Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

He was a director of the Glasgow music publishing house of Pattersons, and one of the founders of the [a6824747], formed in November 1923. Search Add 6 Dél-Alföldi Saxophone Ensemble The ensemble was formed by three young sax-players in 1992, all born and, by and large, still living in the Southern and South-Eastern end of the Great Hungarian Plains. In fact they derive their name from the region of their birth. ("Dél-alföldi" means "of the Southern Plains"). Their common ground is not just a matter of geography, although geography matters too because the corner of Hungary they come from practically borders on the Balkans and that is also something that you can hear in their music. The present personnel crystallized in 1997. Their repertoire includes folk arrangements, traditional pieces, and jazzy, almost danceable compositions with their roots in the rhythmic world of Hungarian and Eastern European folk music and jazz. Their musical choices are illustrated by their instruments too: the bag pipe, the hit gardon (a percussion instrument resembling the shape of a cello), traditional recorders, and the "körtemuzsika" (a special Hungarian flute) are in their arsenal just as well as a unique vocal effect called tuva singing. In the singular compositional concepts of the three saxophonists just as in the free parts one can point out highly individual ideas. However, the influence of Mihály Dresch’s and György Szabados’ music on their approach is undeniable. Members of the band: Béla Ágoston - vocal/saxophone/clarinet Róbert Benkő - double bass Béla Pöcök Burány - saxophon Tamás Geröly - drums Balázs Dongó Szokolay - saxophon/flute/clarinet Discography: 1997. Dél-alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes: Esthajnal 1999. Dél-alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes: Kalamona 2004. Dél-alföldi Szaxofonegyüttes: Tótágas

Search Add 6 Deerborn Deerborn is a new project on the danish music scene exploring the lines between folk rock and alt. country. The band consists of members from Odense and Copenhagen. With a background in bands like Rock Hard Power Spray and Ave, it is clear that we deal with musicians who have something on their minds and they know what it takes to get it through to the audience. Their sound leans towards old favourites like Neil Young, Pearl Jam and My Morning Jacket. With great melody pieces from both guitar, moog and violin they embrace a playful and very exciting universe all wrapped up a very distinct sound. The energy that shines through the band’s live concerts is rather unique and has a certain way of drawing in the listeners and taking them on a journey through the whole spectre of emotions. The debut album will be released February 19th, 2016.

Amazing and eclectic combination - the aesthetics of library and cinematic music of 60s and 70s, warm instruments of cold space, and crystal clear retro-futuristic sound that sinks into the heart.

Search Add 6 Thildo Gama Thildo dos Santos Gama Thildo Gama (Salvador, June 5, 1945 - Salvador, December 8, 2011) was a Brazilian musician, artist, teacher and auditor. He was the first guitarist of [a=Raul Seixas] and one of the pioneers of the Bahian rock. In addition to being a musician, he was also a fiscal auditor of the Bahia State Treasury Department, a university professor and, more recently, became a clown, creating the characters "Zig Zig Zaa" and "Tô de Boa". Thildo began playing with his friend Raul in his teens and were two of the first rockers of Salvador, still in the 1950s. In 1962, they formed the group Relâmpagos Do Rock, along with Enelmar Chagas. The band quickly became popular in Salvador. Shortly thereafter, Chagas leaves the group and is replaced by Thildo's brother, Délcio Gama. Still in 1962, Os Relâmpagos Do Rock appear on TV Itapoan. The recording of this presentation is in the album O Baú Do Raul (1992). According to the magazine A Bahia, the band Os Relâmpagos Do Rock was the best set of rock of all the state. With the success, the group grew and was renamed The Panthers, now counting with [a=Mariano Lanat], [a=Carleba] and Carlô (neighbor of Raul, who stayed in the band until 1964), besides Raul Seixas and Thildo. Thildo left the group in 1967, not being present in Raul Seixas' first album, "Raulzito E Os Panteras", in 1967. He also participated in other bands such as Thildo E Seu Bossas E Os Jovens, and released the compact Thildo Gama E Os Terríveis by the Astor, in 1967. This compact had on side A, the song 'Bonequinha', version of Waldir Serrão for 'Pretty Woman', of [a=Roy Orbison]; On the B side there was 'Você É Inspiração' (Jeff Cezar and Thildo Gama), both songs came with the name surf, considered the first recording of a Bahian artist to designate his production within the subgenre surf music. In the 80's Thildo also participated in a group folkloric group from Bahia, making presentations in Italy and Chile. Thildo was always present in the musical scene of Salvador: he played in bands, performed several shows and recorded independent albums. In 2002, together with the auditor also fiscal Francisco Benjamin, formed the pair Beja & Gama that touched in dancing shows. In 2009, Gama performed at the Virada Cultural de São Paulo with Os Panteras, at which time they played the first Seixas album in its entirety. He died of a brain cancer, is buried in the Bosque da Paz cemetery in Salvador.

