Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Maria Fołtyn Maria Fołtyn-Świerzyńska Polish soprano and opera director, born 28 January 1928 in Radom, Poland and died 2 December 2012 in Warsaw, Poland.
Search Add 2 Aviation Weather Shane Sutton, the singular creative force behind Aviation Weather's instrumental, astral sound, gleaned his earliest inspiration from the formidable guitar-driven rifts common among rock and punk bands of the early 80's, then progressing to more complicated instrumental and jazz music in the styles of mogwai, sigor ros, and tortoise. Las Vegas, 2000, was where Aviation Weather was born. Much of their music still hints at the melancholy shrouding the city while they lived there. In 2004, after a brief foray in San Diego, Aviation Weather settled down in the much-greener pastures of Portland, Ore., where they found fertile creative ground to further evolve their music. Here, AW is able to tap into the treasure of experiences and create music that resonates with a broad spectrum of listeners. To live in different cities creates a wide range of emotions that you don’t really get from visiting, Portland has always felt like the right place to live permanently. The seasons, the rain, the views, the feel of the city, the laid-back attitude. All of these things inspire our creativity.

Search Add 2 Dario Raucea Dario Raucea Dario was born in Siracusa (Syracuse), Italy, in 1912, to Italian parents. He died in Rome in 1988. He began his studies at the age of 10. Alfredo Casella first recognised his outstanding talent, and Raucea studied with him and Bardi in Rome. He then studied in Vienna with Professor Weingarten and was a pupil of Emil von Sauer. Sauer said of him, when Dario was twenty: "I greet in you the great pianist of the new generation". Dario was widely acclaimed in Italy, Europe, South Africa, England and Australia. His memory was prodigious and included the whole of Chopin's output, the thirty-two sonatas of Beethoven, Bach's "Forty-Eight", all the piano works of Liszt and a great many works by Schumann, Schubert, Brahms and others. A press comment from 1949: “Never have I heard such ravishing piano-playing as the overwhelming performance by Dario Raucea. This incomparable Italian master is superior to any artist that has visited us during the last ten years.” - Prof. Dr. B. Kok, in “Die Volksblad,” 13th April, 1949. He toured South Africa in 1954/55, where he drew many comments on his playing, like this: "For mourners who perpetually bemoan the passing of the giants of the keyboards, there was much comfort to be obtained at the Concert last night. A young man whose fingers have the speed of light and the ability to draw forth tones of enchanting beauty, made his first appearance here. His name is Dario Raucea. Mark it well, for you will hear it mentioned in exalted places before long". A note from his nephew, posted on YouTube in 2023: "His wife and my grandmother was Laetitia Boschi Huber of Swiss origin who was a poet in her youth as well as a multifaceted and very intelligent woman with a thousand interests, so much so that in her old age she was one of the first Italian women entrepreneurs (a well-known Italian weekly magazine, "Gente", made an article about her together with Anna Bonomi Bolchini as an example of Italian women entrepreneurs). He stopped playing the piano from one day to the next. I remember when I was little, I asked him why, and he replied that if he hadn't practised for one day only, he would have noticed, after two days, his admirers would have noticed, and after three days everyone would have noticed. He adored me as I was his first nephew, but he had no temperament as easy as all artists; he could play anything of any composer, but then he was not able to cook 2 fried eggs. Besides Beethoven, he listened to Mahler, Brahms, Haydn, Liszt and Rachmaninoff, of which he said it was difficult to play his works." Notable concerts he performed (incomplete list): Roma. Sala Accademica di via dei Greci. Tuesday 8th March 1938. h16.00 - Solenne tornata accademica in commemorazione di Maurice Ravel Roma. Teatro Adriano. Wednesday 2nd May 1945. Ciclo di sinfonie, concerti e musiche celebri : concerto orchestrale diretto da Robert Lawrence, con la partecipazione del pianista Dario Raucea Cape Town. City Hall. Thursday 2nd June 1949. h 20:00 + Wednesday 15th June / Tuesday 21st June / Wednesday 22nd June. Cape Town. Stellenbosch. 17th June 1949 Birmingham. C.B.S.O. Tuesday 1st March 1955. h 19:30 London. Royal Albert Hall. Saturday 10 September 1955. h 19:30 - Prom 43 - Henry Wood Promenade Concerts Sydney. Celebrity Recordings. 20 May 1957. h 10:45 Sydney. Granados. 29 October 1958

Search Add 2 Jeffery Piccinini Jeff Piccinini, also known by his alias, Geoff Myles, began his professional music career in London playing bass with Stormtrooper a proto type punk band he formed with his long time friend Nigel Hutchings. After the demise of that band he joined the famous punk band Chelsea. Jeff left Chelsea and started The Smart with long time friend David Martin and former rhythm guitarist for Chelsea In San Francisco Jeff started a pop trio in mid 90's called the Merciful who released one album but faded away in 1999. Longtime friend and co-writer James Sant Andrea and Jeff reformed the band as Rovanna & the Ravens in 2005 to record six songs for a feature film "Spirits of the Road". Besides his distinguished musical career, Jeff became a freelance director of photography and videography and has worked widely on numerous television shows, documentaries and independent features, including his own independent film, "Spirits of the Road". He also wrote and performed most of the music for the soundtrack of his film. Revenant finds Jeff playing in a modern rock trio heavily influenced by classic British rock and the power trios of the past together with his punk rock roots.

Search Add 2 Walter Taylor III Walter began his music experience began at a young age. He played drums at age 11, and his bass-playing stepfather, Ashley Monroe Taylor Jr., brought 13-year-old Taylor along for his first club gig. He wasn’t old enough to be there, so whenever the band took a break from playing, he waited outside. Taylor, who spent his youth in Kansas City before moving back to Oklahoma, eventually tired of playing jazz and blues and wanted to move on to other genres. He returned to his roots later in life when he realised his deep personal history with jazz and blues and their underlying connection to spirituality.
