who opened the doors for other artists and groups in Milwaukee, such as Kidd Crab, DJ Blade, MIDI, 20/20 Boys, Kali Tribe, Strick Luv, Female DSC, all of them having collaborated with DJ Peechy. T.A. Wiz, a highly respected and influential emcee, was later senselessly murdered in cold blood. Peech traveled to Atlanta, changed his stage name to Speech, and started the multi-platinum, Grammy award winning Hip-Hop collective, Arrested Development, who still actively record and tour to this day. He also has a successful solo career, wrote the book "What Is Success?", and starred in the film 16 Bars. Special K joined Speech and served as Arrested Development's production manager and DJ, and produced some of their songs in the 90's. Special K now goes by DJ Kemit and is a successful producer and touring DJ.

At turns provocative, poignant and funny, Simon’s songs pour out of an informed social conscience and a chequered storybook of personal experience. Born in Dublin – the third of six children – to an Irish Catholic Family, Simon was brought to England in his first year and raised in the 1950’s and 60’s, the son of a Lancashire coal-miner. With several careers in fields as diverse as financial sales and dyslexia consultancy (“I had kids to feed”), Simon is now focused on his “tertiary career as a singer/songwriter/guitar player”. Search | Add | 6 | Ривущие Струны | Roaeing Strings (Ривущие Струны, sometimes stylized as RИVUЩИЕ STRUNЫ) is a Russian experimental noise-rock band, formed in 2006 by Vova Terekh, Lyosha Bortnichuk and Raf Badretdinov. Strings are playing noisy and energetic songs with provocative bastardized lyrics, inspired by the 60s psychedelia, garage rock and classic Detroit bands like [a=MC5], [a=The Stooges], etc. The sound and artistic image is based on the composite character of an underground Soviet punk band of the 1980s, banned and repressed by the authorities. Terekh started playing punk at the end of the 1980s when he formed Khlam in Bryansk. Search | Add | 6 | Gavin Watson | Gavin Watson was born in London in 1965 and grew up on a council estate in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He bought a Hanimex camera from Woolworths in his early teens and began to take photographs. Upon leaving school at the age of sixteen, Watson moved back to London and became a darkroom assistant at Camera Press. He continued to photograph his younger brother [a=Neville Watson] and their group of skinhead friends in High Wycombe. The ‘Wycombe Skins’ were part of the working-class skinhead subculture brought together by a love of ska music and fashion. Although skinhead style had become associated with the right-wing extremism of political groups like the National Front in the 1970s, Watson’s photographs document a time and place where the subculture was racially mixed and inclusive. His photographs were published in the books Skins (1994) and Skins and Punks (2008), and the director Shane Meadows cited them as an inspiration for his film This is England (2006). In 2011 and 2012 Watson photographed campaigns for Dr Martens and began a project with the singer Plan B.

Search | Add | 6 | Shopping Trolley | "I am unashamedly nostalgic" sings Melanie Pappenheim on the luxurious 'Bring back the Mary Hopkin days', one of 10 songs penned by John Miller on Shopping Trolley's eponymous debut album released on Hannibal Records in 1989 (Hannibal HNBC1349). Shopping Trolley was the band Miller led for several years in the 1980s and early 1990s. John Miller's work aches with a nostalgia for a golden age of English and American rock and pop music often of a somewhat off-centre variety. It is the world of the late Sixties/early Seventies and the annus mirabilis was 1971; reflected in the release by CBS of the double album compilation 'Rockbuster'; an event which Miller credits as a life-changing experience. John Miller's work over his entire career, starting with the superb Painswick Tapes in the late 70s/early 80s and continuing right through to the recent release of 'Preference', captures this era in style with a back catalogue of original songs and excellently judged cover versions. Around the age of 2 in Cobham, Surrey, John Miller began listening to records and hitting things. The lack of a drumkit partially diverted his musical inclinations from furniture to the piano, which he started learning formally at the age of 6. Gradually teaching himself to play by ear, he began making his own jazz/blues/pop concoctions and playing for various shows, concerts and plays. He had also become interested in making tape recordings using keyboards, drums, voices and biscuit tins. In 1989 he wrote and produced the 'Shopping Trolley' album for Hannibal Records, and he has created many more albums for his own 'Polenta' label featuring new and archival material. His work based in London has been highly diverse, with solo and group appearances and gigs with Stackridge, Van Morrison, Jacqui Dankworth, Simon Rackham (as 'Ornamental Balustrade') and many others. He is currently collaborating with the drummer Ben Reed in the duo 'Cardboard'.