Search Add 6 Valentina Vuksic Valentina Vuksic is a computer artist and programmer based in Zürich. Her work is a personal exploration of the possibilities afforded by articulated hard- and software mediation. She approaches computer systems via inductive microphones for magnetic fields, so-called “telephone adapters." With choreographies for software and computer elements, she utilizes these as actors in software/noise pieces for, and in, computers. Vuksic considers time and space of computer processor and memory as levels of reality. Software being processed creates own temporal and spatial dimensions, which are staged for a public. She aims for a sensual experience of the analytical sphere becoming concrete, where logic encounters the physical world. The mechanic noises serve as mediators to a public. They reveal in an immediate way the activities taking place between computer processes in the widest sense and the computer electronics they are running on.

Search Add 6 Comer Mullins Traditional-style guitar-banjo player based in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Comer "Moon" Mullins (he was given that nickname while serving in the Air Force) was born on May 11, 1916 in Sassafrass, Kentucky. His father worked in the coal mines, and the family was large (12 children). Mullins bought his first guitar around the of 12, after being inspired by a movie featuring "The Singing Cowboy," Gene Autry. He developed a unique thumbpicking stye where the thumb played the bass line, the index finger picked the lead line, the middle finger added a tenor line, and the ring finger added alto. This technique allowed for fuller "ragtime"-type harmonies, and he made an instructional tape that was available through Mel Bay Publications. He was a member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, and performed frequently at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, Arkansas. Mr. Mullins died from leukemia on March 16, 2016.

Search Add 6 Martin Kirkegaard Martin Kirkegaard Biography Martin Kirkegaard (1976 - ) is a danish contemporary folk musician rooted in the improvisational aspect of the music based on the narrative storytelling. “real music should always have a real story to tell. A story that emanates from the moment of conception” he comments. His melodies and sketches come from the free space between his instrument and himself. Though he comes from a Blues and Jazz background he considered himself a folk musician but draws upon everything he hears. “Don`t box me in” he says. ”The world consists of sounds just waiting to get articulated”. In the light of this his travel to Africa has made a big and lasting impression on him and his way of looking at his instrument. Especially the string instruments of West Africa has inspired his guitarwork quiet a bit. And together with his travel to Scotland and The United States he has gathered a connection (in his mind) between the different folk music of the continents. He believes that every music is connected one way or the other. Of course he has his heroes (Robbie Basho, Ali Farka Toure, Abdullah Ibrahim, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Miles Davis, Ravi Shankar, Albert Ayler ect.) and his favorite patterns and colors but he always try to remodel, disassemble and translate the sounds he hears. On rare occasions he can play a covertune but he prefers to write/create/play everything himself. “It doesn`t fell right to me playing other people`s music. Maybe it is because I know it is not mine. I fell it is some others story that I am telling - it is a kind of an alienation”. Martin also believes in obstructions in music. He considers obstructions as a remedy for creating. And his most significant obstruction must be that he does not work with overdubs. Everything must be played as heard in real time. “That way I can make my music more authentic. I feel that I can be present in the moment on a hole other level. Maybe it is considered “old school” but I like it that way. You know, it is just a man and his instrument – a craftsman in process” he says. For many years he played in the trio DaFuGa that toured around Denmark for almost 8 years. Since then he has worked as a solo guitarist. In this context he has played concerts in Denmark at museums, festivals, small venues ect. The response has been surprising good (considered the somewhat narrow music genre) and his repeating patterns and almost hypnotic way of playing has left a lasting impression on the audience. Tar Gui is his official solo album debut (on vinyl) and consists of 10 pieces for guitar and 2 for banjo. It is an album full of decolorization, beauty spots, open wounds, small animals, love, rashes and other qualities. Here, no robot can hit the real edges of the music. It's music between man and wood.
