Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Sean Hicke A rising talent in San Diego, bassist and composer Sean Hicke quickly found his place in the local jazz scene, frequently playing with several of San Diego’s best and most imaginative musicians. Sean’s bass playing is informed by a musical upbringing that included punk, funk, jazz, musical theater, and classical music. His years of study on saxophone, clarinet, electric bass, and voice give him a melodic approach and a holistic perspective of music that he takes with him every time he plays the upright bass. An avid composer, it did not take long for Sean to develop a unique compositional voice. His original music builds upon the tradition of creative improvisatory music and is characterized by the juxtaposition of folk-like melodies with adventurous harmonic soundscapes. Sean recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University. He maintains a small private studio and can be found playing at many of San Diego’s beloved jazz venues every week. His debut album, Sunflower Sutra, was released on January 6, 2019.

Among the many awards obtained by Blas Martínez in these fifty years of artistic career, the First Prize of the Contest for young lyric singers of laa RAI (Radio Televisión Italiana) stands out; a second prize in the Amici di Verdi Competition in Parma; finalist of the Verdi Competition in Busseto; Merano Contest Prize; and winner, ex-aequo, of the Francisco Viñas contest in Barcelona. In all the cities and countries in which he has been, already mentioned before, Blas Martínez has been able to display the richness of timbre and the power of his vocal skills, which are characterized by great versatility. This diversity of registers has allowed him to play roles in such diverse works as Manon Lescaut, La Traviatta, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Nabucco, Tosca, Mozart's Requiem, etc. Although he has also excelled as an interpreter of popular operettas and operettas and of the repertoire of lyric composers such as Paolo Tosti. He is a specialist in popular Venezuelan music and his classics, about which he has researched profusely. He has shared the stage with people like María Chiara or Franco Bordoni, and the baton of directors like Zubin Mehta or Riccardo Muti has been down.

Brombaugh taught and apprenticed many prominent organ builders, including [a=Bruce Shull], [a=Paul Fritts], and [a=Munetaka Yokota]. In 2022, John earned an Honorary Doctorate from [l=The Oberlin Conservatory Of Music]. Brombaugh first heard a Hammond organ in his early teens, "mesmerized" by a combination of organ and electronics. He eventually studied electrical engineering, earning his Bachelor's from the [l=University Of Cincinnati] in 1960 and Master's in 1963 from [l=Cornell University], specializing in musical acoustics. Shortly after graduation, John began working as a development engineer for the [l=Baldwin Piano Company]. A lifelong passion for classical music soon urged him to focus more specifically on organs. Between 1964 and 1967, John apprenticed with two leading American pipe organ builders at the time, [a=Fritz Noack] and [a=Charles Fisk]; he then served as a journeyman for [a=Rudolf von Beckerath] in Hamburg, Germany (1967–68). In June 1968, after returning to the United States, he launched a new workshop, John Brombaugh & Co., in Germantown, Ohio. In 1977, they mutually agreed to dissolve the partnership; Brombaugh relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where he continued working under the new name, John Brombaugh & Associates, Inc., until his retirement in 2005.

Search Add 2 Verona Beach Verona Beach was synonymous for the violent setting in which the passionate love story of Romeo and Juliet takes place. Violence and passion also can be found in the sound and stage performance of Verona Beach. Influenced by bands like Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Lamb of God and Underoath the band created their own hybrid of metal and hardcore. The band played numerous shows with bands like Walls of Jericho and Face Tomorrow. In the year 2003 the band released a 3 song demo that was very well received. The demo was reviewed as following in the famous underground 'zine HeartAttack: Verona Beach comes out with both guns blazing for their first 3-song demo. This band's angry metal style was present in every note, in every beat, and in every scream. Tight guitar riffs and punishing vocals throughout these songs fit well with the continuous heavy drumming. Like many bands of this genre, drama gets infused in moments of harmony and operatic vocals.

Search Add 2 Ka$h 3 Embassy Rap trio hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Each music genre has a sound, a flavor an essence that makes it uniquely wonderful. Ka$h 3 is hip-hop music at it's best. This group of three, Khash,Tangoh, and N-Trigue, have been making music together since 1994. In that time, the seasoned music veterans have honed a sound that recalls the essence of hip-hop. Born out of lack, hip-hop was an outlet of expression for young African Americans. The expression was sometimes political and socially motivated, a means of providing resistance and a conscious voice to the struggles of an oppressed socio-economic class. The expression was sometimes fun and joyous, an escapist's genre providing a glimpse into the highlife and good times of African American life. Ka$h 3's music is quintessentially hip-hop. They have married the light and the dark, the ups and downs, the triumphs and the tribulations. They're the best hip-hop has to offer in one group of three.

Search Add 2 Lonesome Travelers 'To sum up the Lonesome Travelers, John Thomas Griffith says the laid-back acoustic duo (Griffith along with Paul Sanchez) is just about “American folk music in general.” Quite the change from the pair’s day job: playing guitar in the legendary Southern rock band Cowboy Mouth. Sanchez and Griffith forged ties in the mid-‘80s in the New Orleans music scene. Griffith was then a member of punk group the Red Rockers, and Sanchez, a guitarist in the Backbeats. “We’d always talk about writing songs together and nothing would come of it,” Griffith remembers. The duo eventually began writing songs at Sanchez’s house and putting acoustic club shows featuring their folksy/country/rock blend, but the Travelers were put on hold when Cowboy Mouth was born with lead singer/drummer Fred LeBlanc and original bassist Steve Walters. During a rare break in the demanding Cowboy Mouth schedule, however, the Lonesome Travelers were resurrected.'

