Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Husk O'Hare Anderson "Husk" O'Hare American bandleader and booking agent (born October 27, 1896 in Chicago, Illinois - died April 19, 1970) In the early 1920s, Anderson "Husk" O'Hare was a Chicago-based promoter and booking agent of jazz bands. At some point, he and his partner Sol Weisner managed about forty bands that played in Chicago and nearby summer resorts. Husk O'Hare led his own band, [a=Husk O'Hare's Super Orchestra of Chicago], that recorded for [l=Gennett]. Another band, [a=Husk O'Hare And His Footwarmers], a.k.a. [a=Husk O'Hare's Wolverines], recorded for [l=Vocalion (2)] in 1928. A third band that played Davenport, Iowa, in late 1923, called Husk O'Hare's Peacock Strutters, does not seem to have cut records. In 1922, O'Hare arranged the first [l=Gennett] recording session for what he called [a=Friar's Society Orchestra] because they were then playing in Chicago's well-known Friar's Club, making sure to list himself as their director. The following year, this group became famous as [a=The New Orleans Rhythm Kings].

Search Add 2 The Unhooked Generation Unhooked Generation AKA The Unhooked Generation Show Band, were an eight piece group formed out of Jerry Green’s group The Sonic Sounds in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Along with Jerry the band included several other members that would progress to make a mark in the business. In the early day the group rehearsed hard and played any and all the gigs they could around their home town. The band’s members waxed and waned over the years but included, Ron Lewis, Linda Blakely, Ervin Garr, Angelo Lovely, David Pepper, Donna Mason, Crystal Hals, Barry Johnson, Fred Thomas, Marion Hester, Larry Smith, John Clay & Izzy Sutton. They built up a cool reputation as a great show band, playing a great funk sound in the Earth Wind & Fire vein. In time they cut a number of tracks but none made it to vinyl until they saw posthumous release as a CD LP ‘Thanks for the memories’ in 2001. Ron Lewis decided to release two of the Lo-Fi deep funk sides from their catalogue that he had been asked for many years for in 2016 on single

Search Add 2 The Vladivostoks Vladivostoks Ahoy fellow pirates!

Search Add 2 291outer space 291outer space is a side project of the [a3239107] collective of musicians and music producers, born from the friendship and collaboration between the bass player/band leader [a4635943] and the DJ/producer [a7098445] alias Ivan Cibien who, several years ago, started reworking applied music recordings of the band turning to electronic space trail and bringing a new range of original production into being. It's an «imaginative and cinematically suitable sound» as well as overtly dance-oriented, retaining the idea of a fusion language in which the organic and the inorganic combine, ready to be blasted off towards hidden galaxies, across cosmic rubble, funk influences, a kraut tinge, and sci-fi surroundings.

English translation of the rear cover notes of their sole release "LORD'S FAMILY was a music community that was founded in Nuremberg in 1970 and existed from 1971 to 1974 in Beilngries in the Altmühltal in Bavaria. The group's mystical and ecological identity, which was one of the first bands to combine German-language lyrics with idiosyncratic music, made it a forerunner of the ecological, green movement. The family was inspired by their psychedelic experience, the influence of Christian mysticism and Eastern spirituality. From Munich to Heidelberg, from Erlangen to Berlin, LORD'S FAMILY won numerous fans through their live concerts, but never recorded an album. The musicians hardly cared about the music market and the musical mainstream. Their special feature was the combination of improvisation as a continuous spontaneous re-creation with composed choruses and narrative texts as well as the integration of Bavarian folklore.TV stations as Radio Bremen and, the Bavarian Radio and numerous print media had reported on the artistic, social and ecological experiment of the Bavarian commune, the "Monks in Jeans." The municipality even published its own newspaper "Family Press", to earn money for the "Schlössl", an old hunting lodge that LORD'S FAMILY rented in Beilngries until 1974. Although the band was not part of the record market, they already made forerunners of video clips of the improvised music. Many bands from the Krautrock era made station during their tours in the "Schlössl", which was followed by regular return visits of the music-making community.Musically, the musicians moved somewhere between Amon Düül II and Popl Vuh, but the improvisation experiments of the band were deeply independent. In 1974, the municipality dissolved, from the former members Sepp Kuffer and Georg Frisch are still musically active.Sireena Records is proud to present this record. The music comes from tapes owned by Sepp Kuffer, who certainly do not have high end quality but are a real sound document - from a creative time, when so much was possible!"

Search Add 2 Dark Skies Have Fallen Dark Skies Have Fallen was a five-piece metalcore band from Naples, Florida, originally formed in the winter of 2003. Their sound blended metal and hardcore, drawing influence from black metal, death metal, and hardcore punk. The band was known for dark riffing, melodic harmonies, heavy drumming, and harsh vocals. The group began with Lafe Flynn, Adam Whited, and Brodie Wheeler, practicing with just two guitars and vocals while writing early material. Soon after, Nick (drums) and Joe (bass), both from the band Evil Existence, joined temporarily to help the band perform their first live show. Drums were later taken over by Adam’s brother, Chris, while the bass role shifted multiple times: first filled briefly by Pedro (ex-With Vengeance), and then by Adam himself, who continued contributing to guitar writing as well. The lineup solidified with the addition of guitarist Wayne Lai. With this formation, the band played numerous shows across Naples, Fort Myers, and Miami, steadily building momentum and seeking to expand their reach. After a year of writing and performing, the band decided to take on a new identity. In October 2004, the band officially changed its name to [a8102470]. This was a project that was active for approximately another year, before the members later regrouped under a new name, [a4059038], active until 2017, and officially disbanded in 2019.