Search Add 2 Mattuais Matias Lovero Matias Lovero aka Mattuais is a Recording Artist and Sound Creative born in Argentina but raised between Argentina, Brazil and Spain, he grew up in a multicultural environment and a home filled with Rock, Gospel and Latin music, a reflex of his parents tastes. From an early age he got caught by the Sound and Music Industry, touring around some European and South American cities with unedited songs and organising several concerts and festivals in many cities around Spain, experiences that took him deep into audio and events production. All this influences developed a formed sense of Art and Business, and made him decide to start his own -this time professional- music career, releasing the single "PREACH!" in June ’13 as an prelude of his debut EP "The Jazzt Walk Project" released in September ’15. Mattuais is currently working on his first full length album. A future game changer.

Search Add 2 Blood Washed Band St. Paul, Minnesota The Blood Washed Band is a Twin Cities alt-country supergroup and the house band at House of Mercy, led by Professor Page Burkum. Inspired by old time country gospel songs and hymns, the band’s repertoire includes songs by the Carter Family, the Louvin Brothers, Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash and The Band. In April 2013, the Blood Washed Band released their first album Driftin’ Along, featuring original songs by Brett Larson, Jack Torrey, Erik Brandt, Page Burkum & Russell Rathbun as well as a Hank Williams cover. This is an album of country-gospel classics for those who still love the taste of whiskey. In addition to leading the Blood Washed Band, Burkum is one of the lead singers of the critically acclaimed The Cactus Blossoms and has won the Minnesota State Fair duets competition. Other regular members of the band include, violinist Chris Becknell (Mursik), keyboardist Erik Brandt (Urban Hillbilly Quartet), bassist Quillan Roe (Roe Family Singers, Accident Clearinghouse and another Minnesota State Fair duets competition winner), electric guitarist Jeremy Szopinski (Urban Hillbilly Quartet, House of Mercy Band), drummer Levi Stugelmeyer (Charn) and vocalist Angie Talle (House of Mercy Band). Blood Washed Band plays every Sunday at the House of Mercy Church in St. Paul

Search Add 2 Gary Russell Wertz Gary Russell Wertz (GRW) started his musical career as a youngster in the New York Punk scene of the early 1980s. At 20, Gary joined the quirky pop combo the Mommyheads. He spent the 1990s in the artistic firmament of the Bay Area scene, playing drums for the psych-noise groove music disaster known as Mars Bonfire. The dawn of the 21st Century saw Gary emerged as lead singer and creative force behind the “classic rock” inspired band Hot Mute. The “Aughts” also saw the release of his first solo album (The Natural) under the initials “GRW” – producing, writing and playing every instrument. 2007 heralded the beginning of an intense musical relationship with the fine artist and songwriter Kyle Ranson. Recording as Strawberry Smog, they released "Purgatorious"", "2 & 3" and 2018’s "Forevers", all produced by Gary. In 2011, another GRW L.P., the hard rock inspired “Wet Rocks” emerged on the desert rock label Treasure Craft. Gary has had a long and fruitful collaboration with David Catching of Eagles of Death Metal fame, recording at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, Ca.- contributing several tracks to Catching’s solo L.P. “Shared Hallucinations Pt.1” Gary produced many artists at his Sacred Dog Studios, including the reggae of Desmond George Smith, art rock band Arms + Legs, the spooky folk duo Pale Horse and, under pseudonyms, two stylistically different solo records: the electro-pop “Secret Projex” in 2016 and Beatlesque “Beat The Orphans” in 2015. In 2018, Gary and Sacred Dog Studios relocated to Nashville, with Gary overseeing production on Kyle Ranson’s first solo LP. GRW’s third solo LP, the Country and Rock flavored “Hybrids” will be released in 2020.

And usually we were a warm-up band for the Flock, the Buckingham‘s, the Cryan’ Shames, the Mods, etc. etc. etc.,” says Gary Filip, whose family owned a music instrument store in downtown Aurora, Illinois. “The record is one we recorded ourselves and printed ourselves in a little studio in Lombard, Illinois called MIBS.(Made In Basement Studio).”

I’m passionately anti religious and I care alot about the mental aspect that I try to pass on with my music, I regard my music as really focussed on the mental aspect. All I can say is that I experienced total freedom in making the album, I hope the listener experiences the same freedom interpreting it. Let the album be a soundtrack to our introspective journey in life..!'' - Piet van Rhijn

Search Add 2 Lunar Seas Lunar Seas are large, dark, basaltic plains on Earth's Moon, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. They were dubbed "seas", by early astronomers who mistook them for actual seas. They are less reflective than the "highlands" as a result of their iron-rich composition, and hence appear dark to the naked eye. The project of Moscow based artist P.Mkhlv represents his experiments with acoustic and electronic sound sources in field of landscape, cinematic, adorably dark and slow-motion sides of music.
